S22 Ep 232S22 Ep232: Byte: Susan Hensley ~ The Wildness & Peace Inside the Storm
bonusHello friends! This week I introduce you to Susan Hensley, who, at the end of our conversation, was surprised to understand that a couple of the stories she shared this week had to do with storms, or tempests...those wild weather events that sometimes shake us to our core! Susan shares a really potent story of what happened on a family vacation in Hawaii, and how she emerged on the other side of that vacation irrevocably changed. It's the perfect time to share this quotation from THE TEMPEST by Shakespeare, “We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.” We are made of dreams, little ones, and understanding that, I think, gives us that much more power over our lives. Understanding that we are made of stardust, dreams, wishes and hopes, and that all of this combines to create each of us in such singular ways...well, the sky's the limit for how we can shape and create beauty in this reality. Never forget that!To check out Susan's website click here. And to buy her book, click here.I don't know about you but I LOVE a good storm...and photos of storms? THE BEST! So here is a link to 12 astonishing images of clouds, storms, lightning, waterspouts, you name it, to float your boat!

S22 Ep 231S22 Ep231: 231: Interview-Tim Thomas ~ The Shark and the NDE
Greetings my friends-it's another weekend and that means another episode of the pod is dropping! This one is a doozy and has echoes of JAWS, but JAWS if friendship, trust and spearfishing were all happening at once (oh, and if the person being attacked survives, of course!) And he does, because Tim Thomas wouldn't be able to be a guest and tell his story unless he lived to tell the tale!Tim is an extraordinary human being-and you'll hear all about it when you listen to the pod-he is an avid supporter of Vets and does much work with multiple organizations to ensure that those who have been in the services are not left behind, are not forgotten and not given short shrift. He endeavors to ensure they have the care and emotional support they need-you can read all about Tim's work here, on his website! He is a big believer in breath work saying, "breathwork improved the quality of his sleep, especially when he was serving with the Special Forces in Afghanistan." As well, you can watch a video of Tim jumping into a giant barrel of water and ice-the cold dipping we talk about in the episode. Take a gander at what Tim is doing and meet another wonderful human making this world a better place!PLEASE DO REMEMBER TO RATE AND REVIEW THE PODCAST-every rating helps others find us!And don't forget the YouTube channel-see my guests IRL and bask in their shiny faces!Your bit of beauty this week is this collection of GORGEOUS sea/ocean photographs-playful and whimsical, devastating and a call to action. WE HAVE TO SAVE OUR OCEANS! Every time I go to the Oregon Coast I pick up garbage on the beach-I figure if I don't then who will? It's a simple act that if 1000's did the same, our beaches and lands would be so much cleaner. This simple act, bending over and picking up one piece of trash, can change everything! xo

S22 Ep 230S22 Ep230: Interview: Scott Grace ~ The Ultimate Trickster!
I feel like I should just get out of the way and let my guest, Scott Grace, write this introduction, because honestly? I could barely keep up with him during our conversation! He was so funny, so irreverent, and so ridiculously talented...I was left in the dust!As Scott's bio says, he's a bit of a cross of John Denver, Robin Williams and Dr. Seuss all rolled into one! And channeling all that greatness has been part of Scott's work in this world, even from a young age. This great work of his is in service to inspire us, to urge us to greater and greater things...and to remind us, that humor, and intelligence and kindness, will get us far. To check out Scott's website click here. To check out his YouTube click here! Thanks to all of you who listen, and REMEMBER, ratings and reviews are where it's at! Please do consider doing either, or both!! I will love you forever!Your bit of beauty is this video from the 70's, the original "The Lorax." I loved this film...and this is just a bit of it...because the topic it talked about, the destruction of our natural world, hit hard as a kid. I was changed forever, and perhaps, it still shapes me. Yes, Dr. Seuss is a controversial figure...and has a darker reputation than when I was a kid, but this movie is relevant still, and urges us all to be better stewards of our environment. And that, we should be grateful to Dr. Seuss for, because honestly? We need the reminder!

