Ep 1414BIG 12 POWER RANKINGS: BYU Is CLEAR No. 1, Texas Tech Slips, Utah Holds, West Virginia Down, TCU?

Chaos reigned supreme across the Big 12 this weekend, completely upending the conference and shaking the national landscape. The biggest shockwave came from Tempe, where the unranked Arizona State Sun Devils upset the undefeated, No. 7 Texas Tech Red Raiders in a nail-biting 26-22 final. Texas Tech, one of the nation's last remaining unbeatens, scored 15 straight points late in the fourth quarter to snatch a 22-19 lead with just two minutes left. But ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt—back from injury—led a masterful 75-yard drive, culminating in a game-winning touchdown run with 34 seconds left, handing the Red Raiders their first loss and causing a massive field-storming celebration. The drama continued in Provo with a ranked rendition of the Holy War rivalry, where No. 15 BYU edged No. 23 Utah, 24-21. The game was a fierce, defensive battle, marred by questionable fourth-down decisions by Utah's coach and a late-game interception. The Cougars' true freshman QB, Bear Bachmeier, played hero, delivering an incredible, tackle-breaking 22-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. The win propelled the 7-0 Cougars into a tie for first place in the conference.Adding to the upheaval, Houston stunned Oklahoma State with a decisive 39-17 road win, and Colorado scored a major upset over a ranked Iowa State team. This perfect storm of upsets and close calls shattered the top of the Big 12 standings, leaving BYU as the conference's last undefeated team and proving that in the new Big 12, every single week is a toss-upSupport Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!QuoSee why over 90,000 businesses trust Quo, formerly OpenPhone. Ep 1415From BYU to Baylor, Drake Toll's Family NEEDS YOUR HELP AND PRAYERS! | Life-Threatening PANS Disease

Drake Toll's family is going through a serious, brutal health crisis with his brother Landon, the kindest human you've ever met. If you have any information, please share this video and comment below. If not, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) are debilitating conditions characterized by a sudden and dramatic onset of neurological and psychiatric symptoms in children. PANDAS is the more specific and established term, referring to a subtype of PANS where the symptoms are triggered specifically by a Group A Streptococcus (strep) infection, such as strep throat. It is hypothesized to be an autoimmune reaction where the body's immune system, in fighting the strep bacteria, mistakenly creates antibodies that attack the basal ganglia—a region of the brain involved in motor control, emotion, and behavior. PANS is the broader umbrella diagnosis, used when a child experiences the same acute, severe onset of symptoms but the trigger is not definitively a strep infection. PANS has been linked to other infections (like flu or Lyme disease), immune system issues, or environmental factors. The defining characteristic of both disorders is the acute onset—the symptoms "explode" in severity, often reaching full intensity within 24 to 48 hours, leaving parents feeling as though they've "lost their child." Core Symptoms and Treatment The symptoms are wide-ranging and fall into three main criteria for diagnosis: Sudden, severe onset of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) or severely restricted food intake. Concurrent, abrupt onset of at least two other severe neuropsychiatric symptoms, which can include severe separation anxiety, motor or vocal tics, emotional lability (extreme mood swings and rage), behavioral regression, and sudden deterioration in school performance. Symptoms are not better explained by a known medical or neurological disorder. Treatment typically employs a three-pronged approach: treating the underlying infection with antimicrobials (such as antibiotics for PANDAS), managing the inflammation and immune system dysfunction with anti-inflammatory drugs or, in severe cases, immunomodulatory therapies like IVIG, and providing psychological support with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to manage the OCD and anxiety symptoms. Early and comprehensive intervention is crucial. Ep 1412STUNNER: BYU Pulls Off RIVALRY UPSET Over Utah, Kyle Whittingham GONE, Bear Bachmeier DAWG, CFP Now?

Holy War Heroics: Bachmeier Leads No. 15 BYU Past No. 23 Utah 24-21 In a classic "Holy War" showdown with massive Big 12 implications, the No. 15 BYU Cougars defeated the No. 23 Utah Utes 24-21 on Saturday night in Provo. The victory, BYU's third straight over their bitter rivals, keeps the Cougars (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) undefeated and is a defining win for freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier. The closely contested game lived up to its rivalry billing, with both teams struggling for control early. BYU managed a 10-7 halftime lead, capitalizing on a late muffed punt by the Utes. Utah (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) took its first lead early in the fourth quarter on a 49-yard touchdown run by Daniel Bray, making the score 14-10. However, the Cougar offense roared to life to reclaim the momentum. Wide receiver Parker Kingston punched in a 12-yard jet sweep touchdown to put BYU back in front 17-14. The decisive play came moments later after a Utah interception. Faced with a crucial 3rd-and-11, Bachmeier broke multiple tackles for an unforgettable, gritty 22-yard touchdown run, extending the lead to 24-14 with just over four minutes remaining.Despite a late Utah touchdown with 1:24 left, BYU recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the victory. Bachmeier finished the night with 229 yards of total offense (166 passing, 64 rushing) and two scores, while junior running back LJ Martin added 122 yards on the ground. Utah's failure to convert on three separate fourth-down attempts deep in BYU territory proved to be the ultimate difference in the tightly fought contest. The Cougars will surely climb the AP Top 25 Poll, while the Utes face a potential drop after the hard-fought loss.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!QuoSee why over 90,000 businesses trust Quo, formerly OpenPhone. Ep 1409NEW: Hall of Fame Coach, NFL Player BREAK DOWN BYU, Utah Match Up, Recap ALL College Football Games

The Big 12 conference race has taken an unexpected turn at the midway point of the season, with the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the BYU Cougars establishing themselves as two of the conference's leading contenders. Both teams boast identical 6-0 overall records and a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play, currently sharing the top spot.Ranked No. 7 nationally, Texas Tech is arguably the most dominant team in the league. Their success stems from a punishing ground game and an elite defense that ranks among the nation’s top five in scoring defense, stifling opponents week after week. On offense, running back Cameron Dickey has been phenomenal, racking up massive yardage and touchdowns. This rushing prowess has been vital, compensating for the recurring injury issues of quarterback Behren Morton, whose role has been capably filled by backup Will Hammond when needed. Coach Joey McGuire has built a physical, disciplined team that is proving its capability to compete for a conference title—a feat the program has never achieved.Meanwhile, No. 15 BYU is affirming its status as a permanent Big 12 threat in just its second straight season of competition. The Cougars are 6-0, riding the momentum of true freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier. Bachmeier has been a revelation, utilizing both his arm and legs to lead the offense and emerging as a surprise standout in the league. BYU’s overall performance is similarly balanced, boasting one of the conference’s best total defenses and showcasing mental toughness in close matchups. With both teams undefeated in league play, the second half of the season promises high drama. BYU faces their biggest test yet this week in the annual "Holy War" rivalry against No. 23 Utah, while Texas Tech takes on reigning Big 12 champion Arizona State on the road. The surprising success of the Red Raiders and Cougars signals a changing of the guard, promising an unpredictable and exciting finish to the Big 12 season.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. Ep 1410LOL: BYU, Big 12 Analysts DUNK On Utah Host, Holy War Banter and Mike Gundy Fired On Big 12 Squad

The rivalry between Brigham Young University (BYU) and the University of Utah, known universally as "The Holy War," transcends traditional sports competition, establishing itself as one of the most bitterly ruthless contests in American collegiate athletics. Its intensity is rooted not merely in proximity, but in the deep cultural and ideological divide separating the two institutions: BYU as the flagship school of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), and Utah as the state’s large, secular, public university. This fundamental dichotomy elevates the annual contest—traditionally in football—into a battle for regional identity and bragging rights. The ruthlessness is palpable on and off the field, manifesting in aggressive, high-contact games often decided by narrow margins. Decades of close matchups, coupled with an infamous nine-game winning streak for Utah that stretched from 2010 to 2019, have fueled the hostility, ensuring that every tackle and pass is loaded with psychological weight. What makes it truly ruthless is the familial and social pressure. Most residents of Utah have ties to one institution or the other, often pitting siblings, parents, and colleagues against each other. For the players, losing means enduring a year of relentless teasing and second-guessing from family members and neighbors. While the nature of the rivalry may change now that both schools compete in the Big 12 Conference, its hostile, winner-take-all spirit remains, ensuring that "The Holy War" will continue to be defined by its high stakes and merciless competitiveness.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. Ep 1406EXHAUSTED: Are Big 12 Fans TIRED OF BYU, UTAH Banter, Has Holy War Overstayed Its Welcome In 2025?

