The Jesus Revolution & Evangelism | Start Sharing the Gospel
You know, when you share a smile with someone, it’s not like they take it from you and you don’t have it anymore. Often you both end up smiling. When you share a word of encouragement, both of you are the better for it. When you share the Good News of God’s love, it can touch both of you profoundly. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie shares how the Gospel is at the very center of God’s plan for mankind. It’s the one thing that can change the eternal trajectory of someone else’s life. The Rapture & Revival | The Next Event on the Prophetic Calendar
In 2 Peter 3, we read, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” Some people accepted Christ yesterday—good thing the Rapture didn’t happen the day BEFORE yesterday. Coming up on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us learn all we can about the Rapture . . . that great event when we’re suddenly caught up to meet the Lord in the air. The Bible & Revival | Facts About God's Word
Oh the worthless things that get into our minds when we weren’t paying attention. We can remember the words of TV themes . . . the words in the jingles of various fast food restaurants . . . the words to songs on the radio—songs we don’t even like! If we hear something often enough, it sticks. If we can’t remember Bible verses, maybe we haven’t read them often enough. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us write the truth of Scripture on our hearts, from his message The Bible & Revival. The Bible & Revival | What Makes a Healthy Christian
God’s Word is a light for our path . . . food for our souls. It’s the only offensive weapon in our suit of spiritual armor. And yet, in many homes, it’s the most dusty book on the bookshelf. It contains the very keys to the issues of life, yet it’s overlooked and forgotten. And so many times we need the help it offers. A well-used Bible that’s falling apart is usually owned by someone who isn’t. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the importance of digesting Scripture. Things to Do Before the End of the World w/ Don Stewart | Part 2
If we knew exactly when Jesus was returning, most of us would make sure we’re ready. We’d drop everything and GET ready. Well, it’s important to know just how soon Jesus could return. In this case, what we don’t know can impact us for eternity. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie brings us trustworthy insight straight from God’s Word on what we can expect during the Rapture, and just how close we may be to that event. Things to Do Before the End of the World w/ Don Stewart | Part 1
We know Jesus is coming back. We don’t know when. The Bible even tells us that none of us knows the day or the hour. But it also advises us to be ready. It’ll come suddenly and could happen when we least expect it. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie welcomes Bible scholar Don Stewart for a revealing discussion of what the Bible says about God’s End Times plan. Although we don’t know the day or the hour of the Rapture, there’s so much we do know. And we’ll talk about that today. A Supernatural Invasion of God | Today’s Devotion from Pastor Greg
Today, we feature a powerful devotional thought from Pastor Greg's Daily Devotion. Follow Daily Devotions from Greg Laurie here. --- We can’t create a revival. We can’t organize a revival. But we can agonize in prayer for a revival. A revival is a supernatural invasion of God. It is something that God does for us and not something we do for Him. One person defined revival as a community saturated with God. Richard Owen Roberts, who wrote a great book called Revival, described it as “an extraordinary movement of the Holy Spirit producing extraordinary results.” A. W. Tozer defined revival as that which changes the moral climate of the community. Revival is nothing more or less than a new beginning of obedience to God. And really, nonbelievers don’t need revival; they need salvation. The church needs revival. Revival is for believers only, but evangelism is for nonbelievers. Charles Spurgeon said, “To be revived is a blessing which can only be enjoyed by those who have some degree of life. Those who have no spiritual life are not, and cannot be, in the strictest sense of the term, subjects of a revival. A true revival is to be looked for in the Church of God.” I don’t think most Americans have heard an authentic, biblical gospel presentation. In fact, I think we have a lot of “almost Christians” in our nation today. They know a little about the gospel, but they don’t understand it fully. They haven’t responded to it or embraced it. For example, when the apostle Paul presented the gospel to Herod Agrippa, the ruler said, “You almost persuade me to become a Christian” (Acts 26:28 NKJV). One of the greatest revivals in human history started with one man, Jonah. Initially he ran from God, but ultimately he came to his senses. God has called us, like Jonah, to go and preach the gospel. The question is, are we doing it? --- JESUS REVOLUTION is in theaters everywhere February 24, 2023. Catch an early screening February 22. Prayer & Revival | Spiritually Strengthen Yourself
We know we put on our socks before our shoes, and our shirt before our jacket. We all know that the order of things is important. Pastor Greg Laurie says a spiritual awakening will come to our culture after a spiritual revival comes upon the Church. God described that dynamic in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Ever been behind the wheel on a long road trip? The endless miles of highway can be fatiguing. We can actually feel sleepy . . . at 65 miles an hour! The Holy Spirit in Revival | The 1970s Spiritual Awakening

The 7 Love Letters of Jesus to His Church | What's Your Spiritual Temperature?
