In this episode of British Murders, I am told the story of George Murdoch by Dawn of Scottish Murders Podcast.At around 8 pm on September 29, 1983, local taxi driver George Murdoch picked up a fare from the New Marcliffe Hotel on Queens Road, Aberdeen.A short time later, he was found dead by the roadside. In the tenth and final episode of British Murders Season 6, I tell the story of Ian O'Callaghan.On January 6, 1994, Ian O'Callaghan attacked, sexually assaulted, murdered and mutilated 66-year-old widow and grandma Shirley Leach at Bury Interchange.In September 2001, Ian exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl before raping her a few days later.He remained a free man until February 2006, when he was arrested for drink-driving. In the eighth episode of British Murders Season 6, I tell the story of Gary Allen.In late 1997, Gary murdered 29-year-old mum-of-three Samantha Class in Hull, East Yorkshire. He was acquitted of her murder in early 2000.Just after Christmas 2018, Gary killed once more. This time, he murdered 38-year-old mum-of-four Alena Grlakova in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.His trial for both murders began in 2021. In the fifth volume of Killer British Murder Stories, I am told the story of Thomas Montgomery by Bobbie Holmes of Killer Stories Podcast.On September 15, 2006, 46-year-old Thomas Montgomery murdered his 22-year-old co-worker Brian Barrett in the car park outside their work.The two men were involved in an online love triangle story you must hear to believe.Thomas was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder.The media refer to this case as the 'Talhotblond' murder, and Courtney Cox later directed a TV movie adaptation of the story.This episode is the second of two collaborations Bobbie and I recently recorded. In the fifth episode of British Murders Season 6, I tell the story of David Heiss.German-born David became obsessed with 21-year-old Nottingham-based student Joanna Witton after the pair met in 2007 through a war gaming website Joanna and her boyfriend, 20-year-old Matthew Pyke, had created.Despite being rejected by Joanna, David persisted with his obsession. In the fourth episode of British Murders Season 6, I tell the story of Scottish double murderer Iain Scoular.Between October 1, 1982, and December 2, 1982, Iain Scoular murdered 36-year-old taxi driver Catherine McChord and 48-year-old midwife Elizabeth Walton in Cambuslang, Scotland.Initially, the police did not link the two murders. In the third episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Colin Hatch.⁣ On July 19, 1993, 21-year-old paedophile Colin Hatch snatched 7/8-year-old Sean Williams outside Norfolk Close tower block.⁣ Colin sexually assaulted Sean in the bedroom of his flat before suffocating him to death with a plastic bag, placing his body inside two bin bags and leaving it in the tower block's elevator. He was handed a life sentence on January 28, 1994, by Judge Nina Lowry, but no minimum term to serve was set.