The rivalry between the Brigham Young University Cougars and the University of Utah Utes, known colloquially as the “Holy War,” stands out in college football for its exceptional intensity. While geographical proximity always fuels a rivalry—the schools are barely 45 miles apart on Interstate 15—this particular feud is truly fierce because it involves a potent blend of cultural identity, religious difference, and now, major conference championship implications. At its core, the Holy War is a “Church versus State” clash. BYU is a private institution owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, drawing a devoutly religious student body and fanbase. Utah, conversely, is the flagship public, secular university of the state. This dichotomy allows the rivalry to serve as a proxy war for broader cultural debates, turning football—and all athletic competition—into a personal mandate. It is not uncommon for members of the same family or neighbors living on the same street to have fiercely divided loyalties, ensuring that the winner claims year-long, deeply personal bragging rights.Adding to the historical venom is the sheer competitiveness of the matchup. Games are rarely blowouts; instead, they are often decided by dramatic, last-minute, or controversial plays, contributing to a sense of unresolved animosity. Now that both programs are reunited in the Big 12 Conference, the stakes have returned to their historical high. Every Holy War game carries the weight of a potential conference title or a coveted spot in the College Football Playoff race. This restoration of meaningful consequence, layered atop the deep, inherent cultural friction, ensures the rivalry remains one of the most hostile and captivating in the nation.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. Ep 1403ANALYTICS: BYU Has One KEY STAT to BLOW OUT UTAH in Holy War, LJ Martin and Bear Bachmeier Run Wild?

This is a great question, as it highlights a fascinating matchup between two key elements of the BYU and Utah football programs right now, especially as they enter the same conference. Based on current season performance and analysis: 1. BYU's Run Game: Very Good and Reliable BYU's running game is proving to be a true strength of their offense and a major reason for their success this season. It's an offense that is built to lean heavily on the ground attack. Top of the Conference: The Cougars are ranked highly in the Big 12 for both total rushing yards and rushing yards per game. Committee Approach: Despite some volatility and injuries in the running back room, the team has excelled using a committee approach, backed by strong offensive line play and creative play-calling. Primary Weapons: LJ Martin is the "bell cow" and primary back, averaging a very high number of yards per carry. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier is also a major factor, functioning as the team's second-leading rusher with a significant number of carries and rushing touchdowns, adding a critical dual-threat dimension. Statistically Strong: The Cougars are running the ball on a high percentage of their plays and have a strong yards-per-carry average, which is indicative of a successful and deliberate ground attack. 2. Utah's Run Defense: Questionable at the Moment While Utah is traditionally known for a dominant, physical defense, their run defense is being viewed as a major weakness and a vulnerability this season. Breakdown in Consistency: Utah's defense recently had a major lapse in a game against West Virginia, where they allowed the Mountaineers' offense to put up over 500 yards and 48 points, with a significant part of that damage coming on the ground. Personnel Concerns: A key weakness being identified is the lack of experience at defensive tackle. Utah is historically strong at developing linemen, but in the short term, this lack of depth and experience in the interior of the defensive line can make it easier for opponents to find push and create running lanes. Tackling Issues: In recent games where the defense struggled, tackling was highlighted as a significant problem, which is a killer against a strong rushing team. Ep 1407BIG 12 BEST BETS: Utah or BYU? Texas Tech Rolls Again, Baylor Upsets TCU, West Virginia Slips Again

This weekend's Big 12 slate is absolutely phenomenal—a testament to the new depth and competitive fire of the expanded conference. It's a slate that will define the top tier and eliminate several contenders, providing non-stop, high-stakes football. The marquee matchup is the "Holy War" between #23 Utah and #15 BYU in Provo. This in-state rivalry is already electric, but with both teams ranked and Big 12 title aspirations on the line, the atmosphere will be completely unhinged. Ep 1408ARRESTED: Fan Who Threatened to Shoot Utah Fans at BYU, Holy War Game is IN CUSTODY, Rivalry Too Far

The intense rivalry between Brigham Young University (BYU) and the University of Utah, known locally as the "Holy War," escalated into a serious legal matter when an individual was arrested for allegedly threatening violence against Utah fans. Christopher Justice, a known BYU supporter, was taken into custody by the Utah Department of Corrections after posting explicit threats online ahead of a scheduled football game between the two schools. The threats reportedly contained plans to shoot University of Utah fans, prompting immediate action by law enforcement and underscoring the severity with which such statements are treated. The arrest brought significant attention to the often-heated nature of the in-state rivalry. While most fan activity remains passionate but non-violent, this incident served as a stark reminder of the minority of fans who take team loyalty to dangerous extremes. Authorities acted quickly to investigate the threats, ensuring the safety of spectators and personnel at the upcoming event. Adding a layer of unintended irony to the situation, reports noted that the suspect, Christopher Justice, was already on probation following previous DUI convictions. The situation sparked widespread discussion on social media and news platforms regarding the necessity of maintaining sportsmanship and boundaries, even amidst one of college football's most storied and contentious rivalries. The incident was widely condemned by both fan bases, eager to separate extreme behavior from the traditional spirit of competition. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Ep 1405TRUE: Big 12, Brett Yormark Are ONLY Rooting for BYU, Texas Tech, Utah to Win College Football Games

The narrative that the Big 12 needs teams like BYU, Utah, and Texas Tech to consistently win is based on the conference's post-realignment reality and its need to establish a new identity for the College Football Playoff (CFP) era. With the departure of longtime pillars Texas and Oklahoma, the conference's national perception now hinges on the success of its remaining mainstays and its high-profile new additions. Here is a breakdown of why consistent winning from these three programs is considered vital for the Big 12's national relevance: 1. The Need for National "Flagship" Programs After losing the two biggest brands to the SEC, the Big 12 needs new teams to rise into the national conversation to replace the old narrative.Texas Tech (The Established Flag-Bearer): As a legacy Big 12 member and the largest university remaining in the state of Texas, the Red Raiders have been aggressively positioned as a potential new flagship program. With significant investment in coaching and recruiting, a winning Tech team is crucial for holding the Texas market and providing the conference with a consistent, high-ceiling contender with a large, passionate fanbase. When Texas Tech is winning and ranked highly, it elevates the entire conference's profile.Utah (The Immediate Contender): Utah is the most established, physical, and proven program among the former Pac-12 additions. They came into the Big 12 having won multiple Pac-12 championships. If Utah can immediately compete for the Big 12 title, it proves the conference has integrated a top-tier team that can win with an SEC-style physicality—a valuable counter-narrative to the idea that the Big 12 is merely a league of "spread offenses" and "fireworks." 2. Validating the Conference's Expansion Strategy The Big 12's bold expansion was designed to create depth and geographic reach. Consistent winning validates that strategy.BYU (The Brand and National Reach): BYU brings a massive, worldwide following and a history of national prominence. For the Big 12, the Cougars' success is a win in national exposure and brand cachet. A highly-ranked BYU team gives the conference a second-pillar program with a unique, passionate fanbase that draws viewers from outside the typical regional footprint. Their early performance, including strong wins, suggests they can immediately compete at the top of the conference, which is essential to the league's credibility.Creating a "12-Team Playoff" Argument: In the expanded CFP format, the Big 12 needs to argue for multiple at-large bids, not just the league champion. For this to happen, the conference needs to avoid the reputation of "chaos and parity," where the top teams consistently lose to the middle tier. Having 2-3 teams like Texas Tech, Utah, and BYU firmly established in the Top 15/20 creates the necessary weight for a strong argument to get two or more teams into the playoff. 3. Elevating Strength of Schedule (SOS) In the absence of games against Texas and Oklahoma, quality wins within the Big 12 are paramount.Strong Marquee Matchups: When Texas Tech, BYU, and Utah are all highly ranked, their head-to-head games become must-see TV and highly valuable wins on a College Football Playoff résumé. If they stumble, those wins become less impressive, and the perception of the conference championship is diminished.Setting the Ceiling: If these programs can maintain a high ranking and the conference champion beats them, that champion is given a far stronger national profile and a clearer path to a high seed or a crucial at-large bid. In short, they need each other to win to make their own wins matter more.In the Big 12's new era, the success of Texas Tech, Utah, and BYU is viewed less as a bonus and more as a prerequisite for the conference to be considered on the same competitive tier as the SEC, Big Ten, and a revitalized ACC.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. Ep 1404Why Does America HATE Texas Tech? Drake Toll On ESPN 1660