Remember when Goldilocks tasted the three bowls of porridge? One was too hot, the other too cold, and the third was just right. Some apply Goldilocks values to their Christian faith. They don’t want to be too “religious,” or too worldly, they want to be just right. The problem is, as we’ll see today, a lukewarm faith makes the Lord sick. Just a Moment | Sunday Message
In this engaging message, Pastor Greg Laurie encourages you to use the life you have for the glory of God. Notes Life passes quickly. James emphasizes the brevity of the life and the importance of living in God’s will. Life is short. Live it well. We should plan for the future but remember to put God’s will first. A trend in our nation is laziness. “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.” —Romans 12:11 James is not saying we need to always say, “If the Lord wills.” Rather, it is the idea to remember that God may change or alter our plans. True Christians are characterized as doing the will of God from their heart. Many Christians are afraid of God’s will for their life. Obedience to revealed truth guarantees guidance in matters unrevealed. God wants you to be filled with the Holy Spirit every day. God wants you to be holy and sexually pure. God calls each and every one of us to pray and give thanks. Be patient and wait for the will of God to be shown to you. Never be afraid to entrust an unknown future to a known God. To know God’s will, we need to present ourselves to God each and every day. Come to God and say, “Father, here is my life that You gave to me.” God is able to do above and beyond that which you ask or think. We need to include God in all our plans. The length of our life is up to God. We need to give God the glory for our life and health. We need to do what God calls us to do. The sin of commission is doing what we should not do. The sin of omission is not doing what we should do. We are all called to serve the Lord by serving others. God is nudging some of you to pray more. The Holy Spirit is urging you to share your faith more. God wants you to discover what your gifts are and to use them. “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” —Psalm 90:12 If you want to see revival, do revival-like things. Scripture Referenced Job 14:1 Job 9:25–26 Psalm 62:9 Psalm 39 Proverbs 6:6–8 Psalm 40:8 Ephesians 5:17 1 Thessalonians 4:3–4 1 Thessalonians 5:17–18 Psalm 37:4 Romans 12:1 Matthew 6:27 Deuteronomy 8:18 James 4:17 1 Thessalonians 5:17—18 --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. The Holy Spirit & You, Part 2 | Drawn to Christ By the Spirit
Some believers wish there were a tried and true formula for bringing someone to Christ. Memorize these verses, rehearse these statements. If they ask this, you say that. Well, preparation is good . . . but sometimes people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. But today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that mindset can get us into a world of trouble on the spiritual level. We’ll take a few moments to consider what we’re living for. And we’ll see where that leads us when it comes to eternity. Listen on harvest.org --- Listen to our new devotional podcast Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org. What Do You Live For? | Living For Christ
For some people, happiness is as elusive as a feather floating on a strong breeze. It’s in their sights, then escapes before they can lay hold. Is happiness just out of bounds for some people? Or are they looking in the wrong places? Pastor Greg Laurie addresses those concerns today on A NEW BEGINNING from one of this past year’s most requested messages. We’re studying Paul’s counsel in Philippians. It’s some of the Bible’s strongest encouragement, even though the words were written while Paul was in chains. What Do You Live For? | Where to Find Real Satisfaction
So many people post pictures of their food on social media. And, admittedly, a lot of it looks really good. But have you noticed the food that’s to die for is also the food you can die from? Isn’t that true? And in the bigger picture, that’s the way sin is. Sin first says “live it up” . . . then says, “you’ll never live that down.” Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out where we can find real satisfaction in life. We go to the Author of Life Himself to find out what He recommends. Listen on harvest.org --- Listen to our new devotional podcast Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org. Things Jesus Never Said | Sunday Message
