Talking Mayhem Mania - Charlotte vs Randy Orton and more!

Welcome to another year of everyone’s favorite fantasy/reality booking game: Mayhem Mania! Every year, we bring together fans, wrestlers and other folks and ask them to help us construct the BEST WrestleMania card that’s currently possible. Everyone under a WWE contract is eligible to use, as are those who are within the orbit of WWE’s influence. Every wrestler comes in their current physical, emotional and contractual state. That means anyone out with an injury is NOT eligible to use. (We are ignoring COVID-19 diagnoses because this is supposed to be a fun diversion, not a reminder of the terrible things happening around us.) Over the coming weeks more players will be invited to make changes to our card. If a match survives three consecutive rounds without being altered in any way, it graduates to our SUPERCARD. The goal is to get 8 awesome matches onto that SUPERCARD before the real WrestleMania. If you’re wondering if this process actually works, check out the SUPERCARDS from past years of Mayhem Mania. Mayhem Mania 2015 Mayhem Mania 2016 Mayhem Mania 2017 Mayhem Mania 2018 Mayhem Mania 2019 Mayhem Mania 2020 That’s right. This is our SEVENTH year! As always, we begin our opening round with a blank slate. 8 players were invited onto the Wrestling Mayhem Show to help us create 8 matches. There is one change from previous years of Mayhem Mania. This year, we’re designating one match slot as the “cinematic match” slot. Let’s see what everyone came up with. Mayhem Mania 2021 – Opening Round Match #1 (Created by Professor Jakob Edwin Sasha Banks vs. Rhea Ripley (with Stephanie McMahon) Match #2 (Created by Dave Podnar Bray Wyatt & Alexa Bliss vs. Xia Lee & Boa (*Designated As “Cinematic Match”) Match #3 (Created by Chad The Shad) Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner & Alexander Wolfe) vs. Pat McAfee & Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch Match #4 (Created by Mad Mike) Mercedes Martinez vs. Walter Match #5 (Created by The Rizz) Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston & AJ Styles vs. Tyler Breeze & Adam Cole & Cesaro Match #6 (Created by Alex Kahrs) Randy Orton vs. Charlotte Flair Match #7 (Created by Tina Keys) Daniel Bryan vs. Pete Dunne Match #8 (Created by Jordan Styles) Big E vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Bronson Reed vs. Dexter Lumis See how easy that is? What a great start for Mayhem Mania 2021! There are certainly a number of names that some would prefer NOT to see in a match on Mayhem Mania (or WrestleMania, for that matter). That’s why we created SPACE JAIL! It’s a place where players can trap their most unwanted wrestler. Anyone currently in a match on our card can NOT be sent to SPACE JAIL. They’re safe…for now. Be warned! Every week a spin of our wheel could free that person and there is NO “double jeopardy”. We gave each of the seven players who joined us live for the opening round the power to send one individual to SPACE JAIL. Here’s who they chose. WHO SENT WHO TO SPACE JAIL Dave Podnar: Lacey Evans Chad The Shad: Dominik Mysterio Mad Mike: Brock Lesnar The Rizz: Shane McMahon Alex Kahrs: Velveteen Dream Tina Keys: Ric Flair Jordan Styles: Edge We’re off to a great start, but Mayhem Mania is rarely a simple process. Next week, we’ll see the first changes to our card. wwe #wrestlemania #fantasybooking

Title Match On NXT UK. Late Change To Dusty Classic Field.NXT Results. AEW Dynamite Results. Jason Jordan Comeback?

