Don't be ashamed to pivot
Open Forum — When you start walking out your calling, more than likely you going in a wrong or slightly misguided direction. Therefore, we need to be flexible to hear God nudging us to adjust course. However, because most people don't understand entrepreneurship led by God, they will see your pivot as you being wishy-washy. This can make you feel ashamed to change direction, because you don't want to be seen that way. However, don't be ashamed to change or pivot, because it's better to follow God's direction than to worry about how people view you. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Pastors are hypocrites!

God will remove His covering for our good
Daily Word 2.0 — God wants the best for us; however, if we continue to live unholy lives, at some point He will remove His covering from us. When His covering is gone, we experience the consequences of our sins. His goal is not to destroy us with consequences but to allow the consequences to lead us to repentance and back to Him. It's OK to let go
Open Forum — We discussed that we need to be open to hearing God when He tells us to let go of things we are doing. Just because He may have told us to do a thing in the past, that doesn't mean He wanted us to do it forever. We need to be flexible, not rigid, in following God's instructions. As believers, should we create laws that regulate and/or ban abortion?
Daily Word 2.0 — When you read through the Bible, you can find places where the Bible takes a hands-off approach with government, and other times where it takes a hands-on approach by not allowing believers or non-believers to do certain activities. In the case of abortion, which should it be? Should be believers be hands off or hands on? Let's see. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
It looks like God, but it might not be!
Daily Word 2.0 — For many believers, when we see an open door of opportunity, we quickly say that God has opened that door for us. For example, you may be offered a job making $500K per year and it appears to be an answer to your prayers. However, just because a door of opportunity is in front of you, that doesn't mean it's from God. We are led by the spirit of God, not doors of opportunity. A Bible conversation about abortion
Bible Study — Since 1973, abortion has been protected as a right in the United States. This meant that states could set limits on abortion, but no state could outlaw abortion. However, as of 2022, the United States no longer has country wide protection for abortion. This allows states to determine if abortion will be legal in their state. Abortion has been debated among believers for generations. However, what does the Bible say about abortion? Do Christians have the right to impose our views of abortion on the entire country? Is abortion even a Christian issue and is no different than the United States not allowing people to murder others? Let's discuss. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
A conversation about Creflo Dollar's changing his mind about tithing
Open Forum — Yesterday on Open Forum, after we concluded, we started a discussion about Creflo Dollar's views on tithing. In this discussion, we talked about how tithing is an Old Covenant law, not a New Covenant requirement. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Doing the right thing doesn't guarantee an immediate positive outcome
Daily Word 2.0 — Many people are frustrated because they are doing the right things but they're not immediately seeing the results they expect. In 1 Samuel 24 and 26, we are going to see an example of this. David did the right thing but did not receive immediate victory from his situation. The insight we are going to process is that we should do the right thing in spite of the immediate results. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
Let God break your vision
Open Forum — We discussed that we have to allow God to keep give us more information about our vision. As He gives us more information, it may feel like He is breaking the vision. Instead of resisting the perceived breaking, lean into the newness God is revealing to you. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Your "Why" for success has to be rooted in pleasing God
Daily Word 2.0 — Why do you want to succeed in business, ministry, or anything you do? Well, according to 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6, it needs to be to please God. If your "why" is anything other than to please God, then your why is shaky and will not give you a foundation to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of success. Financial success or failure is not an indication of God's blessing or judgment
Daily Word 2.0 — In Malachi 3:13-18, the Israelites complained that God was blessing wicked people and righteous people were struggling. Because of this, they concluded that serving God didn't matter. The insight we are going to process is that from the outside looking in, the financial success or failure of someone is not an indication of God's blessing or judgment. You don't need a younger woman!
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Malachi 2:13-16 and Proverbs 5:15-19. In these scriptures, God admonishes older married men to enjoy the wife of their youth and not to divorce them for younger women. The insight we are processing is that our wives will physically change as they age, and regardless of their age, we should still see them just as beautiful as the day we married them. This insight focuses mainly on older married men, but this revelation also applies to older married women. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
Jesus didn't say anything about that!
Daily Word 2.0 — Many of today's cultural issues, such as abortion, are not directly discussed by Jesus. However, in the limited pages of a book, Jesus could not have addressed everything we would encounter in life. Therefore, God left us with 10 guiding principles in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. How should we determine what is paid or free in ministry?
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Acts 8:20-21 and 1 Corinthians 9:18. I use these passages to help me determine which parts of my ministry are free and which parts have charges associated with them. The insight I would like for you to receive relates to how I process this financial dynamic and how you can too (if you are called to create a ministry). Is your bank account an idol?
Open Forum — Whether you are a saver or spender, if the amount of money in your bank account controls your mood, then your bank account is an idol. God intentionally calls us to win with less
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Judges 7:2-7. In this passage, God instructs Gideon to fight 120,000 Midianites with only 300 men. The revelation we are going to process is that God intentionally calls us to win in our calling with fewer resources than we think we need. He does this so He can get the glory, not our resources. You get submission, you get submission, you get submission!
