"He stared down at himself with the same horrified expression. I knew right away he saw it too. As I opened my mouth to say something, he screamed. His feet fell out from under him, and I screamed too as his head hit the edge of the bridge, as I watched him seemingly get pulled straight down into the river." In Great Falls, Montana, some police officers are among those who believe that one of their jail cells is haunted. The Old Cascade County Jail was built in the early 1900s, directly across the street from the west face of the courthouse. Bob Edwards, a Cascade County Sheriff , claims he saw a strange mist floating through through the old cells on a video monitor. It spooked him. And to this day, he has no explanation for it. According to local legend, she was believed to dabble in witchcraft. Or at least that’s what she was accused of. One night, some scared local townspeople decided to form a vigilante lynch mob, and take what they considered to be justice into their own hands. They decided to kill who they believed to be a heretic. And when they made it to her house that night, they grabbed the poor woman, and they hanged her from a tree directly in front of her her home. According to legend, in her last moments, she cursed the house and the surrounding land and still haunts the area today. Summer Camp should be a fun time to hang out with your friends and enjoy your freedom from your parents. It shouldn't be a place that you and your friends find themselves terrified of what comes in the night. In story one, Lynze walks us through a very bizarre summer camp story. After that, she has two more tales, both about haunted houses. The first house appears to very angry when the new owners begin to renovate. It's a classic haunted tale! In story one this week, we go to Beijing! A beautiful and ominous, ivy covered French baroque style mansion sits in a complex with another mansion inside an impressive courtyard in the Dongcheng District of Beijing. Originally built by the American Catholic Church in 1910 and then used from 1930 until 1949 as a Chinese language school to train foreign missionaries, the house then began a long, long period of sitting unoccupied, surrounded by stories of the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman haunting the grounds And now, to Iceland! Hurrá is a popular bar/nightclub in Reykjavik, Iceland. Hurrá doesn’t just make the lists of the best pubs in Reykjavik, it also makes the lists of the “most haunted” spots in all of Iceland. Local lore claims that a young sailor was murdered on the shore where the bar now sits, many centuries ago, and his spirit never seems to have moved from the place where he died. Story three considers the idea that being in touch with the other side might be something passed from one generation to the next when a red bouncing ball appears to multiple in one family. In Dan's half of the show, he takes us to Connecticut! A somewhat hilarious story of a man trying to move his house across a frozen lake leads to the house sinking. And while that is is own kind of horror, the real fun begins when the rumors flare. Supposedly, the house sinks to the bottom of the lake where the piano left inside is now played by ghosts. Turns out, there might be someone under the ice. Then in story number two, we travel to Hong Kong. A sad, tragic story leads to one very scary tale. A young women is brutalize and murdered for stealing from her pimp. After dying at the hands of her torturer, she returns to seek her revenge. Lynze has 3 back to back to back stories that are all just a little bit odd. A UFO sighting that was confirmed by multiple sources, a little girl conjures up a new friend in the mirror and possibly haunted hotel or the very least, a very sketchy situation. "There must have been a hundred sets of glowing eyes in front of them. Some of their figures were only shadows.But some of the closest ones, the ones moving towards them now, they could see their faces. Their bodies. All of them looked malevolent. All of them seemed to be coming directly for them." TW: Dan's second story has a violent story woven into the horror story. Proceed with caution and take care while listening. Toad Road AKA The Seven Gates of Hell is a classic haunting. Dan tells such a great sotry about two teens trying to prove their bravery and prove the rumors to be true. One gate, two gates, three gates, four, five and six... what happens when they cross over the sixth gate? "Their friend said that if you drove through the tunnel at midnight to the hotel and called out the boy’s name… you might see him in your rear-view mirror, running up behind your car, flailing his disjointed limbs as he tried to catch you. " Dan weaves horror this week, telling us about Japanese traditions of Kimodameshi. The folklore that comes out of Japan is possibly some of the best and most terrifying. In the summer months, they celebrate a season of hauntings. What do two friends get themselves into when they try to complete a test of courage? Then back to the states to famously haunted Biltmore Hotel in Miami. A honeymoon gone sideways when a very strong message is sent to