Ep 136Understanding Personality: How Opposites Attract and Clash in Real Life Interactions

In today's episode, I want to share a story that illustrates how different personalities can impact our actions. My wife and I have contrasting personalities - she's more of an inspiring type, while I'm more cautious and analytical. Despite our differences, our relationship as spouses proves that opposites attract. The story revolves around a small water feature my wife wanted in her garden. We had a stock tank that could work for it, and she suggested burying it in the garden. I agreed that it would be a nice addition and began digging with our little machine. However, after just one scoop, doubt started creeping in.I started questioning if the chosen spot was truly the best location for it. What if we wanted to redo the area in the future? Would we regret placing it there? Shouldn't we analyze the water flow more thoroughly? Unfortunately, three years have passed, and we still haven't installed the water feature. I got caught up in my overanalytical mindset, causing me to hesitate and not take action, while my wife was ready to get it done. This story serves as a real-life example of how our different personalities can influence our actions. My wife brought the inspiration, while I allowed my analytical side to stall the project. Understanding and recognizing these dynamics can help you better navigate your interactions with individuals of varying personalities, leading to healthier relationships and a happier life.By the way, if you're a man and interested in personal, professional, and spiritual growth, I'll be hosting a men's mastermind event in South Florida this October. It's a three-day event designed to help you grow in various aspects of your life. If you'd like to learn more, reach out to me at kenesh.com/coffee for a 30-minute chat. Ep 13585% of success comes from THIS one thing

In this episode, we delve into the importance of understanding human behavior and the impact it has on our interactions with others. Despite our shared humanity, it's crucial to recognize that we see the world through our own filters, leading us to often misunderstand those around us. To truly comprehend others, we must invest time in studying and learning about their thoughts and emotions. One useful tool in this pursuit is the DISC model of human behavior.Recently, I stumbled upon a book titled "How to Have Confidence and Power in Dealing with People," which emphasizes the significance of preserving our own egos while engaging with others. It suggests that successful human relationships hinge on safeguarding the ego of both parties involved. The Carnegie Institute supports this notion by asserting that technical training only contributes to 15% of success, while the remaining 85% is attributed to personality factors and the ability to interact with others effectively. It's essential to understand that achieving success does not entail manipulation or coercing others to fulfill our desires. Instead, it revolves around relating to others, comprehending their needs, and uplifting their egos. When we assist others in achieving their goals and desires, we unlock the ability to attain anything we want in life. Zig Ziglar's statement, "You can have anything you want in life as long as you help enough other people get what they want first," encapsulates this perspective.Ultimately, I hope this newfound awareness compels you to delve deeper into the study of human behavior and develop the skills necessary to adapt to various personalities. Whether in the workplace or in personal life, technical expertise only accounts for a mere 15% of success, while the remaining 85% relies on our ability to connect and engage with others. So go forth and make a positive impact in your interactions, and may your efforts yield remarkable results.

Ep 133You can be lazy, but at least be productive lazy.

Telegram channel for updatesTelegram group to chat and connectIn this episode, we delve into the topic of laziness and productivity. As the main speaker, I openly admit to being pretty lazy – preferring activities like watching football with my buddies or going fishing over work. I want the results that come from work, but I'm not keen on actually doing the work itself. Laziness is a common trait among many individuals, but the real problem arises when people act on their laziness.Despite my laziness, I consider myself to be productive, and those who know me might not even think of me as lazy. Laziness is a complex issue with various underlying reasons. In life, we are faced with tasks that we must do to survive – such as taking care of our animals, grocery shopping, cooking meals, and managing our finances. While these tasks are necessary, they often feel like work.Conversely, there are activities that we genuinely want to do, and they don't feel like work at all. We often label this time as "lazy time." I believe that if we focus more on doing things we truly love, whether through our jobs or personal interests, we can reduce the feeling of laziness. Even if the work we love still feels like work, it becomes enjoyable due to the progress and outcomes we witness.Ultimately, I am striving to create a life where I can spend more time doing what I love and less time on activities I don't enjoy as much. I encourage others to find the same balance and discuss their experiences in our Telegram group. By prioritizing the work we are passionate about, we can achieve a sense of fulfillment and overcome laziness. So, let's aim to do good work together.

Ep 130Balancing Chaos and Simplicity

In this episode, we delve into the topic of simplifying our lives and finding the balance between work and personal well-being. Inspired by my recent visit to my Amish relatives, who embody a simple lifestyle despite the modern influences around them, I realized the importance of decluttering our lives and embracing a slower pace.Reflecting on my own hectic lifestyle, I came to the realization that I often add chaos to simplicity. Instead of focusing on what truly matters, I find myself caught up in a whirlwind of opportunities, events, and obligations. It's time to take a step back and reevaluate our priorities. One of the key steps to simplifying our lives is learning to say no. We must learn to decline certain opportunities and invitations that may only add unnecessary stress and chaos to our already busy schedules. By doing less, we allow ourselves the time and space to think, reflect, and truly enjoy life.Disconnecting from technology is another essential aspect of living a simplified life. In a world that is constantly connected, it's crucial to carve out moments of rest and rejuvenation. By disconnecting from the digital world, we create space for more meaningful connections with loved ones on a personal level.Finding moments of rest and connection not only allows us to appreciate life to its fullest, but it also replenishes our energy and creativity. It is in these still moments that we can truly find inspiration and do good work. So, I encourage you to join me on this journey of simplifying our lives. Let's learn to say no, spend more time at home, and disconnect from technology when necessary. By embracing a slower pace, we can rediscover the true essence of life and find the balance between work and personal well-being. Let's strive for a simpler, more fulfilling life.

