S4 Ep 405Episode 405 - Making Time When There Is No Time

Today, we will talk about ways to make time when you have no time. Announcements: Rogue Food Conference - LFIT30 - https://roguefoodconference.com/ Did you miss the pantry management webinar and are you a member? Email feedback to [email protected] Tales from the Prepper Pantry Planning a weekend from the pantry Thoughts on the pantry as a process Edible Walks Seeking Morels Stinging nettle Wild Garlic Operation Independence Drywall is slow going - but adds $450 to the independence fund 1 debt left Main topic of the Show: Making Time When There Is No Time I called a friend. He is very busy, overwhelmingly busy. He texted back - I will be driving in ten minutes. Ten minutes later, my phone rang. We chatted for fifteen minutes, then signed off. That is probably the last time I will hear from that friend on a phone call for a month. He is that overcommitted. No more calls for a month at least. And yet he has time to spend with his family, to be alone, to get exercise and to work on hobbies. He has time to hear podcasts done by friends. He is probably listening to this one thinking, she is talking about me. Yes. I am. Meanwhile, I have another friend. Her job is very demanding. She is frustrated because she is too tired when she gets up to do a few things for herself before she leaves and so mentally taxed when she gets home that all she has energy for is to eat some takeout, pour a glass of wine, pop on a video, and sit there until she falls asleep. Weekends are a rush of laundry and errands that never seem to get caught up. She managed to go see her friends and do fun things but feels a little guilty while she does because her garden is being ignored. She is that overcommitted. She is exhausted. She is grumpy all the time. She hates her job and can't wait to move on in a few years. The funny thing about both these people is that they will hear this, they will probably know who they are, and that is a good thing. My first example in fact has more hours required of him professionally than the second example, and yet he has time to have some fun. He has time to nurture important relationships. He says no to so many things, including to things I as a close friend request of him, And he rarely complains about anything. He just does stuff. My other friend spends lots of time worried about her failings, her lack of control and her backpedalling - which is leading her more deeply into the cycle of never having any time for anything. I heard from both of these friends recently and it really got me to thinking about how we make time for things. It was a timely thing to run into because here I am, also with a very aggressive set of commitments (You'd be surprised how long it takes to produce a podcast of this nature) and a desire to build my next five years into increasing success with time to do things I love to do. Will I end up like my male friend, or my female one? I know which boat I want to be in and it seems to boil down to making time, not having it. Now I have to say that I am not looking to end up like my former friend -- he spends way too many hours working and not enough hours sleeping. But there are things I can learn from him, and from the second example about setting myself up for success -- and I hope it will set you up for success too. The important thing here is that when you work on making time for things that are important to you, is that you do it to have the kind of life you want, rather than to live up to someone else's expectations of your life. And the keyword here is expectations. We talked about boundaries last week. Setting clear boundaries with others results in clear expectations. Clear expectations reduce frustration -- at least for you. But to make time, you also need to set boundaries with yourself and make sure your expectations on yourself are clear. So if you hear yourself telling people NO to invitations because you "don;t have time" or "can't" - take a deeper look at what is going on. DO you really not have time, or do you prefer to do something else? Is it can't or won't. Even if the answer is that you are needed at work and don;t have time to go kayaking, the answer is better framed to yourself as "I refer to earn money than to go kayaking Wednesday at 10am" because by talking to yourself in this way, you are being honest about the tradeoff. I mean sure, kayaking Wednesday at 10am sounds fun, doesn't it? But if you skip work you are giving up $100 or $1000 in income to do it, when you could just shift it to Saturday at 10am and both earn some money and have some fun. This is all about perspective and as you build the habit of taking responsibility for your tradeoffs, you will find that sometimes you choose not to earn the paycheck and rather to go to that wedding, or dig in the garden. Because when you own your tradeoffs, it is easier to see the value of what you are trading off. So making time when you have no time starts with getting your perspective right, then s

S4 Ep 400Episode 400 - How the Holler Neighborhood Works

Today by listener request, I explain how the Holler Neighborhood works as a community, as well as cover some of the history of how we ended up here. Icemegeddon Update Webinar coming up March 6, 2pm CT - Pantry Management Practices with Nicole Sauce Monday, June 14, chicken processing workshop, 9am Tales from the Prepper Pantry Road food update, homegrown year Reorganized canned goods Reorganized prepper pantry Sold seed potatoes Found a stash of canned stock The final jar of 2019 green beans will be consumed this week Operation Independence Function stacking with the addition of a carport Phireon Update Main topic of the Show: How the Holler Neighborhood Works People often ask me about how to build community because they see what a great network we have in LFTN and the hear the stories of the Holler Neighbors and wish they had something like that near them. Sometimes it is hard to really say what each needs to do. This podcast has doubled in size since last year and it is on track to double again this year. That means there are a bunch of you who were not around for the dawning of the Holler neighbors. History Moved to the holler & Island Mountain Pat, learned homesteading things The farmers market years and discovery of local organize and permaculture communities The work vs homesteading choices and mistakes Finding TSP and starting to go to events, Zello The advent of the podcast - 1 year to 500 listeners A personal transition from corporate work for my own health, friends Prioritizing relationships, hosting events here, 1st workshop, TN GSD Crew Friends moving to the area -- and the development from there Lessons learned You get out what you put in Make time to go be with people in person Let the community guide itself and set expectations of solutions and positive action rather than bitch fests It will go where it goes How the neighbors work now Each has their own household, land, etc We talk monthly about what we wish to accomplish Unified by shared values and priorities and the desire to help each reach their happiness Dealing with frustrations and boundaries Communication and connection Efforts do center on the events we do here, as well as producing high quality food Money matters and strategic plan Holler Dollars - the chicken processing workshop So far we have been successful as a community but that does not mean there has not been frustration, struggles with mental health, financial durres, and arguments. The deal is that we have agreed to open lines of communication, discussion of healthy boundaries, and putting hurt feelings aside to find solutions together as a family. It also really helps that everyone is king of their own castle. I cannot imagine how it would be to have someone telling me what color I can paint my home, etc. The Holler Neighbors work because of shared values, love and good will and the most important shared value is that we buy into individual liberty and the non aggression principle -- this means that what you do, so long as it does not harm others, is none of my business. As a friend, I will tell you if I see it harming you, but at the end of the day, you can do what you want and I don't get to stop you. You do you. That is what works -- we do not have a bunch of rules. Just mutual respect and supportive friendship. And this community has been empowering to all of us in many different ways. Make it a great week! S4 Ep 394Episode 394 - Finding and Keeping Boundaries

