A 19-year old on a 12-year old is okay? This woman thinks it is

“It sounds like more of an inappropriate holiday romance thing” were her words.

I don’t know whether you know about this story, but in summary, there’s a Dutch Olympian, Steven van de Velde, who is a convicted child rapist and has been allowed to compete in the olympics - and there’s uproar about it.

But this woman doesn’t see it like that and has gone onto national TV to say that the 12-year old girl met him on her own freewill, so there’s no grooming, it’s not rape and essentially, she consented to it.

I don’t know whether she has a daughter herself, but I wonder if she has, whether she’d be saying the same if it happened to her?
