The team also earned Top Time of the Meet and Fastest Naturally Aspirated Motorcycle and increased the speed of their world’s fastest BMW motorcycle to 238.398 mph. This week on our motorcycle podcast we share the story of a young man with no hope. He had been told that his Harley was done for, and he was completely heartbroken. But alas, in a last ditch effort of hope, he brought his bike to the Re-Cycle Garage to meet the wizard herself, Miss Emma. She looked the bike up and down, spun her magic wand and muttered the secret phrase "Potato-potato-potato". And voila! Suddenly the bike was running perfect. All traces of it's engine problems were gone. The boy rode off into the sunset and all was good again in the land of merry Misfits. The Misfits received an invitation from Honda to come down to their headquarters in S. Cali. So Emma and Liza headed down to LA for a weekend of fun. We got so many great interviews that we are going to split them up into their own mini episodes. This is the first of the series: Our first stop was to the Honda HQ in Torrance, Ca. We headed into the main building to meet Colin Miller, who had invited us down. Just the lobby was impressive, with motorcycles, lawn mowers, engines and accessories on display. This week on our motorcycle podcast we start the show out with the bad news, and bring it back up all the way to the end. Sadly racer Carlen Dunne has crashed and died while setting a new record at Pikes Peak Hill Climb. This is a huge loss for the world. Also, one of our own was in a freak motorcycle accident, and we send our best wishes to his long recovery. Now lets take it back up. Oh wait, not quite done. Liza and Jim went on an epic ride and managed to kill 1 ground squirrel apiece. Condolences to the squirrels families as well. Okay, now we can take it back up. We start off with Rob Dingman President and CEO of the AMA, and talk about Malcolm Smith and how the AMA will classify electric bikes in racing events. Then we talk with Jim Carducci, of Carducci Dual Sport Motorcycles. He made a Harley Baja Racer for Tony Gera, who will compete in the Iron Man event on this sweet bike. We checked out the Curtiss Motorcycles booth which included their new electric bike, and talked to CEO Matt Chambers about the transition from Confederate to Curtiss, and how their electric bike is truly different from anything else out there. Helite airbag vests were there too, so we stopped by to talk to Knute about their new airbag jackets, which give you no clue to the airbag hidden inside. Well, apparently not too hard for Shea, because he's doing it. This thing will be fast. Maybe 300 mph fast.
