Killer Clown Guns Down Young Mom Answering Door: Why is The Suspect Now Walking Free?

Marlene Warren opens her front door to flowers and balloons. No one expects the gunshots that follows. Now, the woman who investigators say dressed as that clown, killing her lover's wife, is out of jail.  Prosecutors say that Sheila Keen-Warren, knocked on Marlene Warren’s door  dressed as a clown, holding flowers and balloons, and shot Warren in the face. Marlene Warren's husband was Shelia Keen's lover. In fact, Keen later marries the used car dealer and moves with him to Virginia During the investigation, police found red wig fibers and DNA in the getaway car, a white Chrysler LeBaron. It has been reported stolen for Michael Warren’s used car lot a month earlier.    Employees at a Publix supermarket — the only store in the area that sold the “You’re the Greatest” balloon the killer gave to Marlene Warren — said a person matching Keen-Warren’s description bought such a balloon from him. And employees at a store that sold clown costumes tentatively identified Keen-Warren as the woman who bought a clown outfit and a wig from their store. it was years before an arrest was made.  Now Assistant State Attorney Reid Scott tells a judge that Keen-Warren, 59, pleaded guilty “because she is guilty,” but her attorney, Greg Rosenfeld, disputed that after the sentencing hearing, which was squeezed in during a lunch break of another murder trial. Rosenfeld said plenty of innocent people plead guilty.   Circuit Judge Scott Suskauer accepted Sheila Keen-Warren’s plea in exchange for a 12 year prison sentence — with credit for the five and a half years she’s been jailed since her 2017 arrest. Keen-Warren  has maintained her innocence even after her plea, Joining Nancy Grace today: Kirk Nurmi - Jodi Arias former attorney & author of "Trapped with Ms. Arias"  Dr. Angela Arnold - Psychiatrist, Atlanta Ga Jeff Cortese - Former FBI Special Agent Dr. Katherine Maloney - Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, Erie County Medical Examiners office, Buffalo, New York Levi Page - Investigative reporter, CrimeOnline  George Schiro - Lab director at Scales Biological Laboratory Inc.      Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

FITNESS-MOM MISSY BEVERS BLUDGEONED DEAD IN CREEKSIDE: Unsolved

Missy Bevers arrives at Creekside Church at 4:16 am and begins setting up for her 5 am fitness class. She doesn't realize that someone else is in the building. Video surveillance shows a person dressed in full police SWAT tactical gear walking through the halls of the church with an unusual gait while clutching a hammer.   Shortly before 5 am, one of Bevers' students arrives, finding Bevers's body inside the church.  Bevers has puncture wounds to her head and chest. The student calls 911. In minutes, police and rescue arrive, and Missy Bevers is pronounced dead on the scene.  Creekside church has surveillance cameras inside and out of their property. MUSALO MURDERS UNSOLVED: COUPLE MURDERED IN OWN HOME

Albert Musalo and his wife, Joan Behrman, are enjoying retirement in Nevada. They moved close to their daughter, Joanne Kohls, and her family, settling in the exclusive gated Montreux neighborhood in a rural area south of Reno. While the country club community boasts multi-million-dollar homes, the Musalos chose one of the more modest houses on the block. Joanne Kohls calls the Musalos’ landline, but the phone rings with no answer. She contacts Montreux’s security to check on them. The guard reports that no one answered his knocking. Joanne and her husband decide to check on her parents themselves. Joanne unlocks the front door and calls out for her parents. She steps inside but freezes. Mud is tracked through the entryway and dining room. Joanne’s husband walks toward the primary bedroom and discovers Joan and Albert shot to death in their bed. Detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office quickly arrive at the scene. There are no signs of forced entry, and nothing of value appears to be missing. Montreux's HOA fees cover an extensive security team. A guard staffs the neighborhood’s front gatehouse 24/7, 365 days a year, while a service entrance is manned 12 hours daily. All visitors must provide identification and receive homeowner approval for access. Even contract workers must obtain daily entrance passes. Jody LeCornu and her boyfriend argue, leading to a suggested separation. Her boyfriend asks Jody not to come home that night. After work, the 23-year-old decides to go out with friends to a favorite hangout, the Mt. Washington Tavern. At closing, LeCornu drives a tavern employee home, then stops at an ATM to withdraw money. In the early morning hours on York Road in Baltimore, a white BMW pulls up close to Jody's car, and a man gets out. Jody rolls down her window, and a brief exchange takes place. At 3:40 a.m., the man fires a .38-caliber handgun through the back left passenger window of Jody's car. The bullet strikes her back, severing her spine. As Jody LeCornu flees for her life, the gunman follows closely in the white BMW. Eyewitnesses at the Giant Supermarket and a person making a delivery to Boston Market hear the gunshot and see Jody driving across York Road into the Giant parking lot. She circles the parking lot and coasts to a stop after hitting a curb between the Boston Market and Firestone Tire and Service Center. Witnesses describe the shooter as a Black male, 5'10" to 6'1", around 220 pounds, wearing a green fatigue-style coat. He gets out, reaches into Jody's car, puts it in park, and takes her purse and cell phone before leaving the scene in his white BMW. The time is 3:41 a.m., and witnesses call 911. MYSTERIOUS CASH APP RANSOM NOTE FOR MISSING TEXAS BEAUTY: WHERE IS KALIE?

