S9 Ep 1491Ability To Change - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 2-24-25 #1491

“Send Coach John a message”A very simple, yet powerful message from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) with this quote that I know I want to keep getting better with. “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.” — Albert Einstein. A really quality life reminder for all of us, from one of the smartest people that ever walked the earth. Since things happen fast in life and usually things are changing at a faster rate now than ever before, one thing we can do to improve things is to get better with our own ability to change. It helps us to take a little more control back in our lives. I know I need to get better at handling changes and creating my own change that will benefit me. Take this quote to heart and check it out and see how you can benefit from connecting to it. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1490Understand Life - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1490

“Send Coach John a message”Great post with some three powerful reminders to help us to understand life a little bit more. It comes from Book Therapy (@Book_therapy223) where it’s mentioned that - “You have to visit 3 locations to understand life: the hospital, the prison and the cemetery.” There are many connections to each of these three as just about most people can quickly understand each of these places. I know that it gets me thinking about life a bit more and I hope that I can share some connections that will get you thinking too. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1489Take Control - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 2-21-25 #1489

“Send Coach John a message”Found another powerful, yet simple reminder that I needed to connect with and I’m hoping it helps you as well. I found this from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) and this quote is here to remind all of us to be reminded to take control a bit more in our lives. “In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” — Tony Robbins Hope this helped you as it got me thinking about intentionally choosing more of my choices every single day & to create better habits each day so that I go in the direction that I want to go in. S9 Ep 1488Be A Champion - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 2-20-25 #1488

“Send Coach John a message”Had to share this important reminder for all of us, because all of us come across feeling like this many times throughout life. Inky Johnson (@inkyjohnson) gives us some things to connect with this statement: “A champion is made on the other side of I don’t feel like it.” I think it’s important to remind ourselves that we need to define what being a champion means to ourselves, and not really have to follow other people’s definition. We also need to realize the importance of having that definition to work on for ourselves too. One thing for sure, there are always things to work on ourselves - that’s what makes our life journey so great (just one of many things), we always have something to do towards helping ourselves become the person we were meant to be! S9 Ep 1487Life Rewards - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 2-19-25 #1487

“Send Coach John a message”Two things that tie in Coach Dusty May from the University of Michigan Men’s Basketball team. It all has to deal with what life rewards us when we do things the right way. The first comes from The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1) "The game rewards the guys that have a great attitude and that show up and work when it's not about them. Because that's actually what equates to the real world stuff." The game and life reward effort, discipline, and commitment. That’s how real winners are made. Such a true statement - sports and life! The second part came from Hoop Herald (@TheHoopHerald) - “Win or lose with grace and humility” - Dusty May. Since life has plenty of ups and downs, for all of us - this is great advice for us.. Even if we don’t play basketball. I love being reminded about lessons in sports that connect with life!! Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1486Tribute To People That Helped - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 2-18-25 #1486

“Send Coach John a message”Recently, Coach Tom Izzo, head coach of Michigan State men's basketball team, became the winningest coach in Big 10 history with 354 victories, passing Coach Bobby Knight. He gave plenty of interviews and I watched the game as well. He showed a lot of emotion as he realizes this is not about him. He gave tribute to all the players that have played for him, the staff, the fans, the university presidents that he has worked with, etc. He got me thinking & reflecting about some things. I re-posted one of his clips with this thought: “Awesome tribute to many other people that helped him do what he does. Helps me to reflect with gratitude for all the people in my life that have helped me… good stuff here.” This episode is my attempt to get us all to think about the people in our lives that have helped us do what we do along with the person we have become. Emotions flowing for this one. Thanks for putting up with me. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1485Invest To Build - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 2-17-25 #1485

“Send Coach John a message”I saw a recent post from Jon Gordon (@JonGordon11) where he reminds us about this important point we all need to connect with. It comes from his book “The Carpenter” where he shares this: “Invest in relationships not because you want something but because you want to build something!” This is something for all of us to go through life being focused on. Life is all about relationships and with those relationships that we invest in, doors open up to so many possibilities. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1484This Impresses Me - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1484

