In July 2019, Judy Malinowski of Ohio died 700 days after her crazy ex-boyfriend doused gasoline and set her on fire. 15-year old boy Demetrius Griffin, Jr. was burned alive in September 2016 inside a burning garbage can in an alley in Austin, Chicago. And in 2014, the small town of Courtland, Mississippi was grappled with shock and sadness when a well-loved 19-year old cheerleader of her high school football team was burned to death, and died shortly thereafter. He relishes kidnapping overweight women, depriving them of food for weeks, killing and then skinning them dumping the victims in nearby rivers. As for the women’s skin, Buffalo Bill makes them into a “woman suit” for himself. This prods one to ask, “Is there a real Buffalo Bill who exists somewhere in the world?” The answer is partly “yes” because it turns out that Harris developed Buffalo Bill as a composite character – meaning, he based it not just on one, neither 2 nor 3, but six real-life serial killers. And one of them was Gary M. Heidnik who kidnapped, raped and tortured six women while holding them prisoner in a pit. She, along with three travel writers, headed to Montego Bay, Jamaica on May 24, 2000, in preparation for their final destination. But once there, they were informed the trip to Cuba won’t push through. The group tried booking trips back to New York but most of it were booked through and Claudia couldn’t get a flight back until June 1st. Alex From TennesseeOver the years, 4chan has become notorious for the weird and unusual. A thread in the site started off from an anonymous poster. The poster issued a challenge and offered specific coordinates, saying that in the location specified was a “prize.” A broader view of the locations showed it was likely in an area with three empty and abandoned warehouses in Elizabethton, Tennessee.But there were few takers in the 4chan community. Once they got there, Michael asked his mom if he could go play at the playground which was near the field where the football practice was happening. Even though her mom thought “something was off” she still allowed her son to go but gave him instructions to never leave until his father came to get him. Moments later, when his dad went to the playground to check on him, he wasn’t there. Almost immediately, around 50 people began looking for the young boy. They also notified police but by he was nowhere in sight. Munroe Demon HouseIn the quiet city of Hartford, Indiana, sits a large old-fashioned Victorian style home at 218 North Monroe Street. The home sits alongside historical landmarks and buildings in the area, but this particular house holds a terrifying secret. Known as the Munroe Demon House, this Victoria style home was built during the 19th century when Hartford City was at its infancy. The home showed up in 1892, built on a previously created structure of unknown origin. The first known owners were the Berger Family - Belgian immigrants who came to the city to take advantage of the emerging glass industry. They later became prominent entrepreneurs and leading citizens of Hartford. Shortly after moving in, the patriarch, John B. Daniel Camargo BarbosaKnown as “The Mangrove Monster,” Daniel Camargo Barbosa, was born to a rich family in the small town of Anolaima in the Colombian, Andes. Camargo’s father (who had a similar name to his son) was a local businessman. His mother died when he was two years old and his father remarried for a third time. From a young age, Camargo was already highly intelligent. He did well in school but his father didn’t care. Everytime the young child would reach out to his father, he would be told he was useless and put down. National Soldiers Orphans’ Homestead, Gettysburg Created by Dr. John F. Bourns, the National Soldier’s Orphan’s Homestead stood on the Gettysburg Battlefield. It first opened in October 1866 and was built to accommodate the orphaned children of soldiers who died in the war. Particularly, it was a soldier, Sgt. Amos Humiston, who was found dead on the spot (where the building later stood) clutching a photo of his three small children that became the inspiration for Dr. Bourns to create the orphanage. 2. Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home, Ireland Approximately 796 infants and young children were found buried in a sewer pit, close to what was once Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Ireland in 2017. The home was open from 1925 to 1961 and was run by the Sisters of Bon Secours, a Roman Catholic order financed by the Irish Government. 