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, January 21, 2021..
This update is sponsored by Fight Underground. Find Fight Underground on Facebook and check out the new fight between John Rodin and Beastman.. Results from last night’s NXT, AEW Dynamite and MLW Fusion are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: WWE) The WWE Women’s United Kingdom Championship on the line today on NXT UK. Kay Lee Ray is defending against Jinny. It sounds like there’s gonna be a late change to the final first round match in the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Ashante Adonis & Desmond Troy were both beaten down by Karrion Kross on last night’s NXT. And in video posted to WWE’s social media later in the night a trainer let slip that he had to pull both from the Dusty Classic. Their match against Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari was supposed to happen on Friday night’s 205 Live. WWE is also promising a match from the WOMEN’s Dusty Classic on that show. Let’s get into the rest of last night’s NXT. It was a night of upsets. In the first match in the first-ever WOMEN’s Dusty Classic...Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro BEAT Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez. They got some help from Io Shirai, seeking revenge for an attack by Martinez weeks ago. That left Storm alone. The finish was an insane flipping, spinning something off the top rope by Catanzaro. Check your gifs. It’s there. There were more upsets last night in the MEN’S Dusty Classic. Kushida and Leon Ruff beat Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory...and Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado beat Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner - their Imperium cohort Alexander Wolfe made a surprise appearance after the match - and didn’t look very pleased with the result. Finally, in the main event, Timothy Thatcher SUBMITTED Tommaso Ciampa to win their showdown in the FIGHT PIT. Ciampa got his leg trapped in the cage and Thatcher took advantage. Next week’s NXT will have Finn Balor teaming with Kyle O’Reilly against the tag champs Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. We’ll also see the first quarterfinal matches in the men’s Dusty Classic - Killian Dane & Drake Maverick vs. MSK...and the Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Kushida and Leon Ruff. Also, Santos Escobar will defend HIS Cruiserweight title against Curt Stallion, who helped Lucha House Party run off Legado del Fasntasmo on NXT last night. WWE announcing Wednesday a trio of new signings for NXT: Priscilla Kelly, Elayna Black and Lacey Ryan. All three were quickly assigned new ring names...and added to the field for the women’s Dusty Classic. Kelly and Black will team together as Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade. Ryan will now be known as Zoey Stark and she’s going to tag with Marina Shafir in the tournament. Chad Gable revealing that his former tag team partner Jason Jordan is NOT giving up on a return to the ring. (Gable On Jordan) Gable speaking on Wednesday’s episode of The Bump. Jordan’s last match was just over three years ago..when a neck injury forced him from the ring. (STINGER: AEW) AEW putting pieces in place for the coming weeks on last night’s Dynamite. The biggest development involved Hangman Page. He and the Dark Order teamed up to beat The Hybrid2 and Chaos Project. But after the match, Hangman politely declined to join the Dark Order. A pre-recorded segment appeared to show Don Callis trying to bribe the Young Bucks to split with Kenny Omega...before the Bucks beat up Callis. The Impact tag champs, the Good Brothers were back on Dynamite. They attacked Penta El Zero M backstage. The Good Brothers will be back on Dynamite NEXT Wednesday - teaming with the Young Bucks against the Dark Order. Eddie Kingston vs. Lance Archers also added to next week’s show. In TWO weeks, the Good Brothers and Kenny Omega will take on Jon Moxley and the Lucha Bros. in the main event of AEW’s Beach Break special. Last night’s main event saw MJF pin Sammy Guevara to win the Inner Circle tag team triple threat. Matt Hardy & Private Party - fresh off their appearance on last night’s Impact - used a steel chair to beat Matt Sydal & Top Flight. Also last night, AEW announced a tournament to crown a new #1 contender for their women’s championship. AEW did not mention when it will begin. Jacob Fatu remains the MLW World Champion. He beat ACH on last night’s Fusion. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, January 21. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. We also thank you in advance for leaving a glowing rating or review.. I’m Matt Carlins. Thank YOU for listening. SOURCED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHJ40FSP0VQ

Next 3 WrestleMania Dates Set. WWE RAW Preview. Adam Pearce Update. Nyla Rose Off AEW Dynamite. Sonny Kiss Return. Hard To Kill Results

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, January 18, 2021.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Impact’s Hard To Kill pay per view are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: WWE) WWE with a major announcement over the weekend - setting the dates and locations of the next THREE WrestleManias. First, this year’s WrestleMania will be a two-night event for the second straight year - on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. This year’s Mania was originally scheduled for March 28 at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. Instead, it’ll be held at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium - which was supposed to host last year’s Mania before COVID-19 ruined those plans. There will be live fans in attendance. WWE said it will announce ticket availability and safety protocols in the coming weeks. WWE also announced next year’s WrestleMania will be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Sofi Stadium in LA will finally get its WrestleMania in 2023. Tonight’s Monday Night Raw has double champion Asuka in a non-title match against Alexa Bliss. Adam Pearce went on Twitter Sunday night to thank fans who supported the idea of him challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble. That title shot was shifted to Kevin Owens on Friday’s SmackDown. Pearce added that he’s “not medically cleared”. (STINGER: AEW) Nyla Rose is OFF of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. She announced Saturday she’s isolating after an immediate family member tested positive for COVID-19. She was set for a match against Leyla Hirsch on Dynamite. TSN’s social media announced Sunday that Penelope Ford will be taking Rose’s spot in that match against Hirsch. The card for Tuesday night’s AEW Dark was announced over the weekend. It includes a match for Sonny Kiss. There was speculation over the past week that Sonny was injured, but Sonny said he’s ok. (STINGER: Impact) AEW Champ Kenny Omega PINNED Impact Champ Rich Swann as the team of Omega, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows...beat Swann, Chris Sabin and Moose n the main event of Impact’s Hard To Kill pay per view Saturday night.. Omega entered the main event wearing an old Halloween themed Bullet Club t-shirt. After the show, Moose attacked Swann backstage. Moose is in line for a future shot at the Impact title. He was a late substitute for Alex Shelley. Impact announced Friday Shelley was off the show due to “unavoidable circumstances”. There was a follow-up from Shelley himself on Saturday. (Shelley Health Update) That clip from Impact Wrestling. Matt Cardona made his Impact debut Saturday..as a surprise opponent for Ace Austin. Cardona got the win via disqualification. Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz won the tournament final for the revived Knockouts Tag Team Championships. Deonna Purrazo retained the Knockouts title against Taya Valkyrie. Manik held onto the X-Division title. Eddie Edwards beat Sami Callihan in a Barbed Wire Massacre. On the pre-show, Brian Myers beat Josh Alexander. Also, an announcement from 5-time Knockouts Champ Madison Rayne: (Rayne Retires) That clip from the Hard To Kill pre-show posted to Impact’s social media. Impact’s next pay per view is Rebellion on April 24th. Finally, quick reminder that New Japan is running a Road To The New Beginning show this morning at Korakuen Hall. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, January 18. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. Hard To Kill and Royal Rumble Main Event Changes. SmackDown Results. NJPW Strong Results. Ring of Honor & AEW News

