Open Forum — Whether you are a saver or spender, if the amount of money in your bank account controls your mood, then your bank account is an idol. We also discussed how a setback should not cause you to pivot your business and provided talking points for dealing with family members who doubt your vision. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Judges 7:2-7. In this passage, God instructs Gideon to fight 120,000 Midianites with only 300 men. The revelation we are going to process is that God intentionally calls us to win in our calling with fewer resources than we think we need. He does this so He can get the glory, not our resources. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring 1 Peter 2 and 3. In these passages, Peter discusses how, as believers, we are required to submit to the government, our employers, and our spouses. The revelation we are processing is the importance of submission in the life of the believer. Bible Study — Within the body of Christ, churches are splitting from each other over the question of homosexuality. Some churches believe that homosexuality is sinful, while others believe that it is a perfectly congruent lifestyle with Christianity. So which group is right? Is it or isn't sin? Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring two questions: (1) how do I know what I am call to do and (2) how do I know the steps of that calling. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring John 16:5-15. In this passage, Jesus explains the job of Holy Spirit, which is to lead us into the truth. The revelation we are going to process is, how do we determine when Holy Spirit is speaking to us versus when we are hearing what we want to hear? Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Numbers 14:39-45. In these passages, the Israelites override God's instructions to stay in the wilderness for 40 years. Instead of accepting God's delay, they attempt to conquer the promised land and they are completely defeated. The revelation we are going to process is that God may intentionally delay us, which is designed to grow our faith, so we should not try to speed up the growth process. The revelation we are going to process from these passages is that our current level of faith may not be ready for the next level of success God has for us. Ministry Insights — Over the last election cycle, ministers of the gospel were on various sides of the political spectrum. Some ministers vocally and wholeheartedly supported President Trump, and others, with the same amount of energy, supported President Biden. Honestly, that election cycle felt like it almost ripped the body of Christ in America into pieces (and maybe it did). In this Ministry Insight, I am sharing thoughts on whether we, as ministers, should use our influence in the body of Christ to take political sides. I will share why, in 2014, the Holy Spirit instructed our ministry not to take sides. Also, I will present some ideas on how your ministry can navigate politics and determine whether it should or should not take sides. Here is a hint: the key is message discipline! Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Mark 4:13-20 from the Message Bible. In these passages, Jesus describes four types of people who have varying levels of success in their calling. The revelation we are going to process is introspective. Which of the four people are you in this passage? Bible Study — Most of us are in a rush for success in our entrepreneurial calling. However, God may take you the long way to success instead of the quick path because there are things you need to learn before you get to success. If you go too fast, you won't have the skill and character to maintain your success. The data based on lottery winners shows this to be true - about 70% of all lottery winners end up going broke and filing for bankruptcy, 44% of lottery winners had spent all of their winnings within 5 years of winning the lottery. Ministry Insights — I heard a popular YouTuber today say that "Christians don't take Joel Osteen seriously." This statement perfectly embodies the misunderstanding of Christianity today. Each group of Christians feels like their group has a lock on the truth of God, and anyone else outside of their group is false. In this insight, I will share how I teach the Word in this environment where everyone feels like they know the truth, and everyone else is wrong. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring a few passages today — Genesis 20:11-13, Leviticus 18:1-9, and Genesis 17:19. In these passages, we are going to discover that Abraham and Sarah's marriage was illegitimate but God made them right for each other. The revelation we are going to process is that even though you married the wrong person, God can still bless your marriage — if you allow him to. Open Forum — We discussed that we have to be careful about helping people process traumatic experiences — if God has not anointed you to do so, then someone else's traumatic experience could cause you to crash and thus pull you away from your calling. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Mark 5:35-42. In this passage, a 12-year-old girl dies while Jesus is on His way to heal her. After the father hears the bad news, Jesus tells him, "Be not afraid, only believe." The main revelation we are going to process from this text is that when we receive bad news about our vision, we are to not be afraid, but only believe. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Mark 4:35-41. In this passage, Jesus instructs his disciples to take a boat to the other side of a lake. But the disciples become fearful when a storm occurs and accuse Jesus of not caring about their lives. Open Forum — We discussed that we need to allow God to do new things through us. However, for that to happen, we need to clear our table (aka the activities that we are doing), and only place the activities that we love, back on the table. We also examined the idea that we need to have correct expectations for success and wrapped up by discussing how to overcome the emotional hurt of an abortion. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Matthew 15:1-9. In this passage, the Jewish leaders accused Jesus of breaking tradition, but Jesus flipped the script and accused them of breaking God's word because of their traditions. The main revelation we are going to process is that there are traditions that we follow subconsciously that are not allowing us to hear God's new direction for our life. Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Luke 5:1-9. In this passage, Jesus uses Peter's fishing boat to preach the word. After preaching, He instructs Peter to go fishing, but Peter is hesitant. The main revelation we are going to process is that just because past data tells you something can't work, a word from God can override what the data says. Atlanta Sunday Service — The will of God doesn't happen without help. It requires our choices and the choices of other people. This is a major revelation we must have so our faith doesn't get thrown into turmoil if something "God said" doesn't happen or is very slow to happen. However, because of Abraham's limiting beliefs about his age, he tries to downgrade the vision. Bible Study — Many of us are personally doing too many things within our calling. In the beginning, you may be able to handle it, but at some point you will drop some things, burn out, and crash your calling. God didn't create us to implement our calling alone. We were designed by God to work with others to accomplish the calling He placed in our heart. If we don't get a revelation of our need for others and start delegating, we won't fully achieve all God has called us to do. Daily Word — Many Christians question their ability to lead their calling to success because they are looking at their natural credentials and past track record. However, if God has called you to do it, then He has anointed you to lead it. It's not about your natural ability; you will succeed in leading because of the leadership anointing that God has placed on you. Open Forum — We started by discussing that God may ask you to sacrifice your career for you calling. We then moved on to discussing sowing seeds into other people and businesses for a harvest in your business. Daily Word — There is a popular saying among Christians: "I am just waiting on God." Well, instead of us waiting on Him, I believe 99% of the time God is waiting on us to obey His previous instructions. God, who created time, doesn't need time to bring our success. Daily Word — We began our discussion on not being deceptive in pricing your products and we explored how to price a service that depends on human labor. Also, we spent a good amount of time discussing if or how you should leave a church. This area of discussion included looking at the spousal dynamic of one spouse wanting to stay and another spouse wanting to leave for another church. Hearing the word preached on a daily basis accelerates the growth of our faith. Therefore, in 2014 we created our podcast to preach the Word on a daily basis. Through the years we have fluctuated between five days and seven days per week. As I was led by God I would update the broadcast schedule. I am now being led to move back to five days per week, Monday through Friday, and allow for the weekends to be days of rest. This will allow us time to catch up on any missed messages and reflect on all messages, including Bible Study, that were presented during the week. This new schedule will start this weekend. Daily Word — Life throws many problems at us. Some are small, others are medium-sized, but some problems are gigantic. Consider these: being one late payment away for being homeless, being on the verge of going out of business, or receiving a negative doctor's report.