the lovebirds that they aren't welcome. A hotel steeped in history and crazy stories, this haunted hotel story is a classic. Lynze knows Dan and others will be divided on her first story, sharing the tale of a possibly powerful crystal that doesn't seem to be doing anyone any good. Can a spirit or entity attach itself so strongly to an item that the affected person just won't abandon it? Then, a really, really tough story of a haunted house that ends in tragedy. CAUTION! "And then Julian felt the temperature drop and that same cold air on his right ear. And now… something new… a finger touching his back.A faint, white glow surrounded him. Something was behind him. He slowly turned around, tears running down his face, lip trembling, coming face to face with a white, womanly figure." Peru! Oh Peru! We have not travelled to this part of the world yet, making this a whole new area of spoops. A couple of teenage kids get far more than they bargained for when they embark on a night time tour of the haunted house of Lunahuaná! Then for a little twist, Dan tells various tales of people who have worked on horror movies and have seen a whole lot more than they bargained for, when the cameras stopped rolling. Lynze has a life long haunting tale to tell of a woman who has been plagued by the same spirit her whole life. It would seem that this spirit showed up in her childhood and never left. Is it possible to carry the same spirit with you, for all of your days? Robert The Doll is a famously haunted doll. He lives in a museum in Florida. If you choose to visit him, there are strict instructions on how you can interact with him. If you don't follow the rules, something bad might happen to you. Patient seemed incredibly lucid, showing no signs of psychosis. Charming, even. I asked about what she was seeing that no one else could see. “It was just a few weeks ago when it started,” she said, still in a neutral, lucid tone. "The odd rashes began coming and going, I felt something… moving… under my skin. I went into the bathroom so I could have the best possible light. It looked like… and now you’re really gonna think I’m crazy - it looked like a tiny little hand pushing against my skin from the inside. And soon, there was a second tiny hand pushing. Like a little person - or creature - inside of me trying to get out." Boy oh boy does Dan have some juicy tales to tell this week! The first story is especially terrifying. What if you could feel something inside of you, trying to get out, but no one believed you? Listen to the tale of woman plagued by what was inside of her and how she may have given it to someone else. Across the pond, is where we visit Alton Towers. Alton Towers have seen much death and tragedy throughout its long history: huge battles, murders, suicides and even a witches curse. Let's dig in on variety of those tales. The Lady of the Locks is Lynze's first tale. A story about a mischievous wife who ran around on her husband and thus, her husband killed her. Or so the story goes. When a diver needs to go down into the lock system, where she supposedly drowned, he isn't sure if what he is seeing during the routine cleaning is his imagination or something more. While we are on the topic of things beneath the earth, let's consider a haunted bomb shelter, left over from days gone by. A high school student is locked in one, underneath his high school. "And it was like the man could sense his fear. His grin got wider, green eyes shining with an evil amusement. If he ran, would the man run after him? Chase him? He’d just have to find out. " The Legend of Old Green Eyes has our taking a journey down south to Georgia! There is a local legend of an unknown soldier who was decapitated after being struck by a cannonball haunting the old battlefield of The Battle of Chickamauga. When a group of professional actors assemble to recreate this battle, it seems to upset Old Green Eyes. Possibly worse than being chased by the likes of a lost soul, is what you might be able to summon in a seance. Two friends get together and attempt to get in touch with someone or something beyond the veil. Just when it feels like they haven't been successful, they hear it, "Hello.... We're here...." and so begins their nightmare with the other side. Nursing homes are inherently creepy so when you add in a haunting and an attachment, it's safe to say there are spoops galore! A nurse seems to have let her curiosity get the best of her and has now opened some kind of ability for a spirit, or two or three, to visit her family. When your eyes play tricks on you, you might want to start trusting yourself. While we often catch glimpses of things that perhaps aren't there, we also, definitely see things that are for sure there. The legend of the Lai Tai (or Lai Thai) is one that will make you nervous to go to sleep at night, if you happen to be a young Thai man. This spirit sweeps through villages in Thailand, capturing the lives of men. Could you be next? Dan tells us all about the Lai Tai this week as a little warm up story. Then he brings us to McCook, Nebraska for the The Tale of the ghost of Devil's Canyon. When two friends