Kalie Goodwin tells a friend that she’s planning to stay in Houston for a few days with a new  acquaintance called “Country.” Kalie says she doesn’t know him very well, but is looking forward to spending a few days in the city. “Country” arrives to pick up Kalie around 7:00, so her friend says her goodbyes as she watches Kalie get in the passenger seat of a grey sedan.    The day after Kalie heads to Houston, mom Kaci Richardson, gets a call from an unknown number. When she picks up, a man says he has Kalie, and he’ll hurt her unless Kaci pays him $500, an amount he claims Kalie stole from his car. In the background, Kaci can hear Kalie crying and screaming for help—then she hears her daughter get hit... with something metal. Kalie cries out, “Help me mom! They’re beating me. My face is so deformed.”   Kaci can hear someone continuing to hit Kalie, and eventually the caller tells them to stop. The caller tells Kaci to send the money to a Cash App account “1007Owens,” but until they receive the transfer, they will continue to hurt Kalie. When they hang up, Kaci frantically tries to call Kalie, but she isn’t picking up the phone.    Unsure what to do, Kaci calls Baytown police and gives them every detail of the call. However, officers are not convinced Kalie is really in danger. They ask Kaci if Kalie is low on cash or using drugs, and while Kaci denies both theories, officers still believe Kalie might be trying to scam her for money, and tell her the ‘ransom’ phone call is likely an elaborate hoax. Kaci continues trying to get in touch with her daughter, but with no luck, reports Kalie missing the next day.     Joining Nancy Grace Today: Kaci Richardson,  Mother  Wendy Patrick -  California prosecutor, President and Founder of Black Swan Verdicts, Author:   "Red Flags: Frenemies, Underminers, and Ruthless People" wendypatrickphd.com, ‘Today with Dr Wendy’ on KCBQ in San Diego, Twitter: @WendyPatrickPHD, Caryn Stark  - Psychologist, renowned TV and Radio trauma expert and consultant, www.carynstark.com, Instagram: carynpsych, FB: Caryn Stark Private Practice  Brian Fitzgibbons  -  Director of Operations for USPA Nationwide Security,  uspasecurity.com, Instagram: @uspa_nationwide_security, Former. WILD DASH: BODYCAM AS COPS STORM TEEN’S HOME AFTER HER TERRIFIED 911 CALL

Rachel Hansen is well-known in the Gilbert community as a bona fide horse whisperer. At 14, Rachel teaches younger children to ride and breaks yearlings. She excels academically, is the only girl on the football team, and shines as a star soccer player. So accomplished, she graduates high school early at just 16. After graduating, Rachel runs a busy horse training business, AZ Hansen Horses, where she finds and breaks wild horses for clients. She also arranges to live and work as a trainer on a ranch in Queen Creek. While living and working on the ranch, Rachel's relationship with the owner begins to deteriorate. A payment dispute arises over a breeding deal involving Rachel's mare, Dash, and an accident while transporting horses damages a trailer. The owner informs Rachel she won't be paid for her final month of work and her services are no longer needed. Rachel removes her belongings from the property and plans to move into an apartment she's subletting to tenants the following week. Rachel moves some belongings into the apartment. Though still mostly empty, it’s enough for her to sleep there. She decides to spend the night. Around midnight, Rachel wakes to someone standing over her. She screams, and the intruder flees. It appears they had a key. Rachel's fiancé arrives quickly and replaces her lock with one from his father's house. He suggests calling the police, but Rachel believes the intruder simply didn’t realize the previous tenants had moved out. Just after 2 a.m., Rachel Hansen calls 911 and says, “Someone broke in and shot me.” The dispatcher gets Rachel's address and instructs her on how to stop the bleeding while police and paramedics are en route. Rachel says she doesn't have any cloth or towel nearby to use. The dispatcher notes Rachel is becoming less responsive and sounds close to passing out. The dispatcher also warns officers that the shooter has left the apartment but advises them to remain vigilant. GIRL-SCHOOL-SHOOTER'S DARK ONLINE LINKS TO SITE 'WATCH PEOPLE DIE,' ACCOMPLICE IDed?