“Send Coach John a message”This episode is coming from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) and he’s sharing what I think is something I needed to get my focus back on for sure. He shared: “A message for today …What impresses me most is one’s humility, authenticity & care for others. Being a good person impresses me more than one’s material wealth or status. We need to value deeper & meaningful qualities in people which lead to more lasting & genuine connections.” I needed to see this to get me back on track to what’s really important in this world. Not what the “popular view” is, but that there are some things that are much longer lasting than the flashy, loud, overwhelmingly negative towards others, etc. I hope this helps you to get a few things back on your radar to value as being really important to have in life. S9 Ep 1483Championship Mindset - 3 of 3 - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. - 2-14-25 #1483

“Send Coach John a message”I get this newsletter from “The Daily Coach” and it always has powerful lessons about leadership, life, sports, and it really translates to lessons for all of us to use in our daily lives. If you click on the link above, you will find that there are three people responsible for this great information being shared. Michael Lombardi, who has been a part of championship programs in football; George Raveling who was a longtime basketball coach and loves teaching leadership lessons; and the third person is Kimati Ramsey who is connected to supporting teams and individual athletes with their mental health. A winning trio that helps people to see life lessons through sports. This is part 2 of 3 looking at a Championship Mindset and they are focusing in on “Jalen Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to a dominant 40-20 victory over the reigning back-to-back Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, also taking home MVP honors. This wasn’t just another win—it was the culmination of a journey filled with trials, setbacks, and relentless perseverance.” This is the third and final part that I’m reflecting on and sharing some connections to life for most of us that don’t play professional sports for a living. This part is all about Growth that we want to strive for throughout our lifetime. This third part includes this from the email I got - “We may not be suiting up on Sundays, but in our own ways, we are all competing for the Super Bowl of life—pushing toward our unique opportunities to live, lead, love and serve at our highest calling and levels.” I know that life sure does become more interesting for each of us when we are able to connect to things (and people) that fire us up and inspire us, along with finding things everyday to keep connecting with so we can keep improving. Again, there are so many things out there to connect with as the saying that “success leaves clues” is always whispering in our ears as we try to live our best life, every single day!! S9 Ep 1482Championship Mindset - 2 of 3 - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 2-13-25 #1482

“Send Coach John a message”I get this newsletter from “The Daily Coach” and it always has powerful lessons about leadership, life, sports, and it really translates to lessons for all of us to use in our daily lives. This wasn’t just another win—it was the culmination of a journey filled with trials, setbacks, and relentless perseverance.” This second part I’m reflecting and sharing some thoughts on the Grit it takes in football, but more importantly in life. From the newsletter: “Turning losses into lessons - “This isn’t just a story about a quarterback winning a championship. It’s about life testing a leader over and over again—and that leader continuing to rise, inspire, and compete when it would have been easy to give up. Leadership and life guarantee challenges. But setbacks aren’t failures if we embrace them as opportunities for growth.” We all need to have our own version of “grit” in our lives. It comes down to not quitting or giving up on things in our life that are important to us. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1480Deploy Empathy - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 2-11-25 #1480

“Send Coach John a message”It’s amazing when you are needing some advice, lifting up, positive reinforcement, etc., that’s when you find it. In a post, a video, something you read, or hear from others. I found this post from Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) that reminded me about others that are “slinging mud” around to so many people, are really hurting deep down inside. Gary’s message is for us to remind others about this too. Here is his post that went along with the video clip of him talking with someone that had a question on this topic: “The people who hurt you are hurting the most .. have love for them ❣️ please pass this onto someone who is struggling with the negative feedback on their page or in life .. it’s time to deeply empathy for the one who is deploying the negativity or hurt, you have the strength to do this. ❣️” I think this is right on target for what’s happening so much more now it seems around the world. S9 Ep 1479Accept Both of These - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 2-10-25 #1479

“Send Coach John a message”These two items are good to take on all throughout life. It was posted by Art of Thinking (@Art0fThinking) and it says: “Accept both compliments and criticism. It takes both sun and rain for a flower to grow.” It’s a reminder for all of us that there are plenty of sunny moments in life (happiness, love, things are going well, we feel good, etc.) along with plenty of rain moments too (negativity, anger, not feeling good, pain, struggle, awful people, etc.) But life is full of both and we can (and should) use both in order to grow. It reminds me of what my good friend, Dr. Joe DiPonio has said plenty of times to so many of my students and others - “life is all about not getting caught up in having too many high highs, or having too many low lows.” It takes a little bit of both to help move us along in life. S9 Ep 1478Uncomfortable Situations - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1478