Pastor Greg Laurie’s continuing in our Walk This Way series! He’s taking us into the book of James where we find instruction and direction for walking in the way of Jesus. Don't miss this! Notes 1. God is angry with me and wants to ruin my life. “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” —Jeremiah 31:3 2. God loves me and accepts me as I am (this is the opposite of the first one and is also wrong in a different way). God does love you and accepts you as you are, but He does not want to leave you that way! 3. Follow your heart. The modern use of the word heart is primarily thought of as emotion. Do not follow your heart; follow God’s heart (in other words, His Will). “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.” —Ezekiel 36:26 4. Trust your gut. The problem with trusting your gut is when selfishness is the motivating factor. Instead of trusting our gut, we should trust in the Lord. 5. We need to learn to love ourselves. The real problem is, we love ourselves too much. 6. You deserve to be happy. “Every man, whatsoever his condition, desires to be happy.” —Augustine (A.D. 397) God is happy! Jesus said, “Happy are they that hear the Word of God and keep it.” 7. God wants us to follow our dreams. God loves you and His plan for you is better than your plan. God is omniscient (all-knowing). What bothers you or brings tears to your eyes is a concern to God. God knows your tomorrow! The way to life is through death, the way to up is down, and the way to happiness is sadness. 8. We need to live our lives God’s way, not the way of the world. Wisdom is known by its actions. Wisdom is known by its good fruit. God’s wisdom is pure (moral purity). A wise person is not so arrogant to think they cannot learn anything; they will talk to a person, not about a person. We need to be bridge builders, not bridge burners. 9. If I live a good life, I will go to Heaven. There will be bad people in Heaven. There will be good people in Hell. It is not enough to know about God; we need to know God. The Race We Must Win | Breaking From the Past
Author Max Lucado has pointed out that a car’s windshield is a lot bigger than the rearview mirror, because we need to focus on where we’re going, not where we’ve been. Too many of us want to drag our past failures right into our present. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us break from the sins of our past, and focus on finishing our lives well. The Race We Must Win | Running With Endurance
As a rule, people don’t walk much anymore. Oh, some might do a couple of miles on the treadmill at the gym, but they drove three laps around the parking lot to get the closest parking space. In biblical times, everybody walked . . . a lot! And running? Well, that was the speeding they did when they were late for work. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out how Paul the Apostle offers counsel on how we can run the race of life with endurance, and how we can run to win. This Is Not a Drill! | It's How You Finish
Some people decide one day to get back to the gym. They make the commitment on Monday, and they’re all in! Tuesday, there they are. Wednesday. Thursday, a little late. Friday... oops missed that day. And by the following Wednesday they want their money back. Some people come to Christ full of passion and resolve. But today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out, it’s not how you start, but how you finish. It’s an important study in Nehemiah where we’ll learn to finish well. This Is Not a Drill! | What Christians Should Do
Every Sunday morning belongs to God . . . unless it’s a beautiful day, then you gotta get out in the fresh air. Every Sunday morning belongs to God . . . unless the weather’s awful, then you gotta watch the forecast. Devotions, every morning . . . unless you didn’t sleep well, or were out late the night before. God isn’t content with the leftovers of our lives. He wants to be top priority. Talk This Way | Sunday Message