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, January 16, 2021.
This update is sponsored by the Indy Mayhem Show. Check out the new episode with Roni Nicole RIGHT NOW wherever you get your podcasts. Results from Friday night’s SmackDown and New Japan Strong are straight ahead in this update but first… Impact Wrestling presenting its Hard To Kill pay per view tonight..and there’s a last-minute change to the main event. Impact announced Friday that Alex Shelley is off the show due to “unavoidable circumstances”. Moose will take his place in the interpromotional showdown - teaming with Impact Champ Rich Swann and Chris Sabin...against AEW Champ Kenny Omega and Impact tag champs Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows. Also tonight, the finals of the Knockouts Tag Team title tournament: Havok and Nevaeh vs. Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz Deonna Purrazzo is defending her Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie. Manik puts his X-Division title on the line in a 3-way against Chris Bey and Rohit Raju. A Barbed Wire Massacre between Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards. Plus, Ethan Page vs. his alter ego The Karate Man. (STINGER: WWE) So much for Adam Pearce’s Universal Title shot at the Royal Rumble. Pearce appeared to outsmart Roman Reigns on last night’s SmackDown...luring Reigns into signing a contract for a Last Man Standing match. But as soon as Reigns put pen to paper, Pearce started complaining about an old knee injury...then revealed his suitable replacement - Kevin Owens, who will now challenge Reigns at the Rumble. Two more entrants for the men’s Royal Rumble were announced last night - Jey Uso and Cesaro. Cesaro got a big win last night - using the Neutralizer to beat Daniel Bryan. While Jey Uso opened the show with a LOSS to Shinsuke Nakamura. Apollo Crews used a handful of tights to pin Sami Zayn. Crews gets another shot at Big E’s Intercontinental Championship on next week’s SmackDown. We should also note that Apollo was seen in Roman Reigns’ dressing room during the show. Sounds like we’re gonna get an intergender match in WWE. Sasha Banks agreed to give Carmella another shot at the SmackDown women’s title - but only AFTER Sasha gets a match against Carmella’s sommelier Reginald. TWO first round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic held on last night’s 205 Live. No big surprises. Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza got past the Bollywood Boyz...and Killian Dane and Drake Maverick beat August Grey and Curt Stallion. WWE is now promoting Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss for Monday night’s Raw! (STINGER: Ring Of Honor) Shane Taylor is next in line for a shot at the Ring Of Honor World Championship currently held by Rush. ROH announced Friday that Taylor won an online fan vote by a wide margin. The date for that title match is still to be determined. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan will kick off its Road To The New Beginning Tour Sunday at Korakuen Hall. It’s a tag team main event - SHO & Master Wato vs. Jr. Heavyweight Champ Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI. El Phantasmo’s suspiciously powerful superkick struck again on last night’s New Japan Strong..as he delivered the finishing blow for Bullet Club’s team. Next Friday, we’ll get the New Japan Strong debut of Ren Narita - taking on Ring Of Honor’s Bateman. (STINGER: AEW) A follow-up on that report a couple weeks ago about AEW shifting its TV production to Miami for a month. Bodyslam.net’s Cassidy Haynes - who was behind that original report - now says the road trip is canceled - and AEW is staying at Jacksonville’s Daily’s Place indefinitely. AEW announced Friday the latest postponement of what it hopes will one day be a LIVE Dynamite at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center. The new date is September 15. The show was originally scheduled for last March. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, January 16. Our next update comes your way MONDAY morning. Enjoy your weekend and be sure to subscribe to this feed. Click that notification bell. And leave us a rating or review. It all helps and we do appreciate it. I’m Matt Carlins. NXT UK Preview. AEW Dynamite Results. NXT Results

