Alright alriggghhtt stop begging me for more KiwiSaver content!! ✨👌🏽🥂⠀Oh wait you weren’t... well you’re definitely going to want to listen to this episode! Rupert from Kōura is really passionate about helping kiwis make better decisions with their KiwiSaver.⠀There is so much more we could all be doing! Rupert & I have had many chats about the lack of knowledge surrounding the retirement scheme and I said it’s boring and too hard for people! 🥱⠀Much to his dismay I told him why it’s so hard to get our KiwiSaver sorted! And lucky for us he’s come through with a literal step by step practical answer to how we can organise our KiwiSaver. These are real tips and steps we can apply ASAP! ‼️⠀I love my KiwiSaver chats! I also want to stress that this episode is 100% #nonspon and I genuinely do love the ethos of Kōura and know you will get value out of this! 💰DISCLAIMER: The information in this episode is provided for general and entertainment purposes only. Ep 48 - The Basic Guide to Saving Effectively for your Goals w/ Kate from Sorted

Monday’s episode is a nice classic overview of the different strategies when saving money! 🤑⠀Kate breaks this down to be very very simple! Which as you all know is my favourite way to do things 🙌🏽 we go over what accounts you may need for different things, how to prioritise income and how to save more than you already are!⠀Sometimes I feel like I have a good routine when it comes to getting paid but hearing other ways of doing things can put into perspective how effective you are actually being with money!⠀Of course we all have a different ways of saving and your lifestyle will impact which decision is right for you! But hopefully this will help to skill you up on new ways as well!DISCLAIMER: The information in this episode is provided for general and entertainment purposes only. Ep 47 - How Podcast Guests have Transformed my Thinking & Perspective in 2020

Recently I’ve had some time to reflect on decisions I’ve made over the year so far 🧐⠀I’ve always been a really ambitious person, who doesn’t see much as impossible. In saying that - I am young and still overly wary of making the “wrong” decision. My desire to take risks wasn’t as strong as it is now and honestly I put that down to starting a podcast! 🎙✨⠀Some of us are lucky to find mentors in life, whether that’s teachers, family, friends parents’, bosses etc. Sometimes though it can be really hard to find people older than you who you resonate with. I have been lucky enough to have 30 min mentoring sessions all throughout the year in the form of episodes and share them with you!⠀Through osmosis I’ve made so many shifts in mindset without even realising. Maybe some of you have as well? I wanted to highlight exactly what those things were and examples of how I’m practising those changes in my life!⠀Among all the money stuff I’ve come to understand that the thinking behind it is just as important and investing in yourself should be something we all prioritise in whatever form seems right for you 💥⠀What’s a stand out message you’ve taken from the pod this year? 🥂

Ep 46 - First Home Buying for Young Kiwis: The Process Head to Toe

I am going to make this caption like this episode - valuable & to the point 💁🏼‍♀️⠀Hamish is your classic 26 year old New Zealander with a super genuine story I love. He started saving for a house deposit at 18, purchased at 24 and now has room to achieve other goals financially!⠀What we will cover 👉🏽⠀- BIG LEARNING: How Hamish moved out and saved for a first home deposit- Actual figures surrounding deposit and where the money came from- How he organised his KiwiSaver for success- How lifestyle choices impacted his results- How Hamish decided what to borrow- How he went shopping for homes and found “the one” (actually a funny story)⠀Thank you Hamish, you’re a legend for being apart of this and sharing your journey!DISCLAIMER: The information in this episode is provided for general and entertainment purposes only. Ep 45 - The Hard Truth - Wealth, Property & Attitude w/ CEO of Du Val Group

“Don’t be scared to reinvent yourself at any given moment” ⚡️💥✨🔥⠀That is only one of the MANY golden quotes throughout this episode. Next week we are joined by @kenyonclarke , CEO and founder of @duvalgroup . You may recognise that name from a few weeks ago when we interviewed Charlotte who is actually Kenyons wife!⠀Ultimate power couple honestly 🤯 I mentioned last ep that Charlotte is the kind of woman that when she speaks, you listen and Kenyon is very much the same. I again feel more than honoured to have had the chance to sit down and pick the brains of someone so incredible 🙌🏽⠀Within this more candid episode we break down mindset, steps to get into property, tall poppy syndrome, passion, motivation, going after what you want and literally everything in between - I could’ve sat there and asked questions for hours!⠀This episode will test your current way of thinking and force you to confront any unproductive or toxic attitudes, people and situations in your life. It is not for the faint hearted but shit I reckon it could flick a switch in your head and sometimes that’s all you need to kickstart a whole new way of living 👊🏽

Ep 44 - Shifting your Mindset for Success through Adversity w/ Brent Henry

I truly do feel pretty privileged to release this next episode ⚡️⠀I would describe Brent on a surface level as your average kiwi guy - but beyond that he has achieved amazing things that deserve recognition. He has faced adversity and through those challenges created a life he is happy with.⠀I don’t think an achievement like that should go unnoticed because I know way too many people settling for a life they don’t enjoy. Brent isn’t one of those people, he had a mindset shift and made shit happen.⠀Again, in this episode I wanted to focus on property but Brents personal life journey was too valuable not to discuss. From being in and out of court to building wealth through property and owning his own gym - I would call Brent an example of success through incredible mental strength.⠀I really would encourage everyone to listen to this! I love hearing stories of the everyday person who strives for something more than the average. If you know anyone facing adversity, needing a push or a reason to keep going - send them this episode!