Texas Tech football, much like the entire environment of Lubbock, Texas, is known for some truly unique and wonderfully weird narratives and traditions. They often center on a mix of defiant underdog spirit, a unique landscape, and a touch of the paranormal. Here are some of the weirdest and most enduring narratives around Red Raider football: 1. The War on Tortillas This is, by far, the most famous and bizarre tradition. The Origin Story: The exact beginning is lost to legend, but two popular theories exist:The Insult: An ESPN announcer or rival writer (often rumored to be from Texas A&M) joked that Lubbock was "nothing but Texas Tech football and a tortilla factory." The students, in a glorious act of defiance, embraced the insult and started tossing tortillas. The Cup Lids: Students started throwing the removable plastic lids from large stadium drink cups. When the administration banned the lids, the students simply replaced them with a cheap, easy-to-throw, and aerodynamically-sound substitute: the flour tortilla. The Tradition: Today, thousands of tortillas are thrown onto the field during the opening kickoff of every home game (and often after big plays). The Conflict: For years, the university administration, fearful of penalties and clean-up costs, tried to ban the practice, creating the legendary "Tortilla Police." However, the tradition has proved too strong to eliminate, and the current approach is generally to embrace it and ensure a quick cleanup. 2. The "Air Raid" Curse/Identity For years, the identity of Texas Tech football was entirely wrapped up in the Air Raid offense popularized by former coach Mike Leach. The Narrative: The team was always celebrated for its ability to throw the ball at a record-breaking pace—a "fireworks show" where they could score on anyone. However, the accompanying narrative was that they were terrible on defense and couldn't run the ball to save their lives. The Weirdness: For over a decade, fans and analysts debated whether a team could ever win a major championship without a solid defense and running game, constantly pinning the program's perceived ceiling on the inherent limitations of the system, creating a persistent, existential curse around offensive-only excellence. The Current Shift: The most current narrative shift is the attempt to "change the narrative" by focusing on a more balanced approach, but the long shadow of the Air Raid still hangs over the program's identity. 3. The Ghost Rider and Campus Hauntings A few of the school's deepest traditions and legends have a spooky, spectral element to them. The Masked Rider: The official mascot of the team is the Masked Rider, a person in black and red leading the team out on a black horse. The original version of this tradition, which began in 1936, was called the "Ghost Rider" because the rider's identity was kept secret, and they would circle the field at home games and seemingly vanish, adding a mysterious, almost supernatural flair to the game-day spectacle. The Heartbroken Ghost: There are long-standing campus ghost stories, most notably a heartbroken student who is said to haunt the campus, appearing to search for his love, especially around the annual "Carol of Lights" ceremony. While not directly tied to the football field, this story adds to the weird, often isolated, and atmospheric culture of the university. 4. Will Rogers and Soapsuds: Riding in the Wrong Direction While not a direct football narrative, this is a beloved campus quirk that embodies the spirit of Tech's defiance. The Statue: A famous statue of Will Rogers on his horse, Soapsuds, sits on campus. The Story: According to legend, the statue was supposed to face west so that Rogers could ride into the Texas sunset. However, if it faced west, Soapsuds' rear end would be facing Downtown Lubbock, which was deemed unacceptable. The Quirk: The statue was therefore turned to face another direction. As a fun tradition, the horse's neck is wrapped in red crepe paper before every home football game, but the deeper meaning is the enduring image of a famous icon on a horse that can't quite get his direction right.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. Ep 1402TRUE: BYU, Utah is BIGGEST GAME in New Big 12 HISTORY, Holy War as TOP-25 FOOTBALL GAME In Provo

The BYU vs. Utah "Holy War" this Saturday, October 18, 2025, is absolutely massive, carrying both local passion and significant national stakes. Here's why this edition is shaping up to be one of the biggest in years: 1. Conference & National Implications This is the most consequential Holy War in a long time, thanks to the two programs being together in the Big 12:Both Ranked: For the first time in many seasons, both teams are ranked. BYU comes in undefeated at No. 15, and Utah has fought its way back into the rankings at No. 23. The Big 12 Race: This is a crucial conference matchup. BYU is a perfect 6-0 and 3-0 in Big 12 play, leading the standings. A win for the Cougars firmly establishes them as a potential conference title contender. A Utah win gives them a massive resume boost and sends the Big 12 race into chaos. Top 25 Matchup on Prime Time: The game has earned the national prime-time slot on FOX (6:00 PM MT/8:00 PM ET), giving it maximum national exposure and confirming its status as a marquee event. FOX's "Big Noon Kickoff" pregame show is also broadcasting live from Provo. 2. The Rivalry is Back to Peak Intensity After years of the rivalry being an out-of-conference match, the Big 12 alignment has restored the venomous, high-stakes nature of the contest:The 2024 Drama: The last meeting was arguably the most controversial in recent memory. BYU won 22-21 in Salt Lake City on a last-second field goal, a drive that was heavily aided by a late-game penalty against Utah. The outrage from the Utes' side, including their Athletic Director publicly criticizing the officiating, has kept the fire raging for the past year. Undefeated vs. Vengeance: BYU is the undefeated team, playing at home in a sold-out LaVell Edwards Stadium. Utah is coming for revenge, looking to stop their in-state rivals' perfect season and silence the chatter from the previous year. The Church vs. State Narrative: The deeply ingrained cultural clash between the private, religious BYU and the public, secular Utah is always the fuel for the "Holy War" moniker, ensuring the emotion is amplified tenfold. 3. Star-Powered Matchup The game features some of the best statistical teams in the Big 12:Both teams boast Top 5 scoring offenses and Top 5 defenses in the conference. It pits two of the Big 12's most potent rushing attacks against each other, setting the stage for a physical, trench-warfare battle. Ep 1400INSANE WEEK: BYU SHOCKS Arizona, Utah BLOWS OUT Arizona State, Texas Tech CRUSHES Kansas, TCU Bad?

Chaos Reigns: Upsets and Scares Define Wild Saturday in the Big 12 Saturday in the Big 12 proved that the expanded league is embracing chaos, featuring a major upset, a late-night thriller, and a scare for a Top 10 team. The headliner was Colorado’s statement 24-17 upset victory over No. 22 Iowa State in Boulder. The Buffaloes earned their first Big 12 win of the season and second over a ranked opponent under Coach Prime, relying on a fourth-quarter interception and a clutch defensive stop to hold off the Cyclones and throw a wrench into the conference standings. Meanwhile, No. 9 Texas Tech survived a significant scare during its Homecoming game against Kansas. The Red Raiders burst out to a 21-0 lead, but the Jayhawks, led by quarterback Jalon Daniels, showed resilience, fighting back to cut the deficit to just 21-17 at halftime. Despite losing quarterback Behren Morton to injury, Tech pulled away in the second half, relying on a massive 263-yard, two-touchdown rushing performance from Cameron Dickey to secure the 42-17 victory and remain undefeated. In a late-night battle, No. 18 BYU narrowly escaped an upset on the road, defeating Arizona 33-27 in double-overtime to keep their perfect record intact. Elsewhere, Utah delivered a dominating 42-10 victory over No. 21 Arizona State, running for 276 yards and six touchdowns, thoroughly dismantling the Sun Devils' highly-rated run defense. The day firmly establishes the Big 12 as one of college football's most unpredictable conferences.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. Ep 1398College Football Kickoff: Bob Stoops on Red River Rivalry and Oregon’s Big Test

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are having a stellar, perhaps historic, start to the 2025 college football season under Coach Joey McGuire. As of early October 2025, the team is undefeated with a 5-0 record (2-0 in the Big 12) and has soared into the national rankings. Following a dominant victory over Houston, the Red Raiders climbed into the Top 10 for the first time in over a decade, hitting No. 9 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the AFCA Coaches Poll. Their performance has been marked by overwhelming dominance: Total Control: Texas Tech is the only team in the country to have won all of its first five games by at least a 24-point margin, outscoring opponents 243-56. Elite Offense and Defense: The Red Raiders boast one of the nation's best offenses and defenses. They rank highly in the FBS in: Total Offense (around #3 nationally) Scoring Offense (around #3 nationally, averaging over 44 points per game) Scoring Defense (around #6 nationally, allowing just over 12 points per game) Key Players: Quarterback Behren Morton has been a strong leader, throwing for over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns. The defense has also been a major strength, leading the nation in takeaways and with veteran players like Jacob Rodriguez receiving Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year consideration. This 5-0 start is the Red Raiders' best since 2013, fueling high hopes that this team is built to compete for its first-ever Big 12 Championship. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Ep 1399HOT TAKE: Texas Tech's PERFECT New Logo? BYU, Utah NEED TO WIN, BROKE NIL Schools | Big 12 Squad

Texas Tech Athletics recently unveiled a major rebrand focused on its visual identity, set to be fully implemented for the 2026-2027 academic year. The core of the rebrand revolves around a return to a classic, cleaner look, which fans have been requesting. Here are the key details: 1. The Modernized Double T Logo"Level the Bevel": The biggest change is a "modernized" Double T logo. This is essentially a return to the historic flat, non-beveled Double T, removing the 3D black shading that has been used since 2000. Design: The new design is clean, flat, and features proportional elements and updated colorways, drawing inspiration from logos used by the school from 1963-1999. Rollout: The logo will be on all athletics uniforms starting with the 2026-2027 season. It is already visible on the turf practice field and the new United Supermarkets Arena court. 2. Additional Marks and CaricaturesThe rebrand introduces a full suite of updated athletic marks: Rearing Masked Rider: A modernized version of a classic rearing Masked Rider logo will serve as the new secondary mark for athletics. Tertiary Marks: A logo pairing the modernized Double T with the new Rearing Masked Rider. A revised Texas state outline with the modernized Double T overlaid. Raider Red Caricatures: Refreshed, sport-specific caricatures of the mascot, Raider Red, have also been developed. Important DistinctionThe new modernized Double T and accompanying marks are exclusive to the Texas Tech Athletics Department. The main university will continue to use the beveled, three-dimensional Double T as its official campus brand identity. 100th Anniversary Throwback: For their 2025 Homecoming game, Texas Tech is wearing special throwback-inspired uniforms to celebrate the program's 100th anniversary. These black jerseys feature a simple red "TECH" across the chest (from the 1925 team) and the flat Double T on the collar. "GalvanICED" Alternate Uniform: In a collaboration with alum and Adidas athlete Patrick Mahomes, the team unveiled a special "GalvanICED" white uniform for a November game, which features Mahomes' Gladiator logo and galvanized, metallic-looking numbers. Ep 1396NEW: Big 10 Conference is COLLAPSING Over Private Equity, Selling Out as SEC, Big 12 Thrive in NIL