embark on a day trip and one friend is really into exploring the paranormal, while the other friend tries to keep them safe, what could possibly go wrong when the creeper friend takes the reins? This is a classic campfire tale and Dan really brings you all of the chills with this one. Lynze has a heavy story to start with. The story is sad, spooky, and uplifting, all at once. "C whirled around, momentarily picking his eyes up from the floor, and he found himself staring straight into the mirror. And directly BEHIND him, he saw a dead man. A dead man who was weirdly blurry around the edges. As C watched, frozen and horrified, blood began to pour out of a hole in the man’s chest, spattering the floor, the walls, and even against C’s clothes" Our first tale is about The Hammersmith Ghost Murder Case! Starting in November 1803, the British citizens of Hammersmith were worried about the typical concerns of daily life we all still worry about - money, health, taxes, family squabbles, neighborhood crime, etc.They were also worried about something not of this world.They worried that something paranormal was going to attack them like it had allegedly already attacked some of their neighbors. Now, in our second story, we explore the lore of other cultures. Every culture in the world has its own unique spin on the supernatural. Every religion has their own demons - or demonic equivalents - including Hinduism. From what we understand, the Hindu religion teaches and warns about three primary groups of evil entities. First the Bhuts [ boots ] also sometimes called bhutas [boo tuhs]. The Bhuts are supernatural creatures - often called ghosts. Usually they are described as being the sprit of a deceased person, often considered to be perturbed and restless due to some factor that prevents the spirit from moving on.Next there are Pretas [ prey-tuhs ] - eternally hungry, zombie-like entities. They are the wandering, tortured souls of those who were false, corrupted, compulsive, deceitful, jealous or greedy in life.These dark entities wander the earth at all times, generally unable to be seen. Always miserable. Always looking to feed.And then there are the Pishachas [ pee shakas]. The worst of the dark spirits. What happens when one encounters a Pishacha? "Take my hand, Kira. You don’t want to make me mad do you? I’ve waited too long already” “Please,” Kira whispered, frozen in place, “you’re scaring me.” “I know,” said the man, flashing a predator’s toothy grin - “That’s why you come here, right? This story explores the concepts of the multiverse, an idea explored by many people. Could it be possible that our lives as we know them are only iteration of our lives? What would you do if everything you knew to be true, to be fact, was taken away from you? It's such a bizarre concept to dig into a new topic for some big creep factor on Scared To Death. It's Dan's second story that throws Lynze into a tizzy. Have you ever been in an amusement park and felt yourself overcome with fear of being lost? Or worse, being kidnapped? This story has so many layers of scares, there is no way you listen to it and get a good nights rest. Lynze brings three stories this week for a smattering of shadow people tales. "The mysterious man now noticed their headlights and turned to face them. He was hunched over, collar up, shielding himself from the rain. It looked like he was wearing some kind of long, shabby black coat.While continuing to stare at them, he took a few steps forward, and Sarah flinched back into her seat.Something was off. Who was this guy? No normal person would be standing on the overlook at this time of night, would they? Where was his car?" Dan has two truly creeptastic tales for you this week! He starts off with a bizarre and deadly plane crash that ends with the pilot going missing. But what if he isn't really missing, well, not really? Rumor has it that the ghost of Larry Stevens continues to haunt highway 107 in Greenville, South Carolina. It's entirely possible that a young couple not only saw him but gave him a ride, one dark and stormy night. Keeping the spoops going, Dan takes us up to Canada for tale of the possibly haunted school, Humber Heights Consolidated. The school had been used to house the dead after a hurricane struck the town in 1954. All of these years later, it would appear that some of those who were stored in the temporary morgue never did move on. "A strange and satisfied smile then appeared on his face and he asked, “Did you play with Masha?” He paused and then added, “Maybe she’s bored.” At that moment, the familiar sound of Masha’s music box rang through their home and Elvira jumped up in fear. Yuri also seemed afraid and he too stared at the doll in disbelief. Anatoly was unfazed. He was smiling now. “See…” he said calmly, “she’s just bored.” He then went over to the sofa to sit by the doll while his father held his trembling mother in his arms." Dan has two very odd and interesting stories this week! He starts off with the tale of The Dorothea Puente Murder House. This story is similar to a lot of the haunted tales that begin with murders we’ve told, but maybe scarier than most