Mrs. Goose and her Swamp Cousins is a story about a family of geese who live on a farm but travel to visit their cousins who live in the swamp. Mrs. Goose keeps a close eye on her goslings as they swim to their cousins home. When they arrive they look around and see how wonderful everything is and they wish they could have a home there. At the end of the story the Mrs. Goose and her babies get back to the farm and she is very content to be home. Flop Ear has been lifted up by something and he is feeling squeezed. He asks to be put down and finds out it was Tum Tum the Elephant who had picked him up to get him out of the way of the wheels of the circus wagons. Flop Ear hops back to his tree and the next day he sets out to keep looking for his home. On his way he comes across a family of mice and helps them get out of a box. In Chapter 7 Flop Ear gets away from Jimmie by getting under the fence. He meets a bird and after chatting for awhile the bird tells him he needs to go quickly because Jimmie is coming. Flop Ear hops away and goes into a forest where he meets Slicko the squirrel. Together they try to find Squinty’s pigsty but they can’t.
