"Grooming a child would be easy" — I Tried A Completely Different Way To Explain This
This episode works best on my YouTube channel, where you can watch the full talk with the visuals that support it. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/kRIYbwE04AsThis is the full recording of my talk at a conference, where I tried to explain this subject in a different way.In this presentation, I explore the sexual abuse and exploitation of children and teenagers, both in person and online, and I focus heavily on one challenge that has driven so much of my work over the last decade: how do we communicate this subject in a way that people can truly understand?Throughout the talk, I break down difficult concepts around grooming, secrecy, silence, manipulation, and disclosure. I also share parts of my own story and explain why I believe we need better conversations in schools, homes, and organisations if we are serious about prevention and early intervention. This talk includes three questions that many people will find uncomfortable, but I ask them for a reason. My goal is not to shock. My goal is to help people think more deeply, speak more openly, and feel more confident beginning conversations that too often never happen.Topics covered include:- child sexual abuse and exploitation- grooming in person and online- why children and teenagers may not speak up- the difference between pre-pubescent children and post-pubescent teenagers- how schools, parents, and professionals can create safer environments- why better communication is central to preventionPlease take care while listening. Some parts of this talk may be difficult to hear.If something in this episode stands out to you, I encourage you to use it to begin a conversation with someone else. That is one of the main aims of my work.More about the charity who held the event where this was recorded:Kaleidoscopic are a charitable organisation of survivors for survivors of domestic abuse in ALL its forms. 73-Year-Old Former Child Decoy Explains How Hunting Teams Work
In this episode, I speak with Danny, a 73-year-old who spent eight years working as an online child decoy as part of an activist team. He explains how these teams operate, how they gather evidence, how cases are passed to police, and what the process can look like from first message to court. We talk about:- how quickly adults can approach a decoy profile online- the roles inside these teams (decoying, vetting, research, tracking, meet teams)- why teams say they are not “vigilantes” and how they view their role- training standards, screening, and why not everyone is suited to the work- live-streaming stings, the criticism around it, and the arguments for “awareness”- sentencing, delays, and what can happen after evidence is submitted- the responsibility of tech companies and what meaningful change could look likeThis conversation is direct, honest, and focused on helping people understand what’s happening online and why these teams exist. If you found this useful, subscribe for more long-form conversations on safeguarding, online harm, prevention, and the realities behind the headlines.Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. What a Child Abuse Detective Learned During His Career Investigating Child Abuse
In this episode, I review an interview with a retired child abuse investigation detective who spent nine years working on some of the most difficult cases in policing.Rather than focusing on graphic detail, this conversation is about reflection — what this work does to you, what it teaches you about trauma, and how complex child abuse investigations really are. It also raises an important question: when systems fail, is it down to bad officers, or a broken system that is underfunded, overloaded, and stretched beyond its limits?I know many people have had terrible experiences with the police, and those experiences matter. This episode isn’t about dismissing harm or defending institutions. It’s about trying to understand the reality of a role that involves daily exposure to trauma, limited resources, and enormous responsibility. The aim is to encourage more informed conversations about prevention, support, and change — and to better understand what people in these roles see, feel, and carry with them long after the job ends. This episode may be of interest to parents, educators, professionals, and anyone trying to better understand safeguarding, trauma, and the challenges faced by those working in child abuse investigations. If you have thoughts on this topic, I encourage you to share them in the comments. If you have thoughts on this topic, I encourage you to share them in the comments.Below are my linksWebsite: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. Stopping People from Sexually Abusing Children — for the First Time or Again
Stopping people from abusing children requires intervention long before harm is done — and long after someone has crossed a line.In this episode, Jeremy sits down with StopSO, a UK charity specialising in therapeutic work with offenders and people at risk of offending, to explore how early intervention, behaviour change, and specialised therapy can protect children from sexual harm. This conversation looks at what actually helps people stop, why punishment alone isn’t enough, and how prevention can reduce harm for children, families, and communities.Antounette and StopSO bioAntounette is Chair of StopSO, a charity offering specialist therapy to all those who have been impacted by child sex abuse. The main focus is the work with perpetrators, those representing a risk of sexual harm and those experiencing inappropriate thoughts and feelings. This work is central to Antounette’s belief that to prevent sex abuse, we must work with those that are at risk, or who we wish would desist from this behaviour and to do so compassionately and non judgementally. Under her chairship, the Charity has highlighted its commitment to provide therapy for survivors and all familiy members affected by abuse ,developed its work with other organisations, evolved new training for therapists in this specialist field, and launched a new approach to therapeutic intervention for