because while it’s typically the VICTIM or the VICTIMS of the murder that haunt a dwelling, in this tale, there’s seem to be some pretty good evidence that the killer that once roamed the rooms of the Dorothea Puente Murder House taking lives, may still be there today, possibly still taking lives. Then for story two, Dan covers some new ground by taking us to Russia for the creepiest doll story you have ever heard. It's disturbing on so many levels. We can't give to much away here so tune in to find out why the dolls are so very creepy! Lynze balances out the second half of the show with three tales, all with the theme of children. "And then soon, they went from concerned to outright scared when Kristine walked into the kitchen one day to see Natalia pouring Pine-Sol into Kristine’s coffee. Kristine says she ran over and stopped her immediately, hoping, praying, that Natalia was just messing around. But then when she asked Natalia what she was doing, she said that Natalia replied, “I’m trying to kill you.” " Dan takes us down a strange and peculiar story hole this week. His two stories are a bit off the beaten path. He starts with the story of a family who adopts a Ukrainian girl only to find out, she might not be who or what she claims to be. A lot of people have drawn a comparison between this story and the movie, "The Orphan". The movie existed before this strange occurrence, so who knows if the family was overreacting because they had seen the movie or if they were inspired to eliminate a threat to their family, quickly, because of the movie. The second story from Dan takes us to Pyramid Lake for some really peculiar details. From giant fish to water babies, Pyramid Lake seems to have some very interesting things living, or not so living, just under the water. Carrying on the theme of the strange and unexplained, Lynze has two juicy tales. The first one is of a haunted house. Perhaps the house didn't need to feel creepy, it could have been a kind spirit but it all took a turn for the south with a simple touch. Did this family accidentally invite something in when they began a remodel? You will think twice about painting your room after this one! In her second story, Lynze has a good old fashioned tale of the monster under the bed. Everyone has felt that kind of fear as a child but what would you do if you actually saw it? And she started speaking to her husband in that same foreign voice - a voice that was angry this time... And then this voice gave him the names — AND the phone numbers — of four different people Teresita knew who could identify this jewelry as belonging to Teresita. And then the voice, after urging him again to PLEASE contact the authorities - it went away again. His wife snapped out of her trance. " It's a bizarre episode of Scared to Death! Dan has two rather interesting stories that walk the fine line between true crime (which they are, for sure) and paranormal (which they might be, who knows?!). Dan kicks off the show with a very well documented death of Cindy Elizabeth Hack James. It's a topsy turvy twister. Cindy is a women who someone wants dead, but whom, or what, is after her? For SEVEN years, Cindy is harassed, attacked, stalked and eventually killed. But who is the killer? Then, in the second story of the show, Dan is certain he has evidence of the paranormal and after life. When a middle aged woman is found dead in her apartment, with no signs of forced entry and no enemies to speak of, it's just the beginning of the most bizarre murder mystery. Teresita was a popular and well liked woman, so when she turned up dead, the questions began swirling. Police would never have predicted just how they would solve this case. It would appear that Teresita was uninterested in finding eternal rest, until she brought her killer to justice, even from beyond the grave. This singular tale has Lynze somewhat excited for what might exist, beyond this world. Listen in closely and follow the details of this Scared To Death: Unsolved Mysteries episode. "He crawled up on top of where she lay. He sat down on her chest and stared into her eyes. And she could now see he wasn’t a little boy at all. He was something… else. Something dark and dead - a ghost of some kind. A monster. She actually told mom she thought he was a monster. And this little monster placed his hand on her chest this time, just below her neck and she felt the cold again. Colder than before. And she felt the fear. It was heavier than before." Dan brings a whole new kind of terror to his first story this week. What seems like your typical story of an older person starting to forget things and misplace things leads to a horrifying reality of no one believing an elderly woman about the "bad little boy" she keeps seeing. He comes to her, when she is in bed and alone, in the middle of the night. He whispers to her. He wants to take her. No one believes her and her nightmare takes a deadly turn. For story number two, Dan takes us to Cumae Archaeological Park, into dark tunnels. There are many mysteries and legends surrounding Cumae. When two young, broke college kids embark on a journey into the hidden parts of