In Northeastern Ohio, there’s a place that has a reputation for cryptid sightings. That place is Atwater Township. Atwater Township is in Portage County and is surrounded by miles and miles of woods and swamps. Tonight’s guest, Melanie, grew up in Northeastern Ohio and when she was a kid, she used to spend her days exploring the woods and swamps around her home. After her mom would lace up her tennis shoes and send her out the door, she’d stay out until she had to come home for dinner. Wanting to pass her love of nature on to her grandkids, she used to take them on what she called deer rides, through the country, around dusk. One evening, while taking her granddaughter for a deer ride, they encountered a creature that they didn’t even know existed. On September 12th, of 2019 at 4:55 AM, tonight’s guest, Kevin Tapaha, was walking to work, down a dark road, in Cascade County, Montana. Suddenly, he heard something moving in the gravel, up ahead. He knew that normally, no one would be walking down that dark road but him, at that time of the early morning, so he didn’t think it was a person. The nearest streetlight was a good distance away, so when he was finally able to see movement ahead, it was hard for him to tell what it was. At first, he thought it was a deer and then, moments later, he thought it was a huge dog. Unfortunately, though, it wouldn’t be long before he realized that it wasn’t a huge dog. It was a creature out of his worst nightmares and it wasn’t long, after that, before it focused its full attention on him! In 1997, tonight’s guest, Tori, decided to take her daughter on a week-long vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. What should have been a fun, relaxing vacation turned out to be anything but, thanks to a Dogman that decided to make its presence known, on the night they arrived there. Tonight’s guest, Chuy, is a full-time pastor who lives in Twin Falls, Idaho, in an area called The Magic Valley. While the area where he lives is beautiful, a lot of strange, frightening things happen there. Twin Falls lies right next to the rim of a huge, deep canyon and the deepest part of that huge canyon is called Hell’s Canyon. While strange, frightening things happen in the area around Twin Falls, most of the strange activity happens in Hell’s Canyon. Hell’s Canyon is actually where Chuy had his first Dogman encounter. The night he had his encounter, he thought he was in the clear when he made it to his truck and drove out of the canyon. Unfortunately, though, his problems were just starting. One night, when tonight’s guest, Michele, was a kid, growing up in rural Arizona, she was at an outdoor family celebration, with a lot of her Navajo family members. In Ohio, there’s a valley called Sleepy Hollow where locals say a lot of strange things happen. People have reported seeing strange creatures there, as well. I had scheduled “Brad,” from Episode 334, to come on tonight’s show and answer questions about his Dogman hunt, but He backed out of coming back on, due to the responses he saw listeners give, after listening to Episode 334. The Pocomoke State Forest is 18,000 acres in size and lies on both banks of the Pocomoke River, in Worcester County, Maryland. For a long time, the forest has had a reputation for being haunted. In fact, the Pocomoke is considered to be one of the top 15 most haunted forests in the world. As if that wasn’t bad enough, some locals say that a Werewolf stalks the forest. Most of the people who live near the forest think the talk of a Werewolf living there is ridiculous, of course, but tonight’s guest, Matt, would beg to differ. You see, 20 years ago, after heading to the Pocomoke, before dawn, to hunt, with two friends, Matt found out the hard way that where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. Tonight’s guest, “Brad,” was featured on Episode 268, and in that show, he told us about the Dogman encounter he had in Southern California. If you listened to that show, you might remember how Brad expressed an interest in trying to hunt and kill a Dogman. You also might remember that I attempted to dissuade him from trying to do that. Well, unfortunately, Brad didn’t take my advice and because of that, he had an encounter that, in his words, scared him to death! You see, last August, Brad went out with a Marine named Mark and a man named John, who is a champion match-shooter, specializing in long-distance shooting. Mark had a Dogman encounter of his own before they went on that hunt, so he knew they were real. John was skeptical because he hadn’t seen one. That was all about to change. To make sure they’d be prepared for anything that might happen, or so they thought, they took some formidable firepower with them. It wasn’t long before they found out that they had made several huge mistakes, though. One of those mistakes was thinking that the .416 Rigby they took was going to be able to easily take down an alpha Dogman. Another, even