097: When We Feel Far from God
Have you ever been at a place where you feel far from God but aren't sure what to do about it? Maybe you pray to God and feel like it stops at the ceiling, or maybe you feel like you've done everything for God but don't feel God presence in your every day life. So many Christians are walking away from God because of feeling far from God, but what should we do? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller share some of their own stories about feeling far from God. Using the Bible, they look at the promises of God and what it means to have faith, all while giving some pointers and tips on what to do when you feel far from God. In this episode, we also talk about one of our giveaways for episode 100! //Other Episodes You May Enjoy// 091: Should We Fight to Get God Back Into Schools?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/091-should-we-fight-to-get-god-back-into-schools/ 085: Focus: Why am I a Christian?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/085-focus-why-am-i-a-christian/ 075: Becoming a Peacemaker: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/075-becoming-a-peacemaker/ 051: The Importance of Prayer: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/051-the-importance-of-prayer/ 044: What does it mean to “find your identity in Christ?”: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/044-what-does-it-mean-to-find-your-identity-in-christ/ 007: The Untamable Tongue: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/007-the-untamable-tongue/ //Helpful Links// Lifeway Christian Resources: https://bit.ly/3qka4Wv Got Questions?: https://bit.ly/3vSMJfq Dwell Bible App: https://bit.ly/3zUYq8E Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://bit.ly/3h19isZ RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

096: Idolatry in the Church
Idolatry is often thought of as bowing down and worshipping wooden statues, but what if we told you that idolatry is still present in today’s evangelical church? Would you believe us? In this week’s episode of RTC, Marc & Fuller discuss idolatry in the church, and ask if it’s as present as some people seem to believe. More than that, they try to figure out what would be some common idols that are creeping into today’s church. //Links Mentioned in This Episode// https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/how-to-expose-the-idols-in-your-life/ https://ericgeiger.com/2016/01/three-common-idols-in-churches/ //Other Episodes You May Enjoy// 089: 7 Deadly Sins, Lust: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/089-7-deadly-sins-lust/ 081: 7 Deadly Sins, Pride: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/081-the-seven-deadly-sins-pride/ 070: Do Churches Need Pastors?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/070-do-churches-need-pastors/ 057: Un-Christians Celebrities: Do their materials still matter?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/057-unchristian-ed-celebrities-do-their-materials-still-matter/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

095: Do Our Works Follow Us After Death?
Do our works follow us after death? Growing up in church, you may have heard that the only things that lasts for forever are God and the souls of men, but what about our works that were done here on this earth? If our works don’t matter, than why should we love our neighbor or look after widows and orphans in their distress? What do we do with the passages in the Bible that say that each person is to be judged according to his or her works (Romans 2:6)? Do works matter or do they not? In this episode, Marc and Fuller set out to answer these questions and other revolving around our works here in this life and what they mean in the life to come. // Links Mentioned in This Episode // Halloween Episode 14: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/014-the-halloween-episode/ We Will.... statement from White Stone Church: https://whitestonechurch.org/about/we-will // Other Episodes You May Enjoy // 001: Does my past effect my future: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/001-does-my-past-effect-my-future/ 022: Finding God’s Will for My Life: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/022-finding-gods-will-for-your-life/ 024: Christians & Doubt: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/024-christians-doubt/ 032: Getting saved only to escape hell: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/032-getting-saved-only-to-escape-hell/ 038: Can one love without God: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/038-can-one-love-without-god/ // Helpful Links // Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

094: Is Baptism Essential?
Is baptism essential? Most Christians would emphatically say “YES!” but we’ve noticed that to what extent is baptism essential is not always agreed upon. For example, is baptism essential for salvation? For growing in one’s faith? For washing away original guilt? For entrance into heaven? For acceptance into a faith community? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller start in the Old Testament and work their way through the New Testament in looking for the true meaning of baptism because if we find the purpose of baptism, maybe we can find out why it’s been so important throughout church history and why it’s such a big deal in today‘s church. //Links// Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology: Systematic Theology, Second Edition: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine https://www.amazon.com/dp/0310517974/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_TXYSSNBBZH4SG9MZ6NCZ Millard Erickson’s Systematic Theology: Introducing Christian Doctrine https://www.amazon.com/dp/0801049199/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_1Q6QXTYGZ87WVWD2QJ2Z John Piper articLe on the relation between baptism and circumcision: https://www.desiringgod.org/messages/how-do-circumcision-and-baptism-correspond //Other Episodes You May Enjoy// 086: The Catechism of Communion: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/086-the-catechism-of-communion/ 076: The Rapture of the Church: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/076-the-rapture-of-the-church/ 060: How Should Christians Study the Bible: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/060-how-should-we-study-the-bible/ 054: What to do about Bible Translator: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/054-what-to-do-about-bible-translations/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

