LONG PAUSE As you lie on the soft silk bed Calmness grows around you Like plants in a garden. And your thoughts clenched like a fist in your mind, Let go and soften. LONG PAUSE And the more your skin Sinks deep into the silk Lavishing in how it feels, all your body tension melts. And the softness you embrace through every fiber that’s you Opens your body to movement with gentle grace through and through. Imagine you’re a butterfly Rising from the silken bed Your arms turn into wings, To the sky they spread. PAUSE Your wings are magnificent like no other They sing together, A mosaic of bright colors. PAUSE As your wings rise with a breath of air beneath them You glide along relaxed and light To the nearest flower’s stem. PAUSE You make your way to The heart of the rose And each satiny petal softens your your body and calls your soul. PAUSE And you sip the nectar of the rose, the liquor of the divine, and snuggle deep inside the petals enjoying the sublime. PAUSE As you wait for another breeze to lift your wings above, You see high in the trees A snowy white dove. PAUSE The dove nods her understanding In a way that you hear it You feel overwhelming love And a connection to Spirit. PAUSE The time comes to take flight To say adieu to this rose And then glide To the next sight. PAUSE Off to a daffodil, a blazing yellow blossom, swaying to and fro, A sweet treasure in her column. PAUSE And as you alight on the top of the flower You notice a bee, a honeybee, ‘neath the daffodil’s tower. PAUSE So you descend to the daffodil’s cushiony petals, Spread out your wings Into the softness, To rest just a little. PAUSE While the bee goes to work Kissing her flower Making Mother Nature’s elixir So you bless her and allow her. PAUSE Then the bee flies away, and it’s your time to drink a natural cocktail From the flower’s brink. PAUSE And the rest and the drink restore your power, And off you sail to Your next garden flower. PAUSE While sailing across the garden in summer A wood fairy joins you And you soar through nature’s colors. PAUSE The fairy’s wings flutter Like glittery green glass And she kindly offers to help with your task. PAUSE So together you coast And she leads you to a meadow with flowers swaying in the wind, And trees casting shadows. PAUSE Purple, gold and white blooms dot the land as for miles It’s beautiful and inviting So you thank the fairy with a smile. PAUSE And as you sip nature’s potion, You nod to your fairy friend, She smiles and sings fairy songs so you join in. PAUSE And after you’ve had your fill Of Mother Nature’s spirits It’s off to a hill With a single flower near it. PAUSE This one tiny flower Leans and reaches for the sun And opens a bed for you Where you become one. Just recognizing the cool air as it comes in, And the warm air as it comes out. And let each breath expand just a little bit more. Inhaling just a little longer. Exhaling just a little bit more. PAUSE… Now go ahead and take one big, deep breath in, Allowing the inbreath to come into the lungs and expand your belly. And when you can’t breathe in anymore, go ahead and release on the exhale, Letting all that air out. Bring your breathing back to its normal rhythm, And let your body relax just a little deeper into its position. PAUSE… Now I want you to imagine for a second that you’re standing outside of yourself. Looking at the position you’re in right now. Just observing yourself. Noticing how relaxed you look. And I want you to imagine in your mind that you see yourself raise your hand in front of you, Reaching your hand out, as if you’re holding something in it. Maybe it’s someone’s behavior or attitude that you’re trying to change. Maybe it’s your work, The amount of work you get done, the amount of money coming in. LONG PAUSE Inhale deeply and fully again, with a breath that gently buries into your muscles, dissolving all the tension in you and turning the muscles soft like creamy butter. Meditation: Settle Down for the Night

Allow yourself a moment to stretch or move to relieve any kinks or tension in your body. PAUSE… And then take a full, deep breath in, Inhaling the night’s air deep into your lungs, And then exhale, Melting deeper into this special spot. PAUSE… Concentrate on your breathing, Inviting your mind to hold its attention On the rhythmic movement of air in and out of your nose. PAUSE… Breathe in, Breathe out. PAUSE… Slow your body down with every breath, Even if your mind speeds up. Just stay with your breath, And slow it all down. LONG PAUSE... Now bring your attention to the top of your head, Imagining a soft lavender light hovering just above it. PAUSE… Feel the comforting warmth of this lavender light, And its calming energy relaxing your head completely. PAUSE… Feel it quiet everything inside. Feel it deeply relax your eyes, Soften your cheeks, Release your jaw, Soften your mouth, And relieve your neck. LONG PAUSE… Notice as the soft, lavender light travels down, Wrapping its soothing energy around your shoulders, Your right arm, Your left arm, Your hands. PAUSE… Notice the soft