Ep 129How to ease your mind as a PERFECTIONIST!!

Today, we're delving into the concept of embracing imperfection and exploring its five big benefits. In a society that places immense pressure on achieving perfection, it's crucial to recognize that perfection is unattainable. While striving for excellence and facing challenges is commendable, expecting constant success is unrealistic. Moreover, the pursuit of perfection often burdens individuals with emotional baggage, increasing the risk of depression and anxiety. However, accepting imperfections can lead to greater happiness and reduced stress. One significant advantage of embracing imperfection is the diminished power of failure. Perfectionists often internalize failure as a personal reflection on their self-worth, viewing it as a catastrophic event. Understanding that mistakes are a natural part of being human allows for growth and learning, transforming failure into an opportunity to adjust strategies and move towards success.Additionally, accepting imperfections cultivates kindness and understanding towards others. By being at ease with our own flaws, we are less inclined to judge and criticize others. This fosters peaceful and fulfilling relationships, as we become more willing to give people the benefit of the doubt and forgive minor mistakes.Another benefit lies in the enhanced self-esteem that comes with embracing imperfection. Perfectionists tend to be incredibly critical of themselves, leading to easily shattered self-esteem. However, acknowledging our humanity and being gentler with ourselves when errors occur fosters a healthier mindset, reducing feelings of guilt and shame. This, in turn, allows for personal growth and an improved sense of self-worth.Finally, embracing imperfection has the power to inspire others. Recognizing that imperfections are a fundamental part of our shared human experience fosters deeper connections among individuals. By gracefully accepting the ups and downs of life, individuals become role models, emphasizing the value of human connection over material possessions and achievements. This earns them admiration and respect from those around them.In conclusion, embracing imperfections brings forth numerous advantages. It leads to greater happiness, a reduced fear of failure, kindness towards others, improved self-esteem, and the ability to inspire those on their personal growth journey. As we appreciate the imperfect beauty of being human, let us share these insights with others, encouraging them to embrace imperfection and experience its transformative effects.

Ep 128Onward and Upward: Choosing Direction and Becoming the Captain of Your Own Ship

In this episode, we explore the concept of taking control of our own lives and steering it in the direction we desire. We often find ourselves waiting for opportunities to come knocking, believing that we have no control over our circumstances. However, this mindset only limits our potential and prevents us from achieving our goals. Life is compared to being on a ship, with each of us as the captains of our own vessels. Instead of waiting for our ship to come in, we must recognize that we are already onboard and take charge of our journey. By directing our lives towards what we truly want and pursuing our passions, we can find fulfillment and make a positive impact on others. One way to do this is by helping others, whether it's through handyman work or providing assistance to someone in need. The intrinsic reward of making a difference in someone else's life is priceless. While financial gain is not the only measure of success, it's also acceptable to earn a living doing what brings us joy. By being intentional about our choices and actions, we increase our chances of reaching our desired destination. The idea is to take control of our ship, captain it, and engage in meaningful work that aligns with our interests and strengths. We need to wake up to the fact that we are already onboard and start steering our lives in the right direction. Don't wait for your ship to come in; it's already here.

Ep 127Changing the Game: Taking Action to Change Your Life's Direction

In this part of the conversation, we explore the concept of abundance and how it aligns with our ability to receive ideas. I reflect on a recent episode from the Farmish Kind of Life podcast, where the host emphasizes our control over life and the way we choose to respond to various situations. This notion is further supported by the works of Viktor Frankl, as seen in his book "Man's Search for Meaning," where he showcases the power of choice even in the most challenging circumstances. I also draw attention to Admiral Stockdale's experience as a Vietnam War veteran in captivity, highlighting how he exercised his agency to determine his thoughts, emotions, and actions, despite being in a dire situation. Admirably, Stockdale emphasizes the importance of having faith in the desired outcome while simultaneously confronting the harsh realities of the present moment. The core message conveyed is that we possess the capability to make significant changes in our lives and construct the life we aspire to have. This is achieved by taking action, adapting to circumstances, and continuously moving forward. Ultimately, we have the power to adopt a positive attitude and make a meaningful impact in the world.

Ep 125Keys to Business Success: part 1

In today's episode, we dive into the importance of understanding our audience and identifying our niche within our industry. As business owners, it's crucial to know who we serve and what sets us apart from the competition.Whether we're electricians specializing in commercial or residential work, or brick-and-mortar store owners with a specific theme or specialty, our target audience plays a significant role in shaping our marketing efforts. By tailoring our messaging to our niche, we can effectively reach the right customers who are most likely to engage with our products or services. The 80-20 rule is another key factor to consider. Identifying the 20% of our efforts, products, or services that generate 80% of our results or revenue allows us to focus our marketing efforts towards those customers who are most likely to resonate with our specialty. This doesn't mean that we won't attract other customers, but having a clear focus ensures that our brand messaging isn't diluted and that we aren't seen as a generic all-rounder.In a personal example from my construction business, I used to claim that I could do everything. However, I soon realized that specializing and focusing on my strengths was far more effective. Now, when people ask what I do, I confidently state that I specialize in building decks and doing remodels. While I do offer additional services such as vinyl and hardy siding, tile installation, ceiling fan installation, and property management for Airbnbs, my core expertise lies in building decks and performing remodels.By honing in on our core competencies and marketing our strengths effectively, we can attract the right customers and achieve better results and satisfaction for both ourselves and our clientele. So, let's dive deeper into the importance of understanding our audience and finding our niche within our respective industries.

