10 Most POWERFUL Wizards in Harry Potter History - Harry Potter Theory
Over the years, I've done a lot of 'power ranking videos'..I've ranked the most powerful graduates from each Hogwarts house, the most powerful Death Eaters, the most powerful Aurors, the most powerful Order of the Phoenix members...And so on and so forth. But somehow, I've never actually ranked the 10 most powerful wizards of all time. I don't know how I missed it, but today we're going to finally be putting this topic to rest- taking a look at the 10 most powerful wizards to have made their mark (whether good or bad) on Wizarding history. Anyway, let's dive in to it. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info. Learn more about your ad choices. Why Could Quirrell TOUCH Harry at the Beginning of the Philosopher's Stone? - Harry Potter Explained
Hey everyone, Welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing The Philosopher's Stone, Hogwarts professor Quirinus Quirrell, Lord Voldemort, and of course- Harry Potter. After returning home from his trip, Quirrell didn't reprise his previous role of Muggle Studies professor; instead, he had been given the coveted position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor - a subject that had been notoriously cursed for years. And although Dumbledore, ever watchful, was wary of Quirrell's drastic transformation, he lacked concrete evidence and thus permitted the young professor to carry out his duties. And the year Quirrell assumed the role of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor coincidentally aligned with Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts. Very early on in Harry's magical adventures, he stops at the Leaky Cauldron with Hagrid, where he has his first encounter with Quirrell - a meeting that, at the time, seemed unremarkable but would later prove to be far more significant. WHY the Ministry NEVER Uses Veritaserum on Criminals - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing Veritaserum- an incredibly powerful (and I feel, underutilized) potion that forces individuals to reveal the truth. "It is Veritaserum - a Truth Potion so powerful that three drops would have you spilling your innermost secrets for this entire class to hear. Now, the use of this potion is controlled by very strict Ministry guidelines. But unless you watch your step, you might just find that my hand slips - right over your evening pumpkin juice. And then, Potter... then we'll find out whether you've been in my office or not." Besides maybe Felix Felicis, Polyjuice Potion and Amortentia- I feel as though Veritaserum AKA 'Truth' Serum is one of the most powerful potions in the entire Wizarding World. And given this fact, I can't help but notice that it's ludicrously underutilized (at least in the series). Why Didn't MORE Dark Wizards Create Horcruxes? (Or Did They?) - Harry Potter Theory
Are we really supposed to believe that, over the course of wizarding history, only two dark wizards have created Horcruxes? Today we're going to be tackling the question of...Did MORE wizards create Horcruxes than we realize? And if not, why didn't they? Let's dive in. The REAL Reason Grindelwald Was EXPELLED from Durmstrang - Harry Potter Theory
Durmstrang's true 'claim to fame' or rather 'notorious hallmark' was one of its former pupils: Gellert Grindelwald. Grindelwald permanently stained the school's reputation by pushing the boundaries of dark magic even FURTHER than the school permitted, eventually being expelled for 'twisted, dark experiments' and 'near-fatal attacks' on students. But what exactly did Gellert Grindelwald do? Durmstrang was notorious for allowing its students to explore the darker side of magic..How far did he really push that boundary? As these attacks and experiments were never explored in detail, today I'm going to be taking a look at a few theories. Why Didn't Voldemort Become an Animagus? (+The Fate of Those Who FAIL) - Harry Potter Theory
According to Hermione's research, there are only 7 known Animagi from the last CENTURY. In fact, the ability is SO RARE that those who are able to successfully become an Animagus are required to register with the ministry. So..My question is: WHY are there so few? How is it that this powerful ability is so underutilized in wizarding society? And what happens to those who have tried and FAILED? But perhaps most importantly: Why haven't the most powerful and gifted wizards like Voldemort and Dumbledore attempted it? Or..Have they? 5 Harry Potter Questions NEVER Answered by the Books - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. SPECIFICALLY, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Questions WITHOUT Answers. Today we're going to be answering some questions about the Harry Potter series that a lot of people..Probably don't know the answers to. From little tidbits to what may seem like major oversights, this video will cover them all. This is of course PART 2 so if you haven't seen part 1 already then go and check it out afterwards. Why Don't Dark Wizards Use Avada Kedavra ALL THE TIME? - Harry Potter Theory
The Killing Curse. Avada Kedavra. One of the three Unforgivable Curses, this dark spell is the ultimate symbol of disregard for life. Feared for its infamous reputation, the mere utterance of the words that comprise its incantation would send shockwaves of fear through the hearts of most in the Wizarding World. But my question is..Why isn't it used more often? NO, I don't WANT it to be used more often, but it does feel a little underutilized in the series given how powerful it truly is. Sure, it's an 'Unforgivable curse'- but what's REALLY stopping a Dark Wizard from using it? Especially one that's already been to Azkaban and embraced a life of crime? Why risk losing a duel when you can end it with one simple spell? I mean, it's unblockable and irreversible...The perfect weapon. Today we'll be diving into 5 unique reasons for why Adava Kedavra isn't used MORE in the Wizarding World. Let's dive in. What Made Voldemort & Dumbledore MORE Powerful than OTHER Wizards? - Harry Potter Theory