“Send Coach John a message”Saw a great reminder and once again, it came right when I needed to see it too. Found this from The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1) and it was a quick clip of South Carolina Women’s Basketball Coach, Dawn Staley where she said this: “Being uncomfortable and learning the processes of being uncomfortable and knowing that on the other side of an uncomfortable situation is growth.” It is a reminder to all of us to “Embrace the discomfort. It’s where you grow, where you separate yourself. The ones who push through it? They’re the ones who win.” There are so many moments in life where this happens to all of us and this is a great reminder to simply keep on going through the uncomfortableness to get it out of the way, and to pick up the lessons that we need to learn. S9 Ep 1477Happy People List - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 2-7-25 #1477

“Send Coach John a message”I found a list of seven items that people have that helps make them connected to happiness and joy! This came from Essential Mastery (@EssentialMastry) and the opening connecting words about the list is “real”. I think it is totally real. Happy People are all about: don’t show off, talk less, learn daily, help others, laugh more, ignore BS and live longer! A very simple road map for a good life. It’s also amazing to see so many doing the opposite of what is on this list. It’s a good plan of action to go after doing these items each and every day of our lives. Go ahead and try these out for size. I know I will be focusing on these for sure. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1476Let Them Talk - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 2-6-25 #1476

“Send Coach John a message”I recently saw a post that fits in with so many people that have to choose to let others “flap their gums.” 😂 This is from liminal (@Liminal1988) and its title is “Let them talk.” This reminds all of us that many people simply love to criticise, condemn, and complain and simply don’t do anything worthwhile themselves. Nothing to help themselves, help others, create things, have new ideas, add value to others, etc. The key is that this is a HUGE reflection about who they are and has nothing to do with ourselves. It is also a reminder of the powerful thought that the world does not benefit at all by us playing small in our own lives! Don’t live your life on “mute”, just so that you don’t get in the way of others and their “loudness”. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1475Wisdom & Time - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 2-5-25 #1475

“Send Coach John a message”I was listening to another amazing podcast from Mitch Albom and his friend / producer, Lisa Goich and it was all about wisdom. A great episode to check out, listen to it HERE. It gave me so many ideas that I wanted to share just a few with you in this episode. One for sure that it reminds me to be a constant student!! Lifelong learning is the way to go for sure. It reminded me about a story I shared with some students today from Michael Jordan being “aggressive to learn.” He was bringing up the importance of being coachable and wanting to learn, listen and be humble in learning and working hard. S9 Ep 1474Be Coachable - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 2-4-25 #1474

“Send Coach John a message”I found a post from Ball is Psych (@BallisPsych) that is so true for all of us, not just athletes. The story is connected to Michael Jordan, one of the best basketball players ever to play the game. It starts out with the thought that “ the easier you are to lead, the further you will go.” We all need to realize that if we are open to improving, we can go places. That improvement can come from a few different sources. Outside coaching is something that sure does help in all areas of life. We can only go so far if we are always thinking that we know everything. Being humble, learning to listen, and being open to learning, that all helps us to go farther. It’s best said at the end of this story - “To go far, be easy to lead. Don’t just tolerate coaching, welcome it, embrace it, and be grateful for the opportunity to grow.” I know I need it in so many areas and I am open to getting better for sure. Hope you are too. S9 Ep 1473Two Things To Remember - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 2-3-25 #1473

“Send Coach John a message”This caught my eye simply because of its simple truth and the fact I’ve been connecting to this idea that we as humans have thousands and thousands of thoughts every single day. Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) put this out: “Two things to remember in life: Take care of your thoughts when you are alone, and take care of your words when you are with people.” I’m really working hard - intentionally focusing on my thoughts and how they affect me throughout my day. I’ve tried to always watch my words when I’m with others, but not so much my thoughts when I’m alone. Thanks to some recent reading and this quote, along with some other things I’m noticing and connecting with in life - I am grateful for taking a bit more control over my thoughts. I hope you can pick this up as well. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1472Life Will Never Wait - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1472

