Every Pride Month, the ideology of identitarianism encroaches further into Latter-day Saint culture. Charlie Bird's decision to marry his boyfriend brings many of the problems and confusion on this topic into focus. Pride Month lifts lesser identities above being a Child of God. The Brethren have given some clear guidance on the conflict between the gospel and these pernicious ideologies, such as identitarianism and intersectionality, but you must look for it. I have no horse in this race. But many do. Where did the Book of Mormon take place? The academic model is the Meso-American model. But there is a growing belief in what has become known as the Heartland model which states that the Book of Mormon took place in the Eastern United States. According to scholar Jonathan Neville, one of the thought leaders of the Heartland Model, if we simply listen to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, we would have to take a closer look at this model. Is there "gatekeeping" going on at Book of Mormon Central (Scripture Central)? Key to the Heartland Model is the location of Cumorah. The Meso-American Model has the Hill Cumorah in Meso-America. BYU has an Antiracism project. As one of its goals, it is building a database of antiracism resources for BYU faculty to use for teaching their college students. It is essentially a hard-left, Marxian stew of the most prominent actors in Critical Race Theory and antiracism. Social media and new helicopter parenting effects may be the primary culprits of skyrocketing mental health issues among Gen Z.