The Big Ten Conference is reportedly in advanced discussions for a private capital infusion of at least $2 billion from private equity firms. This potential deal is one of the most significant and transformative financial moves ever considered in college athletics, driven by the need for upfront cash and long-term stability in a rapidly evolving landscape, especially following the NCAA's settlement requiring direct revenue sharing with student-athletes.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SupplyHouseJoin the free TradeMaster program today and score serious perks like priority shipping, lower prices, and a dedicated support line. This entity would consolidate and manage the conference's revenue-generating assets, such as media rights and sponsorships. Financial Structure: The private capital firm would receive a small equity stake in Big Ten Enterprises—often cited as one of 20 shares (18 schools, the league, and the investor). In exchange for the up-front capital, the investor would receive annual payouts proportional to their share, but crucially, would have no influence over core governance (like scheduling, officiating, or championships). Upfront Payments and Tiered Distribution: The $2 billion would provide a substantial immediate cash payment to each of the 18 member schools, potentially in the nine-figure range. The money would be distributed using a tiered formula, likely favoring larger programs like Ohio State and Michigan. Grant of Rights Extension: A key component of the deal is a proposed 10-year extension of the league's grant of rights until 2046. This extension would legally tie member schools to the Big Ten's media rights for decades, effectively locking in the conference and safeguarding against further realignment or the formation of a "super league." The deal currently faces resistance from some major programs, most notably Michigan and Ohio State, as the conference seeks unanimous approval for the controversial move. Ep 1394EXPLAINED: How BYU, Texas Tech Became Big 12 JUGGERNAUTS, NIL Kings In Transfer Portal, Recruiting

Texas Tech and BYU have established themselves as top-tier contenders in the Big 12 Conference for the 2025 college football season, primarily due to their strong starts, high rankings in various polls, and impressive performances on both offense and defense. As of the current standings and power rankings (Week 6/7 of the 2025 season):Both Texas Tech and BYU are undefeated in overall play (5-0) and tied for the best record in conference play (2-0), alongside Arizona State and Cincinnati. They are consistently ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll and are frequently positioned as the top two or three teams in various Big 12 power rankings. Texas Tech Red Raiders: Clear Frontrunner Status Texas Tech is widely regarded by many analysts as the current clear frontrunner for the Big 12 title game, demonstrating dominant play through the first part of the season. Key Strengths: Dominant Performance: The Red Raiders have been exceptional, outclassing nearly every opponent in all facets of the game. They held an impressive 40.8-point average winning margin early in the season and had not trailed in any game at one point. Signature Win: A dominant 34−10 victory over then-ranked Utah on the road solidified their standing as the team to beat. Explosive Offense: They feature a dynamic passing attack and one of the fastest tempos in college football. Quarterback Behren Morton has been productive, and the team boasts multiple receivers contributing significantly. Roster Investment: The team's successful investment in the roster, particularly through the transfer portal to build up the trenches, has paid off, leading some experts to predict a potential top-10 finish and a trip to the Big 12 title game. BYU Cougars: Elite, Underrated Contender BYU has performed well under the radar and holds a perfect record, proving to be a legitimate threat for the conference crown and earning a high standing in official rankings. Key Strengths: Perfect Record and High Standing: BYU is 5−0 overall, 2−0 in conference play, and is ranked in the AP Poll. ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) has even ranked the Cougars ahead of Texas Tech as the Big 12's top team, valuing their overall profile. Freshman Quarterback Success: True freshman QB Bear Bachmeier has been a major factor, quickly developing into the centerpiece of the offense. His poise, physical style, and ability to extend plays are highly valued by predictive models like the FPI. Stout Defense: Early in the season, the BYU defense carried the team, showcasing a disruptive and opportunistic front seven that has proven effective in conference play. Consistency: The Cougars are seeking their second consecutive 5−0 start under head coach Kalani Sitake, demonstrating sustained high performance. Why They are "Best in Class" The primary reasons BYU and Texas Tech are considered the best in the Big 12 right now are their unbeaten records and their top positions in both the Big 12 standings and major power rankings. The conference's new 16-team format has led to great parity, making the consistency and dominance shown by these two teams particularly noteworthy. While Texas Tech is often cited for its dominant wins and high-powered offense, BYU is recognized for its defensive strength, strong running game, and the unexpected high-level play of its freshman quarterback, which gives them a slightly stronger profile according to advanced metrics. The eventual conference championship race is widely expected to be determined by a group of contenders that includes both the Red Raiders and the Cougars. Ep 1393BIG 12 POWER RANKINGS: BYU Rises, Texas Tech Holds, West Virginia Up, Utah Iffy, Iowa State Drops

Saturday, October 4th, 2025, was a signature day for Big 12 chaos, delivering multiple thrilling finishes, a major upset of a ranked team, and a series of dramatic second-half turnarounds. Here's a breakdown of how wild the Big 12 slate was: The Upset Heard 'Round the Conference The biggest news of the day was the upset in Cincinnati, where the Bearcats stayed perfect in Big 12 play by taking down No. 14 Iowa State, 38-30.Cincinnati Takes Down a Ranked Foe: The Bearcats defense came up with clutch stops against the undefeated Cyclones, proving Cincinnati is a serious contender in the conference and knocking one of the league's top-ranked teams out of the ranks of the unbeaten. Ep 1391NEW: BYU BLOWS OUT West Virginia, Jack Kelly OUT With Injury, Bear Bachmeier Turnover in Big 12 Play

The #23 BYU Cougars defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers, 38-24, on Friday night, October 3, 2025, at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah. The victory kept BYU undefeated at 5-0 (2-0 Big 12), while West Virginia dropped to 2-4 (0-3 Big 12). The story of the game was the aerial assault led by BYU's freshman quarterback, Bear Bachmeier, who threw for a career-high 351 yards and a touchdown, adding another score on the ground. Bachmeier connected on several big plays, including a 47-yard pass to Chase Roberts on the first play and a 54-yard touchdown pass to Parker Kingston. Roberts finished with 161 receiving yards, and Kingston had 111, as the Cougars totaled 517 yards of offense. West Virginia, starting freshman quarterback Khalil Wilkins in his first career start, struggled to keep pace. Wilkins was a threat running the ball, totaling 89 rushing yards, but completed only 7-of-15 passes for 81 yards and two interceptions. One interception was returned 49 yards by BYU's Therrian Alexander III, setting up an early touchdown. The Cougars established a commanding 28-10 halftime lead. West Virginia attempted to rally, forcing three turnovers in the game, including a fumble recovery by Fred Perry that led to a Mountaineer touchdown in the third quarter. However, the BYU offense consistently answered, with a long third-quarter drive ending in a field goal and an early fourth-quarter rushing touchdown by LJ Martin. Despite a late 29-yard touchdown pass from West Virginia's backup quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. to Cam Vaughn, the Mountaineers' inability to stop BYU's big passing plays or consistently run the ball proved to be the difference in the Big 12 contest.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1388HUGE: TCU's Gary Patterson LOVES Texas Tech, BYU Up in AP Poll, ACC, Big 12 Combining Conferences?

Based on the current date of October 2nd, the college basketball season has not yet begun, and conference play in the Big 12 generally doesn't start until January. Therefore, there are no Big 12 basketball conference games scheduled for this immediate weekend. However, if we look ahead to the start of the conference schedule, which typically begins in the first week of January (around January 3rd, according to the schedule matrix), the importance of those initial weekends is immense, setting the tone for the entire season. The Big 12 tournament is a complete meat grinder, making every weekend in conference play feel like an elimination round. When the schedule begins, the first full weekend will immediately test the mettle of the league's top-tier teams, who will face off in brutal, highly-ranked matchups. With preseason favorites like Houston, Texas Tech, and BYU, and traditional powers like Kansas and Arizona all positioned near the top, almost any head-to-head game between them on a Saturday will carry enormous weight. In a conference where a 10-8 or 9-9 record might be enough for a bid, every single weekend is massive. When the games truly start in January, expect every Saturday and Monday slate to feature Top 25 implications, where a single road win or home loss can be the difference between a high NCAA Tournament seed and falling onto the bubble. The very first week of January, therefore, will be the true "big weekend" that kicks off the most competitive conference race in the nation. Ep 1389FULL PREVIEW: BYU Over West Virginia, Baylor Drubs Kansas State, TCU Back, Arizona?