(we just need eyes to see it!) And Daniel is sharing his hard-won knowledge about DNA and our own unique selves (and the unique ways we can heal ourselves) out in the world with his company, Timeline Sciences, which you can read all about here! Take the time to check him out-and how he is redefining the path to wellness.PLEASE DO REMEMBER TO RATE AND REVIEW IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU HEAR!Your bit of beauty is this video about Cymatics-Daniel and I discuss it in the episode-and it's absolutely gorgeous that you can see the "shape" of sound through this provocative and exciting way of getting a glimpse behind the curtain of the Universe! Well, that was just the beginning...because Aaron's path was ready to unfold for him! And over time, Aaron has discovered more about just who he is, his potential and what sorts of plans the ancestors and universe have for him. It's an interesting tale, told by a master storyteller! To connect with Aaron and discover more about him and his work, click here!PLEASE REMEMBER TO SHARE THE POD-SO SOMEONE ELSE'S DAY CAN BE A BIT SHINIER!Your bit of beauty is this...a video made in 1974 about Coastal Salish Art by Master Tlingit Carver Nathan Jackson. (I have to mention his sense of humor because it is a superpower, everyone!) As well, Sam is out there in the world introducing this age old wisdom to anyone willing to learn. He's out there with optimism, knowing that the more one studies, the more one knows, the more a force to be reckoned with, they'll become. He also, at a young age, was gifted an event that helped him to realize that psychopomps are real, even goldfish can be angels, and that all life around us is sacred! His story is simple, profound and magically beautiful! We talk Japan (in the Easter Egg at the end), we talk the beauty of Japanese shadows...and we talk Death, with a capital "D"...not to be confused with the other "D" word, Dill Pickle!I wanted to start the year with a simple and sweet tale, a gentle reminder that all is sacred and all is sentient...and mostly, that every living thing has a soul...and can be a psychopomp when needed. Here's to a rowdy and raucous 2025, and here's to all of our dreams coming true!To read a bit more about Elijah and his book, HEREAFTER LIES: RIP, click here!Your bit of beauty is this, a better explanation that I ever could create-a little bit more about the Japanese relationship with shadows. S17 Ep 218S17 Ep218: 218: Interview: Rebeccah Silence ~ The Gift in the Cancer Diagnosis!
Welcome to another mid-week miracle episode love nuggets!! Please meet my guest this time, Rebeccah Silence, who is an award-winning author, coach, and media personality as well as mother and resilient and triumphant survivor! In this episode you'll hear how she overcame a childhood fraught with abuse and sorrow, and traveled a road to healing and beauty. There are so many gifts in this episode and in the stories that she tells...but suffice it to say that for me, the discovery and timing, let along HOW it was discovered...around her cancer diagnosis was absolutely gobsmacking! She is light, bright and full of wisdom, and has a fierce sense of humor to boot!To read more about this wonderful human, click here...and to buy her book, COMING BACK TO LIFE, click here!PLEASE REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE POD TO HEAR MORE SOUL-HEALING CONTENT...AND RATE AND REVIEW....IT HELPS OTHER LISTENERS FIND US!Your bit of beauty this time is Edmonia Lewis, an African American & Native American sculptor and her piece "The Death of Cleopatra." I recently listented to "Sidedoor" a Smithsonian podcast and the episode detailed Lewis' life, fame and subsequent slide into being forgotten. A powerful and redemptive story of what we humans create in this world and then leave behind (only to be discovered later in an abandoned space), her story resonated deeply with me this week. What are we creating every day, and how will the future find our works? I'll leave you with that thought and cheers to the rest of your week!