“Send Coach John a message”I found something that really connected with me as I’ve been learning about the struggles of so many people, some that I know personally & it reminded me that none of us are alone when it comes to dealing with challenges. This was from Mind Essentials (@Mind_Essentials) where they shared this quote: “Life will never wait for you to be okay. Get up, carry your burden and keep going.” Another thing that got me thinking about this was (and I think about this often), the struggles that my ancestors had to go through in order for me to be here. It’s inspiring really when I take it all in - how can it not be. It’s the only choice for me - to keep battling and trying to do my best. Hope you find peace with this too. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1471Learn About People - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 1-31-25 #1471

“Send Coach John a message”Found a great list we all can connect to from Seek Wiser (@SeekWiser_) where it’s all about being able to “learn a lot about people from what they lack.” These things are so true about not only what we can learn from others, but also what we can try and learn about ourselves. These areas are so valuable: accountability, communication skills, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, honesty, having boundaries, and integrity. So much to pick up on when we have our eyes and ears open a bit - again, especially when looking in the mirror. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1470Take Care Of The Root - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 1-30-25 #1470

“Send Coach John a message”Found another deep reflective post, this one from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) where they shared this thought and it’s not just advice for trees. “Heal the root so the tree is stable.” We are the tree and we need to take care of our foundation so that our branches (and even any “fruit” we produce) which are the things we do and the people we connect with, can be their very best, all throughout our lives! Another positive reminder for me to keep working on things I know I need to do. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1469Show This Strength - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 1-29-25 #1469

“Send Coach John a message”I found a reminder that probably needs to get out there a bit more, for a few different reasons. This comes from Mind Essentials (@Mind_Essentials) reminds us that “Strong people don’t put others down … They lift them up.” Sad to say there are way too many examples all around us of people, many so called “leaders” that do the total opposite of this and think they are successful. It’s up to us to set the correct example in living our lives on a daily basis for sure. One key about this is how we treat ourselves too. So much for me to work on as usual and I’m glad to try and keep getting better. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1468Carve Out Some Time - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tues. 1-28-25 #1468

“Send Coach John a message”Another reminder post from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) where he shares this: “A message for today … Simplify your life! It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of life, but taking time for self-care really makes a difference. Carving out time for self-care helps recharge our mental & physical energy.” The post is all about this quote from Quotes Cafe - “Go offline, focus on yourself, treat yourself, exercise, go into nature, watch the birds in the sky, drink water, pray, laugh until you cry, cry until you laugh again, dress how you want, and set your boundaries. Be free.” So many outstanding reminders here for me to focus on, especially the going offline part a bit more. Yep, I need that. I think so many of us do. So many things we can do to better ourselves. Connecting to the previous episode, these are habits I need to do more of for sure as a part of my own system of living. How about you? S9 Ep 1467Goals vs. Systems - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 1-27-25 #1467

“Send Coach John a message”Found another great post from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi), where this was shared: “Goals are for people who care about winning once. Systems are for people who care about winning repeatedly.” - James Clear is the one who shared that gem of a thought. The system we all need to create (and we do it whether we know it or not), is with our habits. The things we do every day in our lives. The choices we make, make us! Having one goal here or there is not a bad thing. But to really change things in our lives, it’s the system we create for ourselves - that’s the key for sure!! I know I need to keep focusing on creating my best system for my life and you can do the same for your life. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1466Take These On Everyday - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1466

“Send Coach John a message”Found an important reminder for me and others on a few things to take on every day. I found this from Jon Beck (@CoachJonBeck) and he shares this: “4 diseases we must fight every day: Negativity, Mediocrity, Comfort and Entitlement. Stay positive, commit to excellence & never be outworked. Surround yourself w/ people who make you happy, laugh, recharge your energy & give you a sense of peace. Then you can take on those who don’t!” I’ve been finding that I need to “intentionally choose” to focus in on things like these and make sure I zero in on my choices a little bit better every day. It’s work of course, but what’s the alternative? To choose to be negative, mediocre, stay comfortable and to have an attitude of gimme, gimme, gimme?? The choice is simple, but maybe not easy to do every day. Again, things worthwhile are not supposed to be easy, but they are worth it. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1465Absence of Pressure - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 1-24-25 #1465

