Ep 7439. Get Better Every Day and Build A Team Worth Playing For with Chris Gronkowski
Today I am joined by the amazing Chris Gronkowski. Chris is the middle of the 5 Gronkowski Brothers best known for playing professional sports, as well as being the CEO of Ice Shaker, featured on ABC's Shark Tank. Chris and I talk about building your team on and off the field, the power of mentors, and how to perform under pressure. Are you ready to make your game plan? The Dynamic Team [5:30] “In football, you can have a lot of talent, but that team dynamic has to be there.” “In the business world, I tried to do everything myself, but ended up hurting the team dynamic because I wasn’t letting anyone help.” “Having a strong team is essential.” “I had developed a complex of not being able to trust anyone- I only trusted myself to lead the game. I didn’t know how to lean on other people.” “Once I started letting go of the responsibilities, everyone felt like they were a part of the team- a part of decisions with me, a part of the company with me.” The Power of Mentors [11:00] “When you first start a business, you feel like you can do it all yourself. You don’t think you need partnerships, help, or mentors. My dad tried to help me, but I didn’t listen.” “It took me about 4 years to realize how important networking and mentors were.” “Thinking that we know it all prohibits us from going to the next level because we’re not willing to learn and do things differently.” “We let our ego get the best of us, instead of being a student.” Performing Under Pressure [16:10] “In sports, if you’re thinking, you’re not playing. You need to know all the answers before the play even starts.” “When you’re pitching in business, you need to be prepared. Have answers ready for all of the hard questions.” “Of course I was nervous, but I was also super well prepared.” “Do the work to be prepared for those big moments.” Working through resistance [19:20] “There’s going to be stuff thrown at you everyday that you’re not planning for. To get things done, I put it on a calendar and that blocked off time is time that I cannot be bothered. If it’s got to be done, it will get done that day.” “I make a list every day of things that need to be done today, things that need to be done within a few days, and things that I want to do.” “Scheduling will always get the job done.” Learning Curves [24:00] “You have to be able to leave your business and things will still run smoothly.” “If you’re going to sell your business, it has to be able to run on it’s own.” “I was used to the grind, working 100 hour weeks, so stepping back was hard.” “I needed to be the coach, not the player.” “To lead is to demonstrate and go first.” “I wanted to build a culture where if one person won, we all won.” Have a game plan [37:00] “You have to have a plan in order to make a change. It’ll take you to the next level.” “You fail to plan, yo Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 3838. How to Gain Influence + Income as a Personal Brand with Rory Vaden
In today’s episode, I am joined by my amazing friend, mentor, and Co-founder of Brand Builders Group, Rory Vaden. Rory and I dive into the topic of building your personal brand and where to begin. Finding your uniqueness and your purpose has never been easier with the help of Rory and Brand Builders Group. Your Reputation [8:20] “Personal branding is not social media, it’s not being an influencer, it is the digitization of reputation.” “What do people think of when they think of you?” “Reputation precedes revenue. “ “Your results times your reach equals your reputation.’” “Personal brand strategy is the monetization of your reputation.” Find your Clear Message [14:00] “Before you have clear messaging you have to have clear positioning- you have to be clear on who you are.” “The goal is to find your uniqueness and exploit it in the service of others.” “There are two groups of people: those you are unknown and those who are known.” “The real secret is finding the one thing that you can be known for. Then you can focus your content and messaging to break through the wall and become known for one thing.” Get Clear on Your Purpose [22:30] “The first question we ask people starting with personal branding is, “In one word, what problem do you solve?” "People do the right things in the wrong order. They jump to the external before they do the internal.” “For every person, you are most powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were.” “Everything I went through in my life set me up to do what I do today.” “Look at your life right now, and think about what pain you were in( or are in) and ask, ‘how can this potentially set me up in the future as something I can use.’” Make Yourself Unique [34:00] “The uniqueness of a person is more connected to, ‘What is that thing on a Saturday afternoon that you would sit and read about for no reason?’. Those are hints to us to discover our uniqueness.“ “There’s only 5 ways to monetize a personal brand. We call these the PAIDS- Products, Ads and Affiliates, Information based products, Deals, Services.” “Just like there’s uniqueness to your positioning, there should be a uniqueness to your monetization strategy.” Get Clear on Your Purpose [42:23] “For your long term business model, look for DARES- Digital, Automated, Recurring, Evergreen, and Scalable.” “People waste too much time on trying to find the perfect business model, product to sell, platform to be on, trend to follow, technique or hack. There’s no right answer! It’s just figuring out what your answer is.” “It feels like there’s a lock we don’t have the key to. Brand Builders Group helps you to find the combination to the lock that fits you.” “If you feel a calling in your heart to share your message, we believe it’s a signal being sent out by someone who needs you. And that person needs you, more than you need them.” Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 3737. Finding the Answers Within with Amber Rae