Ep 124Understanding speech patterns

In this episode, we delve into the topic of communication patterns and how different people express themselves in various situations. We use the analogy of funnels to illustrate this concept. Some individuals are like wide open funnels, effortlessly allowing their words to flow regardless of the circumstances. On the other hand, there are those who resemble small funnels with narrow openings. When too much is put into these narrow funnels, they become clogged, and individuals struggle to articulate their thoughts. We discuss how challenges can act like rocks thrown into the funnel, blocking the smooth flow of words. While there may not be a clear-cut solution, we emphasize the importance of understanding one another better and finding ways to assist each other during these moments. By recognizing the issue, we can take the first step towards finding a solution and working through it together. Please note that due to time constraints, we are unable to provide a demonstration during this episode. However, we hope our explanation paints a visual picture of the concept we discuss.Shifting gears, we also touch upon a personal challenge one of us is currently undertaking. This challenge involves having virtual coffee chats with 100 different people over the course of 100 days. Ep 123The Truth About Time Management

In this episode, we delve into the concept of time management and its true nature. As I recently discovered through my book club's reading of "Eat That Frog," time itself cannot be controlled or managed. It marches forward relentlessly, regardless of our efforts. However, what we do have control over is how we make use of the time available to us. Days, weeks, months, and years will pass by, no matter what actions we take or words we speak. What truly matters is the destination we arrive at when that time has elapsed.Rather than fixating on the elusive notion of time management, we must redirect our focus towards self-management. It is through disciplined self-management that we can make the most effective use of our time. "Eat That Frog" emphasizes the vital importance of concentration and honing in on our highest-value activities. The book encourages us to identify the tasks that only we can accomplish and prioritize them as our top priorities, metaphorically referring to them as the 'frogs' that need to be eaten first. To achieve effective self-management, setting clear goals and understanding what we aim to achieve in various aspects of our lives is crucial. The book suggests a series of brief questions to answer, giving ourselves only 30 seconds per question. Surprisingly, these concise answers often prove to be just as accurate, if not more so, than spending hours pondering over them. By honestly and concisely answering these questions, we gain a clearer understanding of our true desires and aspirations in life.Ultimately, the key lies in remaining focused on our goals, taking action, and consistently producing quality work. Through deliberate and mindful self-management, we can make the most of the time we have and steer ourselves towards the successful outcomes we seek.

Ep 122Unexpectedly Off-Grid

In this episode, we have something special in store. Today, I want to take a moment to share a personal experience that I recently had. It all started when we encountered some unexpected power issues at our homestead. It was a bit of a shock, but it pushed us to take action and get our solar system up and running as soon as possible. Now, going off-grid was always part of our long-term plan, but we hadn't anticipated needing to do it so soon. That's where Shawn Mills from Hack My Homestead comes into the picture. I reached out to him for assistance, and I have to say, he was an absolute lifesaver.Shawn didn't waste any time. He quickly ordered all the necessary components for our solar system and, here's the best part, he offered to install it for us completely free of charge. We explore how adding action to our commitments is vital in ensuring we follow through and achieve our desired outcomes. Additionally, we delve into the significance of setting goals and creating a plan to support our commitments. To tie this discussion back to the DISC personality styles, we analyze how individuals with different personality types approach goal-setting. The dominant personality focuses on the bottom line and wants to know what needs to be done. Inspiring personalities prioritize the people involved and who will be helping them. Supportive personalities ask how they can contribute and be of assistance. Cautious personalities question the relevance and purpose of the goal.By understanding our unique personality styles, we can tailor our approach to goal achievement and work effectively with others. Ep 120Managing Your Resource Cycles

Telegram channel for updatesTelegram group to chat and connectIn this episode, we discuss the learning process of using a newly installed solar system. Typically, we rely on the grid for power, but with solar, we must understand power cycles. Using power at night drains our batteries, causing system shutdowns before the sun generates power again. It's important to learn how this cycle operates. This concept applies to life and business as well. Like energy and capital, there are ebbs and flows. We must do resource-heavy tasks when energy or capital is abundant. When our energy bank is full, we can make expansions and accomplish more significant things. Understanding and managing these cycles can reduce stress. So, learn the cycles of your life and business. Operate during times of abundance and take breaks during low periods to recharge. Share your identified cycles and how you operate best in the Telegram chat. Do good work.

