The Next Generation Psychedelic Molecule You've Probably Never Heard Of, Apps For Plant Medicine Journeys, Futuristic Garden-Cities & More With Field Trip Health's Ronan Levy.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/ronan Believing that you should never hesitate to trade your cow for a handful of magic beans, my friend and my guest on today's podcast - Ronan Levy - has built a career out of doing things that others say cannot be done. Ronan started his career as a securities lawyer at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP but left that after realizing he was much too creative for the profession of law. Since then, Ronan has helped launch businesses across a number of industries from gold, to cannabis, and, most recently, in psychedelics where he is a co-founder and the Executive Chairman of Field Trip Health Ltd. (NASDAQ: FTRP), a global leader in the development and delivery of psychedelic therapies. When not being thoroughly incorrigible, Ronan lives in Toronto with his wife and two children. He's also the host of the podcast "FieldTripping", on which I've been a guest in this episode. Field Trip Health, Inc., is the world's first mental wellness company focused on psychedelics and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, which at the time was opening the first medical centers—first in Toronto, then in Chicago, New York, Seattle, Houston, Atlanta, Stamford and LA—dedicated exclusively to the administration of psychedelics, in a “spa-like” setting. During our discussion, you'll discover: -Various ways Field Trip Health provides therapy and psychedelic journeys... -Psychedelics beside ketamine we may see legalized in the near future... -The history of Field Trip Health's psilocybin mimicking drug... -Cost considerations for psychedelic journeys now and in the future... -And much more! Muscle Gain, Fat Loss, Stem Cells In the D*ck, Microdosing Plant Medicines, Splenda, Amino Acids, Content Creation, Adult Slurpees & More With Filmmaker & Content Creator Darren Doane.

bengreenfieldfitness.com/doane Darren Doane is a filmmaker, actor, and music video director who has produced and edited projects for a client list that includes Toyota, Hurley/Nike, Saatchi & Saatchi, Atlantic Records, JBL and Universal Records. He started his early music video work with Ken Daurio and directed several early Blink-182 music videos, as well as two live action short film adaptations of the Malibu Comics superheroes Hardcase (a six-minute music video style promo starring British kickboxer Gary Daniels) and Firearm (a 35-minute-long movie which served as a prequel to the actual comic, and came as a VHS packaged alongside specially ordered copies of the comic's #0). In fact, in Hardcase #1 there's a single panel in-joke referencing a "D. Doane" as being the director of "Hardcase: The Movie." Darren is also a new friend of mine, and we've not only been hanging out and recording a few quite epic videos that I have a hunch you'll enjoy (think cooking and food porn on steroids!), but on a recent foray of mine to my old haunting grounds in Moscow, Idaho, we also sat down at the ungodly hour of 7am at his home recording studio inside a giant shipping container recorded a bit of a "random show" episode for you. This wild free-for-all discussion includes stem cells in the d*ck, microdosing plant medicines, Splenda, amino acids, Levitical priests, weight loss, content creation and adult slurpees from Starbucks. Buckle in for this one! Here's a small taste of what you'll hear in this episode. (Remember, extensive show notes for this and each episode of the show can be found on the Ben Greenfield Fitness website...) -Ben and Darren talk about childhood, healthy development into adulthood... -How Ben manages success without being an a-hole... -How to do gimmicky-looking things without giving it excessive hype... -Why that caramelized, high-sugar, foo-foo coffee drink is basically an adult Slurpee... Time Traveling To Heal Trauma, Hyper-Customization Of Diet & Supplements, Past Life vs. Epigenetics & Much More With Teri Cochrane.