S17 Ep 211S17 Ep211: 211: Interview: John Brink ~ Oh Canada! Or, The Miracle During World War II, and How Life Comes Full Circle!
This is a seriously special episode this week-and the story my guest, John Brink shares, is nothing short of spectacular! John shares so much this week-his childhood during the end of WWII, how Canadians freed his village in Holland, and how he was forever changed by their generosity and kindness. John was so captivated by these men that he decided he would leave his homeland and emigrate to Canada, so many years later-and that, as they say, has made all the difference. It also allowed Spirit to demonstrate to John that we are all connected in one great beautiful life-fabric and there's no getting away from destiny!John's story is so dang powerful, I dare you to walk away from this one saying there is no method to the madness that is this life-and that the miracle was simply a coincidence! I dare you! As for John, he is busy living life the only way he knows how-with grace and resilience and with the eternal hope that we are all striving to make this world a better place for everyone! To read more about John and his good works, click here to see his website! S17 Ep 210S17 Ep210: Interview: Julia Marie ~ The Magic in Life Turning Upside Down!
Hello babes!this weekend I am introducing you to Julia Marie who has had such an interesting life, with many twists and turns! Sometimes the plans YOU think you have for your life are not exactly what the UNIVERSE has in store for you. So what do you do? Do you cry in your milk? Do you throw the towel in? Do you cry out to the Universe that it's not fair...that you had different ideas for what your life was going to look like? Believe you me I have had plenty of times where the towel was thrown, never to be found again, and the SULKING was epic! But soon, so very soon, I realized that perhaps I did not really know what was best for me, and that other, greater, more divine energies had my best life in mind for me, if only I would follow their promptings! Well Julia Marie tells a story much like this, except that she opened her heart and mind and went with what was happening...and it has made all the difference! Her story is one we should pay attention to, simply because humanity is changing, in all sorts of ways, and some of these ways are very magical and mysterious! To check out Julia Marie's book, click here, and to visit her website click here!Your bit of beauty this week is all about aspens and the fall foliage here in Santa Fe, NM! S17 Ep 208S17 Ep208: 208: Dr. Erica Elliott ~ Climbing Mountains & Saving Lives!
Yes! I have a returning guest this episode and it is partially because Dr. Erica has more stories to tell (and hooray for us, she gives more detail about that one ceremony where she suddenly could speak and understand Navajo, despite having very little knowledge of that language!) and partially because I want to SHOUT OUT her new book "From Mountains to Medicine, Scaling the Heights In Search Of My Calling." I seriously COULD NOT put this book down...not only does she reveal some harrowing details of the mountains she has summited, but also her struggle to figure out just WHY she is here in this world (a struggle I assume most of us are familiar with!) The book is funny, charming and absolutely worth the read...and I do NOT say that about every book! Please click on the link above to read more about this delightful human being! As well, Dr. Erica shares her struggles after her education in Germany, her travails at Antioch College and that one MIRACLE when her life was spared after her oven blew up (I will let Erica tell that one). Suffice it to say, there is an absolute reason the world needs Dr. Erica, and you'll understand why, after you listen! (It might have to do with her sense of humor, her smarts, and her indefatigable spirit, but what do I know?) To read more about her, click on her website here! Please do rate and review the podcast-it helps others find us!I have so many more fab interviews to share, I can't even tell you how excited I am! Wahoooo!Do check out the YouTube Channel here!Your bit of beauty this week is this Navajo Song, a healing song, just like the one Erica shared, because we all could use a little more healing, don't you think?

S17 Ep 208S17 Ep208: 208: The Byte: Dr. Erica Elliott ~ Climbing Mountains & Saving Lives!
bonusYes! S17 Ep 207S17 Ep207: 207: Interview: Philip Blackett ~ Family Love Can Magic (And Cure) All Things!
Philip shares two stories this week-and both are heartfelt...there's the story about his twin girls and then...well, then there's the story about Philip's childhood and the fact that he was four years old and still had not uttered a word. But guess what? Once again, we are reminded that Love and Faith and Dedication can conquer all things, and lift each and every one of us up! And oh yeah, it can cure pretty much everything, too! It's a seriously powerful story this week-and a good example of what happens when we believe in eachother! (yeah, here we are again discussing how potent belief is, and how it can change and shape worlds!)Philip is so groovy, you absolutely need to check out his website here, and also, all his books! He is prolific! And the works he is engaging with...well, they are here to make the world a better place for all of us!We need more people to go out into the world and create community, belonging and spaces where all are welcomed. Yes we might disagree, but that's OK, we can still respect and admire each other!Your bit of beauty is this article from YES Magazine about four artists that are on the spectrum and how they create their art! It is powerful, gorgeous and a good reminder that there are all sorts of humans creating good stuff out there...and living into their potential! We need more diversity, more inclusivity and more inviting everyone to our tables. Together we absolutely are stronger!