Magical power. The ultimate currency among witches and wizards. With enough of it, you can dazzle your classmates, climb the wizarding hierarchy (social or economic), and perhaps - even dare to conquer the world. Whether it's used to protect, create, or destroy, magical power is the ultimate force that shapes the destinies of witches and wizards. But given its significance, what IS magical power, really? Is it simply raw strength - the ability to cast more powerful spells than anyone else? Or is it something deeper, something tied to intellect, skill, or even character? If that's the case, what sets the most powerful wizards - like Voldemort and Dumbledore - apart from others? And perhaps most importantly, what makes performing magic hard? What is it that separates a simple spell from a complex one? Today we'll be diving into 3 of my theories as we peel back the layers of magical POWER in Harry Potter. Let's dive in to it. How Did Dumbledore Understand Parseltongue? - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be taking a closer look at one of the many oddities of the wizarding world: How in Merlin's Beard Professor Albus Dumbledore was able to understand the language of snakes - Parseltongue. Yes, that's right, Dumbledore. The wizarding world's favourite headmaster, known for his defeat of Gellert Grindelwald, love of lemon sherbets, and ability to give cryptic life advice. This man somehow understood one of the rarest, most exclusive, and seemingly dark magical languages - a language that's supposed to be reserved for the descendants of Salazar Slytherin. Ron Used the IMPERIUS CURSE on Hermione - Harry Potter Film Theory

7 Storylines MISSING From the Harry Potter Movies (PART 2)
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today's video is PART 2 of a 4 part series where we'll be taking a closer look at the storylines left OUT of the Harry Potter films. These are the subplots and storylines from the books that didn't make it to the big screen due to time constraints. Apparently the upcoming Harry Potter HBO series, which has the goal of creating faithful adaptations of the novels, will allocate 8 HOURS per season, with each season dedicated to one book. With that sort of a runtime, we should be hopeful that all of these secondary storylines make it in. Anyway, let's get in to it. 7 Storylines MISSING From the Harry Potter Movies
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. While the Harry Potter films were able to bring the Wizarding World's magic to the big screen (and in my opinion, did a good job at doing so) it's important to note that they were not without their limitations. The truth is that they had a LOT of information to convey, and a very limited amount of screen time to do it- inevitably leading to a fairly substantial amount of information - characters, subplots etc being left out of the films ENTIRELY. HOWEVER, today I'm going to be putting the spotlight on some of these omitted storylines (some big, some small) from the books, giving them the screen time they deserve. I've done a few videos in the style before, one taking a look at the DARKEST aspects removed from the films, and another looking at all of the characters removed from the films, but today I'll be focusing on storylines. Hopefully most of these will be included in the upcoming HBO series. Anyway, let's dive in. Why Didn't the Potters DISAPPARATE to Escape Voldemort? - Harry Potter Theory
On October 31st 1981, Lord Voldemort walked through the doors of the Potter cottage in Godric's Hollow for the first time. But what should have been a seemingly straightforward mission for a powerful wizard at the height of his power ended up being a catastrophic event for both parties. Harry lost his parents and Voldemort lost his corporeal form- effectively putting an end to the First Wizarding War, and changing the course of Harry's life forever. But I can't help but think that MOST of what occurred at the Potter cottage on that fateful night was avoidable altogether. A way that James, Lily and Harry would have been able to escape safely..And it involves Apparition.- Today we're going to be exploring all of this and more as we tackle the question of: WHY DIDN'T THE POTTERS DISAPPARATE to escape Voldemort? Rowling's Retcons: 8 Major Changes to Harry Potter AFTER the Books Ended - Harry Potter Explained
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing RETCONS- specifically, all of the RETCONS made by JK Rowling after the Harry Potter series had ended. I should start off by making a clear distinction between what retcon USED to mean and what it means now, because somehow the term has evolved over time into something else altogether. Depending on which version of 'Retcon' you subscribe to, you're going to have very different expectations for this list. The ORIGINAL interpretation of Retcon, which stands for 'Retroactive Continuity', referred broadly to adding new information to previously told stories to expand or reinterpret the narrative. A good example of this would be JK Rowling revealing (through extended publications) that Witches and wizards VANISHED THEIR POOP via magic before the Hogwarts plumbing system came into effect.