When I was on my local school board I learned all about how the last time we, America, had significant reform in public education was when JFK decided we were going to the moon. Now we have a president that is trying to take public education back to before that time and wants to build a nuclear power plant on the moon.It’s so ridiculous that it must be a feeble attempt to distract us from the Epstein file problem he has. Once upon a time in America, people were proud to pay their taxes. Somehow, the rich have convinced us that taxes are an evil burden instead of a patriotic necessity in order to provide for the general welfare. Politicians of every stripe are always quick to promise to cut our taxes even though we really don’t pay a high tax rate on our income.Maybe if we can once again make paying taxes something to be proud of, we will find politicians with the political will to raise taxes on the rich.Just a thought. I know, this is a political podcast so why am I devoting my 3rd episode to review a book written by my friend? It’s a good and fair question.When I started this podcast, one of my goals was to find and explore politics on Main St. America in a way that others don’t. I think this episode fulfills that goal.