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, January 14, 2021..
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from last night’s AEW Dynamite, NXT and MLW Fusion are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: WWE) A major title match set for today’s NXT UK - WALTER will be defending his United Kingdom Championship against A-Kid. Also, Tyler Bate will be in action against Sam Gradwell. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is underway. THREE first-round matches on last night’s NXT. Earlier in the day, WWE announced we’d see the debut of a new team - called MSK. It turned out to be the team formerly known as The Rascalz - Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz now known as Wes Lee & Nash Carter. They advanced with a win over Isaiah "Swerve" Scott & Jake Atlas. The Grizzled Young Veterans beat Ever-Rise...and Adam Cole & Roderick Strong got past Breezango. But they needed a little backup to do it. During the match, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch attacked Kyle O’Reilly at ringside. That drew out NXT Champion Finn Balor returning the favor to the Undisputed Era, who saved him from Dunne, Lorcan and Burch earlier in the show. The first-ever WOMEN’S Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will not wait until the men’s edition is complete. That tournament will begin on NEXT week’s NXT - with Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter vs. Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez. Two other teams also announced last night - Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell..and Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon. But the full tournament bracket is still being kept under wraps. Two first round matches in the men’s Dusty Classic also announced for next week - Kushida & Leon Ruff vs. Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory....and Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner vs. Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado. We’ll also finally get Tommaso Ciampa vs. Timothy Thatcher in the FIGHT PIT on next week’s NXT. (STINGER: AEW) Now, let’s dig into last night’s AEW Dynamite. Darby Allin is still the TNT Champion. He survived an offensive onslaught from Brian Cage, then got a late assist from Sting when Team Taz got involved. For a few moments, it looked like Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks would team up for a 6-man tag. But Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows snuck in to take the Bucks’ spots. Omega and the Good Brothers beat the Varsity Blondes and Danny Limelight. After the match, Jon Moxley tried to beat the odds. When he was overwhelmed, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero M came to the rescue. When Mox got Omega back in his sights, the Young Bucks came out to stop him...but Fenix and Penta surprised the Bucks with a pair of superkicks. The show opened with Pac beating Eddie Kingston. Miro soundly defeated Chuck Taylor. That means Chuck must now serve as Miro’s “butler” for the next month or so. Serena Deeb beat Tay Conti to retain the NWA Women’s Championship. Some key matches set up for next Wednesday. Hangman Page says he’ll again team with the Dark Order..and promised to give the group an answer to their offer for him to join them. Also made for next week, a tag team triple threat involving most of the Inner Circle - Santana & Ortiz vs. Chris Jericho & MJF vs. Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara. Again, that’s next Wednesday. And a match made for AEW’s Beach Break special on February 3rd - Dr. Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling is giving its announce team an overhaul. The new team of Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown will debut at Saturday’s Hard to Kill pay per view. Josh Matthews is being promoted into an off-camera position. New tag champs in Major League Wrestling - The Von Erichs were dethroned by Los Parks. It did not come easy. It took interference from Salina de la Renta and persistently nefarious officiating by special guest referee FILTHY Tom Lawlor. Also, on Wednesday’s Fusion - former Lucha Underground champ Mil Muertes made his MLW debut with a dominating win over Brian Pillman Jr. A title change in Dragon Gate early Wednesday. We have new Open The Triangle Gate champs - Kzy, Susumu Yokosuka & Genki Horiguchi. They dethroned Takashi Yoshida, KAZMA SAKAMOTO & SB KENTo. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, January 14. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning. Please rate, review and subscribe so you don’t miss a thing. Or simply tell your smart speaker to play the Just Pro Wrestling News podcast. Raw Preview, Impact Genesis results, Other Weekend Event Results

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, January 11, 2021.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Impact’s Genesis show are straight ahead in this update but first… WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton are set to renew hostilities in a non-title match on tonight’s Raw. McIntyre is also expected to address Goldberg’s challenge to face him for the belt at the Royal Rumble. The fallout from last Friday’s SmackDown will see Shinsuke Nakamura face Jey Uso on NEXT Friday’s show. Nakamura was running through a Gauntlet Match for a Universal Title shot against Roman Reigns..when Reigns and Uso attacked and orchestrated a victory for Adam Pearce. WWE is now promoting a new show for fans in India. “Superstar Spectacle” will air on networks in India on January 26. That’s Republic Day - a national holiday in the country. Promotional ads feature Jinder Mahal, the Bollywood Boys and other stars of Indian descent who are currently in the WWE system. (STINGER: Impact) A new challenger for the Impact Wrestling World Championship set up at Saturday night’s Genesis show. It happened at the end of the “I Quit” Match between Moose and Willie Mack. Moose wrapped a chair around Mack’s neck, and was set to strike with another..when Impact champ Rich Swann ran out...offering Moose a title shot if he spared Mack. Moose agreed, said “I Quit”..giving Mack the win. There’s no word yet on WHEN Swann and Moose will clash for the Impact world title. Other headlines from Genesis - Ace Austin won the Super X Cup tournament, beating Blake Christian in the final. Austin’s sights are now set BEYOND the X-Division. (Austin Wins X Cup) Austin speaking on Impact’s social media. Also from Saturday night, Jordynne Grace won her showdown with Jazz. (STINGER: Ring Of Honor) “Re-signing Season” rolls on for Ring Of Honor - Tracy Williams and Sumie Sakai the latest names with new deals revealed over the weekend. One name not among the slew of ROH re-signings announced over the past week or so - Dalton Castle. Wrestling Inc. is reporting Castle is now a free agent - considering an offer from ROH while he also explores other options. Speculation is swirling around the future of Jay White. Even Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows are wondering about his future...and hoping to get a hint from Rocky Romero. (Romero Switchblade Future) Hey guys. You tried. That clip from the new episode of Talk’n Shop. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, January 11. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. Bullet Club Reunion. AEW New Year Smash, NXT New Year's Evil, New Japan New Year Dash Results.

