From Afghanistan to New Zealand: The journey of an Asylum Seeker
Today we get to speak with Abbas Nazari - Abbas has an extremely powerful story. He recently wrote a book called “After the Tampa". It's a memoir of his experience fleeing Afghanistan to seek asylum in Australia, eventually NZ, with over 400 other people including his entire family. An experience that was anything but easy. This story and Abbas's perspectives were discussed on the episode carrying themes of empathy, strength, courage, resilience, heartache, and hope to name only a few. It was one of my favourite conversations to date - I hope you enjoy it too.