093: Are the Gifts of the Spirit for Today?
Is the gift of tongues still for today? What about healings? Prophecy? Does the Holy Spirit still bless Christians with every spiritual gift mentioned in the Bible, or are certain gifts no longer given? Questions around the gifts of the Spirit have been asked by many Christians over the centuries and many answers have been given, yet, a general consensus has never been reached as exactly how spiritual gifts operate in today’s church. In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller break down the general views on how the gifts of the spirit operate today, while giving their own opinions on this topic, all through the lens of Scripture. //Links used in this episode// https://www.christianpost.com/amp/do-spiritual-gifts-still-exist.html //Other episode you may enjoy// 038: Can One Love Without God? https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/038-can-one-love-without-god/ 032: Getting Saved to Only Escape Hell? https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/032-getting-saved-only-to-escape-hell/ 022: Finding God’s Will for your Life: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/022-finding-gods-will-for-your-life/ 012: Christians and Game of Thrones: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/012-christians-and-game-of-thrones/ 007: The Untamable Tongue: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/007-the-untamable-tongue/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

092: How Should Christians Approach Transgenderism?
In the last handful of years, conversations around transgenderism have grown to common place to the point where the church now has to ask a question, "How should we think and respond to this movement?" In answering this question and others around the LGBTQ+ community, the church is starting to draw lines in the sand and separating from one another. In doing such, many individual Christians are beginning to also ask questions about transgenderism. In this episode RTC, Marc and Fuller step into this question with looking to the Bible for answers because if we believe that God created us, we need to see just how he created each person. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 038: Can One Love Without God?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/038-can-one-love-without-god/ 029: Can we have both faith & science?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/029-can-we-have%E2%80%A9-both-faith-%E2%80%A9science/ 021: Should we have Unbelievers in Mind when designing the Sunday Morning Worship Service?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/021-should-we-have-unbelievers-in-mind-when-designing-the-sunday-morning-worship-service/ 019: When the Church Hurts You: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/019-when-the-church-hurts-you/ 011: Parenting in the Digital Age with Justin Herman: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/011-parenting-in-the-digital-age-with-justin-herman/ 010: Gay & Christian Conversation: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/010-gay-christian-conversation/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

091: Should We Fight to Get God Back Into Schools?
At some point in your life, you've probably heard the statement that "the nation is going down the tube because we kicked God out of the public schools," or something similar. Is this really the case though? Did the government kick God out, and are we really in trouble because the Bible and prayer have been taken out of the public school? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss this topic and ask questions such as, "Should Christians view the government taking Christianity out of the public school "persecution" or wrong?" "Should Christians fight to keep Muslim beliefs out of the Christian school?" and "Should teachers and coaches be allowed to teach their beliefs and convictions?" We trust that this conversation gets you thinking and wondering how we can focus on keeping God in the lives of everyday people. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 064: Can Christians Be Political?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/064-can-christians-be-political/ 043: If You Could Ask God One Question: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/043-if-you-could-ask-god-one-question/ 015: Conversation with Paul Lindgreen: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/015-conversation-with-paul-lindgreen/ 013: Youth Sports vs The Church: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/013-youth-sports-vs-the-church/ 008: Teens & College Students, Part 1: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/008-teens-college-students-part-1/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

090: What's So Special about Mary, the Mother of Jesus?
All around the world, Christians (and even non religious people) know and understand Mary to be a special person in Christian history. Some people believe that she has a special, holy place beside Jesus and that she is one of the key centerpieces of the Christian faith; while other people believe that even though she did give birth to Jesus, there's nothing special about her. So, what are we supposed to do with the Virgin Mary? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller look at "Mary-ology" to better understand the Catholic viewpoint of Mary, and then they discuss how we should view Mary's role in the life of the believer. Are the Catholics correct with their views or should we follow the Protestant tradition? This episode is designed to help you make that decision on your own. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 086: The Catechism of Communion: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/086-the-catechism-of-communion/ 076: The Rapture of the Church: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/076-the-rapture-of-the-church/ 068: Christians & Alcohol: is it a sin?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/068-christians-alcohol-is-it-a-sin/ 064: Can Christians Be Political?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/064-can-christians-be-political/ 054: What to do about Bible Translations: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/054-what-to-do-about-bible-translations/ 038: Can One Love Without God?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/038-can-one-love-without-god/ Bonus: The Beauty of Good Friday: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/bonus-the-beauty-of-good-friday/ //Links From the Show// https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/bless-the-mother-of-jesus-but-mainly-be-the-mother-of-jesus https://catholicexchange.com/understanding-four-marian-doctrines //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com