more dangerous, mistake was not considering the fact the alpha might not be alone when they shot him. What happened? Why did a self-described adrenaline junkie, like Brad, become so shaken that he thought he was going to have a heart attack? We hope you’ll tune in and find out. Happy Halloween, everyone! For this special, Halloween episode of Dogman Encounters, we’re going to do something different. Instead of airing a normal show, tonight’s show isn’t going to be an interview. Instead of interviewing tonight’s guest, I’m just going to air her sharing the details of encounters she and her family members have had on a large property they own. You see, the property where their encounters happened has been owned by her family for 30 to 40 years. They use the land for farming, hunting, and other things. Tonight’s guest, Christyne Anne, has had 4 Dogman encounters. The 1st 2 happened when she was growing up, in West Virginia. The last 2 happened after she had grown up and was living in Arizona. If you’re ever in the woods and happen to see a Dogman pup, don’t make the mistake tonight’s guest, Paul, made and approach it! Paul, a new construction builder, from Ontario, Canada, was scoping out a remote, undeveloped land parcel, in the summer of 2018, when he had the misfortune of stumbling upon a Dogman pup. Unfortunately, he made the decision to approach it and that’s when it let out a distress call. When it did that, the fact that Paul had made a potentially life-threatening mistake was made perfectly clear to him. He found out the hard way that the pup wasn’t alone. Near Harker Heights, Texas, which isn’t too far from Killeen is a lake called Stillhouse Hollow Lake. If you ever go there, it would be in your best interest to stay alert. You see, like in many other parts of Texas, there’s a healthy population of wild hogs around Stillhouse Hollow Lake. As tonight’s guest, Heath, found out the hard way, though, that wild hogs aren’t the only thing there you need to watch out for. That’s because he had 4 encounters with what he once thought were Werewolves there, at that lake. Heath heard through the grapevine that there was good fishing to be had there. Being the avid fisherman that he is, though, he had caught every kind of fish the lake was known to have except one, alligator gar. Heath had never caught an alligator gar before. In 1981, a large military exercise was held at Fort Polk, in Louisiana. 6 or 7 different Army Divisions were in attendance for the exercise. While that exercise was going on, tonight’s guest, “Big Mo,” had a very intense Dogman encounter. At the time of his encounter, “Mo” was with his 1st Sergeant. A man who had a well-deserved reputation for being ill-tempered and quick to reprimand soldiers serving under him. Due to the severity of their encounter, the 1st Sergeant’s demeanor changed. After the encounter, he was much easier going and actually pleasant to be around. What happened that was so severe that it would cause those changes in the 1st Sergeant? Tonight’s guest, Bradley, had an encounter with a Dogman between the towns of Lobie Coldstone and Tarland, in Scotland. The area where his encounter happened is at the beginning of the Scottish Highlands, going into the Cairngorms. He describes the area as being beautiful, with tons of Scottish Heather, beautiful forests, and lots of wildlife. Locals call that area God’s country, because of the beauty there. Unfortunately, though, one night, Bradley and his father found out that not everything in that area is beautiful. Tonight's 1st guest, Ryan Tremblay, lives near the Mogollon Rim, in Arizona. The area around the Mogollon Rim is where eyewitnesses have reported seeing what locals call the Mogollon Monster. The appellation "Mogollon Monster" refers to Sasquatch that live in the area. If one of the locals happens to see a Sasquatch there, they normally say that they saw the Mogollon Monster. Well, apparently, at least 1, other kind of cryptid stalks that area, as well. Ryan found that out the hard way when he found himself 15 feet from a hyena-type Dogman, one night. Tonight’s guest, Cody Richardson, had his 1st Dogman encounter when he was 10 years old. It happened not long after he moved, with his mom and sister, into a remote home, in rural Southern Oregon. Tonight’s guest, “J” lives on a rural property, in Davidson, North Carolina and had her 1st Dogman encounter when she was 15. Since then, she’s had numerous encounters at the several properties where she’s lived, since she had that 1st one, years ago. One of the strangest encounters involved “J” and her mother seeing baby Dogmen playing in the bushes, behind her house. In an attempt to get help with her Dogman problem, she contacted a paranormal team and requested that they come out and research the area around her home. Unfortunately, though, after agreeing to help her, the team backed out after saying that they were concerned about their safety.