The Big 12 race heats up this weekend with several pivotal matchups as the conference remains loaded with undefeated and strong teams heading into October. The premier game features a battle of unbeatens as No. 11 Texas Tech (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) travels to face Houston (4-0, 1-0). Texas Tech has been dominant, leading the nation in average winning margin, but Houston is riding high with its own four-game winning streak. The Cyclones have been extremely stingy defensively, but Cincinnati enters with momentum after a thrilling victory over Kansas last week, showcasing a potent offense capable of scoring quickly.Other key conference contests include Kansas State (2-3, 1-1) visiting Baylor (3-2, 1-1) in a battle for bowl eligibility positioning, and Kansas (3-2, 1-1) traveling to UCF (3-1, 0-1) as the Jayhawks try to bounce back from a tough loss and the Knights seek their first Big 12 win. Finally, Colorado (2-3, 0-2) and coach Deion Sanders return to Fort Worth to face TCU (3-1, 0-1) in a game with redemption on both teams' minds. With four undefeated teams still in the mix, this weekend is set to provide clarity in a highly competitive Big 12 title race.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1390ANALYST: Utah Is BACK, Will Win Big 12 Conference, BYU's Quarterback, Texas Tech? | Big 12 Squad

The Utah Utes football program is showing significant improvement in the 2025 season, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, which was a point of weakness in their previous campaign. As of early October 2025, Utah boasts a strong 4-1 overall record (1-1 in the Big 12 Conference) and is ranked in the AP Top 25 poll (No. 25). Here are the key factors contributing to Utah's improved performance: Revamped Offense and New Quarterback: The biggest change is the arrival of new offensive coordinator Jason Beck and transfer quarterback Devon Dampier (both from New Mexico). Dampier, who followed Beck to Salt Lake City, has provided a major spark to the offense, which struggled last year due to injuries and inconsistency. Through five games, Dampier has been highly efficient, completing 72.5% of his passes for over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns. The offense has improved dramatically, ranking 21st nationally in scoring (39.0 points per game) compared to being outside the top 100 last year. They are also ranked 13th nationally in rushing yards per game (242.6). Continued Defensive Excellence: Head Coach Kyle Whittingham's teams are consistently known for their elite defense, and 2025 is no exception. The Utes' defense is among the best in the nation, ranking 20th in points allowed (14.6 points per game) and consistently stifling opposing offenses. This reliable defense provides a strong foundation for the team's success. Veteran Offensive Line: The team returned all five starters on the offensive line, a rarity in college football. This experienced group, led by standout tackles like Spencer Fano, provides excellent pass protection for Dampier and creates running lanes for the running backs. Strong Start: Utah has notched impressive wins, including dominant road victories against UCLA and West Virginia. Their sole loss was a home defeat to a ranked Texas Tech team, but they rebounded with a decisive victory in their next game. In summary, the combination of a high-powered, balanced offense led by a dynamic transfer quarterback/coordinator duo, coupled with the program's customary stout defense, has positioned Utah for a major "bounce-back" season and a potential run for the Big 12 Championship. Ep 1387WAY TOO EARLY Big 12 Basketball Preview: BYU Elite, Houston Dominant, Kansas Crisp, Texas Tech?

The Big 12 is once again poised to be one of the deepest and most challenging conferences in college basketball for the 2025-2026 season. The conference's reputation for rugged competition remains intact, with multiple teams expected to be national contenders and safely projected in the preseason Top 25 rankings.Leading the charge is Houston, fresh off a National Finalist run and consistently ranked near the top of preseason polls, showcasing their ability to reload talent despite key departures. They are joined by reloaded powerhouses like Texas Tech, which returns a star in the frontcourt and added strong transfers, and BYU, which boasts an elite freshman class headlined by a potential lottery pick in AJ Dybantsa. The Cougars' roster depth has them positioned for their most anticipated season in program history.Even traditional bluebloods like Kansas and Arizona—despite roster turnover—remain firmly in the national conversation thanks to strong recruiting classes and elite coaching. The conference's overall strength is amplified by a high volume of key returning players at Iowa State and an influx of top transfer portal talent across the league, seen in programs like Baylor and West Virginia. With so many programs vying for a league title—and an 18-game conference schedule of non-stop battles—the Big 12 will be a grueling test of endurance. Its proven track record of advancing teams deep into the NCAA Tournament suggests the conference will once again be an absolute gauntlet from top to bottom, preparing its contenders perfectly for March Madness.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1386BIG 12 BEST BETS: West Virginia or BYU? Can Iowa State Topple Cincinnati? TCU Over Deion Sanders?

You're right! The Big 12 slate this weekend (October 4-5, 2025) is absolutely loaded with crucial conference matchups, featuring undefeated teams, high-stakes contests for standings, and the drama that comes with a massive 16-team league. Here are the games that make this weekend so much fun: Top-Tier Showdowns & Conference Race Defining Games This week features multiple games where a win vaults a team into the top echelon of the Big 12 standings, and a loss creates an early hole.No. 14 Iowa State at Cincinnati (Sat., 12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2): This is arguably the biggest game of the early slate. The No. 14 Cyclones are 5-0 (2-0 in Big 12) and looking to continue their run as a conference title favorite. They face the Cincinnati Bearcats (3-1, 1-0), who are proving to be a tough out in their new conference and have an explosive offense. An Iowa State win cements their status; a Cincinnati win puts the Bearcats on the map immediately.No. 11 Texas Tech at Houston (Sat., 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN): The No. 11 Red Raiders (4-0, 1-0) are the highest-ranked team playing this week and are traveling to face an undefeated Houston Cougars squad (4-0, 1-0). Both teams are 1-0 in conference play, making this a pivotal early battle for control of the standings. Expect a high-scoring Texas-sized shootout.West Virginia at No. 23 BYU (Fri., 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN): The weekend kicks off with a Friday night thriller in Provo. The No. 23 Cougars (4-0, 1-0) are hoping to keep their perfect season going, but the Mountaineers (2-3, 0-2) are desperate for their first conference win to keep their bowl hopes alive. The atmosphere under the lights should be incredible. Intriguing Mid-Tier Battles These matchups will start to separate the contenders from the rest of the pack in the crowded middle of the league.Colorado at TCU (Sat., 7:30 p.m. ET, FOX): The rematch of the highly publicized 2024 season opener sees Coach Prime's Buffaloes (2-3, 0-2) heading to Fort Worth to take on the Horned Frogs (3-1, 0-1). Both teams are looking for a key conference victory after tough losses last week, making this a high-stakes game for momentum and national attention.Kansas at UCF (Sat., 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2): Two teams that have shown flashes of brilliance clash in Orlando. The Jayhawks (3-2, 1-1) need a road win to stay above .500 in league play, while the Knights (3-1, 0-1) are defending their home turf against a team with an explosive offense. Expect a late-night battle with plenty of scoring.Kansas State at Baylor (Sat., 12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN+): Both the Wildcats (2-3, 1-1) and the Bears (3-2, 1-1) are coming off a mix of wins and losses and are looking for consistency. The winner of this matchup gains a crucial advantage in the race for a good bowl position and establishes their identity in the Big 12.The sheer volume of meaningful games, including several where both teams have winning records, underscores the exciting depth of the expanded Big 12 this weekend! Ep 1385GOOD: Big 12 HAMMERS Colorado For Anti-BYU, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chant

The Big 12 Conference has issued a $50,000 fine and a public reprimand to the University of Colorado for inappropriate and derogatory fan chants that occurred during the football game against Brigham Young University (BYU). Key Details of the Incident: The Game: The incident took place at Folsom Field in Boulder during the Colorado vs. BYU football game on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The Violation: The fine was levied due to hateful and discriminatory language, specifically religious slurs directed at BYU and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), the church that sponsors BYU. The chants were audible during the game. The Penalty: Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark issued the fine, stating that "Hateful and discriminatory language has no home in the Big 12 Conference," and that the league maintains "zero tolerance for such behavior." The Response: The University of Colorado, including Chancellor Justin Schwartz and Athletic Director Rick George, issued a statement condemning the behavior, calling it "deeply disappointing" and not reflective of the university's values of respect and inclusion. Coach Deion Sanders also publicly apologized to BYU during his weekly news conference. This move reinforces the Big 12's policy of penalizing member institutions for fan behavior that violates the conference's Principles and Standards of Sportsmanship.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1384ROBBED: BYU, Iowa State, Utah Disrespected By AWFUL AP Poll Voters, Don't Watch College Football