Having a purpose serves as a guiding light, motivating us to keep pushing forward and take action. Without a clear sense of purpose, it can be challenging to find the drive and determination to work towards our goals.Even though I have a purpose, which is to finish and live in my dream house, there are moments when I find myself lacking motivation. However, I understand that without a compelling reason or a strong "why," it's highly unlikely that I will follow through with my plans. One technique that has been incredibly helpful to me comes from the book "The One Thing." This approach encourages us to identify the one thing we can do at each level of our goals – be it yearly, monthly, weekly, or even daily – that will move us closer to our purpose. By continuously asking ourselves what actionable steps we can take right here, right now, we can make progress towards achieving the impact we desire.Whether our purpose revolves around earning a paycheck to provide for ourselves and our loved ones or making a lasting impact on millions of lives, it's crucial that we find that unique thing, that driving force within us, and fully commit to it.I want to invite all of you to join our Telegram group and share your "one thing" for today with us. In this episode, we delve into the importance of gaining a fresh perspective when facing challenges in our businesses. Finding a way out seems impossible when you're trapped in this limited view.To effectively navigate the forest of business challenges, we need a bird's eye view. By actively engaging with the experiences and problems faced by others, we can uncover innovative solutions that can be applied to our own situations. But the journey doesn't end there. Ep 117Business Ideas You Never Heard Of

In today's show, we are exploring the unlimited potential for business opportunities. The possibilities are truly endless, and if you can dream it, you can sell it. To illustrate this, I recently reached out to people on Facebook to hear about some uncommon jobs or businesses they have come across, and the responses were fascinating. One interesting example is the world of professional Sudoku players. Yes, there are people who make a living by playing Sudoku! It just goes to show that any niche interest can be turned into a profitable venture. Another unusual business is that of stock traders who work from the comfort of their homes. It's a testament to the power of technology and how it has enabled new opportunities in the business world. But let's not stop there. There are even more unconventional ideas worth exploring. For instance, I discovered a full-time broom maker, a profession that might seem antiquated but still has a market. And then there are professional mermaids, individuals who entertain and perform as these mythical creatures. It's a unique concept that has gained traction in certain communities.Intrigued by the idea of professional mermaids, I decided to dig deeper and found a treasure trove of unusual business ideas. Allow me to share a few with you. How about starting a Cookie Dough Cafe, where customers can indulge in their love for raw cookie dough? Or perhaps an Olive Oil Store, specializing in various flavors and varieties of this sought-after ingredient. And let's not forget the Gourmet Popcorn Shop, bringing a touch of luxury and novelty to everyone's favorite movie night snack. But we can dive even deeper into the sea of possibilities. Picture yourself running a thriving sea salt business, providing people with a taste of the ocean in every sprinkle. Or imagine creating a salt cave for relaxation, offering a unique experience for wellness enthusiasts. And if you're looking for more action-packed options, consider axe throwing parties, escape rooms, rage rooms, or trampoline parks. The fun and thrill industries are booming! Now, let's explore some truly one-of-a-kind ventures. How about starting a Football Bowling business, combining the excitement of football with the classic game of bowling? Or opening a Nerf arena, where people can engage in epic battles with foam darts? And if you're a gaming enthusiast, a Game Truck business might be the perfect fit, bringing the joy of video games right to your customers' doorstep. But wait, there's still more! One business that caught my attention is the Ninja Warrior Gym. Imagine creating a space where people can challenge themselves physically, just like the contestants on the popular TV show. It's a fantastic concept that merges fitness and entertainment. The bottom line is, when it comes to business opportunities, your imagination is the only limit. You can start a party bus business, become a professional mermaid, run a store selling vintage maps, or even rent out goats to help clear land. The point is, there are no shortage of ideas and opportunities out there. Whether you choose a traditional business or something out of the ordinary, the key is to find something you are passionate about and do good work. With this mindset, the potential for success truly becomes unlimited. So go out there and seize the possibilities that lie ahead.

Ep 116Challenge. Growth. Mastery.

In this episode, we explore the concept of mastery and how it is developed through facing challenges and personal growth. We discuss how individuals who have become experts in their respective fields did not achieve mastery through luck or natural talent, but rather through hard work and dedication. Whether it's podcasting, marketing, farming, or any other skill, mastery requires overcoming challenges and choosing to grow through them.We highlight examples such as a home builder who started because they wanted to build their own house after being thrown out of their previous residence, and someone who became a master of growing their own food due to a health scare from consuming fast food. The common theme is that these individuals faced their challenges head-on and grew through the experience, ultimately attaining mastery. We emphasize that the process of developing mastery involves three steps: challenge, growth, and mastery. It begins with a challenge that motivates individuals to overcome it and grow personally. As they work through the challenge, they develop mastery in that particular area. We encourage listeners to embrace the challenges they face, knowing that they can become opportunities to help others in the future.Drawing from a previous podcast episode by our friend Amy, we emphasize that we do not become someone but rather uncover and develop who we truly are. As we peel back the layers of ourselves, we discover our passions and interests, shaping ourselves into the individuals we want to be. Through this growth, we reveal our true selves to the world. Finally, we invite listeners who are interested in joining a group focused on the process of challenge, growth, and mastery to reach out to us at [email protected]. We offer a 15-minute conversation to provide more information about the group membership, and we currently have a special rate for the first 10 members who join. We encourage everyone to continue doing good work and embracing the challenges that come their way.