A second grade teacher at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin calls 911 at 10:57 am to report an active shooter inside a study hall classroom at the private Christian school. Inside the study hall class, students from several different grades dive for cover as 15-year-old Natalie "Samantha" Rupnow,  is firing a 9mm handgun around the class.   She is a student at the school and commits suicide  before law enforcement breaches the building. No shots are exchanged.  Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes says identifying a motive is a top priority, but at this stage of the investigation it appears the motive was a combination of factors. A reported manifesto has been found, but  Barnes says they have not been able to verify its  authenticity. Police say Rupnow has been in texting with a 20 year old Carlsbad,California man,  planning his own mass attack.  After police discovered the message Alexander Paffendorf was interviewed by the FBI where he admitted  “that he told Rupnow that he would arm himself with explosives and a gun and that he would target a government building."  No specific building was named.  A  California judge has  issued a restraining order  under California’s gun red flag law.   The order requires Paffendorf to turn in  his guns and ammunition to police within 48 hours. Neighbors say police entered his home carrying out a big  "black gun box."  Joining Nancy Grace today: Philip Dubé  -  Former Court-Appointed Counsel, Los Angeles County Public Defenders: Criminal & Constitutional Law, Forensics & Mental Health Advocacy Angela Arnold  - Psychiatrist, Atlanta GA, AngelaArnoldMD.com, Expert in the Treatment of Pregnant/Postpartum Women, Former Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology: Emory University, Former Medical Director of The Psychiatric Ob-Gyn Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital, Voted My Buckhead’s Best Psychiatric Practice of  2022, 2023 and 2024. BRIDE IN WEDDING DRESS MOWED DOWN DEAD: DRUNK DRIVER SNIVELS 'GUILTY' IN COURT

Samantha Miller and her fiancé, Aric Hutchinson, spent the night celebrating their wedding. When the newlyweds left the reception, a speeding car struck the golf cart they were riding in. Police say Jamie Komoroski was driving 65 mph in a 25 mph zone. Bride Samantha Miller was killed. Jamie Lee Komoroski told officers at the scene that she was heading home when something hit her. However, her home was in the opposite direction. Komoroski admitted to drinking that night but refused to take a breathalyzer test. Komoroski, 25, was charged with three counts of DUI with great bodily injury or death and reckless homicide. As Judge Deadra Jefferson prepared to begin jury selection for the trial, Jamie Lee Komoroski asked to change her plea from not guilty to guilty. She did not negotiate a plea deal, meaning the judge was not obligated to show leniency for sparing Miller’s family a trial. Judge Deadra Jefferson sentenced Komoroski to 25 years for reckless homicide, 15 years for two counts of DUI with great bodily injury, and 10 years for felony DUI. The sentences run concurrently, meaning Komoroski will serve 25 years in prison. She is now requesting her sentence be reduced. MISSING TEXAS MOM SUZANNE SIMPSON’S DNA ‘FOUND ON HUBBY’S SAW’

The arrest affidavit for Brad Simpson, accused of murdering his wife, provides a detailed timeline of his activities the day before he reported her missing. The husband and father spent the day running suspicious errands, some of them in front of his 5-year-old daughter. The day after neighbors overheard the Simpsons fighting, Brad Simpson’s truck filled and emptied as he drove around San Antonio. First, Simpson placed his phone in “lockdown mode,” preventing location tracking. Forced to rely on surveillance footage, police spotted Simpson’s truck at a grocery store at 12:33 a.m. The truck bed was empty except for an ice chest. The next morning, when Simpson took his daughter to school, two full white trash bags had been added to the bed. Later, when Simpson was seen at a Boerne Whataburger drive-thru more than an hour later, police observed a heavy-duty trash can and a firewood rack weighing down an object covered by a blue tarp. Law enforcement uncovered damning evidence that led a grand jury to indict Simpson not only for tampering with evidence but also for murder. Lab testing revealed Suzanne Simpson’s DNA on a reciprocating saw from Simpson’s toolbox. In his first court appearance, Brad Simpson wore red prisoner attire with his hands cuffed in front of him. He swayed back and forth in his swivel chair, speaking only to confirm his identity and converse with his attorney. Although the hearing was brief, Simpson was observed with what has been described as a sly grin. BLOODY AMBUSH ON 2 KANSAS MOMS; AUTOPSIES SHOW TORTURE?