Today, we will explore the concept of setting good boundaries and how that can set you free to thrive. Vin Armani's Class: https://www.codefromgo.com/product/mystery-novice/ Tales from the Prepper Pantry Chinese food mishmash Sous vide and defrosting meats Homemade dressing recipe: Mayo, balsamic, garlic powder, salt, olive oil, mustard, dash of honey Meal planning by jar Operation Independence Signed up for Vin's class to gain deeper knowledge of what crypto currency can do for me beyond transactional things 6 blueberry plants with a plan to plant them Main topic of the Show: Finding and Keeping Boundaries Over the weekend I took on a boundary setting project. One for myself. That's right - I am quite good at community organizing, starting new businesses, communications and marketing, teaching, and helping friends. What I am not so good at is building in time for things that are important to me. Sometimes this includes maintaining close relationships, recreation and self care, exercise, detail management. And like many of you, struggle with no - yet no is the key to setting and maintaining boundaries. Not necessarily a big ol' loud, in your face sort of no after you have let things go too far for too long - something we have all done, but just a measured no. No with no guilt. No as a matter of fact thing. And clarity - clarity of what constitutes a reasonable interaction. Over December, I found out someone in my network was very sick. It was at an awkward time in my work schedule and I agonized over how and if to offer help. I finally decided to ask if they needed help since people are in fact more important than coffee orders. Then Mama Sauce suggested a change of wording - Do you want help. Need versus want. A subtle change that. But an important one. It may not have changed the answer, but it did change the intention with just one word and set a clear boundary - I was willing to offer help, but was not setting myself up beyond a friendly offer to become responsible for the other person's well-being. It was an important line to draw, not for the friend who might have wanted my help, but more for myself. It is funny how sometimes these topics pop up in our network at the same time. Right after I came home from a meeting with my mental health coach with an assignment about creating boundaries, I popped into the LFTN Mewe group and there they were, having a conversation about boundaries. Specifically boundaries with people in your life whom you do not feel you can cut ties with - and who are interacting in your life in unhealthy ways. Review the toxic person approach we discussed several years ago As I watched that conversation unfold, I thought -- let's talk about some ways that it can be tricky to set up boundaries: Realizing you need boundaries Communicating them at the right time and in the right way How boundaries make you expose your vulnerabilities Clarity and openness When boundaries are not respected (consequences) You can only control yourself Identifying who is at the core of the boundary issue Finding models for good boundary setting and why to do it Damage of exploding boundaries. (lemming game) Where to focus if you are having trouble with someone breaking boundary agreements. In the end, only you know what your boundaries need to be in your day to day life. Only you can set and defend your boundaries. Only you can define what happiness and healthiness is for you. And that is why some people have an easier time with boundaries than others. Some people really do not care if their boundaries cause temporary hurt feelings because they know that the clarity in the long run will lead to a stronger relationship if that person stays in their lives. Others agonize over the damage that having a boundary might cause never realizing that by allowing an unhealthy situation to grow, they are creating a long term relationship that perhaps should not exist. And this is why boundaries are so important. Because only you can set them, only you can defend them, and only you can only control your reaction to situations. But the cool thing is that if you control you and you do it well, that is the most powerful tool there is toward the best outcomes. Make it a great week! GUYS! S4 Ep 393Episode 393 - TOTW on Procrastination

Today we have a Thought of the Walk on procrastination. Main topic: Thought of the Walk on Procrastination The universe gave me a gift this week. The gift of five days. FIVE WHOLE DAYS. Yup, we were supposed to have a single digit temperature night this coming Saturday and while we are prepared for the cold, nights like that in Tennessee are quite unusual and I like to do an extra round of set up. Might drain the water from the house. Need to make sure we have enough wood for the rocket mass heater. Might also use electrical supplemental heat in the house. Quite unusual. The holler neighbors sat and made a list. Then we did not get started right away because ---- overwhelmed. Then we did get started and everyone was a little tense. Then, as our favorite local weather commentator, Spikey Mikey says: Butterflies farted. That is the term he uses when something happens and the weather pattern shifts to the north or south of use and causes change. The cold slap in the face moved out about five days. We sighed in relief. We now have plenty of time to be ready, to update the pump house pipes, to get wood ready for everyone, to locate, clean and set up the extra electric heaters, to make sure the animals have lots of dry, warm bedding. And the list kept growing. And growing. And things we thought would take a little time took lots of time. And we come to Friday. The weekend is upon us. It would be so easy to just do weekend things. Catch up on housework. More work on my taxes. Put off getting ready for the cold, getting ready for the new membership portal launch, put off the crisis cold to do list. But that would be the wrong move, wouldn't it? Procrastination is nothing other than instant gratification. We find something to do that gives us the feeling of happiness, or accomplishment, that is not really the priority because we are looking at an overwhelming and difficult things we must do and it is so much nicer to have that feeling than to face the overwhelming task. My laundry is folder oh so nicely and put away when I am faced with a really tight deadline and a really hard task. And the food I cook - stellar all from scratch. And sometimes this causes me to miss deadlines which is much more damaging to my long term goals and psyche than just diggin in and doing the hard work. And that is the thing: If we all just learn to do our homework on a regular basis, we can get so much further in our respective journeys than if we cave in and satisfy the siren's call of prorastination. Jack Spirko reminded me of an old article that I read either by or about Zig Ziglar's methods about planning your time as if you are preparing to go on a vacation at work. (Tell the story) Turns out that he is right - if you approach the end of your week as if you are going to be gone for the next week or so, you find that you quickly identify the truly important things and do them and it cuts all the procrastination things that get in the way. So back to procrastination - are you falling into that trap? How is your tax preparation going? Have you taken the first step toward starting you new side hustle or growing the one you have? Are your kids in the back seat this weekend when they should be part of your focus? Are you, as I am, staring at a very unorganized junk drawer instead of sending invoices to clients? And if so - which of these things are procrastination and which are your priority. Might be something to think about tonight after dinner, as you flow into your weekend. Maybe put thoughts or talk about things that are making you feel overwhelmed? Then ask yourself how you can eliminate the negative impact from your life by making positive steps toward handling them? What really got me to thinking about this today are some drains and the impending cold. We have been fighting with a pretty nasty drain installation project for months and today it is beautiful. Assuming that the drains would be all laid out, I decided to take a break from shipping coffee to order a skid steer for the weekend to cover in all the ditches. The homesteading benefit of this is immense - we can move firewood with it, we can smooth places out, we can scrape sod on that new garden space. So I ordered it. Come to find out, the ditches are still not right. Two days of hand digging are already invested in it and let me tell you, that kind of work is back breaking stuff. So I paused for a moment, despite wanting to get this podcast out, despite needing to start the dishwasher and finish mailing the coffee and thought about the big picture. I consulted with all involved and thought, if we don't address this now, we will procrastinate the hell out of the project until two or three more weeks from now, we will feel overwhelmed about not making progress and all the other important things that need to happen in spring will be delayed. And while I did have an important schedule of achievements that need to happen today, including if the coffee is not out when the mailm