Today, I am joined by Amber Rae, author, artist and global voice for emotional wellness and self-discovery. She turns highly relatable insights on the human experience into viral art, sold-out venues, and best-selling books. In this episode, we are putting healing into our own hands through self acceptance. We talk about how to find your purpose and why healing yourself is the most powerful thing you can do.Loving and Accepting Myself Fully [5:00] “My own mess became my message.” “The questions I had asked myself like, ‘How do I please others? How do I not rock the boat?’ needed to change. I started asking, ‘What do I really want? What do I value?’.” “The way that I process and move through my own emotions is writing about them and showing them through art. It not only helped my own healing journey, but it helped others.” “Pain became my purpose.” “Don’t go out and search for a purpose, go out and search for yourself.” Connect Your Insides to Your Outside [10:00] “Finding my purpose really started when I asked myself the right questions.” “The practice of journaling was the gateway to my truth and gaining an understanding of myself.” “I found my purpose by cultivating a relationship with my emotions- especially those difficult emotions.” “Learn how to cultivate a relationship with those emotions like sadness, anger, and anxiety, to get to know your purpose on a deeper level.” “Looking outside of ourselves is easier than having to sit with our own truth because it might be different from what we’ve been conditioned to believe is acceptable.” Heal Yourself [20:00] “The prompts in your book help people to put healing into their own hands.” “Approval comes from within. Approval doesn’t come from others, approval comes from yourself.” “Am I saying yes to something because I want others approval and love, or am I saying yes to something for self love and approval?” “Congruency means that my internal world and external world are aligned.” “Ask yourself, ‘Why am I really doing what I’m doing?’” Get Rid of the “Should”[25:00] “I became disconnected from my own work by wanting to give people what they wanted.” “I didn’t believe in what I was creating, but because I thought it was what people wanted.” “We can do things with ease- it doesn’t have to be a struggle. Take out the ‘should’.” “There are no ‘experts’- we are teachers, but we are also still students.” Listen to the Voice Inside of You [32:00] “When we give ourselves permission to sit with the answers, we live in integrity and in alignment with our truth.” “I’m so proud of myself for hearing my intuition speak and then acting on it.” “There’s no such thing as one way liberation. It’s easy to hear that, but it’s hard to live that.” “I’m not responsible for anyone else’s path, I’m just going to walk my own path.” “Courage requires fear. We can only be courageous when fear is present.” Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! He's inspired countless audiences around the world, and today we’re diving into everything from inspiration and creativity, to self expression and keeping joy.A Love for Poetry [7:45] “The truth and the power behind your self expression is inspiring.” “I had a lot of unresolved emotions that came out through rhyme and rhythm- free styling was the fastest way to connect to a moment.” “The stories that we tell ourselves and the stories we tell others become our lives.” “Expression becomes conditioned out of us- we have to unlearn the stories we were taught about play.” “Creativity is like a faucet. Sometimes it barely drips, but we have to create space to reconnect with that part of us and let it pour out.” The Relationship with Creativity [16:00] “We stop doing things we’re not good at as we get older and focus on the same routine we’re good at. Creativity is that avenue to try new things-even if you’re not good at it- and express different parts of yourself.” “I think the purpose of life is the expression of life because we’re all alive and we’re all miracles. We don’t have to do anything or be anything to have self worth.” “Language is not truth- it’s a reflection of momentary truth at best.” “The more we express ourselves the more that we can connect with others and the world.” Celebrate Self Expression [25:00] “Celebrate uniqueness, celebrate individuality.” “It’s so much easier to hate than to create. Instead of tearing something down, go create something great.” “Sometimes we make comments on content, and it’s a reflection of things that are going on within ourselves.” “Don’t let the money aspect take the joy from your work.” Keep the Joy alive![40:00] “There’s the creation and the presentation.” “When I’m creating something, I create it for myself first.” “If it’s true to you and lights you up, it will be true for others.” “Create for yourself, release it for yourself, and let it go for other people to take and enjoy.” Dive into Poetry[52:00] “I have to be seen so I can see somebody.” “We don’t need understanding, we need experience.” “We crave certainty- we’re always looking for certainty but life in its truest form isn’t certain. We need to just be present and experience it.” Connect with In-Q Social Media: @inqlife Get Your Copy of Inquire Within: https://www.amazon.com/Inquire-Within-Q/dp/0062954709 Be confident that you're gettinConnect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! I’m not trying to get health, happiness, wealth, and worthiness- I already have it. I just have to see what’s interfering and stop it.” “One of the most important things you can do is ask for help.” “Appreciation is adding value, acknowledgement is acquiring the knowledge of what you have.” “When you ask for more, you’re not taking away from the universe, you’re adding to it. Don’t be afraid to ask for more.” “Shift the paradigm from how to who. It’s not, ‘how can I get this deal’, it’s ‘who can help me to get this deal?’.” “The easiest way to get ot where you want to be, is to ask for help from somebody who is already in the position or situation you want to be in.” Biggest Lessons form 2021 [23:20] “Coherence: I really want to focus in on remembering what I want to do, and doing it.” “Ignorant humility: I don’t know what I don’t know.” “Do your best, learn lessons, and have fun.” Connect with David! https://dmeltzer.com/ Twitter, Instagram, YouTube: @davidmeltzer Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/davidmeltzer11/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidmeltzer2/ Text Community: (949) 298-2905 Want to reset? Ep 3434. How to Be Your True Self with Candace Van Dell
