He gave us fantastic gritty tension filled films like Falling Down and Phone Booth, a beautiful and truly terrifying take on vampires with The Lost Boys, and of course some of the worst incarnations of Batman with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. The absolute best movie about a mad scientist played by Bernie Lomax from Weekend at Bernie's who transplants Paul Walker's brain into a mechanical dinosaur. This week, with the Pentagon releasing video footage of what appears to be UFOs, we figured why not look at what the worst case scenario would be for an alien attack by examining the 1996 Tim Burton interstellar classic, Mars Attacks! Boasting a deep ensemble cast including such luminaries as Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, and a yet to be famous Jack Black, the film is often forgot about when discussing the work of Tim Burton. It isn't quite the masterpiece of Edward Scissorhands but it isn't the abomination of Alice in Wonderland or pretty much anything released by the filmmaker after 2000.