- And the more commonly understood modern definition of retcon refers specifically to changes that contradict previously established facts in the narrative, whether intentional or unintentional. The distinction here is that this interpretation places an emphasis on these new facts conflicting with existing canon. A third definition I found online seems to support either: 'a literary device in which facts in the world of a fictional work that have been established through the narrative itself are adjusted, ignored, supplemented, or contradicted by a subsequently published work that recontextualizes or breaks continuity with the former.' But for the sake of today's video, we're going to separate them, first placing our sights on works that CONTRADICT the source material, then shifting our perspective to more recently introduced content that SUPPLEMENTS the source material (but doesn't change it). Starting with the former. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info. Learn more about your ad choices. 7 Things We Learn About Harry Potter AFTER the Books
Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory.-Before we get started, let me clarify what we're diving into today: this video is all about the things we learn about the Harry Potter story after the series ended - little tidbits of info that Rowling shared outside of the books. Things like..Oh I don't know, the fact that Rowling very seriously considered killing off Ron Weasley. The Trace Makes NO SENSE (+Its DARK Secret REVEALED) - Harry Potter Theory
There are quite a few mistakes and plot holes in the Harry Potter books and films. In fact, there are enough for me to make several compilations of them. However, perhaps one of the most confusing and inconsistent elements of the Wizarding World is undoubtedly the 'Trace'- a fairly major plot component that is riddled with contradictions.- To the Harry Potter casual, these issues with the Trace probably went by relatively unnoticed, but for the die-hards, it was hard to ignore the glaringly obvious ways in which the trace was misrepresented. There are also many components of the trace that are never explained- like how it is actually applied to underage witches and wizards. Today, we'll be diving deep into the Trace - exploring what it is, how it's applied to children, and, through examples from the books and films, uncovering why this concept is essentially a total trainwreck. We'll also be looking at the trace from a more SINISTER perspective via one of my theories. Let's dive in. Why Wizards STOPPED Using POWERFUL Ancient Magic - Harry Potter Theory
"A magic this powerful can do great harm in the wrong hands. It must be wielded by a select few." This fairly ominous quote of course refers to the phenomenon that is Ancient Magic - a primal, mysterious force that predates the more structured spellwork of the modern Wizarding World. Revered for its immense power yet feared for its unpredictability, ancient magic is woven into the tapestry of wizarding history, appearing in legends and the very foundations of wizarding society. Yet, in the modern day we hear very little of this 'ancient' and powerful force. Which raises an important question: how could something so integral to the Wizarding World's past have dwindled into what is effectively complete obscurity. In today's video, we'll delve into the mysteries of Ancient Magic - exploring what it truly is, where it went, and examining some examples of Ancient Magic that appear throughout the series, some of which you may not have even realized were ancient magic at all. HBO Found Their NEW Dumbledore + Hogwarts Legacy SEQUEL Update - Harry Potter News
Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. From the moment HBO's new Harry Potter TV Series was announced in April of 2023, fans of the series have been buzzing with questions and excitement. Questions like..What will the series be about? Will it stay true to the original books? And most importantly, who will be in charge of the project? And since then, a lot of these questions have been answered.- But perhaps the biggest lingering question mark surrounding the series pertains to casting. Because you see, so much of the Harry Potter films success was a direct result of the incredible casting decisions that were made.- For many of the roles it's almost impossible to imagine ANYONE else undertaking them. But..Showrunners for the upcoming series have the behemoth task of finding people anyway. Back in September an open casting call was announced for 3 of the most important characters in the series- Harry, Ron and Hermione. And for these roles, I can almost certainly tell you that it will be relatively unknown actors that end up taking on the characters. But besides these 3, there are a few other massively important roles that are central to the series..Like, oh I don't know- ALBUS DUMBLEDORE. And as it turns out, the studio already has someone in mind. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info. Where Do SQUIBS Come From? Why Aren't They Magical? - Harry Potter Theory
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing exactly how the genetics of witches and wizards work, with a focus on where the heck SQUIBS come from. If you're a fan of Harry Potter and the works of fantasy fiction in general, you've likely asked yourself the question: Where does magic come from? In some universes it would seem that magic can be acquired or learned. But in others - like the wizarding world of Harry Potter - magic is explained as more of a natural talent or "gift" that a person is born with.- But how exactly does that magic get passed down from generation to generation? Why is it that some Muggles end up with magical abilities - while other children born into wizarding families are unable to perform even the simplest of spells? HUGE Update for Hogwarts Legacy 2! (FINALLY!)
Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. In what seems like just the last couple of years (but in reality has spanned nearly a DECADE), Warner Bros. has faced some challenges when releasing new Harry Potter IP- particularly the "Fantastic Beasts" film series. These high-budget films which dropped in 2016, 2018, and 2022 respectively struggled to find traction at the global box office and didn't quite hit the mark for most fans. And for these reasons, it's unlikely that the Fantastic Beasts films will ever continue, stopping 2 films shy of the 5 film projection originally provided.- However, Warner Bros. found a bright spot in 2023 with the release of Hogwarts Legacy, which seemed to really strike a chord with Harry Potter fans worldwide. The game topped sales charts as the best-selling game of 2023 across ALL platforms and ALL genres- beating out Call of Duty, Madden, Zelda, Diablo and more. And since the game's release over 30 MILLION copies have been sold. Encouraged by this success, Warner Bros. Games released Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions in August, remastered the Lego Harry Potter game collection, and granted licenses for several new mobile games. But the biggest bit of news is that a Hogwarts Legacy SEQUEL has apparently become a 'very big priority'. Why Didn't Voldemort Pick RANDOM Tiny Objects for Horcruxes? - Harry Potter Theory
A grain of sand on a lost beach. A tiny pebble lying unnoticed on the ocean floor. A fallen acorn buried under years of autumn leaves. A faded seashell washed ashore on an uninhabited island. These are just a few examples of the kinds of objects that I would use if I was in the position to create my own Horcruxes...And I'm sure the same can be said for a lot of you. Why? Well.. They're small, hard-to-locate, and perhaps most important of all: meaningless. But somehow, Voldemort missed the memo here, and instead chose objects that were eventually linked back to him. So..The obvious questions here are...WHY was Voldemort so particular in his selection process for potential Horcruxes? And why didn't he choose things that would be virtually impossible to find? After all, had he done what seems so obvious, to pick meaningless inanimate objects, he may still be ruling over the Wizarding World. The Ministry of Magic Is More EVIL than You Think - Harry Potter Theory
The introduction of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1692 marked a pivotal moment in Wizarding history.-It put a stop to the witch hunts and unjust persecution of witches and wizards. It ushered in an era of harmonious co-existence. And most importantly, it separated the two worlds: muggle and magical. But what IF there was a darker element to the statute that has never been properly explored?- an element that concerned the muggles beyond the primary separation of the two worlds? What if the statute, and the subsequent formation of the Ministry of Magic- marked the dawn of an era wherein wizardkind stealthily wielded control over the non-magical world, deftly manipulating it from the concealed depths of the shadows? Today we're going to be exploring all of that, and more, as we discuss wizardkind's *silent* control over the Muggle dominion. Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. This is part 1 of a video series where I'll be diving in to the Harry Potter books and taking a look, chapter by chapter, at all of the mistakes that were made. Starting with book 1: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I'm going to be placing a particular focus on instances in which factual errors were made or canon was somehow contradicted. Trivial errors like typos / grammatical issues will not be focused on this video. I should also mention that I'm not making this video to CRITICIZE the books, but rather, take a look out of my own curiosity. Authors are only human and nearly every book series has mistakes like these made in them. Rowling has even addressed this topic herself: "As obsessive fans will tell you, I do slip up! Several classrooms move floors mysteriously between books and these are the least serious continuity errors! Most of the fansites will point you in the direction of my mistakes. But the essentials remain consistent from book to book because the story has been plotted for a long time and it is clear in my mind." In the interest of time, I'm also only going to briefly summarizing each mistake as there's quite a lot of ground to cover.- Starting...With the COVER of the very first book. EVERY Dark Wizarding CRIME That Will Send You to Azkaban - Harry Potter Explained
Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. Now- we've all heard of the Unforgivable Curses - three of the most forbidden and dangerous spells in the wizarding world. Casting any of these, whether it's the Cruciatus Curse, the Imperius Curse, or the Killing Curse, is considered such a heinous crime that it's punishable by a life sentence in Azkaban. But this got me thinking... What other acts in the Wizarding World can earn you a sentence to Azkaban? 7 MORE Harry Potter Theories EVERY FAN AGREES WITH (Part 2)
Welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. In my last video I discussed 7 Harry Potter theories that are so inconsequential and likewise plausible that they are hard to deny. Theories with such little evidence against them that, for the most part, we can all agree they likely have a basis in reality. In my last video, it seemed like many of you agreed with my picks, so today we're diving into 7 more of these theories..Pushing the envelope a little further. Let me know down in the comment section what you think. Let's dive in. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info. 7 Harry Potter Theories Every Fan AGREES ON
Within the theorydom, there are some pretty absurd Harry Potter theories out there. And I'll admit, I'm likely responsible for quite a few of them... However, even when I present more rational theories, they often face their fair share of scrutiny. There are usually a number of ways in which even a fairly IRONCLAD theory can be challenged. But every once in a while a theory comes along with so few holes that..For the most part, Potterheads actually AGREE. Theories so plausible (and with so little evidence pointing AGAINST them)..Or just, inconsequential and light-hearted that it's easier to just roll with them than to argue. Today we're going to be taking at look at 7 theories that fit exactly this criteria. Theories you hear and just think..."Why not?" Let's dive in. New Harry Potter TV Show Writer HASN’T READ THE BOOKS
With the new Harry Potter TV Show on the (still fairly distant) horizon, more and more details about the show are slowly being unravelled. However, one recent bit of news that came to light a few days ago has left fans a little distraught... Ollivander's DARKEST Secret - Harry Potter Theory
At the time of writing this, Ollivander's Wand Shop has been supplying the wizarding community with the finest wands money can buy for nearly 24 centuries, having first opened its doors as far back as 382 BC. I know I know, this date DOES seem a little far-fetched, but rest assured that it has been confirmed as canon. And it was during that year that the original 'Ollivander', the ancestor of Garrick Ollivander, was thought to have come from a Mediterranean country in Roman times and set up a stall in what would eventually become Diagon Alley.- The Ollivander family quickly revolutionized wand making when they publicly forsook the traditional wand-making process, which previously had witches and wizards procure their own wand core. Ollivander believed that this process produced wands that were 'inferior' in quality and performance, which led to the family procuring all wand components for future customers. At this point, the Ollivander of the time began his quest to discover the finest wand cores and the wand woods that best complemented them. And from this point onward, the purchaser would no longer select a wand of THEIR choosing- and instead began the tradition of the WAND choosing the wizard. In theory, this is a nice idea which ensures that each witch or wizard is paired with a wand perfect just for them. It also portrays the Ollivander family as genuinely caring for their customers' best interests in the name of passionate wand-making. But I think there's a lot more to this business model than meets the eye, and I think that I've got some compelling evidence to suggest that there are seriously dark undertones to the wand industry. Join me today as we dismantle the single longest-running business in Wizarding History. How Do Wizards Communicate with Dementors? - Harry Potter Theory
I question the Harry Potter books A LOT. But there's one thing in particular that I've always more or less accepted at face value with no regard for HOW it actually unfolds. And that THING is HOW the Ministry (and others) communicates with what are essentially amortal wraithlike spirits that (as far as I know) do NOT possess the ability to speak. I'm of course talking about DEMENTORS. Adding even more mystery to this question is the fact that underneath that hood of theirs the Dementors have a HOLE where their mouth is supposed to be (along with some black holes for eyes).- We know that the Ministry of Magic controls them (to some extent), but I suppose you could argue that this is an unspoken arrangement whereby Dementors are allowed to THRIVE at Azkaban Prison in exchange for relative 'peace' between the two factions. But as it happens, there are passages from the books which STRONGLY suggest Dementors relayed information to Fudge & The Ministry..In The form of WORDS strung together. Therefore, today I want to tackle the question of..CAN Dementors speak. And equally as important, HOW? Let's dive in. Azkaban Prisoners Are Human Sacrifices - DARK Harry Potter Theory
On the surface, Azkaban seems like a pretty good idea- mainly due to its effectiveness. It's on a far-off remote island, it has a fortress designed to keep the most dangerous criminals at bay, there are perpetual storms surrounding the island, AND there's an army of Dementors working as prison guards.- And that's just the PHYSICAL side of things. Mentally, the prison is an absolute nightmare. The crashing waves and howling winds serve as a natural barrier, isolating the inmates from the world they once terrorized. The Dementors, with their shadowy forms, siphon hope and happiness from every soul they encounter. And those who enter Azkaban often leave something behind - pieces of their sanity, their will to fight, and sometimes even their humanity. And all of this is just about borderline acceptable if we consider that it's meant to house murderers, dark wizards and those who have committed unspeakable acts against others. But the major issue here is that Azkaban is one of the ONLY Wizarding Prisons in Britain. And what this means is that perpetrators of more MINOR crimes, and in some cases those who have been wrongly convicted, are unjustly sent in to this hell-hole along with the rest of them.