those displaying sexual harm who are under 18. She is usually very busy! After 32 years working in the Criminal Justice System as a Probation Officer, Antounette has a wealth of experience of ‘the system’s’ treatment of high risk offending behaviour, and the value of mainstream as well as more nuanced and pertinent approaches to the escalation of child sex abuse. Antounette has previously specialised in work with violent offenders and mental health as well as running group work programmes for the service, writing Court reports and representing the Multi Agency Gang Unit in Birmingham. She retrained as a therapist when she was in her 40’s and feels privileged to have found a second career she feels passionate about.Going forward Antounette has exciting plans to grow the work of the charity and to support this as best she can- with enthusiasm and a deeply held belief that therapy is a powerful but under supported process of change for individuals brave enough to take on the challenge of therapy.Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. How I Got 30 Kids Hooked on Safeguarding with a Clever Gaming Analogy
n this video, you’ll see the full recording of me delivering my primary school safeguarding session — designed especially for children in Years 3 and 4 (ages 7–9).I wanted to find a way to teach body safety and online safety that actually connected — not just another formal talk that goes over their heads. So, I turned safeguarding into one big game.Together, we moved through different “levels” — learning about:🎮 Rules that help us stay safe (Level 1)💛 Feelings and what they tell us (Level 2)👥 Who’s on our team (Level 3)🗣 How to use our voice when something doesn’t feel right (Level 4)The result? They laughed, they learned, and they didn’t want the session to end.Safeguarding and body safety are serious topics — but when we teach them through play, children listen. If you’d like to see exactly how this approach works in a real classroom, this full recording shows the entire session — start to finish.Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. Children and Teenagers: Sexual Behaviour — What’s Normal and What’s Not
When it comes to children and teenagers, their behaviour around bodies, boundaries, and sexuality can be complex — and often misunderstood.- What’s normal curiosity?- What’s problematic?- And where does it cross into being harmful or even violent? In this episode, I sit down with Dr Jennifer Allotey, forensic psychologist and social worker, to unpack these difficult questions. We discuss:- The Hackett Continuum: a framework used in schools and safeguarding to assess behaviour.- Why some behaviours should be seen as developmentally expected, while others require intervention.- The role of consent, power, and context in understanding young people’s actions.- The influence of the internet and technology on today’s behaviour.- How schools, parents, and communities can respond without overreacting or labelling young people unfairly. This is a vital conversation for anyone who cares about safeguarding, prevention, and helping young people navigate healthy development.Resources mentioned in the podcast are below. Why Bonnie Blue’s Barely Legal and Schoolgirl Fantasy is Everywhere — and What It Teaches Us
Bonnie Blue has built a huge following — and makes over £1 million a month — by leaning into schoolgirl and “barely legal” fantasies. But why are these themes so popular, why do they spread so easily on social media, and what does her success say about us as a society? In this episode, I explore:- How Bonnie Blue “cracked the code” of algorithms- Why outrage and support both fuel her rise- The dangers of normalising virginity and “barely legal” fantasies- What this means for young people seeing her content online- Why platforms suppress survivor stories but let this go viralThis is not about shaming anyone's decisions — it’s about asking the bigger question: what can we learn from Bonnie Blue’s rise, and what does it reveal about our culture today?Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. 1-in-6 Men Say They’re Attracted to Under-18s — Why This Matters
A new study found that 1 in 6 men admit feeling sexual attraction to children — including teenagers under the age of 18.In this episode, I break down the findings, challenge the stereotypes about who offenders are, and explore what this means for how we protect children and teens today.Too often, we imagine offenders as “creepy strangers” or people we’d spot a mile off. What I Told 9-year Old Students About Body Safety, Secrets and Trust
This was a big moment for me.It was the first time I’d ever been invited to speak to Year 5 students—children just 9 and 10 years old. Understanding how a child becomes a target | Interview with Anna Sonoda
In this episode, Jeremy speaks with Anna Sonoda, author of Duck Duck Groom, about how grooming works and how adults—not children—must be empowered to recognize and interrupt it. Drawing from her experience working with sexual offenders, Anna explains the four stages of grooming—flattery, favoritism, forbidden fruits, and fear—and emphasizes that grooming is intentional, gradual, and observable. The conversation focuses on the need for adult education, strong communication with children, and community-wide action to prevent abuse before it happens.Anna's bio.Anna Sonoda, an Emory University graduate with degrees in Anthropology and French Studies, earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Georgia in 2006 and became a licensed clinician in 2009. With experience counseling sexual offenders, working in mental health settings, and providing anger management and domestic violence treatment, she developed a deep understanding of grooming behaviors. This led her to write Duck Duck Groom: Understanding How a Child Becomes a Target (2022) and Duck Duck Groom: A Guided Journal, offering resources for prevention and survivor healing.Anna's links.Website: https://annasonoda.comBook: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B0BYK4LV4QBelow are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. I've recorded my session to teachers - please can I have your opinion on it please?