S4 Ep 391Episode 391 - Reflection on Month 1 Balance

Today, we discuss how the first month of a year focused on balance went and lessons learned to roll forward into my life. Event Highlights Rogue Food Conference, June 5 Phireon Launch in Florida - join their network for more information Tales from the Prepper Pantry Increase on preparing Holler Neighbor Meals with Holler Stores "Fast Food" 1st lettuce harvest Shelving Dreams Operation Independence Shifting from month in review to month in advance 3 event fridges for $300 Rental Challenges Main topic of the Show: Balance It seemed like the perfect word going into 2021. After a year of growth through a very challenging environment, balance is the obvious next step. Do I want a life where I work all the time and make no time for the other things I enjoy? What about my health and nutrition? What about creating a beautiful place to live? What about my friends and relationships? Yes. Balance. I started January full of starry-eyed hope and set out a plan where I journal at the end of each day, set the plan for the next day. My aim has been to work very hard on certain days of the week, leave other days open, and almost never do "business" work on the weekends. A good walk of my dogs takes about an hour. There are 24 hours in a day. Therefore I should be able to walk my dogs just about every day and both they and I will be happier and more productive. To support this, I made a few changes: I hired in someone to clean my house every other week, as well as added someone to help with coffee orders once a weeek (goal, simplification) I looked over all my processes with an eye toward automation I looked for things that take lots of time and don't move me forward My morning routine got a face lift too Reading time for learning Tidying time Then start the day's activities which were written up the night before But I got most of my stuff done in January - those things important to me: Regular podcasts Participating in the Greater Reset Successful LFTN Spring Workshop Launch Year over Year growth of Holler Roast Coffee Lots of debt paid off The roasting camper sold 6 months of tax data prepared for the CPA A successful regional freedom cell event Personal documentation developed A second old vehicle obtained as backup for my primary old vehicle 7 lbs shed Some things I have learned about balance in the last four weeks: No. The Walk Away Method. Watching the news or dumpster fires on social media is even more important to avoid. Balance works exactly like freedom. Get your houses in order. You have to have your house, financial house, health house, work house, friendship house, mental health house, recreation house, hobby house and learning house in order to truly find balance. If you neglect any of these, they will quickly take over your life. Remember that life strategic plan I talk to you guys about all the time? I had three strategic areas of focus: 1) Debt Payoff 2) Health and recreation 3) Increase stable/local revenue To attain true balance I must address all my messy houses. This doesn't mean I have not been addressing them, but it is time to ramp it up. SO the replacement area of focus will be that All My Houses are in order so that they empower me rather than hold me back. And under that I will set 2021 achievements. One of which is the rest of my debt payoff (that needs to still happen), weight loss and fitness goals, etc. The life you want is within your grasp if you but reach out with purpose and intention. S4 Ep 384Episode 384 - TOTW on Punitive vs Restorative Justice

It's a Friday so we usually do an interview show or a thought of the walk. What is a thought of the walk -- simply a short episode where we dive into a single concept. How do I pick the topic? I go for walks with my dogs and shut off all media. While out and about, something that has been niggling on my brain often comes clear, then I share it with you. This week, I have been thinking about punitive and restorative justice and will share my thoughts on that with you later in the show. Workshop Ticket Update Social Media and the move toward more decentralization and additional platforms Mewe Group: https://mewe.com/join/lftn Telegram Group: https://t.me/LFTNGroup Odysee: https://odysee.com/$/invite/@livingfree:b Justice - the idea that we can make right the wrongs that inevitably happen in this world. Drove you car into someone's house because you fell asleep at the wheel -- well you ought to pay to fix it. Stole a chocolate egg from the store? How do you make that right? Pay for it? Justice get's harder as transgressions get bigger. Kidnapped and killed someone -- how do you ever make that right with the family? Can you be trusted to walk freely among society? If not, is the rest of your life in prison the answer, or something else. What is a proper response to kidnapping and killing someone? It turns out that justice, while a very simple concept, becomes much more complex as we dive more deeply into it. People push for justice from people who new the person who transgressed. People want their pound of flesh because they were hurt. People want their pound of flesh on behalf of someone they perceive to have been harmed who is not themselves demanding one. People want things righted from generations past. The problem? People got involved. Yet that which is complicated is usually made so because we tend to take a simple concept, in this case justice, and make it complicated in order to manipulate things into going our way even when the simple interpretation does not go as far as we would wish. By over rotating on the concept, we can manipulate others into giving us what we want. But is that truly justice? One way to think about justice and how it is wielded is to break it down into two categories: punitive and restorative. Simply put, punitive justice sets up the framework for retribution against the transgressor. Think eye for an eye. At the end of a punitive approach, the person who transgressed will be hurt so that they are also hermed as were the person or people they harmed. The death penalty for murderers is an example of punitive justice. The person killed someone or many someones and therefore they themselves must also die. The families and friends of those killed, while they may get a bit of a morale boost, receive nothing to restore the damage caused to their lives. Restorative justice on the other hand takes a different approach. It seeks to restore relationships and repair the damage caused by the transgression. This is most easily accomplished in crimes that are nonviolent but it is also possible in a murder case to come together and find a clear path toward reparations. In a murder case, it may mean that the transgressor agrees to send half their income to the family of the person they killed. This of course assumes the person does not kill again and there is no "Template" for what the right answer is to restore that kind of damage since you can never bring a person back -- at least not with our current technology. Note: I do realize that there is also a concept around rehabilitative justice, but am concentrating on the two concepts for the purposes of today's show. Part of why the action taken against Parler is so disturbing this week is the punitive nature of the action taken being far out of scale for the transgression: They allowed people to freely exchange ideas. They are having their lives destroyed for someone else's action because they did not intervene to stop it before there was even any proof that the hot air posturing was going to be acted upon. Because they did not take punitive action against people who had not really done anything wrong, they must be annihilated. It is quite dangerous to encourage this sort of action. Yet we have set up in our society the approach that it is ok to take 5 pounds of flesh in exchange for the slightest perception of a transgression. Think expelling a child for eating his poptart into a gun shape. Publishing names addresses and calling for violence against the children of politicians we don't agree with. Getting people fired from their jobs because we do not agree with their opinions.None of these actions address a core problem with an eye toward making amends or even persuading the person to change from their heart. Rather, it extends a stick or threat over their head and over the heads of all others so that they do not step out of line. A stick will work to change behavior -- but only for a time.Point: We are all tempted to demand punitive justice, b

