S4 Ep 103E103: Part 2 - How Do I Hire More Women?

Welcome to a first for the Celebrate Brave podcast: an unexpected but very necessary part 2 for a listener question episode, E93: How Do I Hire More Women. The original episode got an unprecedented amount of feedback. Your feedback means so much to me. So this episode is to deepen the conversation. I answer questions that came in and also push back I got. I knew in the original episode that I was giving an answer many people would find uncomfortable. Yet, I also knew it was vital to address head-on because that original question places the blame and all of the responsibility on the people that current systems, norms, and assumptions keep out. What I did not know is how much feedback and pushback was going to come. So many emails and social media messages were positive, proving that many people are open to expand, grow, and address the foundational challenge instead of continuing to be a part of the problem. These messages were inspiring and sounded like this:Wow, I never thought of it like thatThank you so much! I’m sending this to my recruiter/chief of staff. This is what I’ve been trying to describe but couldn’t find the right words…THANK YOU!How do I have this conversation with recruiting? How do I reach out to people? How do I talk to my managers about this?I answered every single email that came in and I share all those answers here. I also got a number of ridiculous messages of pushback: Women don’t get feedback but men are scared of what will happen if the woman gets offended. This is a sad outcome of the #MeToo movement. If women want success, they have to stop blaming. I share my response to people upholding the failing systems that protect poor behavior, weak standards, and affirmative action for straight, white men. Listen for the full response and know this: What was once acceptable is no longer acceptable. If you want to stay in the game of long-term success, you have to grow. You have to get very clear, create growth momentum, and then you have to hold yourselves accountable. If you’re a woman listening here, and looking to be hired: please know, there's so much opportunity, and possibility. You deserve to experience a space that is inclusive, and a welcoming space of mutual growth, a space of cultural growth of brave spaces. If that's not currently your reality, you can make it your reality. My clients build the skill of bravery. And you can too. This is all available to you and I can help. S4 Ep 102E102: A Brave Mindset Tip for Tough Career Moments: I'm Ready

Do you get hung up, stuck, and spun around because you aren’t 100% sure of who you want to become and what brave life you really want to create? You are not alone and this episode is for you. Many people struggle to get specific and get going. So this week I’m sharing a simple hack to quickly get clear, build momentum, and deepen your accountability. I use this simple hack for my clients as well as for my own growth.Complete this sentence with your own answer: “I’m ready…” For example, some of my recent clients’ answers have been: “I’m ready to be the woman who saves money every month.” “I’m ready to be the woman who opens the investment account.”“I am ready to be the woman who earns X euro every month.”“I am ready to acknowledge all the aspects and people who have helped me in the past.”“I am ready to acknowledge that I went to public school.” “I am ready to ask for help.”“I am ready to be asked for help.” “I am ready to release my employment.”“I am ready to start my own company.” “I am ready to be a full-time entrepreneur.” Then you can slowly – or quickly – identify the exact step you need to take to make your statement true. It’s time for you to decide: are you ready? Because I am. I am ready to be your coach. S4 Ep 99E99: Caroline Santinelli - Embrace Your Innate Talent to Return from Burn-Out & Transform Your Career (Client)

My client, Caroline Santinelli, shares her story of moving from burnout-driven medical leave into embracing her innate strengths, choosing her health, and creating her own business. She sums up her experience with a Brene Brown quote: “belong to yourself first.” First, she lost her voice (for real) due to stress, experienced her first panic attack, developed insomnia, kept getting sick with aches and fevers, and finally began having significant nerve pains. Finally, she realized she would rather be sick than return to work for her mental health. So she gave herself permission to take medical leave. She slowly gave herself permission to begin to belong to herself. Then she began to embrace her innate talents. Then she allowed others to be disappointed. She did the messy, deeply personal work of building her brave. Caroline is the first client who decided to build her brave to open up her own business, Terra Prosody Grant Consulting, a grant-writing boutique consulting firm. If you’re ready to learn how to belong to yourself, embrace your innate talents, and break free of the rules and judgments holding you back, this is your episode. This is your time to belong to yourself, choose yourself, craft your talents, and then leap into your brave life. S4 Ep 97E97: The Power of Investing in the Green Zone so that You Grow Your Career, Skills, and Leadership

What if you didn’t have to suffer through burnout, exhaustion, or pain before you chose yourself, your goals, and your dreams? What if, instead of suffering and then growing - losing significant amounts of time, energy, connection, and belief – you could notice, chose, and exponentially grow from “good” to “great”?In this episode, I build upon the wisdom shared in E96 with my client Nisha Shrestha - Uncovering Your Wisdom. I share my own journey of understanding when to invest in myself and the metaphor I use for it: the green, red, and yellow zones. And I offer you the breakthrough question gifted to me: what would happen if you invested when things are good?A bit of insight on how to think about the three different zones…Green Zone: You are thriving! Things are going well, you're sleeping well, you're taking care of your body, you have relationships that matter to you, you have work that you are enjoying that pays well, you have hobbies you enjoy, etc…Yellow Zone: Some of the green zone lingers, but some of it also is not and you are beginning to feel worn down.Red Zone: You’re not getting good sleep, have poor eating habits, have body pain, are underpaid, overworked, and not enjoying the world. You may be crying in the bathroom or yelling at home. You are burnt out. Hot topics from this episode:The importance of investing when things are goodThe way I used to approach investing and the one question that changed it for meMy personal vision of creation for me and my clientsDifferent ways and places my clients have invested while in the green zone to support themselvesHow investing when you're in the green zone can create so much MOREWhat working with me looks like and why integration is such an important part of the workMake sure you are on my email list for all the good stuff and be in the know at: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/63b95b9237a7fb86b1f98f71Learn more about Christine Laria: https://christinelaria.com/Related episode: https://celebratebrave.libsyn.com/ep96-nisha-uncovering-your-wisdom For more information on how you can build your brave:[email protected]://tricksteinbach.com/https://www.instagram.com/nicoletricksteinbachhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/nicoletricksteinbach/https://www.facebook.com/NicoleTrickSteinbach

S3 Ep 92E92: How You Can Change Who You Are in an Instant-- Trigger Warning

Trigger Warning: this episode include talk about gun violence, loss, death, and grief.Today on this special episode, I address one of the biggest misunderstandings about changing who you are (self-concept): that it has to take a long time. It doesn't. Even though most people believe that changing who you are *must* take a lot of time, the truth is that it doesn't have to. You can transform in one micro-second.Today I share how a massacre in an elementary school exactly 10 years ago led to an instantaneous transformation in my own self-concept.But you don't need a tragedy. You can allow a moment of clarity, a moment of experience, a moment of embrace, or a moment of release. You can transform a piece of who you are and you can change the entirety of who you are. It can be chosen or it can be spontaneous. And it can all happen in one instant. If this speaks to you, you are ready to be my client, build your brave, and become who you want to be in this world. Because this world needs you. All of you. S2 Ep 60E60: Choosing Important over Urgent to Build Your Career, Stress Less, Work Less, and Earn More

I share how to build the habit of choosing what is important over what is urgent so that you reach your goals and create your dreams. Especially as women we have been taught that prioritizing what someone somewhere labels "urgent" is better than focusing on what is actually important to us. In fact, most of us have been taught that choosing ourselves is selfish and wrong. We've been taught to leap towards others' urgent needs and desires.Yet, to actually life a full life and craft your dreams into reality, you must learn and then practice the skill of important over urgent. Listen in for much greater insight, clarity, and see me role model it for you by stepping into a podcasting break to wrap up season two. This is the last episode of season 2.
