In Spirit & Truth

Today, Pastor JD reminds us how spectacular God’s glory is. This glory is not to be trifled with by mortals – if we try to take glory for what only God has done, there will be consequences. God takes this very seriously, and all the glory belongs to Him alone. Our flesh will never glory in the presence of Christ.

It’s tempting to imagine Jesus as harsh towards His disciples. But, as Pastor JD shows us today, that’s not the picture given to us in the Bible. In fact, prophecies in the Old Testament point to a shockingly gentle Savior. And the Gospels show us a Christ who was so compassionate that children flocked to Him.

In Lukes's gospel, Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His day, for not recognizing signs of the times, in which they lived. In today's Prophecy Update, Pastor JD points out that the signs of the times in which we live are nearly impossible to mistake. Not only are they clear, but they're also becoming increasingly more frequent.

Do you know a deep sleeper? Are you one yourself? You know, your head hits the pillow, the REM sleep kicks in and you're snoring away. You're dead to the world, completely oblivious to anything around you. In today's Prophecy update, Pastor JD warns us of the danger, of being in a spiritual state, of “deep sleep.”

Whatever you might think about being “woke”, the truth is, that the bible clearly teaches us as believers in Christ, that we should be awake. Pastor JD helps us to see in Today's Prophecy update, that God's word not only helps us to live for today but to prepare for tomorrow. Are you awake, and watching for Jesus' soon return?

We’ll get confused in our lives pretty often, I know that I do. But in today’s message, Pastor JD reminds us that confusion doesn’t come from God but from the enemy. If you ever find yourself all mixed up and confused, don’t blame God! God’s will is perfect and clear. The one who makes it confusing is Satan.

Sometimes, we let our worldly concerns take our attention away from God’s strength. But, in today’s message, Pastor JD challenges us to remember that comparing God to our little problems is almost insulting! No problem is too big or too little for God, so why should we wait to ask him for his guidance?

Have you ever thought that one of your struggles was too “little” to matter to God? In today’s message, Pastor JD reminds us that God doesn’t tire, and doesn’t faint. So why then would such a small problem ever be too little for him? God can handle everything you throw at him, don’t ever let yourself think otherwise!

Is it ever hard for you to read through the prophecies in the old testament and struggle to understand why God would plan to have all the struggles and difficulties in store for those on this planet? Today, Pastor JD reminds us that these are to point us to God's glory, and ultimately, we face these times for our good.

The prophecies made thousands of years ago seem so distant and almost not able to be applied today. But that couldn't be further from the truth. The prophesies Pastor JD walks us through today so very clearly point us to a carefully laid out plan that God has made for this planet and all who are here.

Do you live as if you're in the last days on earth? It may not always be obvious, but the signs are all around us. Today, in his update, Pastor JD points us to many scriptures that clearly point us to the plans that God has for the earth as He prepares for His kingdom to become a reality for us. Stay alert, and stay close to God!

Sometimes the problems in our lives can distract us from God. But in today’s message, Pastor JD explains that doing so is the same as equating our problems to God Himself! And we all know that God is bigger than our worldly problems. So then why should ever we let our problems outweigh God’s own strength?

It’s not uncommon for us to ask for God’s help with the struggles of our lives. But, have you ever thought about asking God for help with the things He prepared for you? In today’s message, Pastor JD reminds us of the importance of doing so! God promises challenges in our lives, so why not be prepared for them?

In today’s message, Pastor JD shares that we’re often the most vulnerable after those mountaintop experiences with the Lord. You get so excited about what God just did that you forget to keep your guard up. He shares that Satan takes advantage of your distraction and tries to make you stumble and fall.

While many of us are far too busy to be paying attention to every single detail of global events, we would do well to put in at least a little effort. As Pastor JD explains in his message today, the dense cluster of recent global events should be enough to sound the alarm for what The Bible describes as “watchers on the wall.”

Ever since the penning of the Book of Revelation, there have been countless speculations as to what the contents of the book truly mean. Perhaps more common of these is the vision of the statue, whose feet are a mixture of iron and clay. Be sure to stay tuned as Pastor JD will discuss this very passage of Scripture in light of today's events.

One might ask, just how exactly should we be encouraged by the growing severity of trials and tribulations as believers and followers of Christ. Well, as Pastor JD will discuss in his prophecy update today, it's by none other than the signs of these tribulations that we can look to the promise of our redemption from our Lord.

It can be easy to get so used to the blessings that God has given you that you forget that they were from the Lord…That they were His gift and provision for you. That’s the trap that King Hezekiah falls into in today’s passage. Pastor JD encourages you to stay humble and grateful, remembering that all you have is a gift from the Lord.

In the story of the tortoise and the hare, the hare’s confidence was his downfall. He was so sure of his ability to beat the tortoise that he lets his guard down, falls asleep, and loses the race. Well, today, Pastor JD says the same thing happened to King Hezekiah. His pride and lack of vigilance led him to make some poor decisions.

Your prayers matter. That’s what Pastor JD shares in today’s message. King Hezekiah doesn’t know what to do about the Assyrian army that’s coming up against them. So he runs to the Lord and he prays. You’ll see that it was because of his prayers that the Lord responded. God could answer because Hezekiah asked.

Things can sometimes feel helpless and dire in the world right now. But, as Pastor JD teaches today, believer, don’t despair. All that’s happening is pointing to the last days. Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled and world events indicate it could be any day that Jesus could return. Be ready and watchful and full of hope.

Sometimes, when you look at unbelievers in the world around you, they all seem to prosper, while you and other believers in Christ are suffering. And while it doesn’t seem fair, Pastor JD teaches today, that this is as good as it gets for the unbelievers. You, on the other hand, will experience God for all eternity in Heaven. Rejoice in that.

God promises that those who believe in Christ, though they may suffer in this world, will be kept and guarded by God until the end. And as Pastor JD teaches today, the persecutions and trials that believers go through are increasing in these last days, they will be brought through by God. It’s only a little while compared to eternity.

Today, Pastor JD encourages you to follow King Hezekiah’s example. When the circumstances of your life leave you feeling scared or uncertain…run to the Lord. Go to Him and ask Him to show you the way forward. As you pray, He’ll remind you of His character and promises and He’ll show you what to do next.

Today, Pastor JD looks at how the Assyrian king tried to stir up fear in the Israelites so they would surrender. He points out that Satan does this same thing to you. He’s trying his best to stir up fear so that he can defeat you. Pastor JD will walk you through the Israelite’s response and see how you can apply that to your life.