The complaint that the Associated Press (AP) Poll "neglects" the Big 12 Conference is a recurring and widely discussed topic among college football fans and analysts. This perception stems from several systemic issues within the poll's dynamics, which often seem to favor the "blue blood" programs of the SEC and Big Ten.Here is an analysis of how the AP Poll is perceived to neglect or undervalue the Big 12:1. The Brand Name and Preseason Anchoring EffectReliance on Reputation: The preseason AP Poll is heavily based on brand recognition and historical success. Conferences like the SEC and Big Ten have traditional powers (Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State) that consistently start in the top 10, regardless of heavy roster turnover. The New Big 12's Challenge: With the departures of traditional powerhouses like Texas and Oklahoma, the new Big 12 is fighting an uphill battle for national respect. The new members are strong programs (like BYU, Utah, Arizona State), but they often lack the same national "brand" pull with voters to crack the top-10 initially. This "anchoring" effect means Big 12 teams must work harder to climb. 2. The "Quality Loss" vs. "Cannibalization" Dynamic SEC/Big Ten Benefit: When a highly-ranked SEC or Big Ten team loses to another highly-ranked conference foe, the loss is often framed as a "quality loss." The losing team might drop a few spots, but their overall ranking remains relatively high because they lost to a "good team" in a "tough conference."Big 12 Penalty: The Big 12 is often characterized by extreme parity and "cannibalization," where nearly any team can beat another on a given Saturday. While this makes for great football, AP voters often punish Big 12 teams more severely for losses, causing them to drop out of the poll entirely, or severely reduce the ranking of the team that beat them. This cycle devalues the conference's wins and perceived overall strength. 3. Lower Ceiling in the Polls Depth vs. Top-Heavy: In recent polls, the Big 12 often has a good number of teams ranked (or just outside the Top 25), showing its deep competition. However, they frequently lack representation in the elite top-5 or top-10 tier compared to the SEC and Big Ten. Narrative of the "Fourth Best Conference": The AP poll's initial rankings and subsequent movements often reflect a national media narrative that places the Big 12 as the third or fourth-best conference. This lower initial ranking means Big 12 teams have less margin for error; one loss can knock them out of the poll entirely, whereas an SEC team can sustain a loss and still be ranked due to their starting position. In summary, the perception of Big 12 neglect is less about a lack of competitive teams and more about how the AP Poll's traditional voting habits—driven by brand, history, and the valuation of "quality losses"—disadvantage a conference built on competitive balance and new memberships. For the Big 12, an undefeated season often yields a lower ranking than a comparable record in the SEC or Big Ten.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1383BIG 12 POWER RANKINGS: BYU Climbs, Utah Soars, Texas Tech Holds, Iowa State Elite, West Virginia Meh

The Big 12 proved its status as one of college football's most competitive and volatile leagues this weekend, featuring a slate packed with razor-thin margins, major comebacks, and immediate shake-ups to the conference hierarchy. The most intense competition came in the two one-score thrillers that defined the Saturday atmosphere. The rivalry game between No. 25 BYU and Colorado went down to the wire, with the Cougars just holding on for a 24-21 victory in a game that was close throughout, highlighting the difficulty of securing a win in the Big 12's new landscape. Even more dramatic was the finish in Lawrence, where newcomer Cincinnati secured a stunning road win against Kansas with a late touchdown drive, topping the Jayhawks 37-34.Friday night set the tone, with Arizona State mounting a massive comeback from a 17-0 deficit to edge out TCU 27-24, proving that no lead is safe in the conference. Another major test of competitiveness came from the Kansas State Wildcats, who defeated previously undefeated UCF 34-20 in a game that saw K-State pull away late, but only after a tense battle for control in the third quarter. While some games resulted in larger margins, such as No. 14 Iowa State's impressive 39-14 win over Arizona and Utah's 48-14 bounce-back against West Virginia, the overall narrative was one of parity. The close finishes and significant comebacks underscored the league's competitive balance, where every week presents a legitimate challenge, and the race for the Big 12 Championship is truly wide open. This weekend emphatically showed that in the new Big 12, every victory must be earned.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Chaos Reigns: BYU Thriller Highlights Wild Big 12 Weekend The Big 12 delivered a thrilling and unpredictable slate of games this Saturday, headlined by upsets, nail-biting finishes, and commanding performances that have dramatically reshaped the early conference standings. The weekend's drama peaked in Boulder, where the No. 25 BYU Cougars held off a late surge from Colorado to win a heart-stopping 24-21 contest. Ep 1381MIRACLE: BYU STUNS Colorado, Deion Sanders On Road, Utah Fans SILENCED, Bear Bachmeier is ELITE???

No. 25 BYU Edges Colorado 24-21 in Nail-Biting Big 12 Battle The No. 25 BYU Cougars escaped Boulder with a thrilling and hard-fought 24-21 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes in a dramatic Saturday night Big 12 contest at Folsom Field. In a game that served as a heated rematch of the previous season's Alamo Bowl, the Cougars demonstrated their resilience, overcoming an early deficit and fighting off a late Colorado surge to remain undefeated. Game Summary Colorado came out firing, leaning heavily on the explosiveness of quarterback Kaidon Salter and wide receiver Dre'lon Miller to take an early lead. Miller, lining up at the wildcat, scored one of the Buffs' initial touchdowns, helping Colorado jump out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter. However, the BYU offense, led by true freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier, found its rhythm late in the first half. Bachmeier orchestrated a crucial touchdown drive, capped by a 5-yard scoring pass to Chase Roberts just before the break, narrowing the deficit to 14-10.The second half was a back-and-forth defensive struggle that saw the lead change hands multiple times:BYU Takes the Lead: The Cougars struck first in the third quarter. Facing a 4th-and-2, Bachmeier hit Roberts again for a 4-yard touchdown pass, giving BYU its first lead of the night at 17-14.Colorado Responds: The Buffaloes quickly answered, with Salter connecting with Miller for a 19-yard touchdown pass to retake the lead, 21-17, heading into the final quarter. The Go-Ahead Score: BYU delivered the decisive blow early in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Cody Hagen took a rushing attempt 32 yards for a touchdown, putting the Cougars back on top, 24-21. Defensive Climax In the game's final minutes, the BYU defense proved to be the difference-maker. As Colorado attempted a potential game-winning or game-tying drive, linebacker Isaiah Glasker sealed the victory with a late interception of Kaidon Salter. Glasker, who was the Defensive MVP of the teams' previous bowl matchup, cemented the win by ensuring the Buffaloes never got a final shot at a field goal. The hard-earned victory improves No. 25 BYU's record and provides a crucial road win as they navigate the tough waters of the Big 12 Conference. For Colorado, it was a bitter loss, highlighting their continued fight under Coach Prime but leaving them just short of a major upset.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1380WOW: TCU's Gary Patterson Drops TRUTH BOMB Over Mike Gundy Being Fired By Oklahoma State, Big 12 Tie

The firing of Mike Gundy from Oklahoma State marks the end of a remarkable, yet recently tumultuous, era. As the winningest coach in program history, his dismissal only three games into the 2025 season sent shockwaves through the college football world. The Breakdown of the Firing Timing and Immediate Cause:Gundy was officially fired on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after a disappointing 1-2 start to the 2025 season. The final straw appeared to be a stunning home loss to in-state rival Tulsa, a program Gundy had never lost to during his tenure. The loss to Tulsa immediately followed an embarrassing 69-3 blowout defeat at the hands of the Oregon Ducks. The Bigger Picture: Two Seasons of Decline: The decision was ultimately based on a downward trend that began well before the 2025 season:The 2024 Collapse: The team finished the 2024 season with a terrible 3-9 overall record, including their first winless conference record in 30 years and a season-ending 52-0 blowout loss to Colorado. The Losing Streak: When he was fired, Oklahoma State was on an 11-game losing streak against FBS opponents, which was unacceptable for a program Gundy had elevated to a national contender.Failure to Adapt to Modern CFB: Gundy had publicly struggled to fully embrace the new era of college football, especially the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) landscape and the Transfer Portal. He had made comments indicating reluctance toward aggressive NIL strategies, leading to concerns from the administration and donors about the program's competitiveness. The Legacy and The Cost:The Winningest Coach: Gundy was the quintessential Cowboy, a former OSU quarterback who led the program for over 20 seasons, accumulating 170 career wins and multiple 10-win seasons. He took the program to heights previously unseen, including a Big 12 Championship in 2011.The Buyout: Oklahoma State will pay Gundy a $15 million buyout, an amount that was reportedly restructured last offseason (it was originally much higher) in what may have been an attempt to create an "off-ramp" for his departure.Interim Coach: Offensive coordinator Doug Meacham was named the interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025 season. The dismissal signals that the administration and key financial supporters prioritized a change in direction and a renewed commitment to competing at the highest level, even if it meant moving on from the most successful coach in school history.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1377HUGE: Gary Patterson, Mack Brown Have BOLD Top 25 Takes, BYU Into Poll, Utah Drops Out, Big 12 Good?

