S17 Ep 211S17 Ep211: 211: Interview: John Brink ~ Oh Canada! Or, The Miracle During World War II, and How Life Comes Full Circle!

This is a seriously special episode this week-and the story my guest, John Brink shares, is nothing short of spectacular! John shares so much this week-his childhood during the end of WWII, how Canadians freed his village in Holland, and how he was forever changed by their generosity and kindness. John was so captivated by these men that he decided he would leave his homeland and emigrate to Canada, so many years later-and that, as they say, has made all the difference. It also allowed Spirit to demonstrate to John that we are all connected in one great beautiful life-fabric and there's no getting away from destiny!John's story is so dang powerful, I dare you to walk away from this one saying there is no method to the madness that is this life-and that the miracle was simply a coincidence! I dare you! As for John, he is busy living life the only way he knows how-with grace and resilience and with the eternal hope that we are all striving to make this world a better place for everyone! To read more about John and his good works, click here to see his website! To buy his books AGAINST ALL ODDS, LIVING YOUNG, DYING OLD, FINDING YOUR PASSION and ADHD UNLOCKED, click here!PLEASE DO SUBSCRIBE TO THIS PODCAST SO AS TO NEVER MISS AN EPISODE!And remember, ratings and reviews are where it's at, so please do consider rating the pod!Your bit of beauty this week? this Tedx talk by Jane Caro entitled "Growing Old, The Unbearable Lightness of Aging." Related with a wink and a smile, this video encourages us to embrace the aging process and to do it like John does, with a sense of humor, with grace, and with humility!

S17 Ep 210S17 Ep210: Interview: Julia Marie ~ The Magic in Life Turning Upside Down!

Hello babes!this weekend I am introducing you to Julia Marie who has had such an interesting life, with many twists and turns! Sometimes the plans YOU think you have for your life are not exactly what the UNIVERSE has in store for you. So what do you do? Do you cry in your milk? Do you throw the towel in? Do you cry out to the Universe that it's not fair...that you had different ideas for what your life was going to look like? Believe you me I have had plenty of times where the towel was thrown, never to be found again, and the SULKING was epic! But soon, so very soon, I realized that perhaps I did not really know what was best for me, and that other, greater, more divine energies had my best life in mind for me, if only I would follow their promptings! Well Julia Marie tells a story much like this, except that she opened her heart and mind and went with what was happening...and it has made all the difference! Her story is one we should pay attention to, simply because humanity is changing, in all sorts of ways, and some of these ways are very magical and mysterious! To check out Julia Marie's book, click here, and to visit her website click here!Your bit of beauty this week is all about aspens and the fall foliage here in Santa Fe, NM! Click on this link to view the exquisite turnings of the leaves here in the desert Southwest, and why we are turning into "leaf peepers" down here in the high country!

S17 Ep 208S17 Ep208: 208: Dr. Erica Elliott ~ Climbing Mountains & Saving Lives!

Yes! I have a returning guest this episode and it is partially because Dr. Erica has more stories to tell (and hooray for us, she gives more detail about that one ceremony where she suddenly could speak and understand Navajo, despite having very little knowledge of that language!) and partially because I want to SHOUT OUT her new book "From Mountains to Medicine, Scaling the Heights In Search Of My Calling." I seriously COULD NOT put this book down...not only does she reveal some harrowing details of the mountains she has summited, but also her struggle to figure out just WHY she is here in this world (a struggle I assume most of us are familiar with!) The book is funny, charming and absolutely worth the read...and I do NOT say that about every book! Please click on the link above to read more about this delightful human being! As well, Dr. Erica shares her struggles after her education in Germany, her travails at Antioch College and that one MIRACLE when her life was spared after her oven blew up (I will let Erica tell that one). Suffice it to say, there is an absolute reason the world needs Dr. Erica, and you'll understand why, after you listen! (It might have to do with her sense of humor, her smarts, and her indefatigable spirit, but what do I know?) To read more about her, click on her website here! Please do rate and review the podcast-it helps others find us!I have so many more fab interviews to share, I can't even tell you how excited I am! Wahoooo!Do check out the YouTube Channel here!Your bit of beauty this week is this Navajo Song, a healing song, just like the one Erica shared, because we all could use a little more healing, don't you think?