If you've been following me for any period of time, then you probably have heard me mention the fascinating Dr. Teri Cochrane. Teri is an integrative practitioner and thought leader in personalized health care, and her one-on-one work in so-called "energy medicine" has been so highly recommended to me by so many in the health industry who I know and trust, that I just had to have her out to my home in Spokane to experience what she does one-on-one. Teri specializes in complex health conditions in her private clinical practice. She has also developed her own methodology that integrates a multi-level nutritional approach—including biochemistry, nutrition, genetic tendencies, herbology, and counseling—to develop what she calls a "bio-individualized plan" for her clients. But Teri's work goes far, far beyond mere nutritional programming, and in this podcast we take a deep dive into some pretty crazy modalities and concepts that I think are going to blow your mind. For an immersive dive into everything Teri and I talk about, check out the extensive show notes my team and I have put together for this interview! bengreenfieldfitness.com/teri In this episode, you'll hear: -How Teri became immersed in the fields of energy and intuition... -How to pierce the veil of time and tap into the universal fruit of wisdom... -How Teri is different from the garden variety fortune teller at the county fair... -Teri's process for bringing healing after discerning blockers to a person's healing... Why Wild-Caught Fish Isn't Necessarily Better, The Truth About Farmed Fish, How To Get Guilt-Free, Gourmet Seafood, Delicious DIY Sushi & Sashimi Recipes & Much More!

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/seatopiapodcast A few times in the past month, I've mentioned that I've been destroying sushi restaurants for myself, forever. OK, maybe a bit of an overexaggeration, but, basically, me and my family have been making my own amazing, mouthwatering, super-clean sushi and sashimi in my own kitchen now, thanks to a new service I discovered called "SEATOPIA". Over the last 8 years, the owner, and my guest on today's show - James Arthur Smith - has been personally visiting aquaculture farms, eating the feed the fish eat, swimming in, under and around the grow out pens, and lab testing the harvested products to quantity claims. Through SEATOPIA, James is endeavoring to revolutionize the seafood supply chain and empower health conscious consumers to directly support artisan farms, helping to foster regenerative seafood practices. He thinks that despite the information shared in documentaries like SEASPIRACY, there are a handful of success stories of sustainable fisheries and innovative aquaculture projects regenerating the oceans while producing some of the healthiest protein on the planet. For the last 8 years James Arthur has been connecting boutique aquaculture projects from around the world with award-winning farm-to-table restaurants. Through these relationships James Arthur developed one of the most trusted wholesale seafood distribution businesses in Southern California catering to world renowned Farm-To-Table restaurants and Michellin Star Chefs. When Covid-19 closed restaurants, James Arthur switched his energy to developing a 100% plastic & styrofoam free home delivery box for truly sustainable seafood. Today, SEATOPIA is revolutionizing the seafood supply chain by connecting home cooks with sushi-grade products directly from the world's best farms and has garnered a cult-like following from health conscious foodies and environmentalists nationwide. During our discussion, you'll discover: -How Seatopia is the pescatarian version of Butcher Box... -Sustainable vs. conventional fish farming practices... -James' thoughts on the Seaspiracy documentary... -Food porn: Ben and James rave about Seatopia products... Ben Greenfield's Indispensable Daily Habits, Favorite Books, Top Quotes, Best Biohacking Tips & Much, Much More!