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, January 7, 2021.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from NXT, MLW and New Japan’s New Year Dash shows are straight ahead in this update but first.. (STINGER: AEW) Let’s unpack the end of last night’s AEW Dynamite..where the Kenny Omega/Impact Wrestling saga turned into a full fledged North American Bullet Club reunion. Omega beat Rey Fenix to retain his AEW title. He then revealed Eddie Kingston, The Butcher and The Blade had attacked Penta El Zero M and Pac backstage. Omega vowed to end Fenix, but Jon Moxley came to the rescue, armed with a barbed wire baseball bat. Mox got a few shots in on Omega before Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows - the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions - showed up to save Kenny. Their attack on Moxley eventually drew some of the wrestlers at ringside to get involved, but they were little help. Finally, the Young Bucks came out and ended up helping Omega. The final shot was the Bucks reluctantly joining Omega, Anderson and Gallows in a “Too Sweet”. The Bucks opened the show teaming with SCU to beat The Hydrid2 & The Acclaimed. After the match, Christopher Daniels made it clear that SCU is aiming for the Bucks’ tag titles. Also last night, Cody Rhodes had Snoop Dogg in his corner as he beat Matt Sydal. Serpentico and Luther tried to jump Rhodes and Sydal after the match but were turned away and Snoop dropped a top rope splash on Serpentico. Hikaru Shida beat Abadon to hold onto the AEW women’s title. And Wardlow hit the F10 and beat Jake Hager. The two exchanged a mutual respect fist bump after the match. Chuck Taylor said Trent will be out of action for 4-5 months with a torn pec. Taylor will face Miro next week, and if Chuck loses he has to be Miro’s “young boy”. Also added to next week’s show: Serena Deeb defending the NWA Women’s Title against Tay Conti...and Eddie Kingston vs. Pac. (STINGER: WWE) Finn Balor is still the NXT Champion. He beat Kyle O’Reilly via submission on last night’s NXT. Raquel Gonzalez beat Rhea Ripley in their Last Woman Standing match after Gonzalez choke slammed Ripley through the entrance stage. Karrion Kross beat Damien Priest. And Santos Escaor retained his cruiserweight title against Gran Metalik. The FIGHT PIT match between Tommasso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher was pulled from last night’s show due to an injury for Thatcher. Also, the next NXT TakeOver special on the WWE Network will be on Valentine’s Day - Sunday, February 14th. Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic begins next week with a pair of first round matches: Adam Cole and Roderick Strong vs. Breezango...and the Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Ever-Rise. NXT also announced the first-ever WOMEN’S Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is coming soon. The only title change on Wednesday was the MLW World Middleweight Championship. Lio Rush dethroned Myron Reed. MLW’s Court Bauer says the league is in talks with at least two “major” networks about expanding its programming. (Bauer MLW TV Talks) Bauer speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. (STINGER: New Japan) New title challengers coming into focus at New Japan’s New Year Dash show Wednesday. The main event mult-man tag match setting up NEVER champ Shingo Takagi vs Hiroshi Tanahashi...and HIromu Takahashi defending his junior heavyweight title against SHO. On the undercard, El Phantasmo pinned Yoshinobu Kanemaru after a suspiciously powerful superkick. That puts ELP and Taiji Ishimori in line for a shot at the jr tag titles held by Kanemaru and El Desperado. The Empire laid waste to Hiroyoshi Tenzan to the point that he was stretchered out of the arena. Kazuchika Okada now has his sights set on EVIL. As for Jay White...He was pinned by Tomohiro Ishii - as CHAOS beat Bullet Club in a 10-man tag. White was carried to the back, but there was no further follow-up to his post-Wrestle Kingdom comments that he’s “done” in New Japan. Ring Of Honor announcing Amy Rose has re-signed with the company. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, January 7. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. Wrestle Kingdom Preview. WWE RAW Legends Night Preview. Zicky Dice Wants AEW

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, January 4, 2021.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. If it’s January 4th, it must be Wrestle Kingdom! Night 1 of New Japan’s biggest event of the year is being held today in Tokyo Dome. We’ll have results for you in our update tomorrow. The Night 2 card being held Tuesday will have Jay White in the main event, challenging either Tetsuya Naito or Kota Ibushi for the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental titles. Also, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight champ Taiji Ishimori awaits the winner of the Night 1 match between Hiromu Takahashi and El Phantasmo. Also on tap for Night 2… EVIL vs. SANADA and Shingo Takagi defending the NEVER title against Jeff Cobb. This is a big week not only for New Japan. Other Japanese promotions are also holding major shows. But all the events in Tokyo are under the cloud of growing COVID-19 concerns. The latest daily new case record was set there over the weekend. Speaking early Monday, the Japanese prime minister said the government could declare a state of emergency in and around Tokyo. That would be only the second in Japan since the start of the pandemic. The first was back in spring. It lasted for just over a month. Tokyo leaders are already asking businesses to shorten their hours. New restrictions on large-scale events in Tokyo were announced at the end of December. Those forced New Japan to halt ticket sales for Wrestle Kingdom. Everyone attending Wrestle Kingdom this week is being asked to register for contact tracing. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight is “Legends Night” on Monday Night Raw. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and many others are being promoted. Also, we’ll get Drew McIntyre defending his WWE Championship against Keith Lee. Among the new free agents in the new year - former NWA TV champ Zicky Dice. And he seems to know exactly where he wants to land. (Zicky Dice To AEW?) Zicky Dice speaking with Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful.com. It looks like AEW is about to take their shows back out on the road - at least, for a little bit. Bodyslam.net’s Cassidy Haynes reports AEW will leave Daily’s Place next month and head to Miami - for tapings of Dynamite, Dark and its Revolution pay-per-view on February 27th. AEW would return to Jacksonville in March. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, January 4. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. We also thank you in advance for leaving a glowing rating or review.. I’m Matt Carlins. Thank YOU for listening.

JPWN Beta: New Japan Updates. Scary Injury at DragonGate. SCU End of the Line. Impact Wrestling PPV Updates.

