If you could had more self confidence, how will your life be different?There’s something about confidence that makes you feel unstoppable. And though weight loss CAN help people gain confidence, the beauty that comes with weight loss is the impact that it has on the person’s self-significance.Something that’s important to to distinguish is that just because a person lost weight, doesn’t necessarily mean that they will have more confidence.If achieving greater confidence is your objective you’ve got to make sure to do the following:Show up - confidence is a character trait. That means that it’s not something that falls on your lap. You have to follow through in order to achieve confidence. You can’t achieve follow through without showing up.Stick to your word - Confidence is a byproduct of trust. In order to feel more confidence in your skin it’s imperative that your body and being trusts you. Would you trust your partner if they went around chasing others? Your body and mind is no different. You can’t expect you to trust yourself if you don’t follow through with what you said you were gonna do. Like it or not, nobody has to know but either way, your subconsciously take notes and adds up the score wither way.Toughen up buttercup - Not in the sense of no pain no gain kinda toughen up but rather, become stronger by being a stream instead of a reservoir. Keeping in your emotions and showing one emotion doesn’t make you “strong and confident”. It makes you a robot. Emotions are one of the key ingredients that make us human. Shine bright and show your true colors. Ps. it’s ok to cry. Take responsibility - for everything. True confidence is created when you show that you’re human. Society may try to teach you to be perfect but the reality is that we’re not. Most people cut themselves short by avoiding confronting their excuses because they’re so concerned about being perfect. QUESTION 1“Recovering from a fractured arm, what should I do with my good arm?”This will be based on preference… Option 1:Avoid upper body training, for now, to not develop compensation that will take away from symmetry. Long term, if you want to focus on longevity and symmetry, this could be detrimental. Option 2:If you still want to train your upper body and you’re ok with a little imbalance, you can train one side now and make the other side stronger when it’s healed. Also, there have been studies that show training one side has some physical benefit from the other side. It all goes what it is that you’re looking for with your workout. Lower body and core training are very much options at this point. Squats, lunges, step ups, glute bridges, walking uphill, running (unless painful), situps, etc.QUESTION 2I’m a sugar addict. How do I get over this without total denial of sugar sweet treats? When I deny myself, I then swing into binge eating sweets. There has to be a solution besides all or nothing.”Rather than saying, “I am _(what you don’t want)_”, we’d recommend changing it to something like “I am currently struggling with ______)” you detach your identity from the struggle. It makes it temporary to your subconscious.This is a two-step process:1) Become aware of detaching your identity from your struggle and from that identity, 2) Turn it into something you’re actively working on changing or overcome Take small steps instead of trying to go from 0 to 100. Think about it as climbing a staircase instead of taking the elevator because that’s how you learn. Go through a process that will give you mental maturity so you can sustain the changes over time. The magic happens in the process. Not relying on sugar is a mental skill, and your body will fight you initially. So be diligent about it and focus on progress over perfection. Week 1: Track and become awareWeek 2: Reduce by 10%Week 3: Reduce by 10%It’s not about cutting it out completely.QUESTION 3“What happens when the few friends you have are just like you! It is really lonely at the top. All your relations are focused on this treat heavy lifestyle?“Your friends are a choice. The truth is, we often think we need to have these friends because we’ve always had them, but we can change… We can change our routines, our career path, the people we hang out with… Are they really a friend if they always discourage you on what you’re trying to do? Maybe this is worth having a conversation but if that’s the way they choose to be then what’s the way you will choose to be? Connect with people who will make the path easy for you, not harder. Connection is currency, and your network will determine your worth. Did you know that the weight loss industry has a 95% failure rate?If you want to make this year the year that has transformed your body and life it’s important that you do a practice called goal setting.While there are many ways to do it and every expert and guru might have a different way where they teach you to set goals, setting the goals is actually the easy part.In today’s episode we share with you how to actually reach your goals once you’ve set them.You do not need to be a rocket scientist to make it happen. You just need to follow these 4 steps:1. Find significance - why is reaching that goal important anyway? And if it is important, how important is it in relation to other things. Your success journey is an uphill battle and if you’re not connected to the importance of your goal, it’s natural to want to quit. 2. Have a great Attitude - The higher you want to achieve the more that’s going to be required of you, which is a challenge. In order to move ahead you’ve got to persevere. In order to persevere you’ve got to have a great attitude no matter how hard the road gets.3. Take Action (consistently) - Achieving anything remarkable requires work. The higher you want to achieve, the more work that’s gonna be required of you. Hate to break it to you but slogans like “drink your way to slim” or take this pill and you’ll melt your fat away may be great gimmicks but they won’t take you very far.4. Strategy - The approach that you take matters. When executing your strategy make sure it's sustainable, realistic and in alignment with your goals, needs and preferences.
