I don’t know if this is my best episode or not but I know it’s one of my favorites so far. When I started editing to try and get it down to a 20-30 minute version for free subscribers and a longer one for paid subscribers, I was able to cut about 10 minutes and I’m at just under an hour. One of the goals of my podcast is to expose people to the idea that politics is all of us and not what we see portrayed on TV. I think Steve is a great example of that. He’s using his intellect and his experience to study our history, couple it with our current reality, and inform people. This is a part of our political process that folks don’t think about as being a part of the process. When I was on my local school board I learned all about how the last time we, America, had significant reform in public education was when JFK decided we were going to the moon. Once upon a time in America, people were proud to pay their taxes. Somehow, the rich have convinced us that taxes are an evil burden instead of a patriotic necessity in order to provide for the general welfare. Politicians of every stripe are always quick to promise to cut our taxes even though we really don’t pay a high tax rate on our income.Maybe if we can once again make paying taxes something to be proud of, we will find politicians with the political will to raise taxes on the rich.Just a thought. Between the first video I posted online about a year ago until now, I haven’t worked on a video as much as I worked on this one. It only took me about 8 times to come up with a recording I could live with. I don’t like to script my videos but felt it was necessary on these so I didn’t leave out important parts. I very much wanted to record it outside sitting by my cactus but the weather was determined to make me do it inside.This video is the punctuation at the end of my Trump Tax series.