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
This update is sponsored by Fight Underground. Search for Fight Underground on Facebook and check out the new fight between Beastman and Justin Idol. Results from Tuesday’s New Japan show, AEW Dark and news from Impact Wrestling’s “Best Of 2020” show are straight ahead but first… The cards for both nights of Wrestle Kingdom are set. The final new matches were announced during a news conference earlier today. Added to Night 1: KENTA defending his Right To Challenge the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion against Juice Robinson. The New Japan Rumble will return with 22 wrestlers...and the final four moving on to a four-way on Night 2 to determine the King Of Pro Wrestling 2021 holder. Night 2 will also now see El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru defend the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato. That’ll be 7 matches on both nights. Last year, there were 11 on Night 1...and 9 on the Night 2. One more note from the news conference...New Japan said ZERO cases of COVID-19 infection have come from ANY of the 78 events it’s held since returning from the lockdown. New Japan’s final show of the year...and the final stop on its Road To Tokyo Dome tour is being held this morning. We’ll have results in our update tomorrow. Tuesday’s “Road To” show saw KENTA, Jay White and Gedo beat Kota Ibushi, Juice Robinson and SHO in the show’s main event. Staying in Japan.. Questions surround the final moments of a championship match at Dragon Gate’s Final Gate show on Sunday. Open The Dream Gate Champion Shun Skywalker appeared to legitimately knock out challenger Ben-K with a forearm. Before the ref could assess Ben-K’s status..Skywalker quickly followed with two standing moonsaults into double knees. Then, Skywalker added a pair of moonsaults from the top rope before scoring the win. Ben-K was taken from the ring on a stretcher. Dragon Gate tweeted a brief statement Monday, saying Ben-K “was diagnosed with a mild concussion.” Ben-K himself later tweeted that he’s recovered, but he will miss some time. (STINGER: AEW) An ultimatum for Christopher Daniels from his longtime tag team partner Frankie Kazarian. (End Is Near For SCU) That clip from Tuesday’s AEW Dark. SCU then challenged The Hybrid2. Alex Gracia got her first AEW win on Dark. It was revealed that she will be Hikaru Shida’s opponent on tonight’s Dynamite. Also tonight, the Young Bucks defend their AEW Tag Team Championships against The Acclaimed...and Chris Jericho & MJF take on Top Flight. A reminder that tonight’s Dynamite is a late start for east coast viewers - after NBA basketball. There was a new segment staged as a paid ad by AEW on Tuesday’s “Best of 2020” edition of Impact Wrestling. In it, Tony Khan invited Impact to send some of its wrestlers to Wednesday’s Dynamite. Other news from Impact last night.. Impact announced that its fans voted Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo as its Wrestler Of The Year. Manik will defend the X-Division Title in a 3-Way against Chris Bey and Rohit Raju at the Hard To Kill PPV on January 16. The participants and first-round matches were announced for the Super X Cup tournament at the Genesis show January 9th. Ace Austin vs. Suicide.. Daivari vs. Cousin Jake.. Crazzy Steve vs. Tre Lamar, and KC Navarro vs. Blake Christian. Just announced late Tuesday for tonight’s NXT - Rhea Ripley vs. Dakota Kai. Tonight’s NXT will open with the tag champs Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch defending against Killian Dain and Drake Maverick in a Street Fight. WWE announced Tuesday that Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Title defense against Big E on the Christmas Day Smackdown will now be a lumberjack match. Mance Warner confirmed to Wrestling Inc.’s Nick Hausman that he did ask for his release from MLW. But it’s not clear when - or if - that will happen. Warner’s last match for MLW was back in March. Tonight’s MLW Fusion has the Opera Cup final between Tom Lawlor and Low Ki. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Wednesday, December 23. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. We also thank you in advance for leaving a glowing rating or review.. I’m Matt Carlins. JPWN Beta: WWE TLC PPV Preview. WWE Trademarks The Collective. Mike Bennett Injury

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Sunday, December 20, 2020.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Tonight, it’s the final WWE pay-per-view of the year - TLC. Six matches have been announced, including two championship matches being contested under TLC rules. Roman Reigns defends the Universal Title against Kevin Owens. And AJ Styles challenges Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax will defend their women’s tag team titles against Asuka...and a mystery partner. Sasha Banks puts the SmackDown Women’s Title on the line against Carmella. Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander challenge Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for the Raw Tag Titles. And Randy Orton faces The Fiend in the first-ever Firefly Inferno Match. WWE is keeping the details of that stipulation under wraps. The Kickoff show begins at 6PM ET - The main show starts at 7. Jey Uso has been a big part of Reigns’ title run. And it won’t be long until Jimmy Uso returns to full-time action. Jey says he expects his brother back by January or February. (Jey Uso On Jimmy Injury) Jey speaking with WWE German language commentator Walandi Tsanti for ProSieben MAXX. Injury news following Ring Of Honor’s Final Battle...and it is not good news for Mike Bennett. He tweeted that he’ll be out for the next 6 weeks with a hairline fracture in his ankle. Another day of trademark filing news. Heel By Nature first to report WWE filing for a trademark for the name “The Collective” - the same name Game Changer Wrestling has used for one of its signature events for years. However, this may not be an issue for either side. WWE’s filing appears to be for a stable or tag team - NOT an event. And GCW owner Brett Lauderdale tweeted on Saturday “everything will be ok”. Meanwhile, AEW may have tipped its hand on the new program it’s developing for Warnermedia. Heel By Nature also first to report AEW filed a trademark for the name “AEW Elevation”. A new match for Wednesday’s NXT just announced yesterday - the NXT Tag Team Titles will be on the line Wednesday night. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch will defend against Drake Maverick and Killian Dane. And it will be a Street Fight. The first broadcast from New Japan’s Road To The Tokyo Dome tour is happening Monday morning. That will be a FREE show on New Japan World starting at 4:30 AM ET. The main event is a 6-man tag. LIJ’s Tetsuya Naito, SANADA and BUSHI vs Bullet Club’s Jay White, EVIL and Dick Togo. This will be the first time White and EVIL have ever tagged. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Sunday, December 20. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. We also thank you in advance for leaving a glowing rating or review.. I’m Matt Carlins. Thank YOU for listening.