Ep 43 - An Unbiased Chat About Insurance w/ Kate from Sorted.org.nz

Someone asked me a while back “can you please do an unbiased episode on insurance” 🤓 I said don’t worry I got you 👊🏽⠀On Monday I’ll bring you exactly that! So lucky to have Kate from Sorted on, you guys bloody know how much I love the sorted website. That thing taught me how to organise my KiwiSaver!⠀Kate was awesome to talk to, she is their website lead and has all the good goodknowledge for us! 💡 Insurance is something I don’t want to think about but at some point we need to think about it and it’s different for everyone!DISCLAIMER: The information in this episode is provided for general and entertainment purposes only. Ep 42 - How to Transform your Relationship with Money w/ COO of Du Val Group

How often have you felt like sh*t about your financial situation? 💸⠀How much of that came down to attitude? When you really get down to the crux of the issue it’s probably about your mindset towards, and relationship with money. This episode wears many many hats with many many golden nuggets of info. It was an absolute pleasure to speak with @duvalgroup COO @itscharlotteclarke .⠀There’s something about Charlottes energy that instantly makes you want to listen, and in my case learn - ALOT! This episode speaks about money attitude mostly with a property spin, we dive into Charlottes experience with investing in property as well as lessons she has learnt along the way.⠀I feel more than privileged to have had this opportunity and without a doubt know this will be so valuable. Sometimes you need to hear the truth without the BS, and lucky for us this is coming up! I resonated with so many messages in the episode and left feeling more than inspired to hunt down what I want in life.⠀You will seriously be missing out if you don’t listen to this one! Monday 7am - see you then 🥂

Ep 41 - How to Make the Best Decisions with your KiwiSaver w/ Kōura

Do you know the difference between a KiwiSaver fund, rate & provider?? 👀⠀You think it’s easy and then you try to put it in a sentence and realise you don’t know as much as you thought 🤔 And then after that you have to find out your risk appetite and adjust the above three accordingly...⠀What!! I’m stressed 😅 so happy to bring another KiwiSaver episode to the mix! This tool can and needs to be used to your advantage! Take it for all it’s worth, literally!!⠀How do we make the best decisions?? By becoming educated 🤯 see you Monday as per 🥂DISCLAIMER: The information in this episode is provided for general and entertainment purposes only. Ep 40 - The Truth About NZ's Education System w/ Luke Kemeys

ven though this episode is titled the “truth” it’s actually all opinions... 😅⠀Next weeks episode might be a little confronting, Luke and I choose to dissect our own experiences in the traditional education system. We discuss what makes it shit, what makes it great and how we would change it!⠀It’s not all negatives though we also discuss how we are and plan to change this going forward! I’m really excited to bring you this episode mostly because it’s something I am trying to change through this podcast.⠀I truely believe the traditional education system does not prepare you for making the most of the life you’re given. Financial education, sexual health education and mental health education are main gaps that need to change.⠀Can’t wait to hear your thoughts as well! Remember at the end of the day this is just an opinion and if you don’t agree then that’s totally fine - message me! Would be cool to discuss anyway. Opening up these conversations is the only way anything will change.

Ep 39 - The Power of a Good Quote, My Favourites & Why! SOLO EP

Have you ever read a quote and then it has just stuck with you forever? ✨⠀I definitely have a few and then variations of some that I always resonate with. I don’t think a quote will be the thing that changes your entire life journey (although maybe?) but I think they are awesome little motivators for everyday.⠀This week coming I wanted to switch it up with a solo ep, reintroduce myself to any new listeners and just have a really chill chat about motivation, inspiration and living your best life 😜✌🏽 #livelaughlove⠀No but seriously, this ones a bit light hearted to break it up and I honestly looovvveee talking about things like this. Would love to hear your thoughts as always.