To book me for your school - https://jeremyindika.com/speaker-event/Many will disagree with me doing this. But with so many schools saying they’re worried to bring me in to speak to teachers because of what I might say or how far I might push the boundaries, I’ve decided to post a full recording online, so everyone can see exactly what I’m doing. This comes with a risk (potentially) because now schools can watch it online instead of booking me.But, everyone knows that this should be done in person because of the audience interaction and participation that I generate and I have faith that the schools see that too. Uncle Brian made me feel special at 13-years old | How the grooming process can work on teenagers
“If you liked it at the time, then you can’t grow into an adult and change your mind when you look back at it” - is what I’ve seen many sections of society say.And they’re not shy. They comment on my posts from time to time.Their view (from what I’ve seen) is that if a teenager flirts and involves themselves at the time, then they know what they’re doing and can’t label it as abusive and exploitative when they’re older. This is a massive misunderstanding and I explain why as I review Leila’s brave story in my podcast. This is very important, links below.Original video: https://youtu.be/PLARjisxolI?si=waOJAwvS1QmkbqCiPlease support us over at @somethingtosayofficial with running costs at - https://jeremyindika.com/donate/To connect with Leila and buy her book; Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/leilalala07/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/leila.ivesBook: https://amzn.eu/d/jcCEq8eSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast Hosted on Acast. How you can you ensure the safety of your child in this crazy world | Important interview
When you go to work and your child is with someone else, you cannot guarantee their safety 100% - it’s impossible. And if they’re of an age where they cannot cannot speak yet - let’s say they’re under 3 - the risk is further increased as they cannot communicate with you. So, as a parent, what can you do here?I’ve brought on expert Patricia Cardona onto my podcast to explain some of the techniques you can use to ensure that your child is not an easy target. This is important information for everyone.Patricia Cardona (Mallorca, Spain) is a warrior and survivor of both intra- and extra-familial child sexual abuse. After more than thirty years of silence, she first spoke out through her poetry at an event in Amsterdam, where audience members called her brave. Since then, she has become an expert in child sexual abuse prevention and an activist. Patricia is a member of the Brave Movement—a global, survivor-centered organization dedicated to ending childhood sexual violence. She also collaborates with RANA (Red de Ayuda a Niños Abusados) and is a certified Steward of Children through Darkness to Light.Patricia’s advocacy has taken her to Brussels, where she has addressed the European Parliament, urging the passage and strengthening of the COM (2022) 209 regulation to prevent and combat child sexual abuse and stressing the critical need for comprehensive support for survivors. She has also collaborated with Europol on the GRACE (Global Response Against Child Exploitation) project. She is the author of “Frases que nunca deberías decir frente a un abuso sexual” (Phrases You Should Never Say in the Face of Sexual Abuse), a resource aimed at helping survivors feel understood, encouraging others to break their silence, and guiding allies to create a world where no victim needs bravery to speak out.Additionally, Patricia developed the L.A.B.O.R. Method, a 5-step program designed to empower parents to prevent up to 95% of potential child sexual abuse situations.Patricia's links are below,Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_patricia_cardona/ Email: [email protected] are my linksWebsite: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. What we misunderstand about male on male sexual violence | Interview
I asked if teenagers were less likely to be sexually assaulted than children, because they’ve developed some physical strength and that makes them less of a target for an offender.(For example, a 15-year old is very different to a 9-year old)But Dr. Kennath explained that this has nothing to do with strength or physical presence. It’s about a power dynamic and if someone gets aroused, or gets a thrill out of exploiting someone more vulnerable than them, then that is what they will do - it doesn’t matter what age they are.Dr Kennath Widanaralalage is a Lecturer in Psychology at King's College London. He researches men's sexual violence and victimisation, focusing on understanding how men disclose, seek help, and engage with support services. His work also examines criminal justice processes in rape and sexual assault investigations.Dr Kennath Widanaralalage links below,Research papers 1: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ASzEyVkAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=aoResearch papers 2: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/B-Kennath-WidanaralalageKings Cross profile: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/people/kennath-widanaralalageLinkedIn: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/kennath-widanaralalage-phd-14468014aBelow are my linksWebsite: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. If you would rather watch this podcast, click here - https://youtu.be/3PqvA2JjkCoHe’s a family man with a wife and two daughters, runs a successful business and looks like a normal guy, but he’s been talking to a 14-year old online and arranged to meet her for sex in his car - but when he got there, he was caught.I’m bringing this story to you because I want those who think this would never happen to their daughter to understand that it really can - in fact, it can happen very easily.I’ve reviewed the video of the sting on my latest podcast and you should see this man’s body language when he realises he’s been caught.Below are my linksWebsite: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. Grooming a child would be easy | Have you ever thought about this before?
