The Seattle Sounders turned easily their most disappointing performance of the season. We are so close to the Sounders that sometimes it can be a little easy to take what we have for granted. That was probably the biggest takeaway from Charles Boehm’s stint as a guest co-host on this week’s show. FC Dallas comes to Seattle in the middle of a three-game road trip that seemingly puts them at a significant disadvantage, coming a few days after they went to New York and played 120 minutes a few days before they head to FC Cincinnati. Due to the silliness surrounding MLS teams’ participation in the U.S. Open Cup, the Tacoma Defiance have taken the Sounders’ place in the tournament. It was almost exactly 10 years ago that the Portland Timbers visited Starfire Stadium for what would ultimately be known as the Red Card Wedding. With the Timbers returning to Starfire on Tuesday, now seems like a good time to re-release this episode that was first recorded in 2017.Back then, Jeremiah teamed up with former SB Nation colleague Richard Farley and Soccer Made in PDX’s Chris Rifer to record and produce this episode.