Ep 38 - The Inspiring Life Story of a Multi-Exit Entrepreneur w/ Robett Hollis

You are going to be blown away when you listen to this episode ✨ Why?⠀Robett Hollis among many other things is an extremely successful and influential entrepreneur living out a journey that left me with no excuses not to go after what I want. He has already made an impact on this world that will be remembered for years to come and continues to make moves to do more every day.⠀Robett has launched & founded New Zealand’s largest action sports media network, content agency Frontside and commercial real estate & shared workspace facility ColabNZ. On top of that Robett is a Snowboard world championship silver medalist! 🤯⠀In addition to this he is on a journey to tear down tall poppy syndrome and inspire kiwi youth to be relentlessly driven in their personal journey to success. Robett does not waste his time so it was nothing short of an honour to have been given a portion of it to record this episode.⠀When I say don’t miss this, I mean it.⠀Do more, be more, say #yestosuccess.

What an honour and pleasure it was to have Frances on the pod for an ep! 😍🙌🏽⠀@francescooknz is both a podcast host and author of two financial literacy havens! ✨ If you haven’t heard of Cooking the Books podcast or Tales from a Financial Hot Mess - where have yah been? 🤓⠀I knew I wanted Frances in here to share her journey, knowledge and thoughts surrounding all things finances! We get her thoughts on sorting finances coming out of lockdown (or heading into one...), helpful resources and important things to keep in mind!⠀I feel like this comes at no better time as well! Ep 36 - Investing for Long Term Wealth w/ Hatch Co-founder Kristen Lunman

You NEED to listen to this ep, why? 🤓⠀Because I asked my friends recently - will you guys begin investing your money at some point? Not one said yes. Personally that told me that this message obviously isn’t getting through 😂 Not saying you should invest, but it should at least be something you look into.⠀Building long term wealth is IMPORTANT. Work smarter not harder for your future self. Don’t work for your money, make your money work for you. I could throw you 1 million cliches and most probably still won’t listen 🤪⠀It really doesn’t have to be intimidating! Ep 34 - The University Experience - My Financial Do's and Don'ts

If you went to uni, what is your biggest spending regret? And don’t tell me it’s getting a degree 😂⠀On Monday’s episode I go absolutely iiiinnnn on my money story through university and why it was a semi shit show. I would say I’m usually a good saver but hit with the temptation of “free money” this proved not to be the case.⠀I’m keen to hear if your experiences were similar or completely different! I let you know what I would’ve done differently in terms of money and how I could’ve set myself up a lot better by making some small changes.⠀I really enjoyed reflecting on all of my decisions because I can now pass it on to others! Who hopefully won’t make those same decisions 😅🤞🏽 It’s a big choice to go to uni in itself and I don’t think it’s right for everyone. Omg omg omg I’m so STOKED! And I know a lot of you have been waiting for this one...⠀A few weeks ago now I sat down with the lovely Courtney behind @themanuss and we discussed her financial journey to date! Ep 32 - What the Heck is Cryptocurrency? All Q's Answered w/ Janine Grainger

You might see the word cryptocurrency and instantly register you won’t understand so tap out of this episode - Here’s why that’s a bad idea ✌🏽⠀After recording this episode with Janine, I came to realise how increasingly prevalent cryptocurrencies are in NZ (as well as well implemented globally) ✨ To me, I saw them as this big scary unknown - but it’s actually extremely interesting and after reflection has a lot of benefits.⠀I’ll leave it up to you to decide but definitely watch out for Monday’s episode! Janine Grainger is the co-founder of @easycrypto.ai . An online platform allowing kiwis to buy and sell a range of cryptocurrencies. You may of heard of Bitcoin for example - that is a type of cryptocurrency.⠀Janine is amazing and completely broke this topic down in an approachable and easy to understand way. Janine also touches on the importance of online scams etc which I think is incredibly relevant! Can’t wait for you all to listen.

Insurance is something we’ve all heard of, know the gist of what it’s all about, some of us may already have it! But for me I never really knew why it was important to have insurance at a young age.⠀I’m not talking car insurance I think we can all agree why we need that 🤪 (maybe some more than others). We are talking life, health, income protection etc... what’s the deal with this type of insurance??⠀As per the classic one up style, we are taking it back to the very very BASICS. I ask all the main Q’s and Pat was awesome in giving us some extremely helpful info!

Ep 2 - How to Look like you've got your Life Together as a Young Professional

Hi! And welcome to The OneUp Project's second episode!! This podcast contains all those secret tips to get the oneup on yourself. But what do I mean by a ‘young professional’ this is anyone entering the corporate or professional workforce for the first time or it might be someone wanting to establish themselves professionally on LinkedIn or in their job. It’s all about cleaning up your act in person and online! Staring the amazing Luke from @nextadvisory.nz again, we will be discussing all sorts of tips and hacks to one up your game. Something that I think is interesting about this podcast is the discussion of @linkedin which for some young people is a nonexistent platform. It is definitely underused by a lot of people and should be considered another tool that can launch your career forward. Keep an eye out for this one, it’s a bit different and has the best nuggets of info you don’t want to be missing!Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and leave a review if you can!! It would really support the channel :)