Ep 114Selling Your Product or Service

In this episode, we delve into the topic of converting potential clients into customers. Our main focus will be exploring effective strategies that can help businesses succeed in this endeavor. First and foremost, it is crucial to ensure that potential customers are aware of your business and what it offers. Instead of solely emphasizing the technical aspects of your products or services, it is important to highlight the benefits that customers can derive from them. To illustrate, let's say you specialize in building decks. Paint a vivid picture for potential customers, showcasing the joy and relaxation they can experience while sipping their morning coffee on a deck that offers breathtaking views. Utilizing the fear of missing out (FOMO) technique can also be a powerful motivator for potential buyers. Mentioning limited availability or fast-approaching deadlines can create a sense of urgency and encourage them to take action. To ensure that your message is accessible to a wide range of individuals, it is essential to avoid using industry jargon. Opt for language that is easy to understand, allowing anyone to grasp the value of your products or services. Highlighting your unique selling points is another critical aspect of converting potential clients into customers. Whether it's a distinctive building style or personalized touches, emphasizing what sets your business apart from competitors can make a significant difference. Targeting the right audience is paramount to achieving success. Tailoring your marketing efforts to reach individuals who are most likely to be interested in your offerings increases the possibility of converting them into customers. Providing customers with a limited number of options can streamline their decision-making process, ultimately increasing the likelihood of a sale. Finally, leveraging positive reviews and testimonials can build trust and credibility with potential customers. Seeing the positive experiences of others can significantly influence a customer's perception of your business. By implementing these effective strategies, businesses can effectively communicate the value of their offerings and enhance their chances of converting potential clients into customers.

Ep 113The thing holding you back from your potential

In today's episode, we're diving deep into a topic that's close to my heart: the challenge of busyness. It's something that many of us struggle with, myself included. As I reflect on this issue, I can't help but think of a talented friend of mine who has big dreams of starting a small craft business. However, he constantly finds himself lacking the motivation and time to pursue his goals.I've been there for him, offering support and encouragement, but I've also encouraged him to seek additional help. I truly believe that having a group or a friend who can hold you accountable and keep you motivated is essential. It's painful to see his potential going untapped, but I respect his journey and understand that he may not be ready to join my mastermind just yet.But here's the thing: my friend is not alone. I've noticed this pattern among many individuals who settle for a sense of safety and comfort, rather than pushing themselves to reach for what they truly want. It's all too easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and let it hold us back from pursuing our deepest desires. That's why I want to take a moment to urge anyone listening to this episode to find someone who can be that support system. Whether it's a friend, a mentor, or a trusted colleague, having someone who can push you, ask you the tough questions, and hold you accountable is invaluable. In a world filled with distractions and a constant sense of busyness, it's important to prioritize and focus on what truly matters. Don't let the noise drown out your dreams. Instead, give yourself permission to do good work and invest your time and energy in the things that align with your passions and goals.Remember, we all have the power to create the life and business we desire. It starts with recognizing the value of support and accountability, and making a conscious effort to surround ourselves with people who will lift us up and help us take those important steps towards our goals. So, if you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed by busyness, I encourage you to reach out, connect, and find that person who will push you to new heights. Together, we can overcome the obstacles that hold us back and achieve what we truly desire.

By focusing on your own development, you can become the hero of your own story and create a meaningful life. One important skill that a value-driven professional possesses is the ability to deescalate drama. Conflict is bound to arise in various relationships, and knowing how to address and resolve conflicts effectively is essential.Feedback is another valuable tool for growth and improvement, and as a value-driven professional, you understand that feedback is a gift. Rather than seeing feedback as a measure of success or failure, it should be viewed as valuable information that guides your future actions.Conflict resolution is an art that a value-driven professional cultivates. Understanding how to navigate conflict with grace and understanding is crucial, as conflict is inevitable in any setting. While it may be tempting to strive for popularity, a value-driven professional prioritizes being trusted and respected over being liked. While planning and strategizing are important, ultimately, actions drive growth and success.Avoiding confusion and making clear decisions is another characteristic of a value-driven professional. Often, confusion is a choice, and letting go of it is necessary for growth and success.Relentless optimism is a trait that a value-driven professional embodies. Ep 111Conflict Resolution with DISC

Telegram channel for updatesTelegram group to chat and connectEmail: [email protected] personality profile. In this episode, we explore the fascinating world of the DISC model and its four basic personality types. Understanding these types can greatly enhance our ability to navigate conflicts and find resolutions that work for everyone involved. The first personality type we discuss is the Dominant type. Dominant personalities have a strong desire for power and control in conflicts. They are driven to assert their opinions and make decisions quickly, often without much consideration for others. While their directness can be intimidating, it is important to recognize their need for efficiency and effectiveness.Next, we delve into the Influencing type. These individuals seek integration and collaboration in conflicts. They are skilled at building relationships and are often persuasive in swaying others to their point of view. Their outgoing and enthusiastic nature brings energy to conflicts, making them more dynamic and inclusive.Moving on, we explore the Supportive personality type. These individuals tend to deny conflict altogether, avoiding it at all costs. They prioritize harmony and maintaining positive relationships, sometimes at the expense of addressing important issues. Understanding their avoidance tendencies can help create a safe and open environment for conflict resolution. Finally, we examine the Cautious personality type. Cautious individuals suppress their emotions and thoughts in conflicts. They value precision and accuracy, often taking longer to process information and make decisions. Recognizing their need for information and time can contribute to a more well-rounded discussion and ultimately lead to more thoughtful resolutions.By gaining insight into these personality types and their approaches to conflict, we can cultivate better relationships and find amiable solutions. Whether you are interested in applying this knowledge to personal or professional situations, we encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or are interested in exploring more about the Disc model or starting a small business.