089: 7 Deadly Sins - Lust
We're back with another episode from our series on the 7 Deadly sins, and this week, we're covering lust. In this episode, Marc and Fuller talk about the history of the 7 Deadly Sins before jumping into this episodes focus. Lust is a topic that, although many people know what it is, many believe don't believe that lust truly has the power to do damage to the life of a believer. Unchecked, lust has the power to destroy one's life, family, and testimony. Do we have your attention now? Good. 088: Cancel Culture: Shalt Thou Offend
Cancel Culture is a recently developed term, but in the last few years, has transformed the way our society both views and responds to companies and celebrities that speaking something that is either objectionable or considered offensive. Now, as Christians we agree that people need to be held accountable for their actions and that we want to see justice administered; however, there seems to be a big disagreement on what should be considered "cancelable" and how we should respond to people who have "made a mistake" at some point in their past. In this weeks episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about this recent phenomenon of Cancel Culture. They break down what is both good about it, as well as some of the shortfalls that happen because people are quick to cancel anyone and everyone. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 084: Forgiveness: Why is it so hard?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/084-forgiveness-why-is-it-so-hard/ 069: I Know God Loves Me, but Does God Like Me?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/069-i-know-god-loves-me-but-does-god-like-me/ 064: Can Christians Be Political?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/064-can-christians-be-political/ 063: What is Undeserved Grace?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/063-what-is-undeserved-grace/ 057: UnChristian-ed Celebrities: Do Their Materials Still Matter?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/057-unchristian-ed-celebrities-do-their-materials-still-matter/ //Helpful Links// "God's Not Done" by Brandon Saucier & South Side Worship: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/southsidebaptistchurchworship/gods-not-done Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

087: How to Impact the Community with Pastor Matt Nichols of Soul Harvest Church
Churches and Christians have taken many hits over the last few years. From scandals, accusations of misusing church resources, and so many other church failures to having a culture that seems to be doing its best to silence Christians in the public space, it seems that the church is starting to lose its ability to impact the culture around them. We know that this shouldn't be the case, but in a world that seems so "anti God," how are we supposed to bring the Good News of Jesus to them? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller had the opportunity to sit down with Pastor Matt Nichols of Soul Harvest Church in Cloverdale, IN to talk about how both he and his church are reaching people both in their community and beyond. In this episode, Pastor Matt shares both personal stories and ministry stories of people's lives begin transformed because of Jesus, but he also breaks down how every day Christians can have the exact same impact in their local community. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 085: Focus: Why am I a Christian?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/085-focus-why-am-i-a-christian/ 074: How to Raise Christian Kids with Ryan Coatney of Cross Formed Kids: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/074-how-to-raise-christian-kids-with-ryan-coatney-of-cross-formed-kids/ 053: A Christian’s Response to Worldly Authority: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/053-a-christians-response%E2%80%A9to-worldly-authority/ 052: Coffee Mug Christianity: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/052-coffee-mug-christianity/ 032: Getting Saved Only to Escape Hell?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/032-getting-saved-only-to-escape-hell/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

086: The Catechism of Communion
Communion, The Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, the Eucharist, or whatever your Christian tradition calls this ordinance, communion has been the center-piece of Christian practice since the founding of the early church. No matter how long you've been a part of a Christian community, every Christian knows that this ordinance comprises of two parts: the wine/grape juice & bread/cracker, but not every Christian knows the history and different views on how communion is supposed to be viewed in the life of the church. In this episode, Marc and Fuller break down the historical views of communion, explain its importance throughout church history, and discuss how modern Christians should view and understand the practice of communion, both in the life of the Christian and in the life of the church. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 002: Is Disney Causing Our Kids to Walk Away from Christianity?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/002-is-disney-causing-our-kids-to-walk-away-from-christianity/ 019: When the Church Hurts You: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/019-when-the-church-hurts-you/ 020: Who is the Sunday morning church service for, believers or unbelievers?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/020-who-is-the-sunday-morning-church-service-for-believers-or-unbelievers/ 025: Cultural & Biblical Christianity: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/025-cultural-biblical-christianity/ 036: What’s Up With All of These Different Denominations?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/036-whats-up-with-all-of-these-different-denominations/ 045: Is Tithing Biblical?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/045-is-tithing-biblical/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

