We take a deep dive into Superman lore and really get into what makes these early superhero movies so special. Christopher Reeve is an absolute dreamboat as Superman and Margot Kidder is adorably kooky as Lois Lane. But the Kryptonian villains are everything! Giving you disco S&M glamour. Terence Stamp's General Zod is serving early Priscilla Queen of the Desert bored-queen while Sarah Douglas is FIERCE as glamorous Ursa. You're some sort of big, fat, smart-bug aren't you? We watched Starship Troopers (1997) with out friend Matthew Farris and we suddenly feel the need for a shower. This socio-political satire disguised as a shoot-em-up scifi movie is packed with hidden homo-tendencies... you just have to know where to look. The cast is so beautiful they all look like they were carved out of cream cheese. The combined hotness of Casper Van Dien, Denise Richards and Dina Meyer can power a small city for weeks. Not to mention the infamous co-ed shower scene brought to you by director Paul Verhoeven's (Showgirls, Basic Instinct) egalitarian view on the future of warfare. A twink-ish Neil Patrick Harris as a psychic special forces general, shirtless corporal punishment and army barracks grab-ass round out the scenes that have stayed with us since we were baby gays watching this movie with our oblivious families. You know it's rude to read a persons diary, it's private! We watched Notes on a Scandal (2006) with our friend Paul from That Aged Well Podcast and sometimes we all feel like bitter old virgins. New art teacher Sheba Hart (Cate Blanchett) catches the attention of cynical "battle ax" Barbara Covett (Judy Dench). Sheba's affair with a fifteen-year-old student becomes a tool in Barbara's plot to manipulate and possess Sheba and the antics ensue. The "predatory lesbian" tropes aside, this movie is high-camp melodrama worthy of midnight screenings and drag queen lip syncs. The once mousy Sheba taunting Babs with her own diary entries has us cackling every time. "You think this is a love affair?!" The intense score by Phillip Glass and the tight 92 minute runtime only add to the list of reasons to watch this movie today! Catholic envy (while Jewish), lost virginity to the dreamy Michael Schoeffling (Sixteen Candles) and 60's Halloween costumes abound in this sweet coming of age comedy. We needed hearts, not diamonds! We watched The Fan (1981) with the very funny Jeff Nelson and we could use a warm cup of High Point coffee! Lauren Bacall plays a Broadway actress with an obsessive fan played by Michael Biehn who may, or may not be a closet-case (spoiler alert: he totally is). A pre-Terminator (sexy as hell) Biehn spends the movie typing explicit letters to Sally Ross (Bacall) but is rejected at every turn. Maureen Stapleton as Sally's no-nonsense secretary and James Garner as Sally's would-be love interest round out the cast and when the three of them shared the screen I could smell the second hand smoke from their voices alone. The play within the movie is the most homosexual thing I've seen in a long time - and this is the same movie with Michael Biehn jumping into a YMCA pool in his boxer shorts. In New York City. Faye Dunaway's performance as Joan Crawford is high camp, high drama and we can't look away! This movie cemented itself as a gay camp classic the minute Faye turns around and reveals Joans face in the first scene of the movie. Is Joan a villain or just misunderstood? John Hughes' masterpiece of the class struggle in American high schools is as timely today as it was in the consumerist 80's. Molly Ringwald's "grandma-chic" Andy is relatable without being a MarySue and Duckie (Jon Cryer) is the archetype coded gay best friend. Is Blane (Andrew McCarthy) too much of a wimp for Andy? Maybe. Break out your "Schizos and Serial Killers" trading cards, we watched Addams Family Values (1993) with our friend Andy Ur and we're all Graceful, Delicate Ballerinas! As Thanksgiving movies go, this is… really the only one we could think of. This movie is full of more queer subtext than you can shake a stick at. Joan Cusack as murderous "Black Widow" Debbie Jellinsky is nothing short of iconic. Get ready to listen to some questionable Aussie accents as we recount this mid-90's gem that introduced the world to ICON Toni Collette. Muriel (Collette) yearns to leave her oppressive family, evil friends and and boring town of Porpoise Spit for the big city life in Sydney. She just happens to steal thousands to get there. Hey, if my mom handed me blank check to kick off my burgeoning MLM business I just might embezzle a grand or two to start a new life myself. Some of you might mis-remember this as a lighthearted comedy but we're here to tell you it gets dark - but only right before Muriel gets her happy ending. Indeed her life is just as good as Dancing Queen.

We take a trip through the "Universal Classic Monsters"catalogue and find out what makes this entry so queer. Mincing mad scientists, screeching hausfraus and ersatz domestic partnerships fill this gothic masterpiece, but it's Lanchester's brief performance that cements this movie in queer cinema history. The Bride did more for gays, goths and cholas with nothing more than 5 minutes of screen time, a shake and go wig and an eyebrow pencil than any of us could muster in a lifetime. The Dream Master? Sounds like a game show host to me. We watched A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master with our pal Jacob Randall (Crime of Your Life) and we have matching luggage again. Smack in the middle of a mini-trilogy within a 7 movie franchise (we don't count Freddy vs. Jason or the remake) Dream Master breathes new life into Elm Street with "fresh meat." Legendary Lisa Wilcox plays Alice Johnson and helped little horror loving gay boys across the land recognize their queerness when we all figured out we wanted to BE Alice when we grow up. Starting the movie meek and insecure, Alice grows into a kick ass, back flipping, nunchuck spinning, laser beam wielding beyotch! Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) has become the template for the "final girl" and her horny friends gave way to the basic "Scream" rules to survive a horror film (never have sex, drink or do drugs or say "I'll be right back"). We watched Fright Night (1985) with our friends Kevin Jones & Chris Moore but you may know them as the Homos on Haunted Hill. Apparently the filmmakers didn't include the glaring queerness on purpose but the cast alone betrays its homo tendencies. Roddy McDowall, Amanda Bearse and future adult film star Stephen Geoffreys turn up the camp in this tale of a sexy vampire moving to the suburbs. William Ragsdale is cute but harmless as our hero Charley who is so enthralled by the sexy Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon) he's constantly fighting off his perfectly willing (and horny) girlfriend (Bearse). Geoffreys' over the top performance as Evil Ed may have been intended as comic relief but his Bobcat Goldthwait on Four Loko delivery comes across somehow as charming. This infamous movie follows Al Pacino as a police officer who goes undercover in the gay leather & S&M scene in early 80's era New York City. What we get is a snapshot of a gay subculture from a long-gone time, when all we had to worry about was serial killers, getting busted for walking in front of the wrong bar and getting roughed up by giant muscle men in jock straps in the interrogation room. Director William Friedkin (The Exorcist, The Boys in the Band) is up to his old tricks - inserting "subliminal" frames of adult films into the murder scenes! This Uber-meta film about the film industry gave the world one of the most glamorous, tragic and straight up bananas performances of the 20th Century in Gloria Swanson's portrayal of Norma Desmond. William Holden is also giving us major beef-cake daddy vibes as Joe Gillis, the screenwriter turned gigolo who finds himself on the business end of Norma's amorous affections. If you're anything like us, after watching this movie you'll be perfecting your Norma Desmond impression while manufacturing a turban out of a tea towel and prancing around the house in your most glamorous caftan. We watched Twister (1996) with the awesome Jessica Granger and Amy Fox (ep 20 Never Been Kissed) and we always knew there was something about that Helen Hunt.