Cumae, they believe they are in the trusting hands of their tour guide. However, their tour guide has something very different in mind; he is looking for a different kind of gratuity for his hard work. Lynze opens her half of the show with a not so scary tale but a tale that makes you ask lots of questions, none the less. Reincarnation. Do you believe that we can come back to this world, even after we leave it? A sweet little boy seems to know far too much about things he couldn't know. His family is confused by the knowledge he possesses but they aren't scared. They are hopeful that this youngster is just a former family member. Then, in story two, Lynze takes us on a wild, wild haunted house ride. You will, for sure, need to suspend your rational self to accept this as reality. This weeks episode is EXTRA special!! Dan and Lynze recorded on the road, from one of the most haunted cities in America, NEW ORLEANS!! Dan and Lynze love NOLA, which is no secret. This week the pair was on the road and wanted to try out recording an episode while away from their recording studio in Coeur D'Alene, ID. As the world starts to reopen, Dan will be touring again for stand up, so now seemed like the perfect time to test out the traveling recording kit! If you're considering watching this episode on YouTube, note that this entire episode is in complete 360 degrees! With that out of the way, get ready for four stories that all take place in New Orleans! Does is get any spoopier than NOLA themed stories, recorded in NOLA. "Guests began to witness what they would later think was the Chef’s ghost in the dining rooms or near the front door. Sometimes smiling at a guest. A few even claimed he asked them if they’d enjoyed their meal. Does the Chef not know he’s dead? Has his love for Brennan’s tied him to the building? Is there something paranormally “sticky” about the location, for lack of a better term, that allowed hi spirit to be bound?" Dan has a great story to kick off the episode, about one of NOLA's most well known families, The Brennan's. The Brennan's own many restaurants in New Orleans and thus, have a hold on some of the oldest buildings. When one of their top chefs passes away, it would appear he is not quite ready to hang up his chef's hat. In his second story, Dan shares the tale of Louis Congo, a former slave turned executioner, and one man's possible encounter with him. Louis was freed from slavery only to be subjected to a whole different kind of hell. Did Louis enjoy torturing and killing people? Is it possible that his spirit still haunts Jackson Square, awaiting another person to break on the wheel? Lynze also has two very intense New Orleans stories. Taking place very near Jackson Square, a fan submits a story that begins at the Moon Walk. A security guard has the strangest encounter with someone that he can see but more importantly, can small. Is this a vision, a spirit or a homeless person? Stick with the story to find out if whatever it is, has the ability to leave the Moon Walk and follow the security guard to another location. In her second story, we offer a TW about suicide. Lynze shares the story of the NOLA Cannibal. Perhaps you have heard this tale. A story of drug use and mental illness combined with love and the aftermath of Katrina, a man murders and chops up his former lover, cooking and preserving her body. "One of the most intense incidents was when Ernie sat doing his schoolwork at the dining room table and he thought he saw movement from the side of the stove. "In 1947, three supervisors all turned up missing one afternoon. They were found unconscious and locked in a small boiler room in the southeastern part of the plant. None of them could explain exactly what had happened to them. But all three agreed they’d been approached by a man they didn’t know shortly before they blacked out. A man whose skin appeared badly burned and who angrily shouted at them “to push some steel.” What if your workplace was haunted? What if the ghost haunting your work was a former boss and he meant you harm? That is the story Dan weaves in his first half of episode 82. Dan takes us to Alabama to hear the story of the supposedly haunted Sloss Furnaces factory and their most famous resident ghost, James "Slag" Wormwood. For the second story of the first half of the show, Dan takes us over to Rhode Island to hear the story of a young woman so riddled with guilt to keeps trying to contact the dead to gain forgiveness. This particular story was reported to Ed and Lorraine Warren's New England Society for Psychic Research, back in the late '50s. When two young friends experience a tragedy while playing on the jungle gym, one of the friends dies. As the years go by, who is haunted? Is it the friend who is living, dealing with the guilt, or is the deceased always trying to reach out? Going for a whole new fan base, Lynze tells a tale submitted by an LDS listener. While on a mission in Mexico, does this elder come into contact with a spirit while witnessing a possible possession? If so, could it be that this spirit has taken up residency with the elders who witnessed its banishment? Stay till the