After his phony filibuster, I received an email asking for money before Cory Booker left the Capitol. So I unsubscribed. I’m sure if I hadn’t, I would have received another one today after his obviously staged outrage about the police funding bill. His repeated pattern of getting angry for a headline, asking for donations, and then not offering anything solid to move the ball toward the endzone is damaging our chances of taking the House and/or Senate in 2026. Once upon a time in America, people were proud to pay their taxes. Somehow, the rich have convinced us that taxes are an evil burden instead of a patriotic necessity in order to provide for the general welfare. Politicians of every stripe are always quick to promise to cut our taxes even though we really don’t pay a high tax rate on our income.Maybe if we can once again make paying taxes something to be proud of, we will find politicians with the political will to raise taxes on the rich.Just a thought. Between the first video I posted online about a year ago until now, I haven’t worked on a video as much as I worked on this one. It only took me about 8 times to come up with a recording I could live with. I don’t like to script my videos but felt it was necessary on these so I didn’t leave out important parts. I very much wanted to record it outside sitting by my cactus but the weather was determined to make me do it inside.This video is the punctuation at the end of my Trump Tax series. It’s eight parts but if I kept track of every time I recorded then deleted then recorded I reckon it would add up to close to 100 takes. I know, this is a political podcast so why am I devoting my 3rd episode to review a book written by my friend? We must get more people involved. If you know somebody who is prone to say, “I don’t care about politics”, show them this video. Also, we’ve let down our younger generation is far too many ways already. We’ve saddled them with unaffordable health care and housing. We’ve left them with low-paying jobs and out-of-reach education.
