Show Notes
This week, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Tim Burton's Batman. A film that had a very real and long lasting impact on both John and Brian as filmmakers. So we will be relishing this review as we break down what works and what doesn't in a film that at the time was controversial. The casting of a "comedian" in Michael Keaton in the titular role of a brooding and dark Bruce Wayne/Batman was met by fan boy fury and even death threats. Couple with the choice for Director in Tim Burton, at the time known for zany and dark films like Beetlejuice and Pee Wee's Big Adventure, and the result is a stylistic film that ushered in the golden age of superhero films and led to the tidal wave of the Marvel MCU.
