Director J.J. The crowds that never materialized at Disneyland for Galaxy’s Edge certainly did over in Florida. The attraction itself appears to be living up to its rumored greatness. Lin-Manuel Miranda was the guest narrator this year. There was concern that the ceremony could be rained out, but luckily that didn’t happen. First, the good news: Haunted Mansion Holiday has been extended until January 21st, 2020 while its a small world undergoes its transformation back to the non-holiday overlay. Now, the bad news: The Haunted Mansion will be down for months after the holiday version closes for a lengthy refurbishment. On Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th, two performances per evening will take place. The estimated times for the ceremony are 5:20pm and 7:35pm. Brian Crosby, Martin Hsu, Steph Laberis and Jerrod Maruyama will be at the Wonderground Gallery on Saturday from 11am-1pm. This time, there are four themed nights. 80’s night at Dinseyland will be on January 29th, Sweethearts night at Disneyland will be on February 12th and 13th, Pixar night will be at California Adventure on March 5th, and finally Villains Night will also be at DCA on April 30th. Tickets are $109 per person, per event. All nights except Pixar night will run 9pm-1am with early entry starting at 6pm. The planter areas that are currently grass will be replaced with some colorful flowers and given some height. The Dueling Pianos show, titled “The Showdown at the Golden Horseshoe,” premiered this week. The show combines musical theater, improv and storytelling along with music in classical, ragtime and country & western styles. The new decor includes more than 200 UV glow trees, lit up in shades of blue, green, yellow, orange, and pink. The trees range in size from as little as 4 feet, up to an impressive 15 feet. The trees have no decorations on them, but are accompanied by 70 glow rings that hang from the large trees in Downtown Disney. A new Jango Fett stein is available at the Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland. The stein is the signature helmet of Jango, sporting the blue coloring. The stein is priced at $13.99 and includes coffee, hot tea, or beverage at the time of purchase. Street Party with mariachi and samba music and folklórico dancers and 12-foot-tall mojiganga puppets of Santa and Mrs. Claus! News: After long last, most of the entrance to Tomorrowland is free and clear of the “french fry” rocks that were installed with the last refurbishment to the land, back in 1998. The crowd flow is greatly improved when the park is busier, such as around the parade and fireworks. Permits filed with the city of Anaheim state that work will include steel work to replace the centerpiece of the attraction, the bridge. Other details, such as dates and other work to be completed has not been announced. The first beverage, called “Jingle all the Way”, and contains Fernet Branca, Kahlua, lime juice, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. “Peppermint Barks” is a mix of El Dorado 8-Year Rum, Rumple Minze Peppermint Schnapps, ginger syrup, lemon juice, Coco Real cream of coconut, and pomegranate juice, and is topped with mint leaves and a candy cane garnish. No guests were harmed in the incident, but the attraction is closed until further notice. Reports online state that the attraction was intended to always have a cast member posted at the bridge for guest safety, but that had been cut a few years ago. Each batch is 40 to 45 candy canes and there are three batches produced on the days they are scheduled. The two locations are the Candy Palace in Disneyland, and Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure. It is recommended to arrive to the resort 30-45 minutes prior to opening to get a wristband that is good for one candy cane. Only one wristband is given to each guest, up to 40 per batch. You can return anytime between the batch time that you are given and 4pm. If you do not pick up your candy cane by 4pm, it will be sold to another guest. The permit lists $445,000 in changes to the attraction that would include removing and replacing show sets, installing new structural beams, refurbish rock work and upgrade some electrical. News: After all of the outrage online about the $3 swap fee coming to the Fuel Rods at Disneyland, the company and Disney have announced that there will not be a fee to swap the chargers for a fresh one. It was his daughters 5th birthday. Also, buttons promoting The Little Mermaid live musical on ABC were available outside of the Little Mermaid attraction in DCA this week ahead of the showing.
