I know, I know. You prefer shorter episodes. But what do I do when I have a candidate for Congress that answers the questions with actual, substantive answers?This episode features Erin Petrey. She’s one of four Democrats in the primary to run for Congress in Kentucky’s 6th Congressional district. I recently posted a video about this race and declared all four candidates to be “empty suits”. Then I invited them to come on my podcast and prove me wrong. I had 10 questions for her and was hoping that it would go relatively quickly. 90 minutes later, I learned that you can’t do 10 question in 20-30 minutes. Dad believed in God but didn’t believe in religion. I remember the day I asked him about it. We we on top of a mountain taking a break on our trail ride. I asked if he believed in God and he said yes. Then I asked why we didn’t go to church. He said, “look around. Look at where we are. We’re in church.” I tried reading the whole Bible but couldn’t get past the guys living 800 years or past the question of where Adam and Eve’s kids found wives if everybody came from Adam and Eve. Having said that, I believe the Bible could be a great instrument for good if there weren’t so many people using it as a weapon against others. This is a public episode.