In today’s episode we are joined by the incredible Candance Van Dell! Candance uses her extraordinary gift of intuition and insight to assist people from all over the world in their own inner healing and awakening to their inner Truth. We cover everything from the lessons we learned from 2021 and the inner child to trauma bonds and relationships. This episode is packed full of amazing advice that you don’t want to miss.Lessons from 2021 [4:30] “I did my deepest shadow work. I worked on the parts of me that I had just put a bandaid over so that I could realign with the heart.” “You can do really hard sh*t and be okay.” “When we’re in avoidance and running from things, it feels so scary. But when we go in and face it, that fear is so much smaller than we think.” “We are so afraid that our original wound is going to be validated by external sources that we don’t realize the external sources are just mirroring what we believe.” “Owning our power and being free isn’t scary. Jump into that fear!” “I’d rather be whole me and alone, than half me.” Belonging [13:00] “The brighter the light, the darker the shadow.” “I don’t care to fit in to society, I care if I fit into my purpose.” “Co-dependency is ‘I can’t be me unless you like me’.” “Get real about how you feel so you can heal.” “We give power and authority to others, but it takes the power away from ourselves.” The Inner Child and Trauma [23:00] “I can still have love, have connection, and still see the truth for what it is.” “It’s not our fault that we’re wounded, but it’s our responsibility to heal.” “I understand that we’re both wounded- hurt people hurt people.” “If we deny the inner child the grieving, we get stuck and never heal. You need to validate your inner child for what you went through.” “If you are dissociating from the truth, how are you going to be truthful in the world?” Trauma Bonds[30:00] “We find ourselves comparing our traumas, and invalidating ourselves.” “When we are in trauma bond, we don’t know what it feels like to love contently or healthily.” “Behavior and boundaries will shift your trauma bond.” “Love yourself back to yourself.” Be the Best Version of YOU![36:00] “Who do I want to be instead of what is life directing me to. Stop the co-dependent pattern of ‘show me who I am’ instead of discovering who you are by following what you feel.” “If you want to know where to do the work in your life, go do your life! The right circumstances will come up.” “All of our judgement is the story and conditioning that’s been programmed into us.” Get in touch with Candance!Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 3333. ADHD REMEDY: Best Natural Way to Treat ADHD + Anxiety in 2022 with Brillia
In today’s episode we are diving into my story with ADHD and how I choose to naturally treat it. I am joined by Maryam Amiri of Brillia to talk about how the Brillia supplement can help you manage symptoms like hyperactivity, anxiety, impulsivity, inattention, restlessness, and irritability. Not only is Brillia something that I use everyday, but it is something I love! My Experience with ADHD [3:10] “My ADHD went undiagnosed for a really long time. I was never tested or taken to a doctor because my symptoms didn’t show up like everyone else's.” “In 2022, I am getting down to healing my physical body- and that includes my brain.” “Every time I used to get blood work, I didn’t know what they were testing for and I didn’t know what my baselines were or what was happening in my body- this includes anxiety, depression, and mood stabilization.” “As a person with ADHD, I have so many amazing ideas but I need support to help them come to fruition.” “For me, it’s not about being diagnosed. It’s about getting to know my body.” “The body is deeply wise and knows what we need, but when we numb our senses, we get off of our natural cadence and things start to break down.” “Women with ADHD blame themselves. We feel like it’s our fault for letting things fall through the cracks.” “If you’re struggling, you’re not alone!” How Brillia is Different [21:00] “If you feel the symptoms of hyperactivity, anxiety, impulsivity, inattention, restlessness, or irritability, the active ingredient in Brillia can help.” “Brillia can act as a gentle support to help you without worrying about any side effects.” "There is no cure, there is no magic pill. Making healthier lifestyle choices is a great start.” “Our goal is not for you to stay on Brillia. You can’t build a tolerance. As you learn the pillars and make new lifestyle changes, you should be able to remove medications from your life and use the knowledge you learned to help sustain the impact you’ve made.” “It’s really helped me with anxiety and overwhelm. Typically, I would avoid tasks that were overwhelming, but Brillia has helped me to beat that feeling. This has been an integral part of managing things in my life.” “The beauty of Brillia is that it is so gentle. You can try it before you go and get diagnosed.” “Brillia can be used as a supplement to a person’s normal regimen.” The Perks of Using Brillia [36:30] “Brillia is something you have to add to your regimen on the daily. If you commit to taking the 3 daily doses, after a few weeks you will notice your body responding to it.” “Using Brillia is like a comfort blanket. It gives me that extra boost of support that helps me feel confident.” “This is the year that I’m not just going to talk about it, I’m going to do something about it.” Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! It's doing it because of fear-with the fear.” “Courage is really just taking tiny steps and then screaming the rest of the way through it.” “Life's not meant to be dull.” “I surrounded myself with people who were taking risks, who were doing things. You really are.” “Never, ever underestimate the power of whatever movement practice you're choosing and just create the consistency, but focus on comparing yourself to yourself.” “That's how you create confidence. You're not comparing yourself to me. You’re comparing yourself to how far you’ve come.” “But if you can connect to yourself, you are unstoppable. You can face fears. You can be a better parent, a better partner, a better boss, a better person, because you can only give to others when you have given to yourself.” “If you are not connected to yourself, how do you connect to others?” Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 3131. The 2022 Goal Setting Guide