https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/magazineinterview Recently, I agreed to do an interview for a magazine called Biohackers Update, and they sent over questions in advance. Now, they were pretty intriguing and adventurous questions. So interesting, in fact, were the questions, that I decided to turn the entire interview into a podcast for you...and I think you'll enjoy it quite a bit. Biohackers Update is committed to bringing readers all of the important updates from the world biohacking community while sharing positive tips, tricks, and trends for self-improvement. With a focus on scientific studies, statistics, and data science, the content in Biohackers Update is based on methodical approaches and validated information (which you know I appreciate). Because I really enjoyed answering the questions for this interview, I thought it would be kind of nice to share a collection of my replies in long-form audio, or what I affectionally call a "solosode." The questions spanned topics from advice for a pandemic-stricken world, to my updated daily routine, to my favorite quotes and book. We also talk about what is most probably most top-of-mind for me right now, which is the rebranding of Ben Greenfield Fitness into Ben Greenfield Life, the mission of Ben Greenfield Life, and how this shift aligns with my own ultimate purpose. So, a big thanks to Biohackers Update for the inspiration for this episode, and feel free to knock yourself out with comprehensive show notes below. In this episode, you'll discover: -Ben's ultimate mission in life...07:20 -Ben's approach to healing, and how it differs from a conventional approach...28:15 -Ben's favorite books...42:10 -What advice do you have for the pandemic-stricken world?...1:06:03 Upcoming Events: Join me and my wife Jessa at Runga for The Gathering. Is Ben Greenfield Going To Get Vaccinated, Which Vaccine Is The Safest, The Future Of Cutting-Edge Regenerative Medicine Therapies & More With Dr. Matthew Cook

https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/cook He's back... ...one of my most popular podcast guests of all time. I recently flew down to Dr. Matthew Cook's office in San Jose, at a location called BioReset™️ Medical, for a cutting-edge knee repair protocol, similar to the type of new knee and cartilage fixing science you can read about here. Of course, we just had to get on the mics to record a podcast for you, and in addition to talking all things cutting-edge joint therapy, peptides, and regenerative medicine, we also delved into what I consider to be one of the most important discussions I've ever had on my show—particularly related to worldwide health, Covid, vaccinations, long-haul Covid syndrome, and perhaps the most important consideration of all: whether or not I personally plan to get vaccinated (I think you'll be quite surprised at the ultimate outcome of the discussion, which begins about the 38:00 mark). He is President and Founder of BioReset™️ Medical and Medical Advisor of BioReset Network. He is a board-certified anesthesiologist with over 20 years of experience in practicing medicine, focusing the last 14 years on functional and regenerative medicine. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and has completed a fellowship in functional medicine. Dr. Matthew Cook’s early career as an anesthesiologist and medical director of an outpatient surgery center that specialized in sports medicine and orthopedic procedures provided invaluable training in the skills that are needed to become a leader in the emerging field of regenerative medicine. His practice, BioReset™️ Medical, provides treatments for conditions ranging from pain and complex illness to anti-aging and wellness. He treats some of the most challenging to diagnose and difficult to live with ailments that people suffer from today, including Lyme disease, chronic pain, PTSD, and mycotoxin illness. Dr. Cook’s approach is to use the most non-invasive, natural, and integrative treatments possible. In this discussion with Dr. Matthew Cook, you'll discover: -The circumstances that brought Ben to Matt's office most recently...09:20 -Why Ben's knee got worse and not better with all the treatment it received...16:50 -A new protocol that allows joint healing without invasive surgery...21:00 -Dr. Matthew Cook and his take on Covid and vaccines...38:05 -Concerns with toxins and microplastics in the vaccines...45:00 -Dr. Matthew Cook and his thoughts on alternative, non-vaccine treatments for Covid and the vaccine...49:45 -How effective are peptides at preventing or treating Covid...56:40 -What are the best vaccination options available?...1:00:45 -Should someone who has had Covid be a pariah in society if they aren't vaccinated?...1:12:15 -Ben's thoughts on vaccines after this discussion with Dr. Matthew Cook...1:15:25 -Will Ben Greenfield get the Covid vaccine, or will he not?...1:19:40 -And much more! How An Olympic Champion Overcame Near Death, Healed His Gut & Shoulder & Changed The Nutritional World Forever With "Seed Oils": An Interview With Andreas Wecker

