It has been home to a LOT of murders, suicides, accidental deaths, and paranormal mysteries over the years. And at least two serial killers have called it home WHILE they were killing. An anonymous ghost hunter and true crime junkie decided to stay there herself and got the scares of a lifetime. For Dan's next story, we’ll explore three separate locations all around Oregon’s Nehalem Bay, another haunted hotel, an urban legend, and some cursed treasure. Whoever posted this tale never gave an exact location and there are several hotels around the country that have had the name “Sunway Hotel.” It’s a nice twist on the creepy haunted hotel story. The next story is about a mythical creature from Mayan mythology - the Alux, a creepy little creature some people still believe in - like the current President of Mexico. Probably doesn’t sound too terrifying. The urban legend of Click… Clack… Slide… I don’t want to spoil what that represents, but I’m guessing that many of our listeners have heard a version of this story - like Curtis - when they were kids. Can a monster be both a manufactured urban legend AND something you could truly encounter. That’s what we play around with in this story. Then, a man who was horrifying in real life continues to haunt people even after his death: John Wayne Gacy. A spirit that seems to feed off all of this torment and make it worse seems to be attacking a family. Then the infamous legend of the Dover Demon. Cryptid? Alien? Hoax? Did four teenagers really seem some sort of monster in a Massachusetts town just outside of Boston in the Spring of 1977? Then in the back half, Lynze shares a new "thing", a tulpa. Dan's first story is set in Portland, Oregon, centered around Portland’s underground “shanghai tunnels.” There are miles of tunnels underneath Portland that connect it to the Willamette River - once used to transport goods in and out of the city and to ocean going ships. These tunnels also, SUPPOSEDLY, were used for human trafficking. Sailors getting “Shanghai’d” - kidnapped and forced to work at sea. Women getting forced into prostitution and shipped around the world. Some think this stuff never actually happened in Portland, others think it was frequent. Let's see what is out there. Then for Dan's second tale, the Cherokee legend of The Raven Mocker - a strange, evil spirit and the most feared of the Cherokee witches. Lynze has two stories for you this week!