I’ve split the age groups into three categories, 0-5, 5-10, 10-15 and if you’re a parent, you need to be interested in this, because you cannot guarantee your child’s safety 100% as you’re not with them everywhere they go - so your next best option is to understand what they need at each age group to not be exploited for something sexual.I’ve explained everything on my latest podcast. Huw Edwards had 7-year olds on his phone and escaped jail | What is going on?
Huw Edwards had ‘Category A’ content (acts involving penetration) of a 7-year old on his phone and escaped jail. What’s going on? Did the judge and the courts actually watch the videos? Probably not. Because if they did, they would have realised that anyone who is aroused by this content and acts on it, deserves to face the full force of the law - a prison sentence, probation and strict monitoring for the rest of their life. They are a danger to children when they walk free. And isn’t children’s safety not our priority? But we have a problem here, because the prisons in this country are already full and we now know that only 2/10 people who are caught with such content go to prison - the rest walk free. And we haven’t even mentioned the fact that these images and videos are recordings of real children being molested/raped/abused/assaulted. Where are they all?Below are my linksWebsite: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaX: https://x.com/jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. A 19-year old on a 12-year old is okay? This woman thinks it is
“It sounds like more of an inappropriate holiday romance thing” were her words. I don’t know whether you know about this story, but in summary, there’s a Dutch Olympian, Steven van de Velde, who is a convicted child rapist and has been allowed to compete in the olympics - and there’s uproar about it.But this woman doesn’t see it like that and has gone onto national TV to say that the 12-year old girl met him on her own freewill, so there’s no grooming, it’s not rape and essentially, she consented to it. I don’t know whether she has a daughter herself, but I wonder if she has, whether she’d be saying the same if it happened to her? There are MANY other worrying things in this interview.Below are my links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1X: https://x.com/jeremyindikaTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. Sex Education to be banned in schools | Has the government gone mad?
Has the government gone mad? They intend to pass new guidance which includes the following,• NO MORE education on sexual harassment to be taught before ages 11 (even though these children spend their life online)• NO MORE discussion on sex before the age of 13 (even though some will have already done it and/or be watching hours of it on pornography sites)So, we’re now leaving young people to navigate these situations on their own, instead of educating and empowering them to make informed and safe decisions? What is this madness?!Links mentioned in the podcast:1. How can I get people out of their heads and into their hearts?
How can I get people out of their head and into their heart? Many are still confused at why a child wouldn’t say something at the time. Or why they never showed us any signs. I think people are forgetting what it used to be like, to be a child, and the puzzle I’m trying to solve is, how can I change that? I’m developing a few ideas and I’ve revealed them on this to see what you think. My aim is to get people saying ‘ahh now I understand it’.Below are my linksWebsite: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1Twitter: https://twitter.com/sts_official_1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. Should a therapist speak to paedophiles? | I didn't say anything about a cure
You may think I’m crazy for doing this after what happened on Instagram with this question last week, but after the comments section got heated with people attacking each other, I decided that I want to give my thoughts. Because I want everybody to remember, we are all on the same team here and to be fighting amongst ourselves is the least productive way forward. And also, nothing ever got solved without a conversation to exchange ideas first. So let’s do that. Who's protecting children when they're online | What are we going to do about this?