Happy New Year! Today we are starting off the year my favorite way- by diving into some self-reflection to set your year up for success. It’s important to take a few minutes out of 2022 to reflect on those important life events of 2021. Those pivotal moments can help shape your achievable goals for this year. Grab a pen and notepad (and our easy to use Goal Setting Guidebook), and let’s kickoff the new year.Your 2021 Reflection [1:07] “It’s so powerful to look back over past months and see those pivotal moments.” “This year, dream bigger. Break out of your limiting beliefs that have held you back.” Tips for Self-Doubt [3:45] “Make 70% of these goals achievable and believable for yourself. 30% of these goals are big dreams, things you may not know how to achieve yet.” “Step 1: Take a current life inventory. Where are you in your life, career, relationships, financial status? These are not feelings, these are facts.” “Step 2: Cultivate. Where are we heading? Where is the destination?” “Step 3: What is in the way? What may be preventing you from getting there? Shift out of ‘I can’t’ and move into becoming your own best cheerleader.’ “Step 4: Avoidance. Identify what you spend time avoiding. We spend more time avoiding pain than chasing pleasure.” “Step 5: Values Process. What would I be experiencing if I hit all of my goals? Why do you really want something? What will your goals get you?” “Step 6: Have gratitude. Like attracts like. We don’t attract what we like, we attract who and what we are. When we tap into gratitude, we raise our vibration to get into alignment with the thing we are trying to attract.” Gratitude is the quickest and most powerful way to become a magnet to the things we desire.” “Step 7: Create Actionable Steps. What are the actual steps you need to be taking? Think about the physical things you are going to do, but also the mindset change you need to do to reach your goal. Get into a community of people who share similar goals.” Power of Gratitude [24:00] “No excuses, start out the year strong, with clairy, with purpose, with drive, with intention, because where your attention goes, energy flows.” “Focus on who you are becoming this year.” Grab your copy of my FREE Goal Setting Guide Book here! https://coachable.ac-page.com/goalsetting-guidebook-freebieGuess what?! Ep 2929. [HOT TAKE] Kill Your Self Doubt Giant
I am so excited to talk with you today about a topic that not only I dealt with, but so many of my clients come to me with- Self-Doubt. I am giving you the best tips for overcoming self-doubt to develop your self confidence and self esteem. Self-doubt is one of the biggest things that holds us back from creating the life we want to live! It’s time to kill our self doubt giant for good.Where does self doubt come from? [2:02] “Self doubt comes from a story that we tell ourselves, and for many of us a story that we have been telling ourselves for years.” “A story gets planted in our mind, and we water with our attention over and over again, until it becomes this repetitive, spiraling thought that seems to control our life.” “How can I take action, despite the fact that I may not have evidence, to create a new story that I’m about to tell-the story of being good enough, being beautiful, having what it takes?” Tips for Self-Doubt [5:07] “Really get clear on what you want and who you want to be.” “We’re projecting our fear of judgment onto the world, but at the same time it’s really us who’s judging ourself.” “Check your own judgment.” “Growth happens when we get uncomfortable- recognize that the fear and judgment of what others think is likely a huge obstacle that’s in the way.” “If we can’t escape judgment, why don’t we start focusing on ways things can go right?” “Change the narrative to ‘If they can, so can I’.” “If you want results you’ve never had before, then you have to do something you’ve never done before.” Visualize It [15:40] “We don’t manifest what we think, we manifest what we feel.” “Our subconscious mind is not built to think in negatives.” “If I tell you not to think about a pink elephant, you start thinking about a pink elephant! Your subconscious doesn’t think in negatives. It hears ‘Think about a pink elephant’.” “We need to visualize where we want to go, but also realize where we are in the present.” “We steal our own joy when we fail to let our best be good enough.” Get Curious [22:45] “A big part of why we doubt ourselves is because we don’t know ourselves.” “We are so crippled by the thought of doing something wrong, that we don’t do anything.” “I was already living my worst case scenario. All of the sudden it became clear that I had nothing to lose and everything to gain.” “Let go of that self doubt, and say ‘I can do this!’” You don’t have time to waste [29:20] “We don’t have time to put our goals or our dreams off.” “We forget that life’s not certain.” “Be the person that believes in you when no one else does.” “The areas that you doubt the most, are the areas that you care about t Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 2828. The Healing Power of Hope When All Seems Lost with Chris Gordon
This is such a special episode. Today I am joined by my dad, Chris Gordon, to talk about loss, love, and finding hope when we need it most. Today’s episode gives you a look into our family and the events that led us to this point in our life. We talk about living in the now and how even when everything is stripped away, hope remains. We learn through great loss, great love, and great grief that we are never alone. You are never alone.Choose Hope [06:00] “When everything is torn away, it leaves you wasted. It leaves you where you are, you don’t know how to react, and you don’t know what to do from that point on. It’s not something anyone prepares you to deal with.” “I don’t know how this is going to turn out, but we can choose hope or we can choose despair. We have a choice.” “We need to look for the light. We need to endure." Now is your Moment [14:20] “Living in the moment is the only defense against the fear of the future. Living in the moment is all there is.” “Now is now. The past is the past. The future hasn’t come yet. After this now, is the next now.” The Spiritual Toolbox [19:10] “All you can do to change circumstances, outside of the medical professions, is to ask for your desires. Not only did we pray, but we had church families, students, and friends that did all they could do to help someone in danger- pray.” “This book is a personal journey of spirit after the worst happens- how to live, heal, and the lessons that I didn’t expect.” “My job is to discipline my freewill in order to minimize my sense of selfishness and learn to maximize my selflessness.” “Whenever I remember help coming to me, to change my circumstance, it came in a form of another person- a person actually doing something for my benefit that was not required for their betterment.” Your Energy Never Ends [33:49] “If you ask for help, and it shows up, there’s a certain way to receive it. It’s not just saying thank you, it’s receiving it inside. It’s going and doing the same for someone else and passing on that feeling.” “We fight with life- it’s violent, unfair- but we struggle to stay here. Death, itself, is peaceful.” “Being born is a holy thing. When you exit, it’s the same thing. The energy doesn’t stop, it just moves on to somewhere else. You just leave the glove the energy is in here.” Love One Another [43:00] “It is wisdom to understand that one must use one’s life to make a difference- to do good, to help those in need without hesitation or judgement. To give other people the best you have-all people, not merely some people.” “Live in purpose, with purpose growing your awareness of opportunities to love one another.” “Hope is important. It’s an attitude, a decision to hope and act out of hope.” Hope Guides [51:00] “Hope guides your actions.” “As we become more wise on how to take care of ourselves, we inevitably become more wise about how to do that for others. ‘Do unto others as you would do Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 2727. How to Live in the Present Moment with Amber Shaw