If you were having a conversation with someone, and they point-blank asked you, "Why are you a Christian?" would you be able to answer them? Would you be able to answer people's counter arguments to your beliefs? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller have an open conversation about why they are Christians, why they follow Jesus. 084: Forgiveness: Why is it so hard?
Forgiveness. Over the centuries, Christians have been marked by this one simple word. All throughout Scripture, we read that Christians are supposed to forgive each other as God has forgiven us, to forgive our enemies, to forgive those who hurt us. This is a concept that we've been taught since childhood, but when it's time to forgive, it's one of the hardest things for us to do. In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller ask "why is it so hard to forgive?" In this conversation, they discuss how we should respond when we've been hurt, what it means to actually forgive, and how we can help others who have been hurt by someone else. They even discuss the popular phrase "forgive and forget" and if this phrase holds water. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 052: Coffee Mug Christianity: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/052-coffee-mug-christianity/ 035: Friendship with Unbelievers: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/035-friendship-with-unbelievers/ 030: Is the church overusing it’s members?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/030-is-the-church-overusing-its-members/ 019: When the Church Hurts You: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/019-when-the-church-hurts-you/ //Helpful Links// Mike Todd Sermon Illustration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENhZhucLGGg Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

083: Sinful Excuses
In recent years, people have started saying that sin is a made up concept that is designed to keep religious people in line. If you have grown up in a religious home or in the church, you know that sin is a concept that is often preached from the pulpit as an offense towards God. However, it seems that many Christians don't have a clue what sin is, let alone feel the guilt caused by sin. Every wondered, "why?" In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about two different sides of the same coin: why we often make excuses for sin and why we keep sinning even after deciding to follow Jesus. In this episode, they discuss two religious words, one called "justification" and the other called "sanctification," and how once we understand how God works in the lives of every day people, it should cause us to love and pursue God in every area of our lives. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 075: Becoming a Peacemaker: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/075-becoming-a-peacemaker/ 063: What is Undeserved Grace?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/063-what-is-undeserved-grace/ 061: Let’s Talk About Sin: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/061-lets-talk-about-sin/ 027: Speaking the Truth in Love: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/027-speaking-the-truth-in-love/ 025: Cultural & Biblical Christianity: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/025-cultural-biblical-christianity/ //Helpful Links// Sanctification and Justification Article: https://www.ligonier.org/blog/what-are-justification-and-sanctification Definition of Sanctificaiton: https://biblehub.com/library/byers/sanctification/chapter_i_what_is_sanctification.htm Free Online Christian Education: https://www.biblicaltraining.org Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

082: Having Hope in the Middle of Hard News
When everything is out of control, how do we hang on to what's true and right? When loved ones get sick, when family members pass away, when we get the news that we have cancer, how do we have hope in a good God? Is there a way to keep our focus on Him or does this just prove that something is either wrong with us or with Him? When hard times comes there are only three responses that we can have: chaos, karma, or a higher being. In this episode, we talk about the three different views and how we, as Christians, can find hope in the middle of hard times and hard news. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 077: Does God Choose Us or Do We Choose God?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/077-does-god-choose-us-or-do-we-choose-god/ 069: I Know God Loves Me, but Does God Like Me?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/069-i-know-god-loves-me-but-does-god-like-me/ 019: When the Church Hurts You: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/019-when-the-church-hurts-you/ 015: Conversation with Paul Lindgreen: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/015-conversation-with-paul-lindgreen/ 001: Does my past effect my future?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/001-does-my-past-effect-my-future/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

081: The Seven Deadly Sins: Pride
Pride. When you say this word, there are many possible definitions that one can give . . . some good and some bad. When it comes to the Bible, though, there is only one definition for pride, and it's not a good one. In fact, many believe that pride is what lead to Satan's fall and the destruction of mankind as a whole. So, what is pride? In this episode, Marc and Fuller flip through the pages of Scripture to land on a definition of pride, figure out why God hates pride so much, and why pride will ultimately destroy our lives if we let it. 080: Witchcraft & Wizardry
The worlds of witchcraft and wizardry have taken over our society by storm. Wether it's full fledged demonic possession in movies or the use of crystals to ward off the spirits in the real world, "witches" and "magic" are becoming normal in our culture. Not sure of what to do with all of this, many Christians completely blacklist anything that mentions the word "magic," while others see no problem at all because it seems like magic is just another topic in fantasy and children stories. Battle lines have been drawn in the sand over the recent years, and many Christians aren't exactly sure how to respond to magic. With there being so many different viewpoints with this topic, many are left wondering how should Christians respond this all of this. In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about all things magic. From Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings, nothing is off limits in this conversation. With using both the Bible and their personal experiences, they talk about this topic and various elements within the magical world. The result? A real conversation that took many turns along the way. //Other Episodes That You May Enjoy// 068: Christians & Alcohol: is it a sin?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/068-christians-alcohol-is-it-a-sin/ BONUS: Extraterrestrials and Christianity: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/bonus-extraterrestrials-and-christianity/ 043: If You Could Ask God One Question: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/043-if-you-could-ask-god-one-question/ 025: Cultural & Biblical Christianity: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/025-cultural-biblical-christianity/ 012: Christians and Game of Thrones: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/012-christians-and-game-of-thrones/ 004: Would Jesus Smoke Pot?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/004-would-jesus-smoke-pot/ 002: Is Disney Causing Our Kids to Walk Away from Christianity?: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/002-is-disney-causing-our-kids-to-walk-away-from-christianity/ //Helpful Links// Dare to Share's "How to Share the Gospel": https://www.dare2share.org/resources/worldviews/ Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast RTC Merch Store: https://real-talk-christian-podcast.creator-spring.com/ RTC Online: www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