Philip shares two stories this week-and both are heartfelt...there's the story about his twin girls and then...well, then there's the story about Philip's childhood and the fact that he was four years old and still had not uttered a word. But guess what? Once again, we are reminded that Love and Faith and Dedication can conquer all things, and lift each and every one of us up! And oh yeah, it can cure pretty much everything, too! It's a seriously powerful story this week-and a good example of what happens when we believe in eachother! (yeah, here we are again discussing how potent belief is, and how it can change and shape worlds!)Philip is so groovy, you absolutely need to check out his website here, and also, all his books! He is prolific! And the works he is engaging with...well, they are here to make the world a better place for all of us!We need more people to go out into the world and create community, belonging and spaces where all are welcomed. Yes we might disagree, but that's OK, we can still respect and admire each other!Your bit of beauty is this article from YES Magazine about four artists that are on the spectrum and how they create their art! It is powerful, gorgeous and a good reminder that there are all sorts of humans creating good stuff out there...and living into their potential! We need more diversity, more inclusivity and more inviting everyone to our tables. Together we absolutely are stronger!

S17 Ep 206S17 Ep206: 206: Byte: Thomas Brown ~ The Magic of Synchronicity

bonus

Dear ones, there is a trigger warning for this episode...and a big warning from me, for those of you who are sensitive to the discussion of suicide this week-please take care. September is Suicide Prevention Month, so this episode is especially potent right now~My guest, Thomas Brown, shares the devastating story of his brother who committed suicide in 2001. Feeling broken and grief stricken, Thomas sunk down into sorrow and defeat...as we all would, given such a terrible loss. It wasn't until 10 years later that Thomas decided to do something about his loss and try to make sure that what happened with his brother WOULD NOT happen to anyone else. He is creative, visionary and filled with good works-and we need more people like this in the world! To discover more about this exemplary (and hard working!) human being, click here!Thomas has two podcasts as well as his book, 2012: A Bicycle Odyssey which shares the exploits of organizing a cross-country adventure, embarking on the wild journey, and finding one’s way back home. I urge you to check it out!And I wanted to give you two organizations that try to keep people safe from suicide. The CDC has this website filled with all sorts of important information around recognizing the signs when someone might self harm, and how to help them. And because September is Suicide Prevention Month, this subject is more important than ever! The National Alliance on Mental Illness also has essential information around this subject. Now, for your bit of beauty....how about this selection of photos for The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards? It seems the natural world is up for hijinks as well-and I have to say my fav is the lion roaring at her mate...I mean, we all have a limit, don't we? Please check out these finalists and laugh at how beautiful (and zany) the world can be.

S17 Ep 203S17 Ep203: 203: Interview: Kyleigh Weathers ~ The Miracle of Divine Timing (or, How the Doctor You Need Desparately Just Happens To Be There!)

Kyleigh's story is nothing short of extraordinary. And when I first entertained the notion of having her on the podcast it was really for her unique journey from Mormon missionary to being kicked out; then getting married to a woman and then only a few short years later getting married to a man! I thought, I need to know more! People's choices and their journeys in life have always enchanted me...especially when they've landed in such a positive and gorgeous place as Kyleigh has. But it's her miracle this week that had the both of us choking up-powerful, frustrating and terrifying...it has a happy ending! (and fun human being!! did I mention that she is SUPER FUN??) She is an author as well as depth hypnosis practitioner and somehow has made all of it fit together (and we talk about how to do that in this episode!)She's also had a few magical experiences in her life (I mean, besides just deciding to become a talented drummer later in life, that is a miracle in itself! S17 Ep 202S17 Ep202: 202: The Byte: Clementine Moss ~ The Miracle of the Hard Rock Drummer, Baby!!

bonus

Clementine Moss is a super deluxe fab human being you all-and it's not only because she's a hard rock drummer, who founded the Zeppelin tribute band ZEPPARELLA (what a dreamy badass, no?) or that she just decided one day to become a musician IN HER 20'S!! Say what? But that decision has shaped her life today-as a founder of several other bands, a touring musician having adventures on the road and an all around thoughtful and dynamic human being. I def could not do that!) which she shares in this episode! To read a bit more about this dreamy human click here for her website. And for her book? S17 Ep 201S17 Ep201: 201: Judy Tuwaletstiwa ~ So MANY Magical Stories, from Saving Her Son's Life!!! to the Blessing In Being Told She Was Bad at Art!