S4 Ep 379Episode 379 - Navigating the Dim Age with Vin Armani

Vin Armani joins me for today's episode to discuss the coming dim age - and I think he is right about this. We discuss why he thinks one is coming with a particular focus on learning from past historical stories. We also talk about what it means for day to day life and, at the very end, what you should put in place to navigate this change. Because it is important to do what you can to protect both for your short term comfort and to set a foundation for your children's future. Before we do that, I wanted to give you the January updates. The Living Free in Tennessee Workshop is coming fast and we have some fantastic sessions coming your way. April 22-24 Presenters are coming from all over our community and the country. Vin Armani Bio Vin Armani is a philosopher, serial tech entrepreneur, and CryptoSavage. In addition to being an author and speaker, he has made his living as a television star, film producer, high-end male escort, software developer, art gallerist, pirate radio station operator, DJ, music producer, and motorcycle courier. Hard because I can see which story in history we are living right now. Hard because my close friends and family think that I am referring to Donald Trump when I bring it up and that Joe Biden is going to fix it. They do not realize that it doesn't matter who is in power. Hard because it feels like we have "stopped thinking" but the reality is that most people never did think. They parroted as if they are thinking. And that parroting is why it has been so easy to set up so-called experts in places of authority claiming they have THE answer releasing smart-sounding soundbites that are repeated and repeated and repeated until they sound true, feel true and are taken as facts. But as my friend Kevan likes to say Do Hard Things. So I see today's interview as a wake up call to those who have not seen what is coming. As a look at the makeup-less morning face in the mirror after a sleepless night. As that belly roll hanging out in the mirror when you are not wearing spanx. We have some time right now to consider what is happening without the pretty trappings of "for the greater good" or "doing your part". We are being gas lighted and have been for a long time. When we accepted TSA Pre as a thing, we set a foundation for segmenting the population into two groups so that one can be pitted against the other. And that is just one example of the slow and subtle march toward this dim age. A time when the negative, power hungry elite seek to control the masses through division. And yet if you look at the last time this cycle happened in history you also see bright spots and light. We have been here before and some stood up. Some stood out. Some quietly created systems and communities of support that operated outside the power structures being imposed on those around them. They set a foundation for an age of reason. And in this particular story, that is the denouement. That is how it ends - with a new and better story. So I hope you will approach this episode with an open heart and mind. And when you feel that tightening of fear that you will pause, take a deep breath, and look at the belly fat in the mirror. Wednesday's episode will be a follow up to this episode and I invite you to send me your thoughts, questions and ideas. Freedom Cell Event Song: Wolf Outtro GUYS! S4 Ep 373Episode 373: Life Plan, Set Your Accomplishments

Today, we are taking the last step in creating your life strategic plan in simple terms that everyone can understand -- especially everyone who is along for the journey. This process can be used for you the individual, you the family or community, or you the business and the key to success is to cut out all the unnecessary and extra crap and really focus down on just a few things that bring you to the place you have described that you want to be -- the life you WANT TO LIVE ON YOUR TERMS. Last go-around, you chose three areas of focus -- with those in hand, the next step is to choose an accomplishment or two in each area that you will achieve in the next 12-18 months. We will walk through this today using the Holler Neighbors as an example. Last Show is Friday, but there will be replays and the Night Before Christmas Series during my break. Tales from the Prepper Pantry Christmas Reception From The Pantry: pickled things, hard boiled eggs, cheeses and meats (I bought treats and beer) Speaking of cheese -- the giant box: thank you to Dubravko, Jenny, Dave, Karen, Shawn, Dawn, Dori, Toby, Anni, Brad, Marde and Jessica for the awesome and fantastic gift -- you will get to enjoy it too if you are at the spring Workshop because on my break, I am MAKING CHEESE!! Time to smoke the bacon Getting Lettuce set up for real over the break Operation Independence Pig fence and barn are done -- and it is time to make bacon (as I mentioned) Main topic of the Show: Set Your Accomplishments It has been a bit of work, this life plan thing. In past years, I would breeze through describing the process on a podcast and leave you to it. Many of you started then stalled. Hell, I have stalled this go around a few times myself as life got chaotic. TO be ready for FINALLY defining the short term accomplishments you will need to have in order to build the life you want to live, you should have already defined your purpose, set up where the rubber meets the road by creating a vision, and chosen three long-term areas of focus after doing a swot. If you are like me, you have a whiteboard or chalkboard with stuff written and rewritten as you refine it into what you want. Vision: The Holler community supports healing and mutual prosperity by connecting resources and knowledge of agorists and homesteaders who wish to build a peaceful, voluntary alternative to society's violent systems. Purpose: The holler provides an inviting, supportive place where aspiring agorists and homesteaders can connect, rejuvenate, share best practices, and prosper together in freedom. Areas of Focus Community: Be a strong community based on shared principles, clear and direct communication, and facilitate each member to focus where our talents and interests are best suited. Deploy and way to keep track of our traded goods, labor, value and knowledge that is so simple a 6 year old can use it so that Community members are able to spend our time where our talents are and not on tracking who owes whom what. Create dedicated times and ways to improve communication about our needs, projects, wants, brainstorming, and priorities for the community. Sustainability: Create enough ongoing, stable income and other resources so that the community can prosper. Become the model of voluntarism, shared principles, alternative means of support Paperwork Pay off debts (external and to each other) Increase animal feed from the holler Deploy a way to use the assets of the Holler Community to bring in decentralized resources - one that community members are inspired to work on. Discuss what this might be Test cases (eg chicken workshop) Honest feedback Health and Happiness: Community members make time for personal priorities, physical and mental health, and develop the skills and knowledge for supporting others in their quest for finding the life they want to live on their terms. Visit a coffee farm in central or south america Develop a holler Apothecary that replenishes from locally grown plants Game night -- or something Today's example comes from me alone - and you can do this alone, but in the case of the holler, we have more work to do as a community to really hone in on where we want to go. It is slow going because not everyone here has done this before and they need time to think, discuss and decide. Our last podcast of 2020 will be this coming friday. I want to go back to a late episode in 2019, review how things went this year, and share with you my word for 2021 -- should be a fun time. Freedom is a choice, not a right. In fact, no right is a right unless you take it. Funny when you think about it -- I was just lamenting that I simply do not understand the mentality of people who want to control other, to cause them to suffer, to have them enslaved. And yet, many people have this desire. They are quick to condemn others based on little real fact. They are willing to attack them and their families for a difference of opinion. They are willing to crash our economy and set up "w