079: Focus: Church, Should We Reinvent the Wheel?
Today's church is often marked by programs, services, worship experiences, outreach events, and custom-tailored events to serve the whole family and surrounding community. Both small church and large churches are doing all they can to do something new and fresh to reach people for Jesus, but is this what the church should be focused on? In this week of RTC, Marc and Fuller look at ways the church has tried to reinvent the "wheel" of doing church in four key areas and ask the question if it's good that the church has put their focus on these things. Some are great and some . . . not so much. 078: Focus: The World, The Kingdom, & The Balance
If Christian aren't supposed to be a part of the this world, should Christians even care about what goes on in the world? If we do care about though, just how much is too much caring? In this week's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller start a two part series called "FOCUS," and in doing such, call the church to get their focus back on the right things, including our view of the world and our relation to it. In this episode, they talk about what the world is, God's relation to the world, and how much we should be involved in the world's affairs. //Other episodes you may enjoy// 075: Becoming a Peacemaker: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/075-becoming-a-peacemaker/ 066: Answering the Call of the Kingdom: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/066-answering-the-call-of-the-kingdom/ 063: What is Undeserved Grace?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/063-what-is-undeserved-grace/ 053: A Christian's Response to Worldly Authority: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/053-a-christians-response%E2%80%A9to-worldly-authority/ 052: Coffee Mug Christianity: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/052-coffee-mug-christianity/ 033: Personhood Theory & Why It Changes the Pro-Life Conversation: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/033-personhood-theory-why-it-changes-the-pro-life-conversation/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

077: Does God Choose Us or Do We Choose God?
In the Christian world, there is a long standing debate of who initiates one's salvation – God or man. Since the days of John Calvin and Jacobus Arminius (and even back to the time of St. Augustine), the question of "Does God choose those who follow Him, or does man have the ability to choose to follow God on his or her own accord?" This view is a big difference between not only those in the Protestant Church, but this belief is also a big divide between the Catholic Church and Protestant denominations. In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller look at the history of the Calvanist and Arminianist beliefs, what the Bible has to say about this conversation, and why your view on God's salvation can dictate how you view God and the world. //Other Episodes You May Enjoy// 069, I Know God Loves Me, but Does God Like Me?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/069-i-know-god-loves-me-but-does-god-like-me/ 063, What is Undeserved Grace?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/063-what-is-undeserved-grace/ 043, If You Could Ask God One Question: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/043-if-you-could-ask-god-one-question/ 038, Can One Love Without God?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/038-can-one-love-without-god/ 025, Cultural & Biblical Christianity: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/025-cultural-biblical-christianity/ 021, Should we have Unbelievers in Mind when designing the Sunday Morning Worship Service?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/021-should-we-have-unbelievers-in-mind-when-designing-the-sunday-morning-worship-service/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

076: The Rapture of the Church
"When Jesus comes back, will you go with him or will be left behind?" This is a phrase that if you've been in church for a while, you may have heard a pastor a church person say. But, is this the correct question to ask regarding the rapture? In a Christian world that is obsessed with the rapture and end times, do you know what to believe? Better yet, do you know what the Bible says? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about the rapture of the church. In this conversation, they dig through the Bible and look at church history to see how we, as Christians, should view the rapture of the church and how we as Christians should approach this subject. //Other episodes you may enjoy// 069: I Know God Loves Me, but Does God Like Me?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/069-i-know-god-loves-me-but-does-god-like-me/ 058: Can Christians Wrestle with Doubt?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/058-can-christians-wrestle-with-doubt/ 052: Coffee Mug Christianity: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/052-coffee-mug-christianity/ 049: New Heaven, New Earth, New Jerusalem, and Why it even matters: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/049-new-heaven-new-earth-new-jerusalem-and-why-it-even-matters/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