hum of sleep it spreads here, And then feel your shoulders drop, Your right arm and your left arm melt, And your hands soften and relax, LONG PAUSE… The soothing lavender light now settles onto your chest, Relaxes your belly, And slowly cascades down your back, Following your spine from your neck, All the way down to your lower back. Relaxing and releasing, Relaxing and releasing. LONG PAUSE… Invite the calming energy of the soft, lavender light to spread into your hips, Down into your thighs, And circling around your left leg, And now your right leg. PAUSE... Watch it spiral all the way down into your right foot, And then your left foot. And then covering your toes, One by one. LONG PAUSE… Breathe deeply, And feel yourself wrapped lovingly in the soothing, Lavender light of the night. PAUSE… Let it heal you, Let it cleanse you, Let it relieve your body of all the tension it carries. Let it relieve your mind of all the thoughts inside. To help you create boundaries, say the no’s, scream the yesses and do all the things that make your soul feel deeply nourished and loved. So Let’s Begin… Let’s begin by getting into a comfortable position. You can be sitting, lying down or even moving in a safe and relaxing way. If you can, close your eyes and take a deep breath in. And on your exhale, allow yourself to sink deeper into your position. Bring your breathing to its normal rhythm, And simply be here with your breath for a bit. Feeling your body expand with your breath in. And contract with your breath out. Breathe in. Breathe out. PAUSE… You are worthy of receiving love from yourself. You are worthy of being your priority. You are worthy of receiving the love and appreciation and care you so easily give to others. Breathe that in, allowing yourself to be open to receiving your love. PAUSE... So imagine with me that you’re sitting in the middle of a large, open room of a house. The sunshine illuminates the room and warms your skin. And a soft, soothing aroma makes you feel calm and safe. It’s quiet and the only noises you hear are the songs of nature coming in from your open windows. Even though the large, open room may not resemble your current residence, You know this is your home. Where your heart and your body and your soul feel grounded and vibrant. You are safe here. And here...you can listen. Listen to what your inner voice is telling you. PAUSE… What do you need right now? What would make your body feel good? Your mind feel good? Your soul feel good? Just take a moment to sit with your breath, and with the answers that come up for you. PAUSE… See these answers in your mind. And watch yourself as you stand up and move towards the door. You deserve to feel good. You deserve to shine. Open the door and see those things you called to mind waiting there, Ready for you to call them in. Take in a deep breath of gratitude, And one by one, invite in each of those things you identified. Each of those things you know will make you feel good. You hear it in the conversations and updates around you. You feel it in your body. You see it in the eyes of your friends and family. But you know that peace and solutions and healing cannot live in the energy of fear. So the intention of today’s meditation is to help you identify the fear around you and in you, so you can separate from it and practice letting it go. So you can show up today with calmness, clarity, wisdom and presence. And so you can contribute to the universal energy of love that is needed right now. Journal Prompts: I recommend writing the following journal prompts on a loose piece of paper, or a page in your journal you can easily rip out, as I’ll be recommending you crumble up the paper and throw it away. Write down all the fears you’re having right now. Start with, I’m afraid that… and let yourself write until you can’t write anymore. When you feel the emotions arise from identifying these fears, just recognize them and breathe them out. And then continue writing. This practice is to help you put words to those fears so you can let them go instead of letting them be vague and clouding inside of you. Write down 10 things you’re grateful for right now. Write down 10 affirmations that make you feel good. Examples: I am safe. I am healthy. I am present. I am peaceful. I am resilient. Or perhaps you have the excitement of tomorrow swimming around inside of you. Whatever it is, you can’t sleep. And as the minutes pass by, your restlessness may even worsen as the possibility of a sleepless night drags you into a pool of anxiety. So the intention of this meditation is to help softly distract your mind with soothing guidance so your body can melt into the deep sleep it craves. Journal Prompts: Before Bed: Freewrite for a few minutes about why you can’t fall asleep. What’s on your mind? What are you worrying about? Excited about? Want to organize? Write it down so it can stay on the paper and not in your mind. When you’re done, simply write, goodnight. I’ll be back for you tomorrow. Morning After Sleep: Write down any dreams you can recall.