https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/seedoils Andreas Wecker, my guest on today's podcast, is a former German gymnast who had a long and successful career. He was European, World and Olympic champion. His greatest achievement was the gold medal on high bar at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. There, he beat gymnasts of such quality as Vitaly Scherbo and Alexei Nemov. In 1989 Wecker was named the last East German Sportsman of the Year. He competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin / Sportvereinigung (SV) Dynamo. Wecker qualified for the German team for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Just days before his events, he suffered a serious shoulder injury where he tore a bicep muscle in his shoulder, ending his career. Injured and processing the revelation that his career was on indefinite hold, Andreas followed a rigid six-week recovery plan before pushing ahead to tour as a professional gymnastics exhibitionist. Like many other athletes, he found himself dependent on a combination of painkillers, aspirin, and coffee to cope with the lingering pain and get him through practices and performances. In what has become an all-too-familiar story of drug dependence, Andreas’ dependence on painkillers went on for 14 years—until he finally stepped away from his athletic pursuits in 2004. When he tried to stop taking the pills, he noted an immediate, rapid deterioration in his health and well-being. Over a six-week period in 2006, Andreas lost 45 pounds and 80 percent of his blood supply. Soon admitted to the hospital, doctors diagnosed Andreas with Crohn’s Disease (CD). In the following weeks, he received eight blood transfusions and immediately began a treatment plan, with hopes of reversing his body’s decline. After nearly two months in the hospital, Andreas realized that the 33 pills he was taking every single day were not improving his condition. Defeated, he acknowledged that the pills only temporarily alleviated some of the most severe symptoms. Despite struggling with feelings of defeat, Andreas knew this could not be the only cure. The treatment plan was causing his body to rapidly change and progressively weaken. Without some sort of miracle, the next step would be major surgery to remove large portions of his digestive tract. As Andreas saw it, he had three options: -Die from Crohn’s Disease-Die from the medications-Find another option entirely He confided in a friend whose family member was also suffering from Crohn’s, and this friend mentioned an alternative that involved using fresh-pressed flaxseed oil. Intrigued and desperate, Andreas decided to try it. He began supplementing his prescribed medications with fresh-pressed flaxseed oil. Within a short period of time, he was surprised to find the pain and inflammation notably relieved. He decided to take a chance. At the age of 36, Andreas made the brave choice to check himself out of the hospital and do something drastic to change his life. Armed with flax seeds, coriander, and five seed blend, Andreas began taking this combination of supplements daily. Over the next weeks, as he reduced the number of pharmaceutical pills he took every day and continued taking the flaxseed oils, the side effects from the medications wore off. After three months of supplementing, he stopped taking the prescribed medications for Crohn’s Disease entirely. Changes to his diet, combined with the fresh-pressed flaxseed oil, changed Andreas’ approach to managing his health problems. The improvements in his condition testified to the flaxseed oil’s successful repair work on his body. Today, Wecker is the chairman and founder of Andreas Seed Oils, headquartered in Bend, Oregon and distributed through his office in Germany. Andreas Seed Oils has now been pressing the world’s purest oils for over 11 years. Through his proprietary German Cold-Press technology, these oils are pressed at ultra-low temperatures to eliminate oxidation and maintain its molecular integrity. This technology is so delicate yet powerful that each seed’s nutritional molecules remain undamaged and intact, resulting in the purest and most effective oils instantly absorbed by the body. Andreas Seed Oils are entirely free of any metals, solvents, pesticides, or preservatives. In today's podcast, we take a deep dive into Andreas's oils, how they are different, how to use them, the difference between seed oils and vegetable oils and much more! During our discussion, you'll discover: -How Andreas was "slowly dying" due to a mysterious CO2 leak in his home...05:40 -How a gymnastics injury led Andreas onto the path of consuming seed oils...08:20 -Problems with the seed expeller at your local Whole Foods...14:30 -How a mechanic (not an engineer) literally changed Andreas' health for the better forever...19:45 -Healing properties of Andreas' flax seed oil on the gut...25:05 -Why Andreas' products are not labeled "certified organic"...36:05 -Benefits of cooking with seed oils...42:00 -The research behind Andreas' oils...46:37 -What's coming

The Confusing Gut Killer That Fogs Your Brain, Strips Your Body Of Nutrients & Strips The Fun Out Of Food: Everything You Need To Know About Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