JPWN Beta: Dr. Alfanso Morales. ROH Final Battle and WWE Smackdown Results. CMLL PPV Cancelled.

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, December 19, 2020.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Coming up, results from Ring Of Honor’s Final Battle, Friday’s SmackDown and New Japan Strong - but first some sad news.. An iconic voice in Lucha Libre has died. Dr. Alfonso Morales passed away Thursday after a long battle with kidney disease. Morales was a sports journalist first - before becoming the announcer for BOTH AAA and CMLL during their broadcast TV expansion in the 1990's and beyond. Dr. Alfonso Morales was 71. Staying in Mexico, CMLL has canceled its PPV scheduled for Christmas Day. The announcement came after authorities in and around Mexico City shut down all non-essential businesses through January 10th..due to a spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations. (STINGER: Ring Of Honor Results) Ring of Honor back on pay-per-view for the first time in a year, with its biggest show of the year - Final Battle. There were two late changes to the card. Instead of battling EC3, Jay Briscoe LOST to Shane Taylor, who called it the biggest win of his ROH career..and declared he’s got next in the ROH World Title picture. (More on that in a moment) Bandido and Flamita were also held out of the show. So instead of defending the 6-man tag titles, Rey Horus got a match against Dalton Castle..and WON. The main event saw Rush retain his ROH World Title against Brody King..after interference by Rush’s father, La Bestia del Ring, and his brother, Dragon Lee. Lee retained his TV title against Tony Deppen, who advanced from a 4-way match earlier in the night. It appears Rush, Lee and the rest of La Facción Ingobernable are on a collision course with The Foundation. The two sides had a staredown at the end of the night. The Foundation’s Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham retained their ROH tag titles against Mark Briscoe and PCO. Then, Gresham beat Flip Gordon to hold onto the Pure Title. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett beat Vincent and Bateman. But The Righteous responded by attacking Bennett’s legs.. Also, Danhausen finally secured his ROH contract. He beat Brian Johnson via disqualification. (Danhausen ROH Contract) Some of Danhausen’s post-match comments on ROH’s social media. (STINGER: Smackdown Results) Last night’s SmackDown the final stop before WWE’s TLC show on Sunday.. The Street Profits retained their tag titles with a win over Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Bayler pinned Bianca Belair after raking the eyes of Belair and hitting her Rose Plant finisher. Otis beat Shinsuke Nakamura. And Kevin Owens was beaten down by Jey Uso and/or Roman Reigns no less than four times..ahead of his Universal Title match against Reigns on Sunday. (STRINGER: New Japan Results) New Japan Strong last night.. KENTA beat the aforementioned Brody King to hold onto his contract to challenge for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship. KENTA will carry the briefcase into Wrestle Kingdom..and he made it clear he’s ready to challenge Jon Moxley. The only questions are when..and where? PWInsider reports.. Madison Rayne will be leaving Impact Wrestling for a new job outside the pro wrestling business. Kenny Omega and Don Callis are working hard to blur the lines between wrestling and reality. Omega says “it was time” for him to take the AEW World Championship. (Omega On AEW Title) Omega and Callis are both guests on the new episode of Talk Is Jericho. Finally, AEW is in danger of losing its trademark filing for the “Stadium Stampede”. Hell By Nature was first to report the filing has been suspended by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. One of the issues is WWE’s trademark for the old WCW pay-per-view “Spring Stampede”. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, December 19. JPWN Beta: ROH Final Battle Preview. Otis on WWE PC. Jake Crist on Impact Wrestling Status. WrestleMania 4 & 5 Venue to Implode.