075: Becoming a Peacemaker
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus said, "blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God." These words have been repeated throughout the centuries in many different contexts, but the truth still stands—peacemakers will be blessed by God. Have you ever wondered that it means to actually be a peacemaker, though? In this week's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about what it means to be a peacemaker, and how being a peacemaker is one of the Christians main calling. To help you think through the topic, they go through the Scriptures to bring up other passages of Scripture that show Christians how to be peacemakers and provide seven descriptions of a true peacemaker. //Other episodes you may enjoy// 66 - Answering the Call of the Kingdom: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/066-answering-the-call-of-the-kingdom/ 55 - What does it mean if the world hates us: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/055-what-does-it-mean-if-the-world-doesnt-hate-us/ 44 - What does it mean to "find your identity in Christ"?: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/044-what-does-it-mean-to-find-your-identity-in-christ/ 27 - Speaking the Truth in Love: http://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/027-speaking-the-truth-in-love/ //Helpful Links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

074: How to Raise Christian Kids with Ryan Coatney of Cross Formed Kids
In an ever-changing world, how do we raise our kids to love Jesus and pursue him? This is a question that has been asked to us here at RTC a handful of times, and we knew that we needed to bring in the big guns for this conversation! In this week's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller sit down with Ryan Coatney of Cross Formed Kids. Cross Formed Kids is a biblically-based catechism method of learning and has grown in popularity with Christian parents all over America. In this episode, we ask Ryan many questions, including these: Why are so many kids and teens walking away from Christianity? What are ways that we can talk with our kids about Christianity in a way that they love Jesus and not just do the Christian thing? How do we have conversations around salvation and baptism at such a young age? Do you think there should be a certain age for salvation and baptism? Is teaching kids to follow Jesus a form of child abuse? If you are a parent or hope to one day be a parent, you'll enjoy this conversation. If you have any questions regarding Cross Formed Kids, you can find a link to their website in EVERY single show note that we've produced for RTC. 073: Being Pro-Life After Birth ft. Andrew Wood of Knoxville Hope Resource Center (@knoxvillehope)
Christians are often accused of only caring about babies when they are in the womb but not caring about both mothers and babies after babies are born, especially during political seasons when being Pro-Life becomes a talking point in the political sphere. But here's a question: is this actually true? Marc and Fuller decided to sit down with Andrew Wood to talk about this claim. Andrew Wood is the executive director of Knoxville Hope Resource Center (@knoxvillehope). Hope Resource Center comes alongside expecting parents who don't know where else to turn when they find out they are pregnant by providing care for mothers and babies both before the baby's birth and long after the birth. Hope walks with both men and women to help them establish a life as a parent, and they do all of this because they want to show God's love to those who need it. If you've ever heard the statement that Christians only care about babies in the womb or wondered if there's something that Christians can do to help scared, pregnant mothers, you'll definitely want to listen in on this conversation. 072: Three New Year Goals Every Christian Should Have
It's time to leave 2020 and move onto 2021! With a new year comes new goals, dreams, and expectations. Most people, including Christians, set "new year resolutions" to help them have the best year ever. Sadly, most of the resolutions fail within the first couple weeks. Rather than make resolutions, we think you should make goals! Why? Goals are things that you can attain for, rather than resolutions that are decisions to do or not do. In this episode, Marc and Fuller talk about three goals that every Christian should have as they walk into 2021. //Links Mentioned in this episode// Last year's New Year episode: https://realtalkchristianpodcast.com/episodes/023-new-year-resolutions-are-they-effective/ //Helpful links// Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Quick Links: https://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast //Music used on RTC// Opening Song: “Joy” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy? si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: “Adjust” by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