bengreenfieldfitness.com/ibdpodcast While recently in Los Angeles at the Ancestral Health Symposium, I had the pleasure of a long, sunshine walk with several of the speakers and presenters. Perhaps you already heard my chat that I recorded with Chris Kelly as part of that trip. But I also met a couple of new friends who are real ninjas when it comes to something called "IBD" (inflammatory bowel disease). On my left side during the walk was Andrew Kornfeld ([email protected]), who holds degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and is an award-winning educator, organizer, and published author. Andrew has Crohn’s disease, and over the course of a decade and a half has developed a tailored and evidence-based protocol that allowed him to achieve robust, lasting clinical remission from his IBD. Andrew founded IBDCoach so others with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis could benefit from the strategic lessons and research he has conducted in his personal pursuit of health. And on my right side was Amy Loftus ([email protected]), who holds a B.A. in Biological Anthropology and an M.A. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley, and works alongside Andrew to run the operations and educational arm of IBDCoach. Amy combines her decade of K-12 classroom teaching experience, her work as a software engineer at a Silicon Valley health tech startup, and her years as an IBD spouse to empower IBDCoach members and their families with the resources they need to achieve their remission goals. Founded in 2019, IBDCoach is the brainchild of Andrew and Amy, who are on a mission to change healthcare by tackling inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis in a capacity never attempted before. In their program, members work to achieve long-lasting remission through immersive science education, community support, and a unique form of health coaching that emphasizes strategic, patient-driven, and patient-empowered actions. IBDCoach is the first program of its kind to provide comprehensive scientific information in one accessible location as an essential adjunct to standard medical care. Initial results from dozens of clients are highly positive including amelioration in symptoms and disease activity, reduced inflammatory markers, lifelong friendships formed, and lives changed for the better. The founders of IBDCoach, Andrew Kornfeld and Amy Loftus, have both personal and professional experience with inflammatory bowel diseases. If you or someone you know is struggling with inflammatory bowel disease, you can check out Andrew and Amy’s work at ibd.coach. In this episode, you'll discover: -Andrew and Amy's experiences with IBD...07:00 -Predisposing factors that may make someone susceptible to IBD...13:30 -How IBD causes drastic consequences to health and the body...17:40 -The best test to determine if you have or potentially have IBD...20:55 -3-step model to treat IBD: -Step 1: Reduce inflammation...26:11 -Step 2: Nourish the microbiome...33:10 -Step 3: Repair the barrier...39:24 -How neuroplasticity affects causes and treatments for IBD...45:10 -How the IBD coach program works...48:36 -Biggest mistakes people make when diagnosing or treating IBD...50:00 -The best diet when you have IBD...52:07 -Using HRV tracking to consume food wisely...59:36 -The epidemic in America that misses the front page news...1:03:15 -And much more!... Loneliness, Community-Building, Introversion, Church, Monogamy & More With Chris Kelly Of Nourish Balance Thrive.

bengreenfieldfitness.com/chrisandben While recently in Los Angeles at the Ancestral Health Symposium, I had the pleasure of a long, sunshine walk with my friend Chris Kelly. We brought a microphone along and recorded a fantastic chat for you with topics including... The growing epidemic of loneliness and how building a community can protect you biologically. How introversion can be steered towards a great deal of social good. My formula for the best dinner party guest list. The rewards of systematic service to others. And much more... So who is Chris Kelly? Chris Kelly is a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, a graduate of the Kalish Institute, and the founder of Nourish Balance Thrive. As a competitive cyclist, Chris trained hard and got fast, loving the buzz of a great workout session. However, at a certain point, he realized that in hindsight he spent most of his life feeling like crap—and his biomarkers spelled impending doom. Chris struggled with insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, his libido plummeted, and his recovery times took a nosedive. He wanted to train well, but he also wanted to enjoy the rest of his life. So Chris transitioned to a Paleo-type diet, reading a book a week on the subject for a year, but that was only half the solution. The other half came through experimenting with and perfecting a system of functional medicine—he effectively became his own guinea pig. Now, Chris's body is back in balance—his symptoms have disappeared, his diet’s right for him, and his family life is as enjoyable as his training. In 2014, Chris quit his job as a software engineer to focus on helping athletes enjoy optimum fitness and health. Nourish Balance Thrive isn't just a diet or motivational coaching—rather, it's the perfect blend of a lab-based supplement plan, expert dietary advice, and consultative performance planning uniquely tailored to your lifestyle. It's kind of the ultimate biohacking training course with a practical component developed just for you, with the goal of arming you with the knowledge you need to stay fit and healthy for life. Chris Kelly has also been on my podcast on the following episodes: The Little-Known Test That Tells You Everything You Need To Know About Your Metabolism. 