What a gift and a blessing it was to sit by Judy's side, (at least that what it felt like during our Zoom interview) and have a conversation with this grace-filled creative! To say that she is a storyteller would be the understatement of the century...and there was SO MUCH GOODNESS in our conversation that this episode is longer than most-but I figure you won't mind because the SWEETNESS and COZINESS that Judy brings is worth every second of your day! (and mine, obvs). DON'T MISS THE EASTER EGG AT THE END OF THE EPISODE-WE DISCUSS MORE WONDERFULNESS THERE!!Judy is so many things, like all of us, right? But it is her art and her artist's life that we focus on...(don't even get me started that she studied with the famous painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir's grandson, as well as famous director Jean Renoir's son!!) Her work emerges through many different mediums, and each evokes deep emotion. To read up a bit more about this incredible human and the BEAUTY she is bringing into the world, head on over to her website here. Truth be told I had to be urged to reach out to Judy to be on the show-she simply gobsmacked me when I took her class, and so had to be prompted to have the guts! Thanks Barb! ;-)THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR LISTENING TO THE PODCAST!Please do consider writing a review or leaving a little rating! Those ratings and reviews are ever so important for small creators like moi!Your bit of beauty this week? This excerpt from the film Judy refers to in the interview, "Fiddler on the Roof!" Full of doubts as well as fears, Elizabeth tells the story of her life, her struggles, addictions and losses...and how it has all led to where she is today. She is unapologetic in reminding us that we are all one, and that even the Devil has his place in our World. (Hint, it's not what you think AT ALL and the answer will surprise and maybe delight you!) S17 Ep 198S17 Ep198: 198: Karl Beckstrand ~ Encountering Miracles In Unlikely Places

Please do note that this episode comes with a TRIGGER WARNING for discussions of childhood sexual abuse. It is with pleasure that I introduce everyone to my guest this week, Karl Beckstrand! Karl is a wonderfully complex human (like all of us) and we had a great discussion around ancestral stories, the stories we tell ourselves, and how stories shape this world. But it was his miracle story this week that got me ~ how, after a life shaped by his addiction to sex, Karl suddenly found the healing and the answers that he was looking for! (and guess what everyone...it was in the place that he least expected it!)And I think that a lot of things are like this in this life-that we are eternally looking for answers...or any sort of help around the issues that we are muddling through, and sometimes, those answers are in places that we are not ready to go to yet! But always, they are always there, waiting for us! To check out Karl's groovy work and his books, click here.I am ever SO GRATEFUL to all of you who listen to this podcast, and support me with sweet reviews and glorious texts telling me how much you love the pod! You'll never know how much those words mean to me.Your bit of beauty this week comes from an astonishing video shot off of Australia! (I admit it, I am a little late to the party as this happened 9 months ago!) A whale was giving birth and sharks were gathering...suddenly, from EVERYWHERE, dolphins appeared, and helped defend the calf and mother from the sharks! It is truly a jaw-dropping sight to see! Watch it here!

After this, Justin founded Clovis and Personal Evaluation Coaching, dedicated to helping people recover their metabolisms as well as their health. He is a certified Nutritional Therapist and Specialist in Sports and Fitness Nutrition, and has a devoted following, as you can see from his Tik Tok as well as Insta! (you can watch Justin and his FAB musical abilities here! -as well as get a sense of his hilarious sense of humor!)Our conversation was far ranging and filled with MAGIC...he is absolutely someone who GETS IT, and by it, I mean that our world is filled with potential, with possibility and with enough dreams for everyone! S17 Ep 188S17 Ep188: The Interview: Mickie Kennedy ~ The Real Estate Agent/Guardian Angel

Mickie tells a story of sorrow, one of grief, and indeed there is a TRIGGER WARNING for this episode...After a childhood of abuse and growing up in a community that seemingly didn't care, Mickie decided to take his own life one night. What happened that evening is completely dumbfounding and should convince us all that angels are all around us, and sometimes they sell real estate! I'll let Mickie tell the tale but until then, here is his Insta, where you can do a deeper dive into this inspiring human being! This poet and creative recites one of his works, "Vigilance" at the end of the episode. Make sure not to miss it!Thank you to everyone who listens and please do remember, RATINGS AND REVIEWS ARE SO IMPORTANT! If you like what you hear, please do me a solid and leave a little rating!Do check out the new YouTube channel...it's where you can find my guests IRL!! (you can actually see their bright and shining faces for real!)And consider supporting this pod on Patreon! Every little bit helps!Your bit of beauty this episode? This YouTube on the Rare Ghost Orchid and it's really special, really specific pollinator- the Darwin's Moth, (or Giant Hawkmoth) which has the longest tongue in the known world at up to 11.2" long! The orchid is so bizarre and was observed to have such a challenging pollination space that Darwin suggested that an insect or animal MUST exist that had an exceptionally long tongue! And YES! Hazzahhh! they finally observed this mysterious insect doing it's thang and pollinating the heck out of The Ghost Orchid! A perfect example of the scientific process and how to prove a theory...is right here in this video! Be sure to check it out! (and I think it's beautiful how nature is so complex and strange!)