I had the opportunity to join my wonderful friend, Amber Shaw, on her podcast the Wellness Revolution to dive deep into how we can actively live in the present. It is so easy to forget to be present in our day to day lives, especially with how busy life can get. When that chitter chatter in your brain gets to be too much, we’re here to tell you it’s time to stop and take a breath. It’s time to feel whole- It’s time to be present. It’s time to say YES! [14:20] “I am where I am today because of life experiences and my amazing coaches and mentors. I said ‘yes’ to the part of me that wanted to inspire others.” “It’s time to give yourself permission to say YES.” Make Your Impact [17:15] “I’m alive because I’m meant to do something that matters in this world.” “If I were to die tomorrow would I have really made an impact? Would I be proud of the legacy I left and the things that I’ve done?” “Your intuition doesn’t live in your mind- you can’t sense that if you’re in your head all the time.” “Fear is what lives in the mind.” Breathwork is your Bridge [26:20] “Breath is what bridges the gap between the mind and the heart.” “Breathwork is a tool but it’s also that bridge to our highest self and deepest truths.” “When you learn to breathe in a certain way, you can give your brain a moment to rest.” “It reminds me that I’m way more powerful than I thought I was.” Meditation and Breath [32:07] “Breathwork is an active meditation.” “Meditation felt inaccessible! It caused me to become more self-critical. Was I doing it right?” “Breathwork is more accessible because it leads you into the deep quiet of your mind through activeness.” “The point of meditation isn’t to attach yourself to your thoughts, but for thoughts to come in and out of your mind.” Anxiety [37:11] “Instead of saying ‘I am anxious’ reframe the thought and say ‘I am experiencing feelings of anxiety’. You are not anxious, that’s not who you are.” “When you’re feeling anxious, you’re taking shallow breaths from your chest. When you take those deep breaths from your belly, it helps those feelings relax.” “Your body is so freaking intelligent-it’s always giving you signals and messages and adapting to keep you safe.” “Anxiety is thinking about the future, depression is thinking about the past. Once you realize this, it’s a big A-HA moment.” Stop making the fire bigger [46:01] “Step 1 is to become aware- catch yourself.” “Step 2 is to stop putting our focus on the things that bring you feelings of anxiety.” “Try box breathing. Set your intention for why you’re going to breathe, take a deep inhale through your nose for 6 counts, hold for 6 counts, exhale for 6 counts, a Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 2626. Quantum Healing with Scalar Light Featuring Tom Paladino
Tom Paladino joins us today to discuss how Scalar Light can heal you on a quantum level. We dive into the incredible research that Tom is working on to provide new forms of healing from just a photograph. Ready to learn about how you can use scalar energy to benefit your mind and body? Greater than Electricity [02:20] “Scalar energy is capable of so many functions! It is greater energy than electricity- it deals with the sun, moon, and stars. ” “I’m not just this body and mind- what else am I? How can I interact with the true essence of who I am?” Scalar vs. Electromagnetic [05:00] “All energy from the stars is scalar energy-it’s the first energy and the consummate energy. Electricity is just a subset.” “If you want to control your environment or nature, you need to use scalar energy. Electricity only offers an indirect control over nature.” Life Force Energies [06:30]“Scalar energy is the life force energy-also called chi or prana.”The Power of a Photo [08:45] “I receive a photograph, place it in a newly developed instrument, and can balance nutrients and chakra through the quantum field.” “Your photograph has the ability to carry your aura and your being.” Scalar Energy is your Guide [10:57] “If you compare scalar energy to a train, scalar energy is the locomotive. Everything that follows is either the box car or the caboose.” “Scalar energy serves as the instructions.” “Before we have the physical world, we need to have the intelligence to create and maintain it.” “If you can control the instructions of the universe, you can control the universe.” Access to the Energy Field [16:27] “It’s not that I access the person, I access their energy field or their aura.” “Meditation, thought, prayer is a scalar energy broadcast- consciousness.” “Thought, just like light and sound, is energy.” Scalar Light Instrument [25:12] “The healing instruments I use immediately balance the 7 chakras. Within a day or two, people feel elated, have sleep improvement, and can rid themselves of fears and phobias.” “The instrument is all-knowing. I can detect the presence of a microbe on the quantum field. After working together, I can detect the lack of microbe on the field.” You Control Your Scalar Energy [31:54] “Be positive. Your mind and your heart are scalar energy instruments.” “You have control over today and tomorrow, make it a good day and make it a good future.” Get in touch with Tom PaladinoScalarlight.comConnect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! In this powerful episode, Samantha Stelk, Women’s Self-love and Sexual Empowerment Coach, shares with us how women can reconnect to their bodies. We are getting rid of the stigma and diving into a place of love and freedom. If you’re ready to heal and feel the self-love that your body desires and deserves, this episode is for you.The Lost Connection [02:13] “I teach women how to connect to their bodies in healing ways to feel more self-love.” “Our relationship to pleasure is distorted-there’s lots of stigma around it. We need to reclaim it, knowing that it