7 Signs Your Cortisol And Adrenals Are Broken. In this special two-part episode that includes my talk about loneliness given at the Ancestral Health Symposium (AHS), you'll discover: Part 1 - Ben and Chris Kelly -How Ben had a hand in founding Nourish Balance Thrive...09:15 -Why Ben chose to talk about "loneliness" at the AHS...13:15 -Ben's thoughts on the introverted personality...18:48 -How Ben has used his introverted nature to his advantage in his personal and professional life...25:15 -The thing we often get wrong when we think of building community...39:55 -Tools and resources to help build community...46:30 -How Ben's interaction with the church has influenced his person and message...55:04 -Recreating some of the community-building traditions that have been lost through the centuries...1:08:26 -One thing you can do to reduce loneliness today...1:17:55 Part 2 - Ben's presentation at the Ancestral Health Symposium...1:23:27 -Apps and technology that can enhance community... -Be active in the community...1:27:36 -Be active in your local church...1:29:00 -Engage in family relationships...1:29:57 -Reclaim Real Conversation...1:31:13 -Have a mission or purpose statement...1:32:13 -Shared experiences...1:35:57 -Embrace the sacredness of commerce...1:37:34 -And much more!... The Most Important Book About Money I've Ever Read - Sacred Economics: Money, Gift & Society in the Age of Transition With Charles Eisenstein.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/sacredeconomics I recently finished what I now consider to be one of the most important and transformative financial books I've ever read: Sacred Economics, Revised: Money, Gift & Society in the Age of Transition by Charles Eisenstein. The book traces the history of money, from ancient gift economies to modern capitalism, and the new revised edition includes new material on cryptocurrencies and emerging research that has come out since the book's original publication. Charles shows how capitalism contributes to alienation, competition, and scarcity; destroys community; and necessitates endless growth at the cost of social and environmental devastation. Today, these trends have reached their extreme - and their collapse presents a golden opportunity to transition to a more connected, ecological, and sustainable way of being. Charles describes the deeper narratives beneath our economic system, and how we can reimagine it to align with a new story. Applying a broadly integrated synthesis of theory, policy, and practice, he explores avant-garde concepts of the New Economics, including negative-interest currencies, local economies, gift economics, cryptocurrencies, and the restoration of the commons. Tapping into a rich lineage of conventional and unconventional economic thought, he presents a vision that is original yet commonsense, radical yet gentle, and increasingly relevant as the crises of our civilization deepen. Charles is an American public speaker and author. His work covers a wide range of topics, including the history of human civilization, economics, spirituality, and the ecology movement. Key themes explored include anti-consumerism, interdependence, and how myth and narrative influence culture. His books include: Sacred Economics Climate: A New Story The Ascent of Humanity, and The More Beautiful World our Hearts Know is Possible My initial introduction to Charles and his writing was when I discovered his wonderful essay The Coronation, which you can read here. During our discussion, you'll discover: -What is "sacredness" and how has humanity strayed from it...08:27 -How a "gift economy" facilitated community in past ages...15:01 -How our own "inner compass" might dictate fairness and equity in a gift economy...23:48 -Why did money come about in the first place?...33:11 -How relationships deteriorate when money becomes the source of value, versus that which it once symbolized...38:22 -Environmental implications of this loss of sacredness in economy...40:43 -The problem with usury aka interest...47:12 -How money is created by debt...51:15 -How to begin to shift to a more sacred economy...57:28 -Why Charles' book may be one of the most important financial books you've ever read...1:05:11 -And much more! Upcoming Events: Las Vegas Keto Expo (October 15-16, 2021). Ben will be speaking at the Las Vegas Keto Expo along with 13 other keto experts. Evolutionary Herbalism: Part 2 - The Fascinating Science, Spirituality & Medicines Of The Plant Kingdom With Sajah Popham.