Week 5 is a colossal proving ground for the Big 12, with a stacked slate of conference games ready to redefine the league's championship picture. The biggest game on the docket is the Friday night showcase: No. 24 TCU at Arizona State. This clash of undefeated TCU (3-0) and reigning conference champion Arizona State (3-1) is critical. TCU's high-octane offense, led by QB Josh Hoover, faces an aggressive Sun Devils defense hoping to protect their seven-game home win streak. The winner gains a major early advantage in the race for the Big 12 Championship Game. Another pivotal matchup is the battle of undefeated newcomers and veterans: Arizona at No. 14 Iowa State. Arizona (3-0) boasts a top-10 scoring defense, providing a stark challenge for the Cyclones (4-0) and veteran QB Rocco Becht. A Wildcats road upset would validate their early success, while an Iowa State victory solidifies their status as a conference frontrunner. The league will also be watching two major storylines: The Utes' Desperation: Preseason favorite Utah, reeling from a brutal loss to Texas Tech, must travel to West Virginia for a crucial contest to avoid an 0-2 start. The New Era: Baylor visits Oklahoma State for the Cowboys' first game without Mike Gundy patrolling the sidelines, following the head coach's recent departure. Finally, the late-night game No. 25 BYU at Colorado offers a thrilling rivalry with CFP implications for the undefeated Cougars. With multiple undefeated teams still standing, Week 5 is set to separate the contenders from the pretenders in the new Big 12. Ep 1379Most UNDERRATED and OVERRATED Big 12 Teams, Drake Toll On ESPN 960 with Ben Criddle

Utah was widely considered a strong favorite and a potential Big 12 title contender entering their first season in the conference, but their play—especially in conference games—has been profoundly disappointing. The core of the disappointment stems from the 2024 season's final record and poor conference standing.Losing Record and Conference Woes: Utah finished the 2024 season with a losing record of 5–7 overall and a highly disappointing 2–7 in Big 12 play. They failed to become bowl-eligible, a shocking outcome for a program that had established itself as a perennial 9+ win team and two-time Pac-12 champion. Offensive Struggles: The team's biggest issue was the offense, which was historically ineffective. Their scoring offense ranked 14th out of 16 teams in the Big 12 conference statistics. This was primarily attributed to a crippling wave of quarterback injuries throughout the season, which derailed any chance of offensive rhythm and forced them to use four different quarterbacks. Inability to Close Games: They suffered several close, winnable losses in conference play to teams like TCU, Houston, and a heartbreaking defeat to rival BYU.The Irony of the Defense: The disappointment is magnified by the fact that their defense remained elite, finishing 5th in the Big 12 in scoring defense (and 2nd overall for the entire season in the conference). The defense performed at a championship level, but the offense could not consistently hold up its end.Heading into the 2025 season, the narrative of disappointment has recently been highlighted by a stunning home loss to Texas Tech. After a strong 3-0 start, the Utes were blown out 34-10 in their first ranked conference matchup of the year, with the offense again sputtering and committing four turnovers. This performance has dropped Utah out of the AP Top 25 and reignited concerns about the program's offensive identity and ability to compete against the new Big 12's best teams. Ep 1375UPSET ALERT: BYU Plays BRUTAL ROAD GAME At Deion Sanders, Colorado, Overlooking Big 12 NIL Clash?

While BYU enters this weekend's game in Boulder as a top-25 team and a 6.5-point favorite, there are a number of factors that could lead to a Colorado upset. For the Buffaloes to pull it off, they will need to execute on a few key fronts. 1. Kaidon Salter's Continued Improvement Colorado's hopes for an upset start with quarterback Kaidon Salter. After a shaky start to the season, he was benched in Week 3, but he rebounded with his best performance of the year in a win over Wyoming. His ability to use both his arm and his legs was on full display. For Colorado to upset BYU, Salter will need to be at his best, protecting the ball and being a threat in the running game to open up the offense. 2. Take Advantage of BYU's Inexperience BYU is led by true freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier, who, while impressive in his first three starts, has yet to face a truly disruptive, blitz-heavy defense on the road in a hostile environment. Colorado's defense, led by its talented linebackers and safety Tawfiq Byard, will need to create pressure and force Bachmeier into making mistakes. If they can force turnovers and short-circuit BYU's offense, they can control the tempo of the game. 3. Establish the Run Game To control the clock and keep BYU's explosive offense off the field, Colorado will need to establish the run game. Running backs Micah Welch and Simeon Price, both with over 140 rushing yards on the season, will be crucial. BYU's defense has been stellar, but if Colorado can wear them down in the trenches, it could open up play-action passing and tire out the Cougars' defensive front in the high altitude of Boulder. 4. Special Teams and Turnovers Upset victories often hinge on the little things, and for Colorado, that means winning the turnover and special teams battle. BYU's defense has been opportunistic, forcing multiple turnovers in its last win, including a pick-six. Colorado cannot afford to give away free points or give BYU's offense a short field. If the Buffaloes can force a turnover or two and win the field position battle, they can put themselves in a position to win a low-scoring game. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Ep 1378LOL: Utah's SHOCKING Texas Tech Upset, BYU On Upset Watch, Mike Gundy FIRED at OSU | Big 12 Squad

Last week was an absolute chaotic carnival in Big 12 football, delivering a series of shocking results, major upsets, and significant shifts in the conference hierarchy. If you thought the league was wide open before, Week 4 blew the doors off the competition. Here is a breakdown of how wild the week was: 1. The Preseason Favorite CrumblesThe biggest story of the weekend was the complete dismantling of the presumed Big 12 favorite. Texas Tech Dominates Utah: The No. 17 Texas Tech Red Raiders flew into Salt Lake City and delivered a jarring 34-10 beatdown of No. 16 Utah. The Red Raiders' defense stifled the Utes' offense all game, holding them to just 10 points. The win not only marked Texas Tech as the new team to beat but also immediately put Utah at a massive disadvantage in the conference race at 0-1. 2. A Coaching Firing After a Rock-Bottom LossThe results of the weekend led to a coaching change that sent shockwaves across the country. Oklahoma State Upset by Tulsa: The Cowboys hit a new low, losing at home to in-state Group of Five rival Tulsa, 19-12. This stunning defeat—a loss to a team they were double-digit favorites against—was the final straw. Mike Gundy was fired just days later, ending the longest coaching tenure in the Big 12 and symbolizing just how quickly the landscape of the conference is changing. 4. Kansas’s Offense Continues to ShineWhile not an upset, one team definitively proved they are a legitimate contender. Kansas Rolls West Virginia: The Kansas Jayhawks dominated West Virginia, 41-10, in their conference opener. Quarterback Jalon Daniels and the Jayhawks' high-powered offense looked virtually unstoppable, signaling that Kansas is a serious threat to compete for a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. In summary, last week was marked by the biggest early-season upset of the Big 12 favorite, the ensuing firing of a legendary coach, and a dramatic, last-second win by one of the league's newest members. The results have essentially reset the league's power structure, proving that in the new 16-team Big 12, absolutely any team can win on any given Saturday.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1372Drake Toll Drops TRUTH About Texas Tech, Utah On ESPN 1660, Previews TCU, Arizona State

Saturday, September 20, was a perfect example of why the Big 12 is arguably the most competitive conference in college football. The day was filled with upsets, thrilling finishes, and major statement victories that reshaped the early-season landscape. The biggest story was Texas Tech's commanding 34-10 road win over Utah. In a matchup between two top-20 teams, the Red Raiders' defense completely shut down the physical Utah offense, validating Texas Tech as a legitimate contender. Meanwhile, the new members of the conference continued to prove their worth. In Waco, Arizona State, the defending Big 12 champion, showcased its grit with a 27-24 victory over Baylor, sealed with a last-second field goal. BYU, despite a close start, went on the road and defeated a tough East Carolina team 34-13, solidifying its strong start to the season. The day also saw surprising blowouts. Kansas dominated West Virginia, winning 41-10 in a game that was uncompetitive from the start. The Jayhawks' offense was explosive, while their defense made key plays and forced turnovers. Similarly, UCF continued its impressive start, soundly defeating North Carolina 34-9, further cementing the Big 12's strong performance against the ACC this season. Saturday's results left no doubt about the depth and parity of the Big 12. There is no clear-cut favorite, and a number of teams have emerged as legitimate threats to win the conference championship. The unpredictability of the league, where any team can win on any given Saturday, makes it one of the most exciting conferences to watch in college football. Ep 1373BREAKING: Mike Gundy FIRED By Oklahoma State, HALL OF FAME Coach NEEDED to Go, Big 12 Legend GONE!