S4 Ep 369Episode 369: Choose Three Places of Focus

Today we take the third step in developing your live strategic plan by choosing three areas of focus for you to take in order to reach your vision and purpose. Holler Neighbor Livestream Thursday at 7pm - Discussing Cooking Keto Christmas Reception tickets will be released on Saturday -- Friday to members. Sat Dec 19; 1pm - 4pm at the Holler Homestead in Lancaster, TN (Bring an appetizer to share, Plan to camp if you drink) Tales from the Prepper Pantry In never fails --- venison Canned 30 quarts of stock (Chicken and Turkey) Starting to consume the canned foods Homemade mayo season is upon us Operation Independence All KS orders that have forms filled out have shipped (Minus the custom mugs and some t shirts) Venison Bounty Main topic of the Show: Choose Three Places of Focus OLD Vision: The Holler community supports healing and mutual prosperity by tapping into and connecting the resources and knowledge of agorists and homesteaders who wish to build an alternative to the violent systems currently used to support our society. UPDATED Vision: The Holler community supports healing and mutual prosperity by connecting resources and knowledge of agorists and homesteaders who wish to build a peaceful, voluntary alternative to society's violent systems. Purpose: The holler provides an inviting, supportive place where aspiring agorists and homesteaders can connect, rejuvenate, share best practices, and prosper together in freedom. With that in mind, we need to assess what we have and where we are going and choose three places to put our focus for development or improvement. Three areas of focus where making big forward strides will steer this plan to the right place. The three things need to be the best choice for our community both from a "making progress" standpoint and from a "makes a difference" standpoint. A great way to start seeking these three places to put your effort is through the good old traditional SWOT analysis. What is a SWOT? https://www.liveplan.com/blog/what-is-a-swot-analysis-and-how-to-do-it-right-with-examples/ Questions to ask Strengths: Internally, what do we have that helps toward our vision? Weaknesses: Internally, what holds us back from the vision? Opportunities: Externally, what things outside our group can help us toward our vision? Threats: Externally, what external things could hurt us most? Make a list/brainstorm Example: Strength: Building relationships and mutual exchange Weakness: Tracking and clerical Place to focus/endstate/perpetual Community members both gain and provide value to the whole to set a peaceful foundation for healing, growth, and freedom. Deploy and way to keep track of our traded goods, labor, value and knowledge that is so simple a 6 year old can use it so that Community members are able to spend our time where our talents are and not on tracking who owes whom what. S4 Ep 368Episode 368 - Thanksgiving in the Holler

Certainly not around here. I made the choice to do a crowdfunding campaign and things got very busy around here. I have been in the roasting shak toasting beans as fast as possible to get all the crowdfunding orders sent out the door. About half have now shipped and I am taking a pause this afternoon to clean up for guests, prebake my dressing breads that are not breads, and basically get ready for a real holiday here. Yes. We are doing thanksgiving, but unlike previous years, I did not spend last weekend getting ready. But over the past year, we have grown from the Holler Homestead, Nicole Sauce cooks thanksgiving, to the Holler Community gathers for Thanksgiving. Despite the busy coffee shipping schedule with Christmas orders and the crowdfunding orders, we are taking the whole day off tomorrow to enjoy a holiday. If I am lucky, the weather will permit a hike and my neighbor will shoot a deer. (One can always hope). To keep myself from losing my mind, I decided to hold strong to the side dish approach to Thanksgiving this year: I make a turkey, dressing, and gravy. The rest of the meal arrives as side dishes made by everyone else. Here is what is on the menu and the recipes: Turkey: Brine = 1 cup salt to 1 gallon water with garlic powder Dressing = Chestnuts, bacon grease, onion, garlic, keto friendly bread (https://www.ketocopy.com/cheesy-bread), brith, sage, rosemary, salt and pepper Gravy = I mean if you can't make gravy - go listen to my gravy episode. Roasted Brussels Sprouts Turkey Day Brussel Sprouts 1 ½ lbs of brussel sprouts Bacon Bacon grease Sea Salt Black Pepper Parmesan cheese (optional) Cook bacon 6-8 strips extra crispy Eat two pieces of bacon and chop the rest Preheat oven to 400 F Blanche fresh Brussel sprouts 3-5 minutes (3 for smaller and 5 for larger) Cover a baking sheet in parchment paper Drizzle bacon grease on parchment Cut brussel sprouts in half and place cut side down on the baking sheet Drizzle more bacon grease on top and bake for 40 minutes or until they are browned Remove from oven, top with sea salt, cracked pepper and bacon To put it over the top, sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese. Keto Cheesecake w chocolate ganache (Recipes in show notes) Crust- 2 cups of almond flour 5 tbsp of melted butter 3 tbsp of monk fruit Filling- 24 oz of cream cheese (room temp) ½ cup of sour cream 3 eggs ¾ cup of monk fruit 1 tbsp of vanilla 1 tbsp of lemon zest 1 tbsp of lemon juice Preheat oven to 350 F Grease an 8 inch springform pan and line with parchment Cover the outside bottom of the pan in tinfoil (you don't want water coming in the pan) In a bowl, mix the almond flour, butter and monk fruit until it looks like breadcrumbs Press the mix into the bottom of the pan and put in the fridge to firm Make the filling Beat the cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl until smooth and fluffy Add the monk fruit and beat until smooth Add eggs one at a time making sure the mixture is smooth Add vanilla, lemon zest and lemon juice and blend Pour filling into the springform on top of the chilled base Place springform into a larger pan and fill with water up to about 2/3rds of the side of the pan (this is why the tinfoil) Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes until the cheesecake is firm to the touch Cool for a minimum of 4 hours (overnight is best) Feel free to add a topping or enjoy as is I like using 88% cacao to make a ganache BONUS- Dark chocolate ganache 1:1 ratio 8 oz of chocolate 8 oz of heavy whipping cream Finely chop 8 ounces of dark chocolate (70% or more) Place in a heatproof glass or metal bowl Using the double broiler method, add a little cream at a time while whisking the chocolate. When it's well blended and creamy smooth it's time to use it. Ganache will thicken as it cools. Cranberry Relish: 8 oz cranberry, 2 oranges, 1 cup spicy pickled relish, garlic, onions, bourbon Green Bean Casserole Mashed Potatoes Mashed Sweet Potatoes Watercress salad Even in busy times, you can find a way to enjoy your folks, get a bit of a break, and share good times. Not sure if you have insight you'd like to offer in that vein. I KNOW the standard "American dream" we were taught isn't the only way and that our world is changing so much it's becoming harder for people to achieve. Just trying to get over this mental hurdle. JEFF: I have a question.. If you moved into your parents home (or any home) that was NOT what you wanted as a "forever" home, where would you concentrate your efforts? I have chosen to concentrate on building a library, both paper and E-books, and I garden and keep chickens. I am concentrating on knowledge and skills instead of investing in infrastructure here. Mom's cancer has a 40% survival rate @ the five year mark and we are at the end of year 5 this month. Three months ago, they found a 10 mm spot on her "good" lung. She may have 1 year or 20 years. S4 Ep 264Episode 364: Develop Personal/Family Vision