070: Do Churches Need Pastors?
The role of the pastor has changed throughout the centuries – from spiritual guide to ruler of countries. Every church has a pastor (some have multiple), but the role of the pastor is rarely defined. Let alone defined, many don't ask the question, "is the role of the pastor even required if every Christians followed the Bible?" In this episode of Real Talk Christian Podcast, Marc and Fuller talk about the roles that the pastorate has evolved into in the 21st century, if those roles are Biblical, and if pastors are even needed in the church. We have heard from some Christians that they know God loves them, but based on their actions and thoughts, they feel like God doesn’t like them. . . like He’s unhappy with them. Like a parent who says to their child, “I love you, but I just don’t like you at the moment.” Does God ever get to the point where he says, “I love you, but I just don’t like you at the moment." In this week's episode of Real Talk Christian Podcast, Marc and Fuller discuss this line of thinking and try to get to the source of the fear, including topics such as what the Bible says about God's love grace, why we feel like we aren't close to God, and can we lose certain blessings if we don't follow God the ways that we should. No stone gets unturned in the pursuit to answer this question. Ep 64068: Christians & Alcohol: is it a sin?
The CDC says, “Excessive alcohol use is responsible for more than 95,000 deaths in the United States each year, or 261 deaths per day. These deaths shorten the lives of those who die by an average of almost 29 years, for a total of 2.8 million years of potential life lost. It is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States, and cost the nation $249 billion in 2010." If this is true, why do so many Christians believe that it is not only acceptable but also enjoyable to drink alcohol? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller open up the Bible to answer the questions like "Is drinking alcohol is sin?" "Is it wise to drink alcohol?" and "How should we handle ourselves if we think it's a sin but others think it's okay?" 067: How to Be Thankful in 2020
2020 has been the definition of a dumpster fire, but is there anything in 2020 that we can be thankful for? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss how we can be thankful all times and how being thankful manifests itself in our everyday lives. What are we thankful for this year? That's easy! 066: Answering the Call of the Kingdom
Have you ever stopped and wondered, "What is my purpose in being a Christian?" Maybe you've thought about that question, and hey, maybe you haven't. At the end of the day, though, we have to have a purpose on this earth, besides just living and dying. Right? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about evangelism and telling people about Jesus. We go into the heart behind telling people about Jesus, some easy ways to share your faith, and even discuss if evangelism is the Christian's sole purpose here on this earth. 065: Beatless Worship
When someone says the word “worship,” Christians often think of music, a band, a song set, and maybe even lights and haze. But is this the way it’s supposed to be, or is worship more than a beat? In today’s episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller take a deep dive into Scripture to see just what worship is. Best part? You don’t even need a beat to worship Jesus every day. So what is worship? This week’s episode answers just that question. 064: Can Christians Be Political?
Everyone knows that you never bring up two topics at the family dinner table: religion and politics. Thankfully, we aren't most people. On this episode of Real Talk Christian Podcast, Marc and Fuller talk about politics and specifically answer the question, "Can Christians be political?" There are so many Christians that combine their faith with a political platform, and we set out to see if that's a Christian idea or a worldly idea that has crept into the faith. We look at governments in the Old Testament and New Testament, if Christians should vote, can Christians serve as political figures, and how Christians should handle political conversations in every day life. BONUS: Extraterrestrials and Christianity
bonusIT’S TIME FOR A BONUS EPISODE! Just like last year, we’re bringing you a special Halloween episode. Last year, we talked about history of the holiday and how Christians should handle celebrating. This year? Let’s talk about aliens, extraterrestrial activity, and if Christians should just go ahead and storm Area 51. With all this so called, "alien activity" happening in our world, should Christians believe that aliens are real, and if aliens are real, what does this mean for our faith? Get your candy ready. Grace. Grace is a word that is often used in Christian circles, but outside of salvation, many don’t understand how grace plays a role in our everyday lives. Sin. If you’ve grown up in church, you’ve heard it used quite a bit. If you’re new to the faith, you know it’s bad…but that’s about it. Have you ever asked, “what is sin?” or “how do I know if I did sin?” In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss these questions and more, including why we struggle with sin, how to deal with guilt and shame that comes from sin, should we ever call out other people’s sins, and even the popular phrase, “I love Jesus, but I…” Helpful links: Choose your listening platform: http://linktr.ee/realtalkchristianpodcast Got Questions?: https://www.gotquestions.org Dwell Bible App: https://dwellapp.io Cross Formed Kids from Ryan Coatney: https://crossformedkids.com RTC Website: https://www.realtalkchristianpodcast.com RTC Store: https://teespring.com/stores/real-talk-christian-podcast?page=1 Music used on RTC: Opening Song: "Joy" by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/3VcYVaixPlAS1KDVgYo1Dy?si=TqSXguuVQNudJrkcRDDjIA Closing Song: "Adjust" by Paul Lindgren https://open.spotify.com/track/16VMY0XxHDo0bLpp6dQpuc?si=a1khJqYTTtWyzeQEbtYGXg

