Mark 2a (7-30-25)
Today we are starting chapter 2 and looking at two wonderful passages of the love of Jesus and his willingness to heal and call all of us who are broken and sinful.
New Things – New Creations (Part 1)
This week we begin our “New Things” series by focusing on the transformation God desires for each of us. Becoming a new creation isn’t about earning salvation—it’s about glorifying God through a changed life. Learn how surrender leads to spiritual renewal and obedience. Key Scriptures: Ezekiel 36:22–27 Romans 6:4 2 Corinthians 5:17 Hebrews 8:10 Colossians 3:9–11 Main Points: We are not new creations because we deserve it! We are new creations to reveal God’s holiness! We will receive new hearts and new spirits! We will be new so that we can follow and obey! Reflection: Are you living as a new creation, or still stuck in the old self? God has already placed the truth in your heart—now it’s time to respond. Why Church? Spiritual Growth
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. In this final installment of our “Why Church?” series, we focus on spiritual growth. God has given gifts to the church—leaders, teachers, and community—to help us grow in faith and maturity. Church isn’t just a place to attend; it’s where we are equipped, challenged, and supported in our walk with Christ. Key Scriptures: Ephesians 4:11–16 1 Timothy 4:14–15 Hebrews 10:24–25 2 Peter 3:17–18 Main Points: Jesus has given gifts to the church to help with spiritual growth! God’s people are called to do his work and build up the church! Know what Christ’s goal is for the Church! Reflection: Are you growing spiritually? Are you connected to the Body of Christ in a way that challenges and encourages you? Don’t let isolation stunt your growth. Let the church be the place where Jesus helps you mature. Why Church? Serving
This week in our “Why Church?” series, we focus on the call to serve. Serving others is not just a good idea—it’s a Christ-centered command. Jesus didn’t come to be served, but to serve. And He calls us to do the same. Church is where we learn, practice, and grow in this calling. Key Scriptures: Mark 9:34–35 John 13:12–17 Galatians 5:13 1 Peter 4:8–10 Mark 10:45 Philippians 2:5–8 Main Points (verbatim): Our sinful nature wants to be served! The New Testament constantly challenges all believers to serve! Jesus set the example by serving us first! Reflection: Are you living like Jesus? Are you serving others with the gifts God has given you? Church is the best place to start. Let the Holy Spirit lead you into a life of joyful service. Why Church? Fellowship
This week, we continue our “Why Church?” series by focusing on the power and purpose of fellowship. From the early church in Acts to the Spirit-filled community we’re called to today, God has always intended for His people to walk together. Fellowship isn’t optional—it’s foundational. Key Scriptures: Acts 2:42–47 1 John 1:6–7 Deuteronomy 7:6–7 Matthew 18:20 2 Corinthians 13:14 1 Corinthians 15:33 Main Points (as delivered): God has always intended to bring his people together! God wants fellowship with you! God never intended for us to make this journey alone! You will find fellowship somewhere! Reflection:Do you really trust Jesus with your relationships? Are you willing to surrender your social circles to follow Him more closely? Let this message challenge and encourage you to commit to true, Christ-centered fellowship. Why Church?: Worship