end for an interesting detail as told by another elder. Moving from Mexico to the middle of nowhere suburbia, Lynze transports us to a haunted station. When a young man is working the graveyard shift at the local radio station, of course, he invites his friends to come hang out. One of his friends wants to practice his musical talents and records his jam session. "Something was moving towards them - coming from down the hall. Carlos swore he could see something back in the shadows. Whipping their flashlights around - they DID see something. They all three saw a small, dark, evil creature quickly approaching them from no more than twenty feet away…" This weeks Scared To Death is truly unlike any other episode! Dan and Lynze welcome a VERY special guest, Mustafa Gatollori from A&E's Ghost Hunters! The episode begins with Dan sharing the tale of the Worley Hospital in Pampa, Texas. The iconic Worley Hospital has been abandoned for many years after originally being built in 1929 to accommodate the fast growing oil town. Two cousins decided to buy the building with hopes of turning it into a B&B. Those hopes and dreams come to a halt when both cousins begin to experience paranormal activity. Dan and Lynze will talk to Mustafa about how he and his team explored the hospital to try and help the cousins out. But before that happens, Dan has another frightening encounter in the Worley Hospital to share. Three young friends break into the old building after hearing tales of its haunted hallways for years. They don't last very long. Between the rats and the faint giggling of someone who isn't really there, the friends get their fill and make a run for it. After chatting with Mustafa, Lynze takes us back to our usual content. She has two stories this week. The first story is told by a fan who thought she and her friends were just making up an imaginary friend only to find out they may have brought something else to life. "After having spent a night in room 314, a doctor and his wife mentioned an encounter with something paranormal at checkout one morning. The doctor had been awakened several times by a gentle tickling sensation on his feet in the middle of the night. In his sleepy state he was convinced that the comforter or the sheets were somehow responsible for the sensation of something lightly brushing his feet. But then, the final time it occurred, he looked down to distinctly see a little girl tickling his feet. He said she smiled and then vanished." The first story takes place at The Hampton Lillibridge House, which partially set the stage for Tale of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. A really bizarre story with many deaths that lead up to one final, incredibly questionable death. Then, we stay put in Savannah to hear about the children that haunt The Marshall Hotel. A young child has multiple encounters within their home but everything seemed friendly. That is, until one day, when the young child finds themself face to face with a floating being. "Fast forward about a year and one night… when you were just a little baby, I overheard your mom and the guy in charge talking about how ‘now the sacrifice needed to be made. And you were mentioned. Long story short, you were supposed to be the payment made to whatever we’d brought into the world that night. This guy was telling your mom that it was ‘almost time,’ and your mom…. she seemed… OKAY with it all." In episode 79, Dan has a story based on some lost footage and a story about sleeping with the dead. In story one, we hear the sad and tragic story of Peter, a young boy who loses his parents and is sent to live with his grandparents. Upon turning 16, Peter's grandparents give him six tapes that contain footage he was not prepared for. Peter's father had prerecorded a series of 6 tapes that contain very important instructions for Peter to follow, in order to keep him safe. In each tape, Peter must recite a prayer for protection. Or is it? Are his dad's intentions simple and pure: leave a message for his son from beyond the grave? Tune in to hear Peter's side of the story. Dan's second tale is a well-documented and bizarre story. When a man's wife passes away unexpectedly, he isn't quite ready to say goodbye. Is he possessed by the spirit of his wife? Has she compelled him to ignore his vow of till death do us part so that they might be together... forever? A doppelgänger double feature wraps up the back half of the show. Lynze attempts to get under Dan's skin by talking about two very different but very disturbing instances of possible doppelgänger encounters. In her first story, she tells the tale of a young girl and her grandmother both witnessing and talking to her younger brother. When he vanishes into thin air, both assume he's playing games. As the evening progresses and the young boy is still unable to be located, fear sets in. It's only after the boy's mother confirms that the young boy is at his father's that both grandma and granddaughter come to realize that they may have encountered something not of this world. Was there a glitch in the matrix or did a doppelgänger appear before a man, posing as his wife? When