S2 Ep 60060: How Should We Study the Bible?
In the Christian world, believers know and understand the Bible to be God’s Word. Many pastors, theologians, and philosophers have dedicated their entire lives to learning and discovering everything they can about the Bible, yet, they say that there is always more to learn and discover. You may be like many others and think that if they can’t fully understand the Bible, how can you? In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about the various ways to study the Bible and even give tips and resources to help you better study the Bible. Let’s be honest, the best way to study the Bible is to sit down and read it, but if you want to dive in deeper, this is the episode for you. S2 Ep 59059: Should Christians Live in the Purity Culture?
The Purity Culture started as a movement to teach teens and young adults the purpose of sex, dating, and relationships. Although it has great intentions, the movement ended up hurting many who followed the list of do's and don’ts. A few years ago, Joshua Harris, author of “I Kissed Dating Goodbye,” traveled around the nation, recording people’s testimonies of those who were hurt by this movement. Soon after his travels, he felt the need to rescinding his book and condemn the movement, but does all of this make the Purity Culture movement bad? In this week's episode, Marc and Fuller discuss the Purity Culture – what it is, what it meant to accomplish, and what it means to live in movement. The Bible talks about sex and purity, but what in the purity culture is biblical and what is someone’s opinions? One way to find out! S2 Ep 58058: Can Christians Wrestle with Doubt?
Studies show that over half of all believers wrestle with doubt, specifically regarding if Christianity is the one true religion and if God exists. If those studies are correct, that probably means that if you're reading this, you, at one point or another, have had doubts about your faith. If this is you, you may have wondered, "is this actually okay? Am I losing my faith?" In this weeks episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss doubt — what we can do when doubts surface, what most people do when doubt arises, where to get answers to your doubt, and most importantly, if doubt is a sign of unbelief. S2 Ep 57057: UnChristian-ed Celebrities: Do Their Materials Still Matter?
Over the years, Christians have watched many famous Christian personalities and celebrities walk away from the faith that they once preached (e.g., Marty Sampson of Hillsong United, Jon Steingard of Hawk Nelson, Pastor Joshua Harris, author of I Kissed Dating Goodbye, and performing artist Ray Boltz). As many of these celebrities walk away, those still in the faith are stuck with their books, writings, songs, and resources and wonder "what do we do with all of this now?" In this conversation of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss how we handle Christian celebrities who walk away from the faith (or are in the process of deconstructing their faith) and what we should do with the content that they've produced. S2 Ep 56056: Are Tattoos Sinful?
There's no question that tattoos are taboo in Christian circles – the more "conservative" a church, the fewer members with tattoos (unless those tattoos were from their past life of course), but it seems that more and more pastors, teachers, and Christians have several tattoos. As Christians, we aren't called to live up to the standard of other people, but we are called to live up to God's standards. What is God's standards on this topic? On today's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss look at the Bible to see what it has to say about tattoos, but more than that, they discuss if it's a wise move to get tattoos, no matter your standard or belief. S2 Ep 55055: What does it mean if the world doesn't hate us?
"If the world loves you, that must mean you don't love Jesus enough!" Maybe you've heard this phrase before, maybe not, but sadly, we have heard this plenty of times by well intentioned Christians. But is this a true statement? We know Jesus says that if the world hated him that the world would also hate us, but what happens if we find ourself in a place where the world doesn't seem to hate us? In this weeks episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller discuss just that question and discuss what the litmus test is for those who follow Jesus. S2 Ep 54054: What to do about Bible Translations
There are SO many different Bible translations out there. One question that many new Christians (and seasoned Christians) ask is, "What translation of Bible should I use, and why should I use it?" In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about the various Bible translations that are out there and even discuss their favorite translations. This conversation doesn't go deep into the KJV translation debate, but rather, since we believe that God's Word isn't preserved in one Bible translation, which ones of the many should we use? S2 Ep 53053: A Christian's Response to Worldly Authority
In today's culture, you can't escape social media posts about civil unrest and disobedience, and the posts don't change once you enter into Christian landscape: Church in-Person vs. Online Services, Masks vs. No Masks, Back the Blue vs. Defund the Police, and the list goes on and on. S2 Ep 52052: Coffee Mug Christianity
Christianity has developed some incredibly catchy phrases over the years! In fact, so many of these Christian phrases have become so popular that people purchase hand painted signs, journals, stickers, and coffee mugs with these phrases on them. Some even go as far as getting these phrases tattooed on their body! American Christians love these Christian phrases, but here's a question maybe you've never considered: Are these phrases even Biblical? In today's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller look at some of the most popular "Coffee Mug Christianity" phrases in today's Christian circles and put them to the test to see if the Bible affirms counters these popular Coffee Mug Christianity phrases. S2 Ep 51051: The Importance of Prayer
Prayer is something that all Christians know that they should do, but many Christians struggle with this Christian discipline. Why is this the case? S1 Ep 49049: New Heaven, New Earth, New Jerusalem, and Why it even matters.
In the Bible, we read that one day, Jesus will return and make all things new – a new heaven, a new earth, and there's even talk of a New Jerusalem, but here's a valid question: "What is all this?" and one like it, "Why does this even matter in my day-to-day life?" On today's episode, Marc and Fuller sit own to discuss their views on God's new creation and why it should bring encouragement and excitement to the Christian's life.