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Series: Why Church? | Week 1 Introduction: Many people question the importance of church. This series explores why church matters—starting with worship. Today’s focus: Worship as preparation for eternity. Scripture References: John 16:5–9 – Jesus promises the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:1–4, 41 – The Holy Spirit comes and the Church is born. John 18:20 – Jesus worshiped publicly. Matthew 5:31–32 – Jesus came for the spiritually sick. Revelation 5:11–14; 7:11 – Heaven is filled with corporate worship. Main Points: You Can Never Replace Personal Worship Personal worship is vital and affects corporate worship. You can feel close to God in nature, but that doesn’t replace gathering with others. Jesus Led by Example Jesus regularly worshiped in synagogues and the temple. He never asked us to do anything He didn’t do Himself. You Can’t Replace Corporate Worship Church is God’s design for believers to grow, serve, and worship together. It’s not about perfection—it’s about surrender and transformation. Church prepares us for eternity. Heaven Is Described with Corporate Worship Revelation shows heaven as a place of unified, eternal worship. If we desire heaven, we should desire worship with others now. Closing: Worship in church is a glimpse of what’s to come. Church is preparation for eternity. If church feels unappealing, it may reflect a heart issue. Pray for surrender—yours and others’. Prodigal Son: Be Humble and Rejoice
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Introduction: Final week of the Prodigal Son series. Focus: The older brother’s reaction and the importance of humility and joy. The Father celebrates the return of the lost son, but the older brother refuses to join. Scripture:Luke 15:11–32 Main Points: The Unfaithful Son Was Celebrated The younger son sinned, squandered his inheritance, and returned in brokenness. The Father (God) forgave and celebrated him—not because he deserved it, but because He could. Forgiveness and restoration are God’s to give, not ours to withhold. We must not let our sense of justice override God’s mercy. The Faithful Son Was Uncelebrated The older brother kept score and felt overlooked. Faithfulness doesn’t always come with immediate recognition or reward. Our reward is eternal, not earthly. True humility accepts God’s mercy for others, even when we don’t understand it. Celebrate with Joy The older brother obeyed out of obligation, not joy. When our hearts align with God’s, we celebrate what He celebrates. Spirit-filled living leads to joyful obedience, not resentment. A true child of God rejoices when the lost are found. Closing: Be humble. Rejoice when others return to the Father—because that is His will. Luke 15:31 – “Everything I have is yours.” God sees your faithfulness and will reward you in His time. Prodigal Son: A Win is a Win
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Introduction: Week 2 of the Prodigal Son series. Last week: God desires our return. This week: Even if the return isn’t perfect, a win is still a win. Scripture:Luke 15:11–32 Main Points: Things Get Worse Before They Get Better The younger son dishonors his father, leaves home, and lives in sin. Sin leads to destruction and despair (Proverbs 14:12). God allows us to experience the consequences of our choices to bring us back. People Are Naturally Selfish—Even With God The son returns not out of love, but out of desperation. Many of us come to God for selfish reasons—but that’s okay. Over time, love and relationship grow from that decision. A win is a win—even if it starts messy. The Father Doesn’t Care—He Just Wants You Home The father runs to the son before he says a word. God celebrates our return, no matter how broken or selfish it may seem. Confession is still important (1 John 1:9)—saying it out loud brings healing and clarity. Closing: Pray for the win! Zephaniah 3:17–20: God rejoices over us and restores us. Jesus has already won—we share in His victory. It may not look perfect, but if someone returns to God, it’s a win. Galatians 4a (5-28-25)
Today Paul continues his message from chapter 3 as he is warning the Galatians of how dangerous it is to try to live by the Law of Moses. Join us as we talk more about what it means to be a true child of God and how important it is to put Jesus first in all things.
Galatians 3b (5-21-25)
Welcome back as Paul gives us great advice on what is to be done with the Law of Moses. If put first it condemns us. If we keep Christ first, it is beneficial and helps us. Join us as we learn where this Law fits into our walks with Christ.