In this episode, we delve into the significance of forming connections and building relationships. It becomes apparent that regardless of one's societal standing or perceived success, the relationships we foster greatly impact our life's journey. Notably, in today's political climate, well-connected individuals often manage to skirt the consequences of their actions. Ep 109What an antique overgrown piece of equipment taught me about my life

In this episode, we explore the deep symbolism behind an old piece of equipment found in the woods. As I examine it closely, I can't help but see the parallels it holds with life and business. Just like this forgotten machinery, when we neglect to take action on what we know we need to do, we become trapped in the obstacles and challenges that surround us.The tree growing around the equipment becomes a powerful metaphor for how we, too, can become immobilized and unable to move forward. We become burdened by the rust and the bent parts that life has caused, until we allow a higher power, represented here as the farmer, to clean us up and make us functional once again. If we fail to utilize our gifts and abilities, we are no better than that useless piece of equipment. It is crucial for us to shed the things that hold us back and keep pushing forward. We must not permit the tree of life to grow around and weigh us down. Instead, we should continually strive to do what we know we need to do, taking the next step, and refusing to let life hinder us from fulfilling our purpose. With this profound analogy, we are reminded of the importance of consistently doing good work and not allowing ourselves to become engulfed by the metaphorical tree that obstructs our path.

Ep 108I rave no more 'gainst time nor fate

In today's episode, we dive into a thought-provoking poem by John Burroughs called "Waiting." This poem resonates with me because it reminds us of the importance of being serene and patient in our lives. Burroughs beautifully captures the essence of not worrying about external circumstances and instead trusting that what is meant for us will come to us in its own time and in the right way.As I read through the lines of the poem, I can't help but feel a sense of calmness washing over me. It serves as a gentle reminder to not get caught up in the anxieties of life, but rather to have faith in the process and trust that everything will unfold as it should. What's interesting is that these same lines from Burroughs' poem can also be found in a book that I highly recommend called "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson. This book delves into the concept that our outcomes, whether good or bad, are determined by the small, daily actions we take. It's not about the external factors like the wind, tide, or sea, but rather the seemingly insignificant tasks that we have control over. The message behind "The Slight Edge" aligns perfectly with the sentiment of Burroughs' poem. It emphasizes the importance of consistently doing these small, simple tasks, as they compound over time and make all the difference in achieving success, whether it's in our personal lives or professional endeavors. So I encourage each and every one of you listening to focus on doing good work, little by little, day after day. Remember, it's the consistent actions that will lead us to success, not the grand gestures or external circumstances. By staying committed to our goals and consistently showing up, we have the power to create the life we desire.Thank you for tuning in, and I hope that this episode has inspired you to embrace the wisdom of "Waiting" and implement the principles of "The Slight Edge" in your own life. Keep pushing forward and remember that great things happen when we focus on doing good work.

Ep 107Your Circle of Control

In this part of the conversation, I discuss the concept of Ikigai, which is a Japanese concept that helps people find purpose and meaning in life. Ikigai is represented by three overlapping circles: the circle of concern, the circle of influence, and the circle of control. Most people tend to invest a lot of time and energy into their sphere of concern, which includes various external factors and issues they can't control. This includes things like climate change, food sources, and news events. While it's natural to have concerns, it's essential to shift our focus towards our circle of control, which consists of things we have direct control over. Our circle of control includes our personal life, health, relationships, work, and mindset. By spending more time and resources in our sphere of control, we can have a more significant impact on our own lives and achieve meaningful outcomes. This means dedicating around 75-90% of our time, abilities, and resources to our circle of control and reducing the time we spend on our circle of concern. By doing this, we can focus on things we can directly influence and let go of things that are beyond our control. Ultimately, the goal is to do good work and put our efforts into areas that have a direct impact on our lives. So, the next time you find yourself getting caught up in concerns that are beyond your control, remember the concept of Ikigai and shift your focus towards your circle of control. By doing so, you can find purpose and meaning in your life and make a real difference in the areas that matter most to you.

DISC overview episodes.Get your DISC personality profile. In this episode, we dive into the fascinating world of personality profiles and how they can enhance both our personal lives and businesses. I, as a firm believer in the power of personality profiling, am particularly drawn to the DISC personality profile, which has greatly enriched my relationships and various aspects of life. In fact, I am even certified in it! Therefore, in the future episodes, I have decided to dedicate some time to discussing each personality profile in detail and offering insights into how they manifest in different situations. The DISC personality profile consists of four main personalities: the D, I, S, and C. The D personality is characterized by their focus on what is happening and their need for control. They often stand out in a group due to their dominance. On the other hand, the I personality is concerned with who will be involved and craves recognition. They thrive on interaction and enjoy socializing. The S personality approaches things by considering how they will be done and their need for appreciation. They are usually supportive of others and seek support for themselves. Lastly, the C personality is driven by the question of why things need to be done and their need for quality answers. They strive for correctness and are often right. To help visualize these personalities, let's consider the types of cars they might choose. The D personality, with their focus on dominance and status, would likely opt for a powerful and luxurious car that reflects their position. The I personality, being social and fun-loving, would prefer a sporty car that allows them to be seen and make an impact. The S personality, who values support and comfort, would likely select a family car that provides ample space and ensures the well-being of everyone. Finally, the C personality, prioritizing correctness and value, would be drawn to a highly-rated car that offers the best cost-effectiveness.Understanding these different personality types becomes incredibly valuable when navigating interactions with others. By recognizing someone's personality type, we can effectively communicate and tailor our approach to meet their specific needs. Whether it's in personal relationships or sales, adjusting our language and actions to resonate with someone's personality can make all the difference. If you're intrigued by this topic, I encourage you to check out episodes 21 to 25, where we delve deeper into DISC and its intricacies. Ep 105Lessons from a Broken Rain Gauge