The full autopsy reports on Veronica Butler and Jillian Kelley have been released. Both reports identify the cause of death as multiple sharp force trauma. The reports list a total of 30 wounds on each victim, including 9 stab wounds and 21 cuts. Many of Butler's wounds were consistent with defensive injuries. A police affidavit states that Tifany Adams allegedly made statements implicating herself in the deaths of Butler and Kelley. Investigators believe Butler and Kelley were lured to the location, arriving around 9:40 a.m. Officers found pools of blood, Butler’s glasses on the ground, and a broken hammer at the scene. Police believe the women were then forced into another vehicle. The probable cause affidavit contains extensive details, but the women’s causes of death were not initially disclosed. Their bodies were discovered in a cattle pasture leased by Tad Bert Cullum, the boyfriend of Tifany Adams. Cellphone data from three burner phones purchased by Adams helped narrow down the location. The phones first pinged near Butler's abandoned car, and the data later led police to the pasture. Officers found signs of digging. A hole, which had been refilled, contained the bodies of the two women. Investigators cite a custody battle over Butler’s two children as the motive. The custody dispute had lasted more than five years. Butler’s ex-partner, Wrangler Rickman, who is Adams’ son, had custody of the children. However, Rickman was confirmed to be in a rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma City at the time. Butler was allowed supervised visitation with her children every Saturday. According to her attorney, she was likely to gain unsupervised visitation in an upcoming hearing. The affidavit states, “Adams vehemently opposed this and went to great lengths to plan and purchase items used in Butler and Kelley’s murders.” It continues, “Adams, Cullum, Cole, and Cora were willing to kidnap and murder two victims to limit visitation for Butler.” Court documents also allege that Adams and her accomplices attempted to kill Butler in February. Adams, her boyfriend, and another couple reportedly drove to Butler’s home near Hugoton, Kansas, intending to kill her. A witness told investigators the plan was to throw an anvil through Butler’s windshield to make it appear as an accident, but Butler did not leave her home. State investigators retrieved data from Adams’ phone showing searches for terms such as “taser pain level,” “gun shops,” “prepaid cellular phones,” and “how to get someone out of their house.” According to the documents, Adams purchased five stun guns before the women disappeared. She also bought three prepaid burner phones from a nearby Walmart. All the burner phones stopped transmitting on the morning of the women’s disappearance. After the attack, the bodies were reportedly stored in a sealed freezer before being buried 4 to 8 feet underground. MARRIED WISCONSIN DAD FAKES DEATH, FLEES TO UZBEKI HOTTIE, BUSTED

Ryan Borgwardt is back in the USA after months of living in the country of Georgia. After searching Green Lake for almost two months, a change in the investigation strategy gets results right away, when it is discovered that Borgwart has his passport checked by Canadian authorities one day after he is reported missing.  Since local law enforcement found his Passport in his house when he disappeared, a simple investigation finds that Ryan Borgwardt claims his passport was lost and he is issued a new one three months before he vanishes.  Before returning, Borgwardt records a video saying he is safe and secure, wrapping up the video saying, "hope this works".  Borgwardt does not give exact details about where he is located.   The video is then sent to the sheriff's office.   Ryan Borgwardt tells authorities how he was able to fake his death and make his escape. First, he says he travels about 50 miles from his home in Watertown to Green lake. On the lake, he overturns his kayak, dumps his phone in the lake and paddles to shore using an inflatable boat for children.  Borgwardt tells investigators he chose Green lake because it is the deepest lake in Wisconsin, nearly 240 feet deep.  Now Borgwardt's wife has filed for a separation.    Joining Nancy Grace today:  Gregory Morse - Partner at the law firm of King Morse, PLLC.
