History of the Papacy Podcast

Today we are joined for a third time by Will Clark, host of The Grey History Podcast. That’s grey with an “e.” In Grey History, Will discusses how history is not black and white, good guys and bad guys. The French Revolution is a great example of history being in the gray area. In this episode, Will and I will look at the motivations and incentives of the actors in the Church and revolutionary French government. Will and I will look at the French Revolution and what role the Church had in the Revolution. This is a more complicated topic that it appears. There was fabulously wealthy clergy and poor clergy. There was up and coming clergy and there were entrenched clergy. Each of these groups had their own incentives and goals.