- It hardly seems appropriate that someone convicted for say, theft, would endure what is essentially the same punishment as someone who has murdered. This raises a whole plethora of questions about wizarding society as a whole, but the one we're going to start with is: WHY one gigantic horrible prison? Why not a network of smaller, more humane facilities that focus on rehabilitation rather than sheer punishment?- Today we're going to be diving in to all of that, and more, as we discuss the mess that is the wizarding justice system. Harry Potter lore is a lot deeper than some people realize, so today we're going to be winding the clocks back once again and exploring 7 more significant events in Harry Potter canon. The last video left us in the early part of the 13th century, and today we'll be picking things up in the latter half. Let's get in to it. The Shocking TRUTH Behind Blood Status and Magical Power - Harry Potter Theory
Blood status has been a controversial and longstanding source of division and prejudice in the Wizarding World, and it all stems from the categorization of magical bloodlines into pure-bloods, half-bloods, and muggle-borns. And while I don't condone demonizing any of these groups and certainly don't want to contribute to further prejudice, I can't help but wonder if there are actual physiological differences between them - beyond just their blood, of course. Voldemort's stance on blood purity is an unusual one, as despite being a half-blood himself, he condemned anyone that wasn't pure of blood. This becomes increasingly confusing when considered in tandem with his own ego, as he hardly seems like the type of person to undermine his own identity. At first glance his hatred and prejudice towards other groups seems like completely blind and-baseless discrimination, but if we consider that his ultimate goal undermines his OWN identity, perhaps it tells us that he genuinely perceived qualities in pure-bloods that he felt were essential for true magical prowess.- Today we're going to be exploring all of that AND MORE as we attempt to identify differences between pure-bloods, half-bloods and muggleborns. 7 Major Events BEFORE The Harry Potter Story Started
Just recently I made a video on 7 things that occur after the Harry Potter story ended, that is, after the books and films concluded. This helped to introduce an element of closure to those who were wondering what may have happened next for Hogwarts, the trio, and the Wizarding World at large. And today we're going to be sticking to that same theme but flipping it on its head, exploring major events and wizarding conflicts that occured PRIOR to the first few iconic pages of the story that we've come to know and love.- This video marks the beginning of a 4-part series, during which we will explore nearly 30 major Wizarding World events in chronological order. How Powerful Is WANDLESS MAGIC in Harry Potter?
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing the MOST powerful wandless magic within the wizarding world at large. Within the Harry Potter series, it's hard to imagine the majority of the scenes that focus on magic - WITHOUT wands. There are just SO many important and pivotal scenes that all revolve around these magical devices. From the more innocent scenes of The Philosopher's Stone when Harry Potter himself steps into Ollivanders wand shop for the first time and Hermione schools Ron and Harry on how to pronounce "Wingardium Leviosa" to the more ominous plotlines that deal with the whole twin core thing or Lord Voldemort's pursuit of the most powerful wand known to exist - the Elder Wand - these magic-wielding sticks are integral to the very heart of the books and the films. And yet - despite all the great and terrible things that witches and wizards are able to do using wands - there are also quite a few other forms of extremely powerful WANDLESS magic out there. Dumbledore Got It WRONG: The REAL History of the Deathly Hallows REVEALED - Harry Potter Theory
The legend of the Deathly Hallows is one of the most well-known stories in the wizarding world. Passed down through generations, it tells the tale of three wizard brothers who encounter Death and are each granted a powerful magical artifact: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Invisibility Cloak.- And what all 3 of these powerful items have in common is that they are able to perform extraordinary feats far beyond what is typically seen in the Wizarding World. The Resurrection Stone is said to be able to bring the dead back to life. The Elder Wand has the ability to conquer all other wands, and The Invisibility Cloak is able to hide whatever - or whomever - is beneath it, even in circumstances in which typical invisibility charms do not work.- Together, these items make up the Deathly Hallows, often represented by a symbol that includes all three. These items DO exist, that much can be confirmed, but it's their backstory where things get a little foggy See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