In this episode, we're going to talk about the importance of planning and executing in both life and business. I want to share a little story with you about rain gauges, yes, rain gauges. Every year, my wife and I buy a rain gauge in October to measure the rainfall we get through the winter. The problem is, we usually forget to dump out the water before it freezes and the rain gauge ends up cracking. So, we spend a few dollars on a cheap gauge that we can only use a couple of times before it's useless. But this year, we decided to be proactive. We bought a rain gauge in June because it had been raining a lot and we wanted to measure the rainfall. However, our plan didn't go as expected. Our dog got hold of it and chewed it into pieces. It was frustrating, but it taught us a valuable lesson. No matter how well we plan, things can often go awry.Planning isn't always fun, but it is necessary. I enjoy planning, but sometimes I get so caught up in the planning phase that I forget to actually execute. And that's where the real progress happens. Planning will take you far, but only if you take action on those plans. Now, let's go back to the rain gauge example. We could spend hours thinking about the perfect time to buy it, the safest place to put it, and all the potential obstacles we might face. But if we never actually buy the rain gauge, we'll never know how much rain we're getting. Instead, we need to make a plan, take action, and adjust as we go along. If it doesn't work out, we try again with a different approach. This principle applies to both life and business. We need to make plans, execute on them, learn from what didn't work, and make adjustments. It's a cycle of facing challenges, growing through them, and eventually mastering them. It's all about embracing challenges, learning from them, and becoming the best version of ourselves. So, remember, you've got this. Make your plans, execute on them, and face every challenge with determination. It's through facing challenges that we grow and become masters of our own lives. So, go out there and do good work!

Ep 103Purpose in Business

5 Day Biz Incubator Next week, we are running a challenge that focuses on the five keys to life as they apply to business. These keys include purpose, mindset, relationships, health, and wealth. This challenge is perfect for those who want to increase their income and have a greater impact while building their business. In today's episode, I want to discuss the importance of having a clear business purpose.Having a purpose for your business is crucial for its success and overall well-being. Here are three reasons why having a clear sense of purpose is essential. Firstly, purpose provides direction and focus. It acts as a guiding light, offering clarity, motivation, and a sense of fulfillment. It helps you stay focused on your business goals and guides your decisions, actions, and priorities. Your purpose becomes a grounding force that enables you to make choices aligned with your long-term vision, filter out distractions, and stay on track. This leads to more efficient and effective use of your time and resources. Secondly, purpose gives you motivation and resilience. Building and growing a business requires perseverance and resilience. Having a purpose fuels your motivation and keeps you going, even during challenging times. It ignites a passion within you and gives meaning to the work you do. With a clear purpose, you are more likely to push through obstacles, overcome setbacks, and continue striving for success. It serves as a constant reminder of why you started and provides the fire that keeps you moving forward. Lastly, purpose creates connection and impact. Having a purpose goes beyond personal fulfillment. It connects you with your audience, customers, and community. A business driven by a clear purpose resonates with others who share common values and aspirations. Your purpose becomes a magnet that attracts like-minded individuals and creates a sense of community and loyalty around your brand. Having a purpose allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of your customers, making your business more than just a transaction. It becomes a catalyst for positive change. As solopreneurs, it is important to reflect on the purpose of our business and the impact we want to make. We should define our purpose in a way that aligns with our personal values, passions, and the needs of our target audience. It's important to note that our purpose can evolve and adapt as our business grows. We need to regularly revisit and nurture our purpose to ensure its relevance. Our purpose serves as the foundation on which our businesses are built, contributing to our overall well-being and success in business and in life. This is just a taste of what we will be exploring throughout next week's challenge. I invite you to join us as we delve into the topics of purpose, mindset, relationships, health, and wealth as they relate to business. Let's do good work together.

Ep 102Where True Independence Comes From

In this episode, we delve into the concept of personal independence. We start by acknowledging that most of us don't have the level of independence we desire and that it's time to redefine what it truly means. Personal independence is about having the freedom to live life on our own terms and creating the life we want. Instead of merely being satisfied with the stories of others, we should begin writing our own myth. I share my own list of aspirations, which includes hiking the Appalachian Trail, traveling to Greece, exploring South America, and immersing myself in the ancient ruins. The key here is to not only write down our dreams but to also take the necessary action to make them a reality. We often tend to view external factors like governments or bosses as oppressors, but in reality, we are often the ones holding ourselves back. True freedom is not granted willingly; it must be demanded. In today's world, we have become our own worst oppressors, and it's time for us to demand more from ourselves. True independence and freedom can only be achieved by doing what is right for our own personal story. We encourage listeners to examine their own situations, determine what is right for them, and take the necessary steps to make it happen. By doing so, we can create genuine independence in our lives and strive to do good work.