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring 1 Peter 2 and 3. In these passages, Peter discusses how, as believers, we are required to submit to the government, our employers, and our spouses. The revelation we are processing is the importance of submission in the life of the believer. Submission is not just about wives submitting to their husbands—all believers are under a requirement of submission. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
Born this way?
Bible Study — Within the body of Christ, churches are splitting from each other over the question of homosexuality. Some churches believe that homosexuality is sinful, while others believe that it is a perfectly congruent lifestyle with Christianity. So which group is right? Is it or isn't sin? Let's comb through the scriptures to answer these questions. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Trust the process
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring two questions: (1) how do I know what I am call to do and (2) how do I know the steps of that calling. The answer to both questions is a three-part framework: study the Word, receive godly counsel, and commune with like minded believers. All of you are ministers!
Open Forum — We discussed how do we know what God's plans are verses our plans. We also talked about how to avoid being a people pleaser, and we ended with a discussion on the idea that everyone connected with CFE is called to ministry in someway. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Did God tell me that?
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring John 16:5-15. In this passage, Jesus explains the job of Holy Spirit, which is to lead us into the truth. The revelation we are going to process is, how do we determine when Holy Spirit is speaking to us versus when we are hearing what we want to hear? Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
Don't rush the delay
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Numbers 14:39-45. In these passages, the Israelites override God's instructions to stay in the wilderness for 40 years. Instead of accepting God's delay, they attempt to conquer the promised land and they are completely defeated. The revelation we are going to process is that God may intentionally delay us, which is designed to grow our faith, so we should not try to speed up the growth process. Instead, we need to patiently wait it out and grow. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
Who said it has to look a certain way?
Open Forum — We discussed that our calling needs to be fluid, so God can shape it. We also explored that if God has you in a slow season of your calling, then embrace the slowness and be patient. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
The current you may not be ready for the next level
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Matthew 13:58, Matthew 17:19-20, Exodus 13:17-18, and Numbers 14:29-33. The revelation we are going to process from these passages is that our current level of faith may not be ready for the next level of success God has for us. Trump is the best president ever?
Ministry Insights — Over the last election cycle, ministers of the gospel were on various sides of the political spectrum. Some ministers vocally and wholeheartedly supported President Trump, and others, with the same amount of energy, supported President Biden. Honestly, that election cycle felt like it almost ripped the body of Christ in America into pieces (and maybe it did). In this Ministry Insight, I am sharing thoughts on whether we, as ministers, should use our influence in the body of Christ to take political sides. I will share why, in 2014, the Holy Spirit instructed our ministry not to take sides. Also, I will present some ideas on how your ministry can navigate politics and determine whether it should or should not take sides. Here is a hint: the key is message discipline! What's up with my vision?
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Mark 4:13-20 from the Message Bible. In these passages, Jesus describes four types of people who have varying levels of success in their calling. The revelation we are going to process is introspective. Which of the four people are you in this passage? Based on the answer, the revelation of what's up with the success of your vision is revealed. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
God may take you the long way to success
Bible Study — Most of us are in a rush for success in our entrepreneurial calling. However, God may take you the long way to success instead of the quick path because there are things you need to learn before you get to success. If you go too fast, you won't have the skill and character to maintain your success. The data based on lottery winners shows this to be true - about 70% of all lottery winners end up going broke and filing for bankruptcy, 44% of lottery winners had spent all of their winnings within 5 years of winning the lottery. Slow and steady success is usually the way to go. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Christians don't take Joel Osteen seriously?
Ministry Insights — I heard a popular YouTuber today say that "Christians don't take Joel Osteen seriously." This statement perfectly embodies the misunderstanding of Christianity today. Each group of Christians feels like their group has a lock on the truth of God, and anyone else outside of their group is false. In this insight, I will share how I teach the Word in this environment where everyone feels like they know the truth, and everyone else is wrong. You married the wrong person!
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring a few passages today — Genesis 20:11-13, Leviticus 18:1-9, and Genesis 17:19. In these passages, we are going to discover that Abraham and Sarah's marriage was illegitimate but God made them right for each other. The revelation we are going to process is that even though you married the wrong person, God can still bless your marriage — if you allow him to. Lead where you are called to lead
Open Forum — We discussed that we have to be careful about helping people process traumatic experiences — if God has not anointed you to do so, then someone else's traumatic experience could cause you to crash and thus pull you away from your calling. We discussed the importance of self-care and when it is time to let someone go out of your life. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Partnership
Be not afraid, only believe
Daily Word 2.0 — We are exploring Mark 5:35-42. In this passage, a 12-year-old girl dies while Jesus is on His way to heal her. After the father hears the bad news, Jesus tells him, "Be not afraid, only believe." The main revelation we are going to process from this text is that when we receive bad news about our vision, we are to not be afraid, but only believe. Because God anointing on our life overcomes bad news. Links — CFE Atlanta, Online Community, Ministry School, Partnership