“Send Coach John a message”Found a great thought from one of the great basketball coaches. It’s shared by Coach Mac (@BballCoachMac) and the quote he’s sharing is: “With the absence of pressure, it's hard to do great things” - Geno Auriemma. Once again we see that basketball is a great mirror of life. Great things are not supposed to be hard. They are not supposed to be easy. So as we all go through our ups and downs in life - and that will always be the case as I was reminded about this week, going through some health issues, I needed this reminder for sure. “Send Coach John a message”Found a simple, yet powerful truth for all of us to remember. This comes from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity), where we are reminded that we all have problems and none of us are super easy to be with all the time. But, if we find someone that is committed to you and wants to grow with you, despite not being easy to be with, that is something to celebrate and invest in. Remember, do that for others too. For me, it’s my wife for sure - we put up with some things from each other (her more than me), but that is one of so many great things we have with the history we have together. “Send Coach John a message”As I’m still taking on this bug I have, I saw this post that got me thinking a bit about how each of us has a “culture”. I found this from Hoop Herald (@TheHoopHerald) where this quote was shared: “Culture and doing things the right way should be the focus every day. Your daily habits are what you lean on when things get hard” - Jay Wright. As we all have things that get difficult throughout life, it really comes down to our own culture and what we have created in our everyday lives - that helps to either get us through the challenges or causes more challenges. My current challenge is getting better, and I’m still trying to make sure I do things the right way - even if they are a bit slower. If we set up those good habits, then it won’t matter what the day is all about, we’ll just keep doing the right thing. It’s a good way to get through easy days and hard ones too. S9 Ep 1460Unfair Will Happen - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 1-17-25 #1460

“Send Coach John a message”Found another gem, which I shared with some basketball coaches & players and it comes from another coach! Greg Berge (@gb1121): “Unfair will happen to you. Adversity will happen to you. Ask yourself… - How will you react? - How will you respond? - Which version of you will show up? Train your mind ahead of time. Your response will define you.” This is a powerful reminder and one that I’ve been trying to work on for a long time. I do want to show up as my best possible self - not just in the good times, but all the time!! I’m working on training my mind to respond correctly. It’s the rest of me that I have to train as well. Since we all have adversity and unfair things in our lives - how will we respond? How do we make the best choice as to how we respond? It’s a skill to practice for sure… always and forever. S9 Ep 1459The Price - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 1-16-25 #1459

“Send Coach John a message”Found another gem from one of my All-Star former students, Coach Ray Ostrowski (@CoachRayO3313) where he is not only sharing good information with his students and his players, but also with anyone like us - at any age. Here is his intro to the quote he is sharing: “We all know there is a price to be paid. What far fewer understand is that the price often changes, even daily. You have to condition yourself to be ready to exceed whatever it takes to be successful at any given moment. It takes what it takes.” Each and every day has different challenges for us in our lives. The standard we set for ourselves should help us to pay whatever the price is day in and day out. Different days have many different things going on for all of us. Even if we get derailed a few days (or longer), we need to get right back to doing what we know we need to do to make things happen in our lives. Having great people around in my life sure does help me to be able to pay whatever cost I need to pay to do things the right way. I hope you have people like that too. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1458These Hard Moments - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 1-15-25 #1458

“Send Coach John a message”In today’s world, so many people are going through tough moments. Life has them all the time. I found something that was a good reminder for me and all of us, that when we do go through the hard times and it’s from The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1) where they had a clip of Kentucky Men’s Basketball Head Coach, Mark Pope where he shared this: “"It's these hard moments that make you grow too. When you can take the hard moments and turn them into something great...that's when you are on a journey." With the right mentality, hard moments don’t break you—they make you.” The tough moments I’m going through, I’m trying to connect with this more and more. I also am looking to improve my response to these tough moments so that I can find areas of growth and learning, instead of just getting all emotionally worked up where I’m not figuring things out and / or seeing possibilities that are there because of the struggles. I also am connecting this to learning from others’ struggles. What’s going on with the fires out in California, really shows the human spirit of trying to help and care for others. So many examples all throughout life that we can learn from, not just the ones going on with ourselves. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”Found a gem from The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1) and it’s a great lesson for all of us from one of the best coaches that has ever helped be a leader & encourager for young people. “Never compromise your principles; never lower your standards. Whatever it is that you desire to do in life, have the courage and commitment to do it and do it to your absolute best.” - Pat Summit I am reminded that each and every day I need to take the little steps to make sure I stay true to my principles and my standards. To remind myself that the things I want to do with my life and for others, cannot be done by taking easy shortcuts. S9 Ep 1454Had A Plan - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 1-10-25 #1454