Today we are going to focus on making the rubber meet the road in our life strategic plan by developing a vision statement. Sign up for this Saturday's Webinar: Canning Green Beans Holler Neighbor Livestream Up In The Air This Week Story from last week: Dr Ken Berry - https://www.youtube.com/user/KenDBerry Primer on the Proper Human Diet (Which is not carb based) Described metabolic disease >>What I realized Operation Three Sexy Bitches Main topic of the Show: Develop Personal Vision Set: The difference between vision and purpose is both simple and complex: Your purpose is your why. Your vision is your so what. And both of them have some "how" built in. This is why we so often see overlap in these statements. But your vision defines your true north. It is the one flag you can set. I am going here so that these things will happen. And your purpose comes along to add "because this is why I exist." Today we are going to focus on making the rubber meet the road in our life strategic plan. This phase will take some work as you go through it. I have found that it is much faster to come to a conclusion on vision if I have a coach poking holes in what I say. A coach asking the same questions we will ask in this podcast. And a coach willing to tell me "That is bullshit" or "I dont understand what you are trying to say." So as you embark on this, think about who you can use as a sounding board. Two weeks ago, we agreed to build our own success no matter what our environment. We talked about it the day before the election. A day before people started calling for lists of Trump Supporters so that they could be tracked down and punished for their support. A day before the nation, once again saw an election that was so close that it was impossible to know who won. We are divided despite the fact that most of us want mostly the same things in life. We just think we are different. We think that our differing opinions are vast chasms rather than slight leanings. And once we are so divided, it is easy to control us by eliciting emotional reactions. And that is ScaryAF because you and I know that most will not wake up until it is too late for them. But you and I are different. We are willing to do the work now to set ourselves up for stability and success. We are willing to ask ourselves hard questions. We are willing to set a goal post, and to walk toward it no matter what the environment. We will take the steps we need to take to make our lives as good as they can be and own that we sometimes will make mistakes and have to deal with them. And we will stop blaming things in the environment when we stumble. Because that is a waste of energy. A waste of energy that you can use to get up faster and keep moving. Two weeks ago, we ran through developing a life purpose. Did you do it? Or was it just another podcast porn episode where you wish you would someday maybe think about getting started on something for you. I know you might be tired. Hell -- I am super tired. But even though you are tired. Take an extra few minutes to go back and work on that purpose if you have not. Because purpose is your why. Why? Why are you here? Why is your family here? This was the question you answered in our last show about developing your family or personal strategic plan. Or more straightforwardly: You answered your aspirational why. Holler Homestead's Why: OLD: The holler provides an inviting, supportive place where hollerites can rejuvenate, learn, grow, and prosper as well as connect with people who are truly free. (It will be clunky, that is ok) NEW: The holler provides an inviting, supportive place where aspiring agorists and homesteaders can connect, rejuvenate, share best practices, and prosper together in freedom. Today is the day to embark on discovering your "So What" or vision and the process is much easier after you have a life purpose articulated. Basically you now know what you "do." But what does it mean that you are doing this? We broached this topic last go around by asking what has changed in the world because of your family or yourself. The best way to find your vision is to keep asking but what has changed because of our work? Do people have better access to truly healthy vegetables because our farm is a local alternative to big ag? And because of this, what is better? Are people healthier? Is my local community more stable? And as a result of that, are other families providing value to the community because they are in a better place? You see how this goes? It becomes iterative. In fact, if like me you are the journaling kind, this is a great thing to write on. Always asking your self -- but so what? How are things better? What other things are better. Do this over a period of time until you have a collection of things you have positively impacted. It can be that your kids are a benefit to society rather than a weight. It can be that people in your community can count on getting support through the loss of a loved one. It ca

S4 Ep 173REPLAY EPISODE: WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR TIME ISN'T YOURS

Happy Wednesday! Today we replay episode 173 from May of 2019. This was before "all this mess" came to land. On this episode, I talk to you about what to do when your time isn't yours. You now what I am talking about right? When you are in a job, relationship, volunteer organization or other situation where you have agreed to do a thing and it was a trap where people now depend upon you and you can't get away. This happens to all of us from time to time and navigating gracefully back to a freedom mindset is the solution to this problem.

