Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Liam Twomey, straight out of The Athletic to reflect on Chelsea's Transfer Ban being lifted; look back at the 3-1 defeat to Everton on Saturday and ahead to Tuesday night's final Champions' League group match against Lille.Special Announcement: Some of you may know that John Whitehead (aka @donjoninglesias on Twitter) passed away last week. What many won’t know was that he was terminally ill with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a ferocious lung disease. Despite this John never let this dull his passion for his family, life & love of football.Although born in Spain, he was raised within a goal kick of Stamford Bridge & this began his life long love affair with his beloved Chelsea, whom he followed over land & sea (& Leicester) for 6 decades. John’s last game was Lille away in his wheelchair & struggling severely with his breathing he cheered on his team to victory. As a fitting tribute to this young father & husband, a “True Blue” a minutes applause on the 57th minute on Tuesday against Lille is being organised. When discussing this, John’s wife Kathryn said, that if he was here today, he’d say “that was the best thing to ever happen to him in his life”! Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio 06/12/19

Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Clayton Beerman join Matt Beadle to talk about Chelsea's transfer ban being lifted today and a look back at the win against Aston Villa in midweek and ahead to the match against Everton. With the news on Friday that Chelsea's Transfer Ban has been lifted, we ask should Chelsea buy players in January and if so who and for what positions? Should the club be looking to buy quality or quantity and how will this affect the youth development? With a return to winning ways against Aston Villa in the midweek game, it had a feeling of 'Groundhog Day' with Chelsea creating chances, but not taking them; being careless at the back & conceding as a result. But it was a much needed win and very entertaining but why did it have to be so tense?Tammy was back on the score sheet & a Mason Mount scored a worldy so are Chelsea better when they both start? And why do opposition ‘keepers turn into Gordon Banks when playing Chelsea? Plus Ben joins us on the phone to discuss whether we need to buy another 'keeper to give Kepa some competition?Looking ahead to the Everton match we have Paul McParlan from These Football Times to discuss whether or not Duncan Ferguson will provide the lift Everton need to beat Chelsea, having sacked Marco Silva. All this plus our predictions for the match on Saturday!Support the Chelsea FanCast and become a Patron:Become a Patron!Chelsea FanCast is broadcast on Love Sport Radio every Friday from 7.00-8.00 pm. We also look at last weekends Who Knows Wins match prediction league and reveal who the somewhat surprising winner was.In part three, we read out this week’s emails. In part four we have a look ahead to Wednesday night’s home match against another claret and blue team; Aston Villa and the return of John Terry. Stamford Chidge, Clayton & Charlie Beerman join Matt Beadle to look back at Chelsea's defeat to Man Utd in the Carabao Cup this week and ahead to Chelsea's match away to Watford in the Premier League on Saturday. We discuss a poor first half for Chelsea and a better second half but Utd out do Chelsea again winning 2-1 in the Carabao Cup. But were Chelsea simply done by two mistakes & two well executed set pieces? Did Utd’s strong selection, packed midfield & counter-attacking stump Chelsea? On the plus side, there was more game time for James; Guehi & Gilmour and a superb Drogba-esque goal from Batshuayi but can he do this more often and will going out of the Cup have longer term benefits for Chelsea?Support the Chelsea FanCast and become a Patron:Become a Patron!Looking ahead to the Watford match, we discuss Chelsea winning their last 6 away games, but why are we better away? Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Tony Glover to look back at Captain America aka Christian Pulisic's marvel-ous hat trick against Burnley on Saturday. On the show tonight we get a warm fuzzy glow discussing Pulisic’s perfect hat-trick and ask in the cold light of day has Frank Lampard handled his introduction to the team well? Is he Hazard-esque or is the fact that goal scoring seems to be a team effort this season more important? In part two, we discuss Jorginho and Kovacic, liberated by Frank Lampard and dominating midfield and Zouma and Tomori become rock like in defence, before the team collectively switched off to allow Burnley two needless consolation goals. But sloppiness aside Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are most definitely exceeding expectations. Chelsea FanCast on Love Sport Radio – the only 100% Chelsea show on the radio! Stamford Chidge, Jonathan Kydd and Matt Beadle look back at Chelsea's stunning victory away to Ajax in the Champions' League this week and ahead to Chelsea's match away to Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday. We discuss arguably Chelsea's best performance and result of Lampard’s reign with the 1-0 win away in Amsterdam against Ajax on Wednesday night. The blend of experience and youth is beginning to pay off and Chelsea showed a tactical maturity as did Frank Lampard with his use of Pulisic and Batshuayi as impact subs.Chelsea are showing an impressive rate of development under Frank Lampard and with 6 wins out of 6 – we’re on a roll, but against Ajax we were lucky to be on the right side of a VAR call when Promes' goal was called offside. We discuss whether VAR might not be so bad after all.Looking ahead to Saturday's match against Burnley we talk to Chris Boden of the Burnley Express and discuss Burnley's great home record, but less so against Chelsea;  Ashley Barnes being the main threat, Burnley having deceptive quality but will they try to rough Chelsea up.We round up by discussing Chelsea's great record against Burnley especially away which perhaps debunks the myth of ot being a perennially tough away trip and with Kante & Barkley unlikely to start, who will and after a tough run of games played at high energy does anyone need a rest? Finally we give our predictions and a plug for Stamford Chidge taking part in the 'Big Stamford Bridge Sleep Out' in November. The Chelsea Special - Bobby Tambling Interview teaser

Bobby Tambling is most widely known for being Chelsea’s record goal scorer for over 40 years; scoring 202 goals in only 370 games before being famously bettered by Frank Lampard in 2013. But Bobby means so much more to Chelsea supporters of a certain vintage than that.Martin King and Stamford Chidge were privileged to interview him in one of the Chelsea hotels before a match. We talked to Bobby about playing and learning from the great Jimmy Greaves; the differences in approach between Tommy Docherty and Dave Sexton; the game at Villa Park where he scored 5 goals; the pain of defeat against Spurs in the 1967 FA Cup Final and missing out in the 1970 final as well as following the careers of Kerry Dixon and Frank Lampard wondering which one might break his goal scoring record. To download and play the full interview with Bobby Tambling for just £2.99 go to chelseaspecial.podbean.comMake sure you follow the Chelsea Special on Podbean to get a heads up on our forthcoming interviews with Chelsea legends such as Kerry Dixon, Chopper Harris, Tommy Baldwin and many more.