is really beautiful and holy to connect to ourselves with our sacred, sexual energy.” Feeling Unsafe in Ourselves [05:06] “We’ve learned that our bodies aren’t safe, and we disconnect from them.” “We don’t feel whole within ourselves, so we constantly reach outside ourselves for validation and to feel complete.” Come Home to Yourself [08:39] “The process of self pleasure is a way to come home to ourselves.” “I had to break the idea that sexuality was bad and it was evil to feel pleasure. Unconsciously my body was tight, constricted, and bound up.” Creating a Safe Space to Feel Loved [13:50] “It’s a life long relationship- it can go slow, there may be hiccups. Have compassion for yourself.” “Say, ‘My body is safe, my body is beautiful, I love my body’ to create that safe relationship with yourself.” “Being present can feel very scary, especially when dissociating is something that you commonly do. This is a process-comfort won’t come overnight.” Stop the Suppression [19:52] “Our sexuality is so suppressed because as women, when we are connected to our body we are powerful and beautiful.” “Cultivating our feminie energy and our essence and our ability to receive is a practice that balances us. We can disconnect to connect.” “Create an environment around intimacy. Create an environment that is conducive for opening up.” Connect to Your Femininity [24:00] “Using music can act as a way to connect with your femininity and your partner.” “Progress isn’t always reflected in our external environment, especially at the beginning. “Exploring our anatomy can be so empowering because it can allow us to step out of that place of criticism and actually recognize that your body is divine.” “Having support to talk about pleasure ends the stigma. Find a community to help you free yourself.” Don’t Miss Out On Your Connection [37:17] “This work is really about building a bridge to these parts of ourselves that have been neglected, suppressed and shamed, and bringing them into the light and building new empowering relationships.” “We have so much power and wisdom that we’re missing when we continue to just go through the motions and be on autopilot.” “Anything is possible when we’re connected to ourselves.” Don’t Miss Out On Your Connection [46:00] Lovelegacycoaching.com IG: @beholdt Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Taking yourself away from the body and the situation.”· “The second one is the merging pattern, or moving towards the other person. This is what an infant will do naturally.”· “The third is the enduring pattern- pulling energy in, into the ground beneath them, and hide. They let it all blow over.”· “The fourth is the aggressive pattern- pulling energy up and out to try and influence others. The aggressive pattern is about looking strong and threatening, coercing people into doing what they want to feel safe.”· “The fifth is rigid pattern. It’s like living a performance. You learn what is expected and act that way to keep love and approval.”Needs of the Patterns [43:58]· “The rigid pattern needs others to check in with them. Ep 2323. The 5 Personality Patterns with Steven Kessler
Steven Kessler, psychotherapist and bestselling author of The 5 Personality Patterns, joins me on today’s episode to talk about the 5 personality patterns. We dive in to the importance of these patterns and how they can help you build a more sustainable bond. He is also providing a FREE guide to help you navigate understanding people which you can download HERE! If you’re ready to figure out your personality patterns and improve your relationship, this is an episode you don’t want to miss.Importance of Personality Patterns in Relationships [3:00] “It’s important to learn about the different patterns your partners do. Why do you do what you do? Why does your partner do what they do? The way to stop fighting is to figure out how to make each other feel safe.” “If you’re able to understand what others need to feel safer, it’s an easier choice for you to give them what they need.” The Leaving Pattern [10:47] “A person in this pattern is easily overwhelmed by (big) energies coming into their space and will get out. They will physically leave or leave their body.” “Understand what patterns YOU do, so you can interact with others in a skillful way.” Neutrality [22:03] “It helps us to have more empathy and compassion when we realize everyone’s not seeing the world through the same lens.” “When we’re caught in a pattern, we only see a slice of the picture. It’s not the whole picture but we think it is.” Are You Looking At The Same Picture? [27:57] “A person in rigid pattern tends to experience the world more through words than direct perception.” “For some patterns, the energy may be the most important part of the interaction. For other patterns, the words may be the most important.” Merging Patterns [34:40] “Merging pattern focus is on the other person and the heart-to-heart connection, creating a sense of safety. If that connection is broken, it could make them feel abandoned and let down.” “The simple merging pattern is the child's role of needing things and help. The compensated merging is more like the mother role of fixing things while ignoring their own needs.” The Difference in Patterns [56:25] “We draw in partners that compliment what makes us feel safe, but there can be other patterns underneath that can still clash with your pattern.” “If people can find someone with at least one pattern in common, it gives us mutual ground.” Aggressive Pattern [1:06:54] “They believe that it’s all on them, it’s a matter of will, and no one is coming to help.” “They are living in a constant state of fight or flight, with no way to come down from that and trust.” Is There Hope for Relationships? [1:12:01]“Take personal responsibility and accountability for your patterns and the ways you fall into them, learn that about your partner, and actively pursue alternative responses to how you traditionally react.”Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 2222. CBT Made Easy with Dr. Abby Lev