S4 Ep 354REPLAY: TOTW ON TAX THUGGARY

Today is a TOTW day where was have a shorter episode about just one random thought I have had. And Nashville is threatening to (and probably will) retroactively enforce a 33% property tax increase on its people. I am one of those people and it made me think of taxes, thuggery and the company store. KickstartHollerRoast.com New perk: JUST A MUG for $30! Direct Download Let's talk about how we want to evolve as a society shall we? How we think things could be? I imagine a world where the "human nature" approach of bonking someone over the head with a club to steal food, their spouse or children, gold, or clothing from them is not acceptable. Where we are free trade, to give, to help, to feel, to be. What do you envision? Because right now, we still find it ok to steal food, children, money and life from people in the interest of serving the greater good. What does the greater good even mean? This definition gets so twisted. As if clubbing someone over the head is ever in service of the greater good anyway… How can it be good if the only way to get there is via pillage and thuggery? It makes me think of the Company Store approach in mining towns. Workers had to buy their housing, food, supplies and health care from the corporation they worked for. Full stop. What could possibly go wrong? Plenty. Plenty went wrong. By establishing this dependency on one source for basic needs and extending store credit from time to time, these mining operations established a legal form of slavery. The overpriced goods, underpaid employees and if you pushed back, they sent their thugs to beat you. And slavery is bad is it not? Why then is it any different to demand payment from people at the cost of their property, their personal freedom, their lives if the do not pay? Why is it ok for anyone to keep part of my labor and work? Why can they take my children if I do not pay and put them in a system with a long history of sexual and physical abuse? Why do we allow this to happen? Some people think I am crazy for thinking of taxes this way, but that is what they are. People are extorted for money in order that it can be used to pay for things like an education system that is failing our children, social services rife with abuse, medical services that can fail the individual with a one size fits none approach, and yes. The roads. They extort money for the roads. No opt out. Fines, loss of property, jail time and loss of your children if you do not pay. How is it not thuggery to get money in this way? How is it not slavery that you do not keep what you earn to spend as you will? How is it not thuggery to take my money and force me to finance your foreign wars? Your ripping apart of families through the drug war? People will answer that I signed a social contract to live in the US — I have to pay to live her. I signed no contract. People will answer that it has to be because if we did not force everyone to pay for some things, people will use drugs, die on the street, never fix the roads and children will stop learning. To which I ask – really? Is that really what will happen if we move away from a forced-taxation system? Are you sure? What if instead of fighting with me about defining taxation as thuggery, you put your creative energies toward something a bit more creative? Like ask yourself this: How can we care for people in our society without a taxation structure? How can we build and maintain roads without enslaving people? How can we do this a different way? Just because we do not do it this way right now does not mean it cannot be done and really the core issue that seems to get in the way of truly solving this question is envy and greed. Not what you may think of in this regard though. It is the greed of some who have less than they wish they had wanting to force those who have more to use it toward this end. Meaning those who wish they had more want to force those who do to spend their money in a way the person who has it may not wish to spend it. They have more so they should spend more. Really? Is that any of your damn business? You have no right to tell other people what to do with their labor, their capitol. You have no right to send armed men to their homes to arrest them just because they earn more than you and you think they need to give more than the do, do you? Well, some people think that they do have this right> the right to force people to pay, to steal from them, to harm them if they do not comply. And the tricky thing is that they frame it in humanitarian terms. But stealing from Michelle to help Amanda isn't a moral act. Helping Amanda is a moral act. And we seem to have forgotten the difference. We've talked a bunch about prioritizing the will of the masses over the rights of the individual — a practice that ends in abuse of the many individuals that make up the collective in the best of cases. Taxation is just a fancy word for piracy and thuggery. A way to make you feel good when your labor is stolen to suppo

S4 Ep 363Episode 363: TOTW on Land Ownership

Today we have a thought of the walk on land ownership. No shows next week (replays coming all focused around developing your life strategic plan) Episode 363: TOTW on Land Ownership Forget your guns, the bigger threat is that they want to take you land. Yeah. You heard me. There has been a systematic erosion of your rights to use your land to better your future for a very, very long time. Don't believe me? What happens if you do not pay your property tyth to the state? Do you get to keep your land? This morning, a visiting LFTNer told me about several properties he got for $50. Because people did not pay their taxes on it, the county was unable to auction them off, so several years later, they sell them for $50. But what about the person who lost these lands? If they foreclosed due to nonpayment of a loan, it is one thing. But if it is due to nonpayment of property taxes? Quite another. They didn't pay the masters -- game over. Or what about people who grew up on their family farm? And Dad dies? And they have to sell part of it to pay the inheritance tax? And then that land becomes a housing development? And then their taxes go up until they have to sell to a developer? And don't get me started on zoning. Zoning is the sneakiest and worst way that our land is taken from us. You THOUGHT you could do what you wanted to create value for yourself -- say by building a village of tiny homes and renting them out? Nope -- not zoned for that. Or perhaps by installing a few cabins so people can come stay and interact with your livestock and learn how a homestead operates? Not if you are zoned agricultural. Or let's say your city home burns down and you want to rebuild? Sorry. You are R2 and required to put a duplex there. Wait. What? Some people defend this because they claim it saves farmlands, keeps property values from being diminished by the choices of your neighbors, or is better for the environment. But is any of that true? Or are they are not seeing the forest for the trees? We have so many misguided people who use their feelings of guilt about being wealthy enough to have time to worry about those less fortunate to save things through voting in bullying rather than giving those they can a hand up. One of the greatest freedoms that our country gave to the most impoverished has been an opportunity to become landed. Why does becoming landed get you ahead? Because it gives you something that you can use, time and again, to generate stability and wealth that "they" cant take from you. It broke free from the systems of feudal control that would keep you from being able to move beyond serving your masters and to become the master. With your own land, you no longer require THEM to feed you if you do it right. But we've made it feudal again. We are letting our control of our lands go. And if you think about it this small chance to prosper is a really big deal. There was a time when you could not own your acre, grow your ducks and sell your eggs. It was someone else's acre, their ducks and their eggs and you mings got 1 egg from the deal -- or you might be told you can't eat them but you must care for them. And in setting this up, you would let yourself be controlled just to survive. This is why the forces that wish to control populations do their best to gain control of the lands, be it your city home, quiet quarter acre in the country, prosperous farm, or simply a mailbox and a shack. They know that a people who can take care of themselves, who have hope to build a better future for their children, who have assets to leverage are harder to control. Better is to lock us down supporting land we will never own, barely making ends meet from month to month, so that we must do what they want or face the loss of what little we have. Better to foster insecurity, debt, fear, and then turn it into hate not for those that set up the scam, but against another population with the same problems so that we will trade the potential for prosperity for a perceived security of property values, a monthly paycheck, and better environment. But it is all a fiction. The densest cities with the most draconian land use plans oriented toward smart growth that is supposed to keep us from polluting the planet are giant pollution bombs into the air, water and lands that cannot possibly absorb or process that level of destruction. The trash alone is shipped out of the area to another location, or dumped in the ocean, or who knows what. The poop is problematic. The drain off causes die offs. How is that better than allowing us to live with more space so that each reduces their impact? This could be a thought of the walk on its own really. At the end of the day, empowering personal land ownership may not be the best solution ever, but there is this: If you support land ownership for anyone who can achieve it, you support letting anyone set the foundation for a prosperous future. This is so much better than the alternative of no hope to break out. Ta