the young husband wakes up to see his wife scurrying off to the restroom, he doesn't think much of it, until he notices her stilted stride. Upon further investigation, his wife is nowhere near the bathroom. How did she get to the bedroom without him knowing? Was she there all along? "She’d later tell investigators, who were still trying to catch Phillip’s killer, that she was hearing noises coming from inside the walls of the home. Scratching, rattling noises. She sometimes could hear what sounded like someone breathing. Or someone whispering. The police came over to investigate…. and found nothing. A few days later, the nurse called them again. The tale of The Watcher just about put Lynze over the edge. Dan told a very well documented story that would not traditionally fall under the paranormal category but then again, maybe it does. A couple buys a new home, their dream home in fact, only to find out that someone else does not want them to be there. Or do they want them to be there so they can get the "young blood" of their children? The story is terrifying, overwhelming and will add a new reason to be scared. In the second story, Dan goes back to a more traditional story as he shares the tale of a possible shadow person. When a family is certain that they all live in a haunted house, it's really hard to ignore the possibility of a shadow person that can be confirmed by family members and friends alike. Lynze has two stories that somehow feel connected, carrying on the theme of shadow people and what lurks in the dark. "And I started to fall asleep. And then, when I was about half-asleep, laying on my side facing the window, it felt like someone crawled into bed behind me. As I started to wake up and roll over, not really expecting to see anyone, I felt hands on my upper back and I started to panic. I suddenly thought that someone else really was in my bed with me. My mind raced, wondering how they could have gotten in so quietly? Were they already hiding in the closet or something when I entered the room? Was I going to die?" The Salem Witch Trials, kind of. Dan explores the spirits who may still be hanging around, all these years later. He starts off with plenty of history about Salem and the Witch Trials, which is really quite fascinating. The locale of the story takes place in the Joshua Ward House AKA The Merchant Hotel, where you can tempt fate and stay the night. Would you dare to stay there and risk being strangled by a ghost? From Salem, Dan takes us down to Georgia for a more salacious, sexy, steamy story about the Corpsewood Manor. If you let you kids listen to this show and you have any qualms about sex, you might want to skip this one! We hear the story of Dr. Charles Scudder and his bizarre departure from his "normal" life and the hedonistic life he seeks. A chicken coup, a sex dungeon and wild orgies seem to be at the center of this bizarre story where true crime and horror tales collide. During Lynze's portion of the episode, she lighten's things up a tiny bit with a creepy but funny story about a possible cult sighting. The story itself takes place in the deep woods of Atlanta, Michigan which may conjure up memories of Dice Rd. What happens when you mix booze, teenagers and cultiness? For her second story, we travel to Hawaii. Lynze reveals that she thinks Hawaii might be one of the most spiritual places in the US, due to the Polynesian culture. I could hear him coming after me. He kept letting out these muffled screams.” We are off to Australia, if you believe it's real, for the story of a very famous haunted cave, the Jenolan Caves. Many of us go on tours while we are on vacation. What if you went on a tour and you were the only person who could see an extra tourist, also on the tour? Keeping in theme with adventures you might go on, Dan attempts to make the woods and hiking a NO-GO for Lynze. In an undisclosed location, there is a "man" with no face, making people disappear. Is he real? Are people disappearing? What kind of control does he have over them that keeps people in the woods for days. Listen in and decided if you still want to spend time in the woods. Lynze tells one, long, harrowing tale of a FOR SURE haunted house in Colorado. When the new owners move in, all is well for quite some time. There was only one warning sign on moving day- all of the windows were lined with foil, from the inside out. After two years of small but harmless signs of someone or something being in the family home, things escalate. A truly intense and terrifying way to contact the other is the basis for Dan's first story this week. He takes us on a journey of three friends who dabble in the occult and find that it's much scarier than they ever thought. Keeping up with the tradition that Dan and Lynze set up last year when Dan told the tale of the Smee, we’ll go back a little further to the Victorian Era of England when ghost stories were extremely popular in the UK, and again, when they were most popular around Christmas. Christmas ’twas the season for horror in the mid and late 19th century for many British Empire nations. Stick around until the end of the story which will leave you wondering who is who?! "Recognizing that something abnormal was happening, Steven grabbed his tablet and began filming his wife. “Excuse me, Omar,” she said. “Did you just drop off that other woman?”