Prodigal Son: Returning
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Sermon Title: Prodigal Son – ReturningSeries: The Prodigal Son | Week 1Occasion: Father’s Day Introduction: Launching a new series on the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32). The word “prodigal” originally meant “one who returns.” The father in the parable shows great faith by letting his son go, hoping he would return. Scripture:Luke 15:11–32 Main Points: Sin Brings Poor Decisions and Difficult Circumstances The younger son’s request was selfish and dishonorable. He squandered his inheritance in wild living and ended up in desperation. Galatians 6:7–8 – We reap what we sow. Sin affects not only the sinner but also those around them. God Will Turn You Loose The father (representing God) allows the son to leave and make his own choices. God doesn’t force anyone to stay—He honors our free will. Isaiah 53:6 – We all, like sheep, have gone astray. Sometimes people must be allowed to feel the weight of life without God. God Will Let You Taste What You Ask For The son had to experience the full consequences of his choices before he could return. God allows us to feel the emptiness of sin so we’ll long for His presence. Heaven is not for those who reject God—it’s for those who return to Him. Closing: If God can’t bring them back, what makes you think you can? God wants us to come back. The story of the Prodigal Son is the story of all humanity—starting in Genesis 3. Don’t be afraid to let go of someone you love. Trust that God is able to bring them back. Dealing With Conflict: God Can Use Evil for Good
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Introduction: Final week of the “Dealing With Conflict” series. Recap: Conflict is unavoidable, should be private (within reason), and we must remain faithful through it. Today’s focus: God can use even evil or painful situations for good. Scripture: Acts 15:36–41 (Paul and Barnabas’ sharp disagreement) Main Points: God Can Use Discouragement to Bring About Passion Paul and Barnabas’ split led to the Gospel spreading in two directions. Personal testimony: God uses transitions and separations to expand His Kingdom. Psalm 119:71 – Suffering teaches us to pay attention to God’s ways. Discouragement can fuel a deeper passion for doing what’s right. God Can Use Division to Bring About Unity Though divided over John Mark, Paul and Barnabas remained united in Christ. Hebrews 12:14–15 – Work for peace and guard against bitterness. Healthy conflict, when handled biblically, can strengthen relationships and unity. God Can Use Failure to Bring About Restoration John Mark failed early but was later restored and became valuable to Paul. 2 Timothy 4:9–11 & Colossians 4:10 – Paul requests Mark’s presence and affirms his ministry. Never write someone off—God can redeem and restore anyone. Closing: God can use anything—good or bad—for His glory and your growth. There was no clear “winner” in the conflict between Paul and Barnabas—both had valid perspectives. Let Jesus define you, not your conflict. Galatians 3a (5-14-25)
As we start chapter 3, Paul moves forward in his tactics from defending his Apostleship to bringing his focus on defending the Gospel. The Law is good, but Jesus is better. The Law should not be discarded, but it cannot be first.
Galatians 2b (5-7-25)
Welcome back as we finish chapter two as Paul continues to defend his Apostleship and the Message of the Gospel. Today we will talk about Paul confronting Peter in front of the church of Antioch. This ongoing issue of Jewish and Gentile Christians had to be dealt with. Paul is simply using previous examples to bring the churches of Galatia back to truth!
Galatians 2a (4-30-25)
Welcome back as Paul continues to defend his Apostleship and the Message of the Gospel to all the churches in Galatia. There are some tense dynamics that we will dig further into as Paul continues to talk about his calling and affirmation from the other Apostles.
Galatians 1b (4-23-25)
Welcome back as we continue in the book of Galatians as Paul tries to bring these churches back to the original message of the Gospel.
Dealing With Conflict: Conflict Should Be Private (Within Reason)
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Introduction: Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you to all the mothers for your special calling. Week two of dealing with conflict; encouragement to handle conflict well. James 1:2-3: Consider troubles as opportunities for growth. Scripture: Acts 15:36-41 Matthew 18:15-17 (Correcting Another Believer) Points: Don’t try to win: Winning involves rules, audiences, and referees, making conflicts public. Winning can lead to resentment and is a worldly mentality. Philippians 2:3-4: Be humble and think of others as better than yourselves. Aim for peace, love, and restoration instead of winning. Don’t pick sides: Avoid being dragged into others’ conflicts as a referee or audience. Encourage private resolution first, as per Matthew 18:15-17. If needed, involve 1-2 unbiased, mature believers to help resolve the issue. 1 Corinthians 1:10: Live in harmony and avoid divisions. Don’t get distracted: Conflict is not the most important thing; focus on the mission and calling. Paul and Barnabas disagreed but continued their ministry separately. Understand that sometimes moving past unresolved conflict is necessary for the greater mission. Closing: Luke 17:3-4: Forgive repeatedly if there is repentance. Serious conflicts need resolution; follow Matthew 18:15-17. Aim for peace, unity, and forgiveness. Dealing With Conflict: Conflict is Unavoidable