“Send Coach John a message”Found a very powerful thought from Mindful Maven (@mindfulmaven_) “Those who died yesterday had a plan for this morning. And those who died this morning had plans for tonight. Don’t take life for granted. In the blink of an eye, everything can change. So forgive often and love with a full heart. You never know when you may not have that chance again.” This got me thinking of course and I hope it does the same for you. It’s a reminder for us to keep trying to be our best in life and that if we do our best every day, when things like this do happen, we will not have any extra grief to deal with. “Send Coach John a message”Found another fabulous post from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) and truthfully, I’m starting to look for his posts more often too. This one came from a few days ago, but I had to share it with you today. He reminded us that “the world doesn’t need you to know everything. The world doesn’t need you to be perfect. The world just needs you to show up and give it your best shot. So lead by example, share your experiences, inspire others with your actions, and never hold your gifts back.” For me, another powerful example is to not hold back in doing what I want to do and that is to make a difference with others. I need to keep showing up every single day and continue to give it my best effort in doing the things that I know I’ve been called to do. Let this sink in and see what you come up with connecting to this post of his. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1452Amazing People - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 1-8-25 #1452

“Send Coach John a message”Found an emotional and powerful post from Inky Johnson (@inkyjohnson) where he brought up the fact that we don’t hear too much about - “Amazing souls don’t just happen.” I think we all know people that can be called “beautiful souls”. People that just do good things. They encourage, are kind, help others, are giving, full of compassion and encouragement for others. Inky brings up the fact that they just don’t happen. They come from spots in life that had tough moments, heartbreak, pain, suffering, etc. This is a great reminder for us to not only look for & acknowledge these people that we are blessed to have in life, but to also be one ourselves for others. S9 Ep 1451So Ironic - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 1-7-25 #1451

“Send Coach John a message”Found a very simple but important post from Mindful Maven (@mindfulmaven_) where we are reminded that “Life is so ironic. It takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to value presence.” All of these things we experience in life and when we can take a moment and step back to look at these, I think gratitude fits into the mix of all these. So many lessons that these can help us with in life, that’s for sure. I know that I need to recognize when I’m going through these times in life of sadness, noise, and absence to really appreciate and value happiness, silence and presence. Life is full of these moments, I just want to make sure I pay attention to them a bit more often. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1450Complicated - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 1-6-25 #1450

“Send Coach John a message”Found a new source of some great posts as Positivity Inspired (@inspiringmyday) shared this simple jem - “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” I think this is one of the truest statements that we all can agree on, even if it is with ourselves and the person looking back at us in the mirror. Each of us I think have our own unique ways of making things better for ourselves, but the opposite is true as well. This is why it’s important to keep working on ourselves every single day. Look to make things simple instead of more difficult. I know for me, it’s a full time job. But that is a job that I will never “retire” from. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1449Big Believer - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1449

“Send Coach John a message”Another great post from Coach AJ Mental Fitness (@coachajkings) where he shares this from George Kittle said, "I'm a big believer that you surround yourself with good people which brings the best out of you." Coach AJ goes on to remind us to “Surround yourself with people who: • Want what's best for you. • Believe in you. • Challenge you. • Support you. • Inspire you.” What a great mindset to have starting out a new year, but what’s even better is to have this with us all year long. One other important piece of this - make sure you are one of these good people for others too!! The world needs us to do that. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 14483 Keys - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 1-3-25 #1448