Dr. Avigail Lev and I take on the topic of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) this week. We discuss what it is and how it can help us on our path to a healthy and fulfilling life. We also dive into how our values and schema can be influencing our everyday choices. Those painful moments you face are about to become your map to creating a sustainable life. Make sure to have a notebook and pencil ready, because this is some information you’re going to want.Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Q+A [2:00] “I think we can all connect with the experience of knowing that something’s not working for us but continuing to do the behavior and not being able to get out of that habit.” “The modern cognitive behavioral therapy doesn't aim to change our thoughts and feelings, but change our relationship with thoughts and feelings so they have less of an influence on our actions.” “Awareness isn’t enough, it’s the first step. Then acceptance. Then action.” What is Schema? [6:55] “Schema are core beliefs that we have about ourselves and others in relationships, like abandonment, entitlement, social alienation, failure.” “When we develop beliefs about ourselves, it brings up automatic thoughts, feelings, sensations, and then behaviors that we’ve learned to get out of pain.” “The comfort of being right feels more safe than stepping into the thing we want most, which might require vulnerability.” Your Core Beliefs [11:40]“Knowing what those core beliefs are requires us to take responsibility for them so we can transform and evolve.”Reactivity In Our Lives[15:10] “We have to accept all that is out of our control. We accept our thoughts, feelings sensations, memories, and all of our internal experiences.. We learn how to build a relationship of self acceptance and mindfulness, and label the emotions.” “Our minds are like commercials or sales representatives. As soon as we get triggered, they start convincing us to do old behaviors.” “Your values are like a compass to help guide you where you want to go.” Survival Strategies [25:19] “If you have a self-sacrifice schema, you avoid feelings of guilt or being selfish-people pleasing helps to avoid that pain. If you have a subjugation schema, it’s fear driven. You’re afraid of abandonment or being punished for putting your needs first.” “These strategies are survival strategies- ways we’ve learned to adapt to meet our needs. As we work on ourselves we realize that they aren’t the most effective strategies.” Our Pain Points Are Our Map [30:00] “As long as we’re on autopilot, subconsciously driven by reaction and responses, we don’t feel like we have a choice-it just feels like “this is who I am”.” “Our triggers are our roadmap to healing.” “What have your triggers stopped you from doing?” “The path out of suffering always requires going through the thing we’d rather avoid.” Recognize Your Progress [43:0Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 2121. The Power of Intention with Andrew Wallas
On today’s episode, I had the honor of speaking with businessman and psychotherapist, Andrew Wallas, about the power of intentions. We dive into how our intentions fit hand in hand with our happiness, our business, and most importantly, our relationship with ourselves. Join us for an incredible episode of giving up control, shutting down the mind, and letting life happen for us.How Do You Define Life? [1:30] “We can see life as something that happens to us, or we can see life as something that happens for us.” “Life is something that I’m aligned with that’s helping my growth.” It’s Time to Evolve [7:54] “You can sit around and feel sorry for yourself, but staying in a place where you don’t let go of victimhood doesn’t give you the opportunity to grow and use the experience for you.” “How do we reinvent ourselves?” “Life is asking us to be flexible, to evolve, and those who are more willing to change will experience less friction and will be able to more easily adapt.” Taking Responsibility [12:45] “What is the biggest lie of the human species? The thought or the idea that something outside of yourself can make me happy.” “We need to take responsibility for our own life.” “Unconsciously, we are always looking for someone to blame. Taking responsibility for ourselves can be a hard pill to swallow.” Give Up Control [15:40] “True happiness is the absence of the search for happiness.” “We have to give up wanting to control everything around us.” “Inquire within. Figure out what’s going on within us.” It Starts With Intention [19:58] “Nothing exists in the universe without intention.” “Intention starts with listening to myself, my body, my gut.” “You figure out what you want from the inside out.” Shut Down The Mind [28:00] “95% of fear comes from the mind. When we’re looking at alignment and we take time to pause, it’s the body that will help us feel peaceful and aligned.” “Our minds are our biggest block in transformation. We don’t have to listen to every thought we have.” “Allowing my body and nervous system to calm, I could finally sense alignment, not just hear my fear-based mind.” Intention In Business [36:10] “Leadership starts with someone being willing to be authentic. They are human, they don’t know all the answers and want to explore everything.” “Listening to our own inner wisdom will change the world.” “To teach our audience, customers,or staff anything we need to demonstrate it fir Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! We can add and take away titles from our identity.” Our Inner Child [9:18] “The reality is that you can do a great job working through something, and feelings and emotions can still come up.” “Giving something form gives it tangibility and gives us access.” “You're giving to yourself as an adult, a full version of you. Your adult self is giving to your younger self what you never received. There is reprieve and freedom in that.” The Ego [15:35] “The ego is the soul in its infancy.” “Ego is our identity, it’s the way we see ourselves, it’s the way we see ourselves in others, and it’s the way we think or perceive others see us.” “When we relate to the past in a different way, it changes the ego in the present moment-making it a healthier version of self.” The Inner Child vs. The Ego [20:27] “The inner child is driving when you’re triggered. Learning how to be the parent that buckles the inner child in and takes the wheel is so important.” “In trauma therapy, you can do all the work, but if you don’t regulate your nervous system, the learning you think you're doing is just being stacked upon-it’s not doing anything for you.” Relationships [30:18] “Be in your own space. Get to know you and work through any trauma, difficulties, and patterns you have.” “Relationships will always teach us something about ourselves and we can always be teachers to our partners too, and grow together.” “I am here for me, I am here for you, I am here for us, and I am here for the planet.” “If you bring trauma to a relationship, you’re going to attract more trauma.” Be Open, Be Clear[40:40]“The more you know what you want, the more you are able to practice making your requests, and have the ability to be clear in that with a partner, then you are floating in truth.”Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! Ep 1717. Realigning Your Relationships With Lauren Zoeller