I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, December 18, 2020.
This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Thursday’s NXT UK are straight ahead, but first… Ring Of Honor’s biggest event of the year - and its first pay-per-view since last December. Final Battle is just hours away. But there’s uncertainty surrounding part of the card. Last week, ROH announced EC3, Flamita and Bandido are OUT of the show due to COVID-19 testing protocols. ROH will announce changes to tonight’s card during the free First Hour of Final Battle, beginning at 8PM. EC3 was set to battle Jay Briscoe. Flamita and Bandido were going to defend their 6-man tag titles. As for the matches that WILL happen. Rush defends the ROH World Title against Brody King. Jonathan Gresham will wrestle TWICE. He’ll defend the Pure Title against Flip Gordon...and he and Jay Lethal will put their tag titles on the line against Mark Briscoe & PCO. Also, Danhausen can secure an ROH contract IF he can beat Brian Johnson. WWE updating the card for Sunday’s TLC show. The Fiend vs Randy Orton will now be a Firefly Inferno Match! Also, a rematch from last Friday’s Smackdown is set for TLC with Sasha Banks defending her Women’s Title against Carmella. A reminder that tonight’s SmackDown airs on FS1. The Street Profits are set to defend their tag titles against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Also, Bianca Belair faces Bayley. Some interesting names on tonight’s New Japan Strong. KENTA is defending his Right To Challenge contract for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship...against the aforementioned Brody King. Also, Jeff Cobb faces Rust Taylor - who recently signed with WWE and made his NXT in-ring debut just days ago as Tyler Rust. Some big announcements on Thursday’s NXT UK A-Kid will challenge WALTER for the UK Championship in the new year. There’s no exact date yet. There’s a #1 contender’s match for Kay Lee Ray’s UK women’s title coming. Jinny and Piper Niven will meet on the first NXT UK of the new year - on January 7th. Also on Thursday’s show, Gallus retained their tag titles against The Hunt.. Trent Seven announced he’ll be taking a break from the ring.. And NXT UK unveiled a hot prospect - announcing Ben Carter will soon make his debu. The 22-year-old worked matches for AEW and Impact over the last six months...before signing with WWE. Some injury news. NXT’s Cameron Grimes is out of action for the rest of the year. PW Insider reports Grimes underwent surgery last week. Otis is disputing reports that Vince McMahon recently ordered he and other “big guys” back to the Performance Center for additional training. (Otis On PC Work) That’s Otis speaking with Fox Sports’ Ryan Satin. Impact Wrestling announced the Super X Cup tournament will be part of its Genesis show on January 9th. Jake Crist is now a free agent. He parted ways with Impact a couple weeks before his contract was due to expire. Impact fired Jake’s brother Dave and Joey Ryan after the explosion of #SpeakingOut accusations flooded the pro wrestling industry over the summer. Jake was pulled from TV and he said he was essentially “ghosted” by Impact for 6 months until things finally thawed recently. (Jake Crist Impact Departure) Jake Crist on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast. Jake added he has no hard feelings toward Impact, and loved his time there. Finally, the site of WrestleManias 4 and 5 will soon meet its end. But first, Atlantic City is holding an online auction for the chance to push the button to implode the former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. Money raised will go to the local Boys & Girls Club. That’s JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, December 18th. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed.
I’m Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, December 17, 2020.
This update is sponsored by Fight Underground. Search for it on Facebook to see the new fight between Colossal Mike Law and the Masked Bandit. We’ll have results from last night’s NXT, AEW Dynamite AND MLW Fusion in a moment, but first… Charges could soon be filed in the death of Hana Kimura. The Japan Times reports the suspect is a man in his 20’s from Osaka..accused of cyberbullying. The 22-year-old Kimura was found dead at her home back in May. (STINGER: NXT Results) Let’s get to the results from Wednesday night. Kyle O’Reilly will get another shot at Finn Balor’s NXT Championship. O’Reilly beat Pete Dunne on last night’s NXT. Balor-O’Reilly 2 will go down at NXT’s New Year’s Evil special on January 6th. Also added to that show - Damien Priest vs Karrion Kross, who got a quick win last night in his return to in-ring action. In the main event on last night’s NXT - Toni Storm beat Rhea Ripley, with a little help from Raquel Gonzalez. (STINGER: AEW Dynamite Results) AEW also making some big matches for the coming weeks. Kenny Omega will defend the AEW Championship for the first time on the December 30th edition of Dynamite. His opponent will be Rey Fenix. That announcement came after Omega beat Joey Janela on last night’s Dynamite. Also last night, The Acclaimed - in their first match on Dynamite - BEAT SCU. Afterward, The Acclaimed challenged the Young Bucks to a tag title match. That’ll happen on next Wednesday’s Dynamite. Another up-and-coming tag team - Top Flight - were on the losing end of a 12-man tag against the Inner Circle. But they’ll get a shot at just Chris Jericho and MJF next week. A quick reminder that Dynamite is a late start next week...after NBA basketball. A couple more notes from last night - Cody and Brandi Rhodes announced they’re expecting a child. Then, Cody beat Angelico. Afterward, Team Taz confronted Cody...only to be run off by STING! Also, Matt Hardy & Private Party beat Hangman Page and the Dark Order’s John Silver and Alex Reynolds. When did Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann find out that Kenny Omega was coming to HIS promotion? (Swann On Impact & AEW) Swann speaking on Wrestling Observer Live. Meanwhile, Impact Executive Vice President Don Callis fielded questions on the company’s Press Pass podcast. Not many straight answers as Callis stuck mainly to his on-air persona. But he did have an interesting answer after being asked how Omega’s presence could alter Impact’s existing plans for 2021. (Callis On Omega In Impact) Callis also said he has no plan to reintroduce fans at Impact TV tapings..but he also added that his responsibilities do not normally involve “that sort of stuff”. An absolute SHOCKER on MLW Fusion...and it was presented by Salina De La Renta. (De La Renta Teases Mil Muertes) That clip from last night’s Fusion...as De La Renta teased the imminent arrival of former Lucha Underground star Mil Muertes in MLW. Tom Lawlor beat ACH to advance to the Opera Cup finals. Lawlor will face Low Ki on next Wednesday’s Fusion. And a big match made for MLW’s Kings Of Colosseum special on January 6th.