“Send Coach John a message”Saw a great post from someone who I’ve been connected to for a long time, Jon Gordon (@JonGordon11) shares some things for the new year, but I think they can be used every day! Here is his post: “3 Keys to a Great 2025 1. Keep your Vision Alive-through adversity keep looking forward. 2. Stay Positive-when you hit setbacks believe the best is yet to come. Faith instead of fear. 3. Stay Connected-to your family and team. You are more powerful together than alone.” Again, with most advice for the new year, it’s good for every day too. So many connections to all 3 of these that got me fired up a bit and just keeping things like this going, that’s the key for all of us. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1447Challenges of Life - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 1-2-25 #1447

“Send Coach John a message”A fired up message that hit me right between the eyes and went straight to my heart from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) - A great example of people inspiring & encouraging other people as he did with me. He introduced this post with this: “A message for today … Life's challenges often push us to our limits but they can also serve as catalysts for growth & resilience. The process of coming together helps us rebuild & emerge stronger. It's in overcoming adversity that we truly discover our strength & potential.” We all have choices and this one got me very emotional as I was reading it during this recording. Hope this connects to you like it did for me. Thanks for listening. S9 Ep 1446Direction vs. Destination - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 1-1-25 #1446

“Send Coach John a message”Happy New Year! Here it is the start of Season 9 for my podcast, so first of all, thank you for being a part of my journey that has intersected with your journey. In my regular daily reading from the book “Arete” by Brian Johnson on page 339, he shares some very powerful (and for me emotional) information on our journey through life being a process and it’s not really a destination. It’s a great reminder to be thankful and appreciating the good in our lives and not taking those things for granted. (which sadly, I do plenty of times). I wanted to share this with you to start our 2025 out in a great direction (or whenever you listen to this episode), so I hope you can take something from this episode and plant it in good soil to grow all throughout this year and beyond! S8 Ep 1445Not Okay, Is Okay - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 12-31-24 #1445

“Send Coach John a message”I found a powerful poem from a post on Facebook that I wanted to share. It comes from a page called: “I’m going that way.” and this poem has some great reminders for all of us as to even if we are not okay, there are plenty of things that we are worthy of being. The poem brings up a few. I throw some of my own reflections into this and I know you can connect with these ways along with your own too. I mentioned a recent John O’Leary podcast where his guest shares a powerful story that fits into this too. Find the podcast: “A Father Learning to “Walk On” After the Tragic Loss of his Son: Stephen Panus” (ep. 736) by clicking on the link. Amazing and emotional story. On a less sad note, I do want to wish everyone a very happy New Year!! I’m looking forward to Season 9 for me and my podcast in 2025 along with many new & exciting things in my life. I hope you can say the same for your life too in the new year. Thank you all for listening to my show too. It means a lot to me for sure. Thanks for listening. S8 Ep 1444Strong People - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 12-30-24 #1444

“Send Coach John a message”Mindful Maven (@mindfulmaven_) reminds us that “Strong people don’t put others down, they lift them up.” It’s too bad that we don’t see this happening with most of our “leaders” in the world in various areas. It’s up to us to keep doing this to be the lessons for others. The world needs this. Thanks for listening. S8 Ep 1443One Day - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1443

“Send Coach John a message”Another great reminder, not only for the end of the year, but for us to make it a habit for every day. This one is brought to us by Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) “One day you'll look back and realize you worried too much about things that didn’t matter.” This is something that of course as I get older, I see it with more clarity. The key is, age has nothing to do with it. There is no age requirement to see this as to pick up this lesson, and I encourage everyone to pick this up as soon as possible in your life. S8 Ep 1442Signs Of Emotional Intelligence (4 of 4) - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 12-27-24 #1442

“Send Coach John a message”Found some powerful & difference making points of having emotional intelligence. There are 12 of them, so I’m breaking them down into 4 parts. All of this comes from Always Keep Learning (@AlwaysKeepL) and it’s called “12 Real World Signs you're emotionally intelligent”. Emotional Intelligence is a very strong indicator for all of us to have a better life. This fourth and final set of three are recognizing being overwhelmed and stepping back, encouraging others to express emotions, even when it’s hard and the final piece is to let go of grudges and move forward without resentment. This was a great 4 part series of some very helpful life ideas about some valuable skills we all need to have. Thanks for listening.