In today’s episode of The Coachable Podcast, Lauren Zoeller and I dig into what it takes to have a long lasting and fulfilling relationship. From healing and commitment to exes and intimacy, we figure out what it takes to have the relationship you desire. Reclaim Your Voice [3:45] “Relationships are truly the greatest gift we’ve ever been given.” “Commit to yourself and reclaim your voice.” Reflect What You Desire [12:10] “Your single-ness or discontent in relationships is due to core wounds that haven’t been brought to light and healed.” “You are a reflection of what you are attracting into your dating life.” Take Responsibility For YOU [18:35] “The only thing we truly have control over is the way we feel at any given time.” “How someone responds to your truth is not your responsibility.” Our Ex Relationships [24:25] “If someone is bashing an ex, it’s showing that they haven’t taken responsibility for the relationship ending and healing that in themselves.” “It takes two people for a relationship to not work.” “The way you speak about an ex is a reflection of the healing work you’ve done.” Intimacy and Growth [27:00] “After 60-90 days, hormones can settle and you can get to really know someone on an intimate level before sharing the most sacred act of intimacy with someone.” “Don’t utilize sexuality as a weapon.” “The key to intimacy and deep alignment is vulnerability-being able to speak your voice and be transparent.” Love Language Connection [35:30] “Intimacy is so much more than the act of sex- deep intimacy can’t come without emotional, mental, and spiritual connection.” “Open communication and vulnerability creates intimacy.” Downfalls of Relationships [39:10] “The downfall of relationships is people not wanting to have that additional conversation within themselves and also with their partner to say, ‘this is how this makes me feel’.” “Another downfall: One person is willing to put in the work and the other person is shutting down.” Put In The Work For YOU [46:09] “There is a right or wrong when it comes to neglect of self-the minute you start to discount yourself and the experiences you’re feeling, you need to separate from the other person. You are NOT responsible for their feelings.” “Embody the example, don’t shame your partner into doing the work.” Commitment vs. Interest [54:03] “An aligned partnership has very little to do with what you’re doing and everything to do with who you’re being.” “When you’re interested in something, you’ll do it when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you’ll do whatever it takes.” Stay inConnect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! There is nothing we can’t do.”Healing Takes Your Brain and Your Spirit[18:49] “Deep healing can’t be done on just an intellectual basis.” “The hallmark of trauma is often choicelessness. Reclaiming our sovereignty is recognizing we have a choice in how to address it.” Grief is Mutual[20:30] “A miracle can be a shift in perception- how do we move forward during or after crisis?” “There are seasons of life and one of them is grief. Grief is functional, and it’s how the mind, heart, and spirit experience it and help us get through it.” “Suffering gives you X-ray vision into the suffering of others.” Suffering Doesn’t Happen Alone [27:24] “It is statistically possible that others around you have suffered just as much.” “Our suffering takes individual form, but most of us are suffering.” Society Needs Healing [31:51] “So much of the despair we feel is based on the anxiety over economic tension.” “Policy after policy makes it too hard for the average person: they fear of having a child because of environmental factors, they can’t be in the job they want to be in because of the lack of benefits.” Turn Off Fear and Turn On Love [35:50] “There is so much fear to unlearn and release.” “Fear is to love as darkness is to light. Don’t analyze the dark, turn on the light. Don’t analyze the fear, turn on the love.” Learn Through Connection [37:45] “We must learn to forgive and we must learn to love each other” “Every relationship, every connection is a lesson.” Wisdom Is Built Through Application [43:02] “Knowledge isn’t power-we have to learn to apply it.” “Behave in a way that contributes to the love that will heal the world.” Transform The World; Transform Each Other [49:00]“This isn't an age of data collection, it’s an age of applicatConnect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/Guess what?! They don’t want 2. Might not be capable of or 3. Might not be ready for?” “You have the responsibility to the relationship to say “this is enough for me and I'm okay”; to accept that the person can grow on their own accord if they so choose to.” The Depth of a Connection [34:17] “If you’re looking for a deep connection, it has to be welcomed; you have to be open.” Knowing your partner’s wounds is a love language- if your partner doesn’t know those things for themselves, ti will be hard to navigate” Be Conscious of Connection [39:41] “The more I understand about myself, the more I understand my non-negotiables for another human being.” “We all need connection to thrive.” “Be appreciative of what you have in front of you, instead of what you’re yearning for in your imagination. Ep 33Healing the Body with Functional Medicine with Megan Warren
Today's guest, Megan Warren investigated WHY her body wasn’t operating optimally in order to get the root of health struggles that plagued her for years. The truth is most of your “common” symptoms/aches/pains aren’t “normal” or a “part of getting older” but a result of some type of imbalance in the body. Instead of slapping on a band-aid to mask symptoms, I use advanced testing to look at the body as a whole helping to find the missing pieces to common health puzzles. I specialize in balancing hormone & gut health, and incorporate mind/body support to free emotional eating for good.Learn more about how you can heal your body through functional medicine today! To stay connected with Megan check her out on IG at @iammeganwarren or forgivingbelly.comTo purchase the anxiety releasing Shift Necklace from Komuso Design visit www.komusodesign.com and use code COACHTORI for 20% OFF!Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecoachablepodcast/Connect with Tori on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachtorigordon/ Guess what?!