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Introduction: Conflict is inevitable, regardless of how good, nice, passive, or godly you are. This month, we focus on conflict through a passage in Acts. Conflict can arise unexpectedly and must be handled appropriately. Scripture: Acts 15:36-41 Points: Relationships are prone to conflict: Close relationships have more opportunities for conflict. Paul and Barnabas were close friends and ministry partners. Colossians 3:13-15: Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive. Conflict can arise out of nowhere: John Mark’s abandonment became an issue years later. Christians must prepare to deal with conflict. James 1:19-20: Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Even Christians will disagree: Paul and Barnabas, respected leaders, had a sharp disagreement. Conflict is common among Christians, even in church settings. James 3:17: Wisdom from above is peace-loving and gentle. Closing: Proverbs 15:1, Proverbs 12:18: Respond with gentle and wise words. Conflict is inevitable; be prepared to respond appropriately. How you handle conflict can be a powerful witness of your relationship with Christ. The Coming of a King: The Return of a King
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Introduction: Final sermon in the series on The Coming of a King. Focus on the return of Jesus and the importance of being ready. Addressing the temptation to doubt Jesus’ return due to its delay. Scripture: 2 Peter 3:9-10 Matthew 24:35-38 Luke 12:35-48 (Be Ready for the Lord’s Coming) Points: You must be ready: Belief in Jesus’ return is essential for readiness. Over 2,400 scriptures pertain to Jesus’ second coming, more than His first. Living in a way that reflects readiness for Jesus’ return. There will be punishments and rewards: Heaven isn’t communist; there will be varying punishments and rewards. Punishments for those who know and refuse, and lighter punishments for those who don’t know. Rewards for those who are ready, including greater responsibilities and Jesus serving them. Jesus has expectations for you: Much will be required from those given much. Salvation should lead to a transformed life with purpose and calling. Living a Christian life should be impactful and fulfilling. Closing: Luke 17:22-24, 31: The return of Jesus will be unexpected, and we must be prepared. The importance of being ready for Jesus’ return, whether it happens in our lifetime or not. Reflect on the calling to be ready and live a life that honors Jesus. Galatians 1a Intro (4-16-24)
Welcome back as we begin the book of Galatians. Today we will have an introduction to this amazing epistle as we talk about some needed background information and cover verses 1-5 as Paul gives his typical greeting.
The Coming of a King: What a King Should Be
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Happy Easter! Join us for “What a King Should Be,” the third message in our series, “The Coming of a King.” We’re exploring the timeless question: are we seeking the King God intended, or one of our own making? Today, we tackle a fundamental question that echoes through history and into our own lives: What kind of King do we truly desire, and are we willing to accept the King that God has provided? From the Israelites demanding a king “like the nations” to the Palm Sunday crowds seeking a political savior, the human tendency is to define God’s King on our terms. Drawing heavily from Hebrews 10:1-19, we examine the limitations of the old covenant sacrifices – a system that could only remind people of their sins without offering true cleansing. We see the contrast with the perfect sacrifice of Jesus, who came to do God’s will and provide a permanent solution for sin and separation from God. In this message, we explore three key points: Abandon what’s not working! (Hebrews 10:1-4) – Recognizing the futility of temporary fixes and cycles of guilt. What is God’s will? (Hebrews 10:5-14) – Understanding that God’s ultimate desire is for our holiness through the finished work of Christ. Our King fixes things! (John 3:17, Hebrews 10:16-19) – Embracing the truth that Jesus came to save and make all things right, writing God’s law on our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the King who serves, who sacrificed, and whose kingdom is eternal and perfect. He is exactly what a King should be. The call today is to surrender to Him not just as Savior, but as King, embracing the journey of holiness and confident relationship with God that His sacrifice makes possible. Scripture References covered in this sermon: Hebrews 10:1-19 John 3:17 Philippians 2:6-11 Listen and be challenged to abandon what’s not working and embrace the King who fixes everything! Sermon: The Coming of a King – God’s Original Intent Introduction: Easter is approaching; we celebrate our risen King. Series focus: The Coming of a King and God’s original intent. Human sin often involves perverting God’s good intentions. Scripture: 1 Samuel 8:1-9 (Israel Requests a King) 1 Samuel 8:10-22 (Samuel Warns against a Kingdom) Points: God always intended for Israel to have a King: Israel’s desire for a king wasn’t wrong, but it was premature. God intended for Israel to be a spiritual kingdom first. 