1. Holy Family Orphanage, Michigan First built in 1915, the Holy Family Orphanage was a dream for many in the Marquette, Michigan area. At the time, the orphanage was built costing between $90,000 to 120,000 - an unheard sum of the time. It had classrooms, bathrooms on every floor and dormitories. They lived in the small peaceful town of Massillon all their lives and have been together over 48 years. Everything seemed fine but in 1984, the couple’s troubles began. They returned home one day to find their home fully ransacked. All their belongings were left lying about everywhere, making a complete mess, but nothing was stolen. Since nothing was missing, the couple kept the incident to themselves and didn’t report it. Later that same year, the couple experienced a similar break-in. Again, nothing was stolen and they thought it was best to not report it. However, when it happened a third time on January 16, 1985, Bill Wacker decided to tell police.2. Corey Scherbey It was August 22, 2011 when Gladys Scherbey went ahead to check on her son, Corey Scherbey, in his home at Chilliwick, British Columbia, Canada. It was a routine visit. But there was something strange this time around. Despite repeated rings on the doorbell and several knocks, Corey never responded. Glady’s decided to let herself inside but what she found would haunt her forever. She found her son, Corey, on his knees, slumped over with his face pressed into the cushions. He was dead. Around the body, was a huge pool of black liquid believed to be blood. She turned over the body and was shocked she couldn’t even recognize her son’s face. She said the face was extremely pale and his eyelids were white. On the floor around the house, she also noticed bloody footprints. Even more, he seemed to be missing ears. Neighbors described the elderly couple as “nice, churchgoing people” but often kept to themselves. 1. Camden Sylvia & Michael SullivanNew Yorkers, Camden Sylvia and her boyfriend, Michael Sullivan shared an apartment in Manhattan, New York. The couple had argued with their landlord, Robert Rodriguez, after he threatened to turn off the heat if his tenants refused to agree on a rent raise. She hasn’t felt rage, grief, anxiety, dread or even fear often associated with pain. For Cameron, the only time she realizes her skin is burning is when she smells it being singed. What’s more, when she recently had to have hip surgery, there were no trigger signs because she didn’t feel pain. Her husband and family noticed she was walking funny and insisted she go to the hospital. Once there, they ran her through X-Ray and foudn her hip to be mangled. Her doctors were amazed she hadn’t complained about pain at all.Dylan RedwineBorn to Mark Redwine and Elaine Hatfield, Dylan Redwine was only 13-years old when he was reported missing in southeastern Colorado on November 2012. The couple was in the middle of a huge divorce and custody battle. The young boy disappeared after he went on a court-ordered visit at his father's home just outside of Durango. According to Mark Redwine, he went out on morning errands on November 19, 2012. When he returned home four hours later, his son, Dylan, was gone. The disappearance triggered hundreds of people to assist in search efforts hoping to find the young boy alive. Peter Moore MurdersIt’s one thing to love horror films, but for British serial killer Peter Moore, he took his love for the character to a whole new level. Moore comes from North Wales. He ran a movie theatre cinema for his daily business and job. A fan of horror films, he was particularly fascinated with Jason Voorhees, the vicious serial killer in the Friday the 13th films. 4. Megan and Harry ToozeIt was in July 1993 at a farmhouse close to Llantrisant, South Wales where an elderly couple, Megan and Harry Tooze were found brutally killed. Tooze (67) and his wife, Megan (65) were discovered dead in a cowshed at their farm. Both were shot in the head with a shotgun and then covered in a carpet. 3. Harry BakerOn the morning of August 28, 2019, police were called at around 5:50 am regarding a disturbance at the Barry Intermodal Terminal in South Wales. When police got there, they discovered the dead body of 17-year old Harry Baker from Cardiff. Baker’s family describes him as a “fun-loving son and brother” who always believed that family time was precious. His family and friends are shocked at what happened and are at a loss for the incident. 2. Karen PriceIt was on July 2, 1981, when 15-year old Karen Price from Cardiff, Wales was last seen. Price, at the time of her disappearance, was living at a residential children’s home. It’s unclear whether she has any parents or relatives who looked for her. 1. Clydach murdersWhen first responders and journalists arrived at the small town of Clydach, they thought they were there to report on a tragic fire. Once there, the two had dinner and her boyfriend, Doug Holmes, walked her out of the door.The next day, Lisa’s parents phoned her boyfriend at his University of Hawaii dorm to tell him she didn’t come home. Holmes headed out to look for her and it was him who found Lisa’s car abandoned at the shoulder of a highway, near Kailua Drive. He reported the finding to the police.#2 Brasher-Dye DisappearanceIt was March 1956 when brothers, Robert Earl Dye (23) and Billy Howard Dye (19) and their cousin, Dan Brasher (38), headed to a party held at Billy’s girlfriend’s house at Jefferson County, Alabama. The trio went to the party on board Billy’s dark green 1947 Ford. While at the party, the three came across a local moonshine bootlegger who, according to the rumors, the brothers had been stealing from. The party went on but around 2:00 AM, several men from the party left, carrying with them pickaxes and shovels. They piled into two vehicles including Billy’s car.