Multiple reputable sources are reporting that Mike Gundy has been fired as the head football coach at Oklahoma State University. The news comes after the Cowboys' disappointing 1-2 start to the 2025 season, which was capped off by a loss to in-state rival Tulsa. Here is a breakdown of the situation:The Firing: According to reports from multiple outlets including Sports Illustrated and On3, Oklahoma State informed Gundy on Tuesday that he was being relieved of his duties, effective immediately. This ends a 21-season tenure where he became the winningest coach in program history with a record of 170-90.The On-Field Struggles: The decision was largely prompted by the team's poor performance over the past two seasons. The Cowboys finished the 2024 season with a 3-9 record and went winless in the Big 12, the first time that had happened in Gundy's career. The 2025 season started with more disappointment, including a 69-3 blowout loss to Oregon in Week 2 and a home loss to Tulsa this past weekend. The Financials: The firing comes despite Gundy's recently restructured contract, which he agreed to in the offseason to remain at Oklahoma State. The new deal included a buyout of $15 million if he was to be fired in the first three years, a sum the university is reportedly willing to pay to move in a new direction. The Legacy: Gundy leaves behind a complicated but highly successful legacy. He elevated the Oklahoma State program to a consistent contender, leading the Cowboys to a Big 12 title in 2011 and eight seasons with at least 10 wins. He was a transformative figure who made Oklahoma State a perennial presence in the national rankings. The Cowboys will now begin the search for their first new head coach in over two decades.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1371NEW: Is Utah Actually REALLY Bad Or Is Texas Tech Big 12's BEST Football Team Via Joey McGuire, NIL

The dominant 34-10 victory by Texas Tech over Utah on Saturday has created two competing narratives: that Utah might not be as good as its hype suggested, or that Texas Tech is an elite team. A closer look at the game's details and the teams' seasons so far provides evidence for both of these theories. Is Utah Just Bad at Football? While it might be too early to call the Utes "bad," the performance against Texas Tech certainly raised some major red flags.Offensive Struggles: Utah's offense was a major disappointment. After a strong start to the season against lesser opponents, the Utes were completely shut down by the Red Raiders' defense. They were held to just 263 total yards and turned the ball over four times. This raises questions about their offense's ability to consistently perform against a high-level defense. A "Paper Tiger": Before the Texas Tech game, Utah's most impressive win was against an anemic UCLA team that is now 0-3. It's possible that Utah's dominant early-season performances were more a reflection of their opponents' weaknesses rather than their own strength. Is Texas Tech Simply Elite? The performance by the Red Raiders, particularly on the road against a top-20 opponent, provides strong evidence that they are a legitimate elite team.A Complete Performance: Texas Tech's victory was a total team effort. The defense, which was a major concern for the Red Raiders, played a near-perfect game, shutting down Utah's offense and forcing turnovers. The offense, even with backup quarterback Will Hammond playing after an injury to Behren Morton, was still able to move the ball and score. The Turnaround is Real: Texas Tech's defensive improvement under new defensive coordinator Shiel Wood is not just a fluke. The Red Raiders' defense has been a major factor in their dominant wins this season, and their performance against Utah, an opponent known for its physical style of play, was a massive statement. The Coaching is Top Tier: Head Coach Joey McGuire has built a program that is not only talented but also resilient. The team's ability to win on the road and overcome an injury to its starting quarterback speaks volumes about the team's coaching and culture. In conclusion, while the loss certainly hurts Utah's reputation, it's more likely a testament to Texas Tech's unexpected and rapid ascent to elite status. The Red Raiders are not just a high-powered offense; they are a complete team that is a legitimate contender for the Big 12 championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1369BIG 12 POWER RANKINGS: BYU Soars, Utah Sinks, Texas Tech Leads, West Virginia Falls, TCU, UCF Rise

In a matchup between two top-20 teams, the Red Raiders' defense completely shut down the physical Utah offense, validating Texas Tech as a legitimate contender.Meanwhile, the new members of the conference continued to prove their worth. Similarly, UCF continued its impressive start, soundly defeating North Carolina 34-9, further cementing the Big 12's strong performance against the ACC this season.Saturday's results left no doubt about the depth and parity of the Big 12. There is no clear-cut favorite, and a number of teams have emerged as legitimate threats to win the conference championship. The unpredictability of the league, where any team can win on any given Saturday, makes it one of the most exciting conferences to watch in college football.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1368HUGE WEEK: Texas Tech Drills Utah, BYU Impresses, TCU Rolls, Arizona State Legit, Kansas Back, UCF?

The Big 12's 2025 college football season proved its "superconference" status with a wild Saturday filled with significant upsets, close finishes, and statement victories. It was a day that saw the league's hierarchy shaken up and its depth put on full display. The biggest shocker of the day came in Salt Lake City, where #17 Texas Tech went on the road and absolutely dominated #16 Utah, winning 34-10. The Red Raiders' defense, a major question mark coming into the season, was lights-out, shutting down a potent Utah offense. This victory not only established Texas Tech as a legitimate Big 12 contender but also delivered a major blow to Utah's playoff aspirations.Elsewhere, the new members made a huge impact. Arizona State, the defending Big 12 champion, walked into McLane Stadium and beat Baylor 27-24 with a last-second field goal, a gritty road victory that solidified their place at the top of the conference. Meanwhile, BYU went on the road to a hostile environment and proved its resilience with a 34-13 win over East Carolina, a score that was closer for a while but ended in a convincing win.In other matchups, Kansas had an explosive day, dominating West Virginia 41-10 in a game that was a surprising blowout. The Jayhawks' offense was unstoppable, while the defense made key plays. And UCF continued its strong start, beating North Carolina 34-9, a result that further highlights the ACC's struggles this season. Saturday's results cemented the Big 12's reputation as a deep, unpredictable, and highly competitive league. There are no easy games, and the conference race is wide open, with multiple teams having a legitimate shot at the conference title.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1367UPSET: Texas Tech BLOWS OUT Utah, BYU & Iowa State LOVE IT, Joey McGuire In College Football Playoff

In a stunning turn of events, the Texas Tech Red Raiders went on the road and completely dominated the Utah Utes, winning with a final score of 34-10 in a game that was far less competitive than the final score suggests. The victory was a major statement for the Red Raiders and a stunning wake-up call for a Utah team that had been heavily favored. Here's a breakdown of how Texas Tech completely dominated Utah:Defensive Masterclass: The Red Raiders' defense, which had been a major question mark coming into the season, played a near-perfect game. They completely suffocated Utah's offense, which had been one of the most explosive in the country. The Utes' offense was held to just 10 points and struggled to get anything going all game. The Red Raiders' defensive line won the battle in the trenches, forcing turnovers and putting constant pressure on Utah's quarterback, Devon Dampier. Forcing Turnovers: Texas Tech's defense was opportunistic and capitalized on Utah's mistakes. They forced multiple turnovers, including an interception from Dampier, who had not thrown a pick all season. These turnovers gave the Red Raiders' offense a short field and allowed them to put points on the board. Morton's Replacement Steps Up: The Red Raiders' offense had a major scare when starting quarterback Behren Morton was knocked out of the game with an injury. However, his backup, Will Hammond, came in and played a brilliant game. Hammond led the team on multiple scoring drives and made key plays, including a 24-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Carter Jr., which sealed the game. Disrupting the Utah Offense: Utah's offense, which had been known for its physical, run-first style, was completely neutralized by the Red Raiders' defense. The Utes' rushing attack was held to just 3.5 yards per carry, and they were unable to establish a rhythm. The lack of a running game forced Dampier to win the game with his arm, and Texas Tech's secondary was up to the challenge. The dominant victory not only improves Texas Tech's record to 4-0, but it also establishes them as a legitimate contender for the Big 12 championship and a major player in the national conversation. It was a complete performance by both the offense and the defense that proved the Red Raiders are for real.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots. Ep 1366It's Time: FIRE MIKE GUNDY, Oklahoma State Needs Change NOW, Winless in Big 12, Jeff Traylor Time?

Mike Gundy's job security at Oklahoma State is a major topic of discussion among college football insiders and fans. While Gundy is the winningest coach in program history and an institution in Stillwater, a number of factors, particularly recent on-field struggles, have put him on one of the hottest seats in the country. The primary reason for Gundy's precarious position is the team's abysmal performance in the 2024 season. The Cowboys finished with a dismal 3-9 record and went winless in the Big 12 conference, a first in Gundy's two-decade tenure. This dramatic and unexpected collapse, which followed a promising start, raised serious concerns about the program's direction. The struggles have continued into the 2025 season. A humiliating 69-3 blowout loss to Oregon in Week 2 was a major red flag that has only amplified the calls for a coaching change. The uncompetitive nature of the loss, coupled with the previous season's disaster, has led many to question Gundy's ability to adapt to the new era of college football, with its emphasis on the transfer portal and NIL.The situation has also been complicated by off-field issues. There was a reported power struggle with the administration and a tense contract negotiation during the offseason. Gundy ultimately agreed to a restructured deal that included a $1 million pay cut and a reduced buyout. While Gundy has a buyout of $15 million, which could decrease after January 1, 2026, the optics of the situation suggest that the university has an upper hand. For Gundy, this season is a crucial one. He made a dramatic overhaul of his coaching staff, but if the on-field results don't improve and the team fails to even reach a bowl game, it's very likely that his long and successful run at Oklahoma State will come to an end.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!5-Hour ENERGYEnough with boring, flavorless caffeine, it’s time to give your caffeine a flavor upgrade with 5-hour ENERGY®️ shots.