Can you guess what the three situations below have in common?1. On a tablet watching YouTube2. Playing the Xbox on live3. In a WhatsApp groupThe answer is…we are not there. So, if something pops up, like a message from someone suggesting something sexual, or a link that’s about something they like, but when you click, it goes to something else - maybe for something sexual - we are not there to intervene. And with thes online, being part of our culturespace being, we need to move with the times and figure out the best ways to handle this. That’s why I’ve brought Richard Pomfrett onto my podcast, who speaks to parents, teenagers and children on this topic and has valuable advice to give us.Richard Pomfrett informationSince 2013 Richard’s passion for his work as pushed him to continually evolve and shape ‘Stay Safe! The pain this mother feels must be excruciating. But to see her explain what happened so bravely, so that we can understand what to look out for in our own families is a gift, given to us by her. Do I censor myself or stick to my original plan? | Please help
I know I push the boundaries on certain conversations and I’m worried that it’s making schools stay away from me, even though they know it’s strictly storytelling when I visit them. How can we reach these men before they commit the crime? | An interesting interview
Before anyone says anything about guns, this discussion is about getting to these men before they commit any crime. Shooting them can only happen once the crime has been committed and by then we’re too late. I’ve interviewed an organisation on my podcast who work on the internet to encourage these men to come forward to work with them and I think we can all agree, if one child is saved using their methods then that is job done. They are seeing great results.Christoffer Rahm’s Research Group is at the forefront of efforts to prevent violence, with a specific focus on addressing sexual violence against children. Specializing in clinical research, the group is dedicated to improving our understanding of pedophilia and developing evidence-based treatments. Their research seeks to establish effective, safe, tolerable, and scalable interventions both online and offline for individuals at risk of committing child sexual abuse.Prevent It: https://www.iterapi.se/sites/preventit/Project Bridge: https://www.iterapi.se/sites/bridge/My links Website: https://jeremyindika.comPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say: https://somethingtosayofficial.comTo supportMerchandise: https://somethingtosayofficial.comPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/SomethingtoSayDonate: https://jeremyindika.com/donate/Social mediaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyindika/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyindika1Twitter: https://twitter.com/jeremyindikaTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jeremyindikaLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremy-indika-31673573/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JeremyIndikaPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcastSomething to Say linksInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somethingtosayofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/somethingtosayofficial1LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/something-to-say1Twitter: https://twitter.com/sts_official_1TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@somethingtosayofficialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SomethingtoSayofficialPodcast: https://shows.acast.com/the-something-to-say-podcast-1 Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 26Surviving sexual abuse from own brothers | An inspirational story for not letting life pull you down
INSPIRATION!!! I know my podcasts are usually tough to get through, but this one’s different. Marisol speaks about how she will no longer be held hostage to the sexual abuse from her brothers and she will now let go of the family that told her to keep it quiet. She is a source of inspiration and I feel honoured to review her story on my latest podcast. If you would like to watch this on YouTube - https://youtu.be/36XJ8akXdFM?si=xhzUH8tMI_JTjdp5Please support Soft White Underbelly YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/@SoftWhiteUnderbelly. Ep 24REACTION: Has teen porn taken it too far?
Girls are making a lot of money starring in scenarios where they behave underage (speaking with high pitched voices, in colourful bedrooms, whilst holding teddy bears and having sex). There are no laws against this, so no one is breaking any rules. The girls are over 18 and the directors say, the younger they can make them look, the better, because the men love it and the views are going through the roof, which means everyone’s making a lot of money and no one’s getting hurt, so what’s the problem? Ep 23INTERVIEW: Siblings inappropriately touching each other
I know this is something that we never want to think about. But with children being naturally curious, and learning behaviours from what they are see on TV and online, they do things that they don't fully understand - this is more common than you think. I've interviewed Dr. Sophie King-Hill onto this podcast, who's a leading researcher on this topic to help us understand more. Sophie's bioSophie is an Associate Professor in the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham. She specialises in sexual behaviours and first point assessment in children and young people, sexual health, controversial issues and teenage parents. Ep 22DISCUSSION: My fight against the sexual abuse of children
If I can turn this subject into something that people become interested in, rather than it being so uncomfortable that they turn away, we can make one massive step towards prevention as we get people talking/raising the awareness.