S4 Ep 362Episode 362: Move Forward Into 2021

Stop wasting time on an election and join me today on a journey. A weekly journey to create the life you want to live. Where the environment in which you find yourself is just that -- an environment, not your master -- you the slave. This will be a four part series, each Monday until we are done. Spirko's workshop next week Holler Neighbors Thursday - refining our community Tales from the Prepper Pantry Last push for winter items Better vacuum packer is on site Plucker is repaired -- announcement for those who paid for the processing workshop and did not attend Dehydrating apples Operation Independence Boar Arriving today to make bacon seeds Main topic of the Show: Move Forward Into 2021 It is with great dismay that I watch you be manipulated. Most frustrating when I see you fall prey to it. You are being played and it doesn't really matter who is doing the playing. As I drove home from a meeting on Sunday, I started thinking about the election. Tomorrow is the election. And all I know is that following the election, there is going to be a shit storm. And this causes me to worry. But you know what? I can't impact of the election. None of us can. Unless you are a voter in a state, in a district that is deciding for the whole state, and your single vote is the one that makes the difference, you've got nothing at this point. The guy that is going to be elected will be elected. He will not be the one that they want in office, furthering the long term agenda of slavery that has been in a growth phase in our lifetimes. Full Stop. But we are lucky -- lucky that we live in a world where the facade still exists. The facade that we choose how we live, that we are free. Because you know what? It is much easier to control populations through narrative than through physical force. And in this, we find the world between the walls, the grey spaces, and true freedom. Many people think of freedom as this thing that happened as a result of the revolutionary war. But it isn't that. It comes from one person. It comes from you. You who decide to live in freedom, to exist as you wish to exist, build your life how you want it to be, rather than how it is supposed to be according to someone else. Freedom is a spiritual choice, not the result of a war of liberation. The revolution is inside each one of us. And that is the enlightenment that has some so scared these days. And that is underlying this play we are seeing happen -- but aIA think that topic is one that will be covered on Unloose the Goose. What happened yesterday as I was driving is this: I realized that a bunch of people are going to waste their time fretting about who wins tomorrow, and we probably will not know, but if we do, will then start fretting about the fact that that person won. They will invest time into arguing in person, on social media, and by focusing on that will forget to focus on what really matters: building the life you want to live. Finding that space between the walls. Carving out your niche. Setting yourself up to prosper no matter what happens. So do me a favor, instead of focusing on the noise that is being created to distract you, shift focus to your highest purpose. Look at what you can do to make a positive change for yourself. Build your life's strategic plan. We've talked about this before you know. But I think it has been more as podast porn that you listen to and get inspired by -- not something that helps you take action. So today, I am asking you, begging you really, to take one step forward by doing an assessment. Include your family if you have one. And next week, we will take the second step. The desired end state is this: A shared vision for you and your family if you have one, a definition of your purpose, 3 strategies that will get you there, and tangible things to do in 2021 (even before 2021) so that you can make progress toward your vision each and every day. Guys, the #my3things stuff we do? This is what that is about. You choose up to 3 things a day that move you forward. Sometimes there is 1 3 thing. And sometimes that one thing is to do really well at your job because you need to earn stable income to get to your first goal. And sometimes doing that really well is the best place to pour your focus. We live in a world filled with distractions and this is being exacerbated as technology finds new ways to pull our attention away from things. It is so easy to find yourself in a conversation that lasts for hours while you ignore the people right in front of your face. And that conversation feels so important -- and it usually isnt. Several times this year, friends have reminded me of that. Example: the pep talk Why do a strategic plan: funnel, ruler Why now: If you can do it now while things are ramped up to a frenzy, it will stick Is it hard? Yes and no How do I start: Questions to define your purpose: (Talk about the stomps) What is your life like today? How do you wish it was different? What do you love to do? What do you hat

S4 Ep 356Episode 356: 2020 Winter is Coming

Today we have a reminder about winter. Winter is nigh. Soon the plants will go to sleep, bare root trees will beg to be planted, and the cold times will be upon us. With the cold comes a need to keep our water from freezing, our animals from taking sick, and ourselves ready to get snowed in. This looks a bit different on a homestead than in the city and we will talk through what we do at the Holler Homestead to prepare. Holler Neighbor Livestream - A Roastery Update - https://youtu.be/feyXBL1ibC4Episode 354 - replay tomorrow Tales from the Prepper Pantry Winter perspective: Auditing everything to make sure we are ready Use up vs Put Up Moved canning out of the kitchen' Drying more herbs Mushroom season Operation Independence Made it home with the roaster, saw friends Main topic of the Show: 2020 Winter is Coming Usually, we start our winter preparations in August and I do this episode on the hottest day ever. Not this year. Cold temperatures have hit us a bit sooner than normal an caught me without things in order for winter. Goal of winter preparations: Livestock taken care of Humans covered Water systems secured Preset spring growing This year, we are taking a catch up approach 10am-12pm WINTER IS COMING blocked time Heat: Firewood and fire organization, chimney sweep and stove repairs, kerosene and propane heaters checked on, finishing the rocket mass heater Livestock: Increase feed on hand, first aid audit, bedding needs, water antifreeze systems, shelter update Humans: Audit first aid, add winter preps to the pantry (like milk), winter clothing & comfort audit Food storage: move roots to the root cellar, reset kitchen to use up rather than put up Systems: prepare the gas things for overwintering, remove window AC units, take in summer water things, secure the pump house against cold, drains Gardens: reset the hydro system, drain the AP wicking beds, row cover, prepare the ground gardens for spring, plant the garlic, fall bulbs, row cover Winter Festivities: Handmake gifts, start special foods, decide what will be "held" for holiday meals. There is so much to do when winter is coming -- this is why I usually start in August. But not this year. This year, it is not to be. But despite all that, it will get done. It always does. And the time will come so fast when I am tucked in by the fire, brandy in hand, planning the spring gardens... Make it a great week! Song: Grandpa's Song by Sauce GUYS!
