Daily Word — Reacting to world and local events through the lens of race, gender, culture, and country is tempting. However, we have to resist this urge because, as believers in Jesus Christ, we are citizens of the Kingdom of God. Daily Word — The Bible teaches us that Jesus is coming back for a glorious Church without blemishes. However, a major blemish on the Church is our lack of racial unity. Daily Word — When harm (intentionally or unintentionally) comes to us or those we love at the hands of another human, our flesh cries out for vengeance. However, vengeance is a seed we cannot afford to sow because the harvest of the vengeance seed is death. The only person who can handle the harvest of vengeance is God. Open Forum — We discussed that every calling has an inflection point. It is a point where your calling takes off after the years of work put in. The key is that we have to be patient and keep working diligently at our calling, so we can reach the inflection point. Daily Word — If you are like me, you want to know how everything works. And when they don't work, you want to know why. However, this attitude can stunt our spiritual growth because we won't know some things about God and His ways until the return of Christ. We have to be able to live with this mystery. Daily Word — There is a term in warfare called "the fog of war." It is a metaphor for the confusion that occurs on the battlefield when bullets are flying and bombs are exploding. In this confusion (or fog), it makes the battle plan unclear and uncertain. Likewise, there is a fog of life that causes confusion in the vision God has given you. Daily Word — When I was younger, I believed that if I had enough faith, I would be invincible from all problems. However, as I got older and learned more about the Bible, I discovered that it is not quite like that. While having faith does overcomes all problems, faith does not make me invincible like superman. Daily Word — Fear is contagious among non-believers because they don't have the antibodies to fight it, which is hope. Daily Word — As believers, we downplay our feelings and treat them like a bad guide. We do this because many of us have been taught not to trust our feelings. Open Forum — Today, I shared my thoughts on the results of our second in-person service in Atlanta, Ga. At this service, we had 70% less attendance than our first service. Although I wanted to see more people at the second service, God has already shown me beforehand that the second service would start the building process of CFE Atlanta. Thus we would have lower numbers. We discussed the importance of placing our faith in what God shows us instead of our faith in our personal expectations. Pastor Stephen shared an apt analogy of seeing our vision as a seed growing and the Holy Spirit had me reinforce that concept by saying that in this year of "Growth", we should expect growth like how a farmer plants a seed in the ground.