While self-criticism may not always be enjoyable, it serves as a necessary part of our growth.Newt Gingrich eloquently proclaimed that there is no armor quite like perseverance. It's the unwavering commitment to keep pushing forward even when we've grown weary from our efforts. Nietzsche's profound words, "He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how," highlight the power of purpose and finding meaning in difficult times.Conor McGregor, a renowned MMA fighter, stresses that talent isn't enough to succeed; it's the combination of hard work and obsession that drives us forward. Marcus Aurelius advises us to endure what is endurable and reminds us that complaining won't change our circumstances. Instead, we should focus on the lessons and personal growth that arise from our struggles.Ryan Holiday challenges us to see obstacles not as adversities, but as opportunities for growth. He reminds us that the extent of our struggle determines the extent of our personal development. Jack Butcher wisely warns against seeking a pain-free life, as it often leads to mediocrity. Impatience with our actions and patience with the results are key to achieving success, as Navarra V Ravikant explains.Ralph Waldo Emerson inspires us with the notion that the world opens doors for those who have a clear sense of direction. Santosh Kalwar encourages us not to give up in the face of defeat because the journey to the other side is possible, though it may involve great suffering. Patience, according to Johnny Uzan, is the gatekeeper that allows us to persevere.James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, emphasizes that those who stick with their pursuits for years are the ones who ultimately attain victory. And finally, Thomas Carlyle offers the perfect ending to our collection of quotes with the powerful message: "Go as far as you can see. When you get there, you'll be able to see farther." Ep 98Choose Enthusiasm

In this episode, we delve into the topic of enthusiasm and its impact on our work. We explore how being enthusiastic about something can greatly improve our performance and overall results. It's fascinating to realize that we actually have the power to cultivate our own enthusiasm, rather than waiting for it to naturally arise. While there are instances when our love for a particular task or project effortlessly brings about enthusiasm, we can also actively choose to be enthusiastic about any endeavor we undertake. It's important to note that this doesn't mean we have to be excessively exuberant or overly energetic, as enthusiasm can take on various forms and be expressed uniquely by each individual. For instance, personally, I may not be known for displaying overt displays of emotion or high levels of energy, but I still feel a deep sense of enthusiasm when I'm engaged in activities that I love and thoroughly enjoy. Ep 95Learn. Do. Grow.

In this episode, we attend an event in Milwaukee where we discuss the topic of implementing new knowledge. I am here with a friend, and we delve into why some people succeed while others fail to apply new knowledge. I believe that the reason often lies in the way people try to incorporate the new knowledge into all their previous knowledge. I explain this using the example of taking notes on one page and then trying to write new notes on top of them.I suggest that instead of adding new knowledge on top of previous knowledge, people should erase some of the old information, take a new page, and implement the new knowledge as it has been taught. This, according to me, is the only way to ensure that new knowledge works for you. I advise our listeners to implement new knowledge as instructed and not try to integrate it with everything else they know.As we continue our discussion, we also explore the reasons behind why people struggle to implement new knowledge. My friend and I share our thoughts on how to overcome this obstacle, highlighting the importance of focus, discipline, and persistence. We conclude the episode by encouraging our listeners to take a step back, assess their current knowledge, and then implement new knowledge in a deliberate and intentional manner. We believe that this approach will lead to better results and help our listeners succeed in their endeavors.Mentioned in this episode:Sign up for the giveaway!Sign up to win 1 of 2 DISC personality assessments, a free month membership to LevelUP book club, or a 1 hour coaching call with Ken.Giveaway

Ep 94Relational Energetics

In today's lecture, we discussed the concept of win-win or no deal. We delved into the different levels of relational energetics, including the low spectrum scenarios of we lose and indifference. We also talked about the I win, you lose and the you win, I lose scenarios, but we emphasized that the level we should aim for is win-win or no deal. This scenario is where both parties need to win. We also talked about another level, we win commitment, which needs to be reserved for certain relationships. It's important to note that operating in the win-win or no deal mindset is significant in almost every aspect of life, whether in business or client relationships. So, it's essential to pay attention to the different levels of relational energetics in order to achieve the best possible outcome for both parties involved.

Ep 93I Am..... Insightful?

In their speech, the speaker shares about their experience at Sales Camp and how it helped them discover their identity in Christ. They discuss the various exercises they did to achieve this, including coming up with their personal "I am" statements. The speaker emphasizes the importance of creating these statements and encourages listeners to do the same. The speaker believes that repeating these affirmations daily is crucial to truly believing them. They suggest writing down the "I am" statements and reciting them every day until they become a part of one's belief system. Doing so can help individuals become more confident and secure in their identity in Christ. Additionally, the speaker suggests changing the typical response to "How are you?" The speaker suggests replacing the standard "I'm fine" response with "I'm unbelievable." The idea behind this is to strive for a positive and empowering attitude towards ourselves, no matter the circumstances. This simple change in response can eventually lead to a shift in mindset and increased positivity in daily life. Overall, the speaker encourages individuals to take control of their identity in Christ and to actively work towards building a positive self-image. By doing so, individuals can experience newfound confidence and strength in all areas of their lives.Mentioned in this episode:Sign up for the giveaway!Sign up to win 1 of 2 DISC personality assessments, a free month membership to LevelUP book club, or a 1 hour coaching call with Ken.Giveaway