“What other woman?” said Omar. Kathy thought he was joking for a moment and then realized he was 100 % serious. She was so confused. She had CLEARLY seen another woman in the backseat with her. She’d looked at several times. She was only two feet away sitting there plain as day. “The woman who was sitting right beside me just a few minutes ago. Blonde hair, blue short sleeved shirt.” Omar turned the radio down. “No, ma’am,” he said. “There was no other woman there.” The tales that Dan weaves this week are top notch. "The feeling of being watched returned. It wasn’t an unusual feeling to get, out in a country road. Animals were often watching from the bushes, deer or sometimes even mountain cats… but this was different. The thing that watching him felt…. smart. Dave couldn’t explain how. It just did.Then, from inside the house, he heard a crash rang out. And then he heard something else that make his skin crawl. It didn’t sound sinister exactly, not at first. But he definitely didn’t like it… a low chanting. Followed by the sound of a baby crying. “What the Hell was going on tonight?,” he wondered. Was there a full moon? Two full moons somehow? On today's show, Dan takes us all to one of the strangest places we have ever gone on Scared to Death, The Island of the Dolls. Why in the world would a man just up and leave him family to live, alone and secluded, on an island that he then COVERS in dolls? After years of living on the island, why does this man turn up dead? What have others discovered when visiting The Island of the Dolls? Are the dolls alive? Possessed? Is it all in their imaginations? From Mexico City, Dan takes us to Colorado. More specifically, we are going to Riverdale Road. This road is know by many to be extremely haunted. Listen to Dan share a tale of three credible witnesses who are lured in by the spirit of women with a decaying face, a woman who tries to burn them alive. Lynze pulls us back to more traditional stories. She also starts in Mexico and shares a long standing family story from a fan. Carrying on the theme of family stories, Lynze shares a tale from Donna, Dan's little sister, and her creepy kids. The gait wouldn’t sound quite right for a person.She’d heard an ominous, menacing, slow shuffle. And it would be accompanied by other unsettling noises - like the sound someone dragging something - scraping something - slowly across the wall. She’s feel the energy of the whole hosuse shift when she heard all this. It felt more observant somehow. It felt alive." For the first time in Scared To Death history, NO ANNOUNCEMENTS! Woohoo! Kicking it right off with the good stuff, Dan dives into the story of The Haunting of Doris Bither which was the inspiration for the 1978 novel and the 1983 movie, The Entity. It's an interesting and well documented story. How would you react if 30 people crammed into your bedroom and witnessed the paranormal activity you had been claiming was ruining your life? Does that make it real? Listen in to hear this juicy and tragic tale! In Dan's second tale, he explores the possibility of a supposed Ghost Ship, the Mary Celeste. That's not a ship haunted by ghosts but rather, a ship that is found out at sea with no signs of life or death! In Lynze's half of the show, she shares not two but three tales this week! She starts out with a story that will make you think about how old a ghost might be and if ghosts come back to visit on the anniversary of their deaths. In story number two, we head up to visit our friends in Canada to hear the story of The Raven House, a house that might make you wonder if good ghosts and bad ghosts have some kind of relationship in their world. Can a good ghost protect you from a bad ghost? In the final story of the show, Lynze brings back a favorite kind of spirit, the jinn (also, djinn). "Just then on the opposite side of my room, I watched this dark, smoky, human-like form crawl up my wall, each step it took made a tsssss (like water on a frying pan sound) and smoke was coming from each hand and foot connection with my wall." This week Dan takes from England to Malaysia, such a fun show! To kick off the show, Dan shares an old but interesting tale from Raynham Hall. Did a pair of photographers catch The Brown Lady (it's a reference to her dress!) ascending the stairs? Can it really be proven? What happens when its been centuries of people seeing a ghost; does it make it more possible. Lynze really buys into the idea that this ghost is real. From there, we pop over to Malaysia to learn the folkloric tale of the penanggalan- a bodyless woman whose insides trail behind her as she attacks her victims. Is she real? Listen as two very logical people have a strange and frightening encounter with what they believe to be a penanggalan. In the back half of the show, Lynze has one heck of a creepy story about something haunting a child. While the story has a slow start make sure you stay tuned for the MAJOR plot twist!