We’re back in our Walk This Way series for this Sunday message. Open your Bible to James 3 and join Pastor Greg Laurie as he goes over the power of our words. Get good encouragement from this message! Notes There is power in what we say to others. Words matter, especially words of encouragement. More people have died by words than any weapon of man ever devised. The tongue is the most destructive weapon on the face of the earth. 1. What you say reveals who you are. The control of the tongue is a barometer of Christian maturity. The first sin committed after the fall was a sin of the tongue (Genesis 3:12). 2. We need to control what we say. James is telling us that the uncontrolled tongue has a direct pipeline to Hell. 3. Our words used right can do so much good. 4. Our words used wrong can do so much damage. Ways our words hurt others: 1. Gossip and backbiting (Proverbs 20:19). Gossip is like junk food—you know it is bad, but you eat it anyway. Ways our words hurt others: 2. Innuendo. Ways our words hurt others: 3. Misuse of our words in flattery. Gossip is saying behind a person’s back what you would never say to their face. Flattery is saying to a person’s face what you would never say behind their back. 1. Controlling your words is a sign of spiritual maturity. T – Is it true? H – Will it help? I – Is it inspiring? N – Is it necessary? K – Is it kind? 2. The greatest use of our words is to proclaim God’s Word. When you speak for God, take it very seriously! 3. Use your words to build up, not tear down. 4. Use your words to praise God, because this is the highest and greatest use of our tongue. It’s not enough to think it; you need to say it out loud! 5. Use your words to preach the gospel, because this is God’s primary way of reaching nonbelievers. 6. Use your words to confess your sins. You can think it, but you need to say it out loud … I have sinned. The best use of our words: Build up, not tear down; encourage, not discourage. Praise God. Proclaim the gospel. Confess your sins. Happiness: Where to Find It | Sunday Message
In this Sunday message, Pastor Greg Laurie gives us encouragement perfect for the New Year with a message titled, “Happiness: Where to Find It.” Most people deep down inside want to be happy. It’s even in our Declaration of Independence that in the United States of America we want to be happy. Even those who say they don’t want to be happy, and want to be unhappy, find a certain happiness in their unhappiness. You may be surprised to know that God wired you to want to be happy, and according to the Bible, you can be happy—you should be happy. But you just need to look for it in the right place. Here are a few places not to look for happiness. Being beautiful or handsome will not bring personal happiness. Sometimes people think, “If I was as handsome or beautiful as the people that I see in magazines or as the movie stars, I’d be happy.” We’re always trying to look our best with surgery, airbrushing, Photoshop, Instagram filters, and other enhancements. But there will always be someone more attractive, and physical attractiveness will not make you happy. Personal possessions will not bring personal happiness. Your life may improve or be more comfortable, but possessions will not bring the real happiness you’re searching for. For many, having more money leads to depression. Proverbs 27:20 says, “Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied” (NKJV). Having relationships will not make you happy. We are wired for a relationship. We are wired to have someone to love and marry one day. That’s not bad, but if you say marriage is going to make you happy, you are going to be in for a big shock. People let us down. Parents let down children. Children let down parents. Husbands let down wives. Wives let down husbands. Pursuing pleasure will never bring personal happiness. There are many fine pleasures in life that are good. A nice meal. A beautiful sunset. Time with people you love. Those are good pleasures, and then there are perverse pleasures that are sinful. The Bible even says these can be fun for a time, but there are repercussions. 1 Timothy 5:6 says that she “who lives in pleasure is dead while she lives” (NKJV). Here’s the bottom line of Paul’s happiness, found in Philippians 4:4. He says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” (NASB). That is the key. It is rejoicing in the Lord. It is not rejoicing in your condition, rejoicing in your circumstances, rejoicing in your current emotional state, or something else. It’s rejoicing in the Lord and filling your mind with the truth of God. It changes your outlook. I’m not talking about positive thinking. I’m talking about having a mind that is filled with God’s truth—having the mind of Christ. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org.