1 Peter 2:9-10: We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood. The people wanted a king like the other nations: Israel wanted a king to be like other nations, missing God’s greater plan. Isaiah 55:8-9: God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. Israel’s desire for a king led them to miss out on God’s full potential for them. God was supposed to be their King: Only God could be the holy and righteous king for Israel. Exodus 19:4-6: Israel was meant to be God’s special treasure and holy nation. 1 Samuel 8:7-8: Israel’s request for a king was a rejection of God. What the people wanted would cost them: Israel’s desire for a king would lead to significant sacrifices. 1 Samuel 8:20: The people wanted a king to judge and lead them into battle. God’s warnings about the cost of a king were ignored by the people. Closing: God is the King we follow and the Kingdom we belong to. Israel’s impatience led them away from God’s original intent. Don’t follow people; follow God and wait on Him. Joseph’s journey shows how God uses trials to shape and prepare us. Closing: Never give up; keep fighting the good fight. God reveals everything; He has no reason to hide anything. Sermon: The Life of Joseph – God’s Plan Unfolds (The Light at the End) Introduction: Week 4 of the Life of Joseph series. Recap of Joseph’s pain and misfortunes. Today’s focus: Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Scripture: Genesis 41:1-17a Genesis 41:25-32 Genesis 41:37-40 (Joseph Made Ruler of Egypt) Points: God always reveals His plans: God never operates in secret; He gives us a heads-up on His plans. Major biblical events are always preceded by warnings or prophecies. Psalm 32:8-9: God guides us and gives us clarity. God reveals things to people who don’t follow Him: Sometimes God reveals His plans to those who do not serve Him. Genesis 41:25, 28: God revealed the future to Pharaoh. The Life of Joseph: The Pain Continues
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Sermon: The Life of Joseph – The Pain Continues Introduction: Week three of the Life of Joseph series. Recap of Joseph’s choice to be different and the pain he endured. Today’s focus: “The Pain Continues.” Scripture: Genesis 39:2-3 (Joseph in Potiphar’s house) Genesis 39:6c-15 (Falsely Accused) Genesis 39:19-23 (Joseph Put in Prison) Genesis 40:20-23 (Joseph interprets the dreams of the chief baker and the chief cup bearer) Points: Don’t be surprised at the insult to your injury: Trials and tribulations are rarely one-time events. Satan seeks to add insult to injury to turn us from the Lord. Remember that God can use our pain for our good and His glory. Don’t expect the pain to be over quickly: Biblical stories often span years, not just chapters. Joseph spent 13 years as a slave and prisoner before seeing light. Difficult circumstances can last longer than we expect. Stay faithful: Faithfulness is crucial during prolonged difficulties. Satan tries to break us, but God sustains us beyond our breaking point. Joseph’s faithfulness set the stage for God to use him powerfully. James 1:2-4: Consider it joy when facing trials, as they develop perseverance. Closing: Scripture calls us to be faithful through pain. How will you respond to your trials? The Life of Joseph – A Different Person
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. The Life of Joseph – A Different Person Introduction: Desire for God to use us in powerful ways. God is in the growing business, not the canning business. Focus on the life of Joseph over the next 5 weeks, exploring his journey and the cost of his gifts. Scripture: Genesis 37:2-11 Points: Joseph is the redeeming son of the family: Joseph is highlighted as the focus of Jacob’s family. Joseph’s brothers were disobedient and disrespectful, involved in various sinful acts (Genesis 34, 35:22, 38). Genesis 49:2-7: Jacob’s final blessings reveal the character of his sons. Joseph did not go with the flow: Joseph chose to stand against his brothers’ wickedness. Personal story of resisting peer pressure. Joseph’s integrity made him trustworthy to both his earthly and Heavenly Father. God gave Joseph a gift: Joseph was gifted with dreams and the ability to understand them. Gifts from God can be frustrating and require maturity to use appropriately. Joseph’s immaturity led him to share his dreams prematurely, causing tension with his brothers. There were immaturities in Joseph’s life: Joseph’s pride led him to share his dreams without understanding their full meaning. Jacob’s wisdom helped him ponder the significance of Joseph’s dreams. Closing: Read Genesis 37-50 to learn more about Joseph’s life. Do you want God to use you? Stand against the flow of the world. Choose righteousness over convenience.