bengreenfieldfitness.com/evolutionaryherbalism2 When I interviewed Gordon Wilson in the show "Are Christians Destroying The Environment? A Biblical Approach to Environmentalism and the “Dominion Mandate.”, I mentioned a book called The Lost Language of Plants by Stephen Buhner, which describes the innate intelligence built into the plant kingdom, and the loss of natural connectivity we rational, scientific humans have developed when it comes to the plant kingdom. Since then, I've continued my interest in the, shall we say, more spiritual, medicinal, and little-known aspects of the plant kingdom, including trees, leaves, roots, herbs, flowers, flower essences, essential oils, plant medicines, and beyond. One book I've discovered along the way is Evolutionary Herbalism: Science, Spirituality, and Medicine from the Heart of Nature by today's podcast guest, Sajah Popham. In Sajah's book, which weaves together herbal and medical traditions from around the world into a singular cohesive model, you're guided from an herbal practitioner's point of view to a comprehensive understanding of the practice and philosophy of healing with herbs. Sajah presents an innovative approach to herbalism that considers the holistic relationship among plants, humans, and the underlying archetypal patterns in nature. Organized into five parts moving from the microcosmic to the universal, Sajah's work explores a unique integration of clinical herbalism, Ayurveda, medical astrology, spagyric alchemy, and medical and esoteric traditions from across the world in a truly holistic system of plant medicine. A balance of the heart and the mind, the science and spirit of people and plants, Evolutionary Herbalism provides a holistic context for how plants can be used for transformational levels of healing for the body, spirit, and soul. For both the student herbalist and experienced practitioner, Popham's original perspectives guide you to a more intimate, synergistic, and intuitive relationship with the plant kingdom, people, and nature as a whole. Sajah Popham's mission is to share knowledge, tools, and medicine that promote the healing power of plants —to not just heal our bodies of disease, but to assist in the evolution of human consciousness back into its natural state. His holistic focus is on finding the universal principles and practices across herbal traditions and using plants in a way that not only brings about physical healing and rejuvenation but psychological and emotional health along with spiritual transformation. Sajah holds a degree in Herbal Sciences from Bastyr University and has studied herbal traditions across the world and with some of North America's top clinical practitioners. He lives in the Pacific Northwest forest with his wife Whitney. Sajah's approach unites traditional models in a way that utilizes the whole plant (chemistry, energetics, and spirit) to heal the whole person (body, spirit, and soul) by getting to the root causes of disease. During our discussion, you'll discover: -How specific plant parts correspond to the four physical elements...07:10 -How each of us have different elemental "types"...14:08 -How we might design our lives based on our elemental types...25:40 -How to "type" a plant and know what elements it would feed and need...34:50 -What Sajah is skeptical about merging technology with understanding plants on a deep level...40:55 -Should we be concerned about eating plants due to their natural defense mechanisms...43:55 -An ideal day of eating for Sajah...48:25 -Some of the painful cuts Sajah had to make in his book...49:50 -And much more!... Devoured By Cannabis: Weed, Liberty, Legalization (& Whether Christians Should Smoke Marijuana) With Doug Wilson.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/devouredbycannabis Pastor Doug Wilson first joined me for a podcast episode about his book Confessions of a Food Catholic, for which we recorded a show entitled, "Why Your Pursuit Of A Better Body & The Perfect Diet Is Never Going To Make You Happy, How Christians Should Make Food Choices, The Ultimate Source Of Joy & Much More". Since then, Doug has, as is his usual practice, been churning out plenty more books, including a couple of my favorite fictional titles of his Ecochondriacs and Ride, Sally, Ride, and quite recently, the book Devoured by Cannabis: Weed, Liberty, and Legalization, which is the topic of this podcast. In Devoured by Cannabis, Doug argues that marijuana usage is not comparable to alcohol consumption or to smoking cigarettes, and demonstrates that the use of recreational marijuana is definitely not an option for Christians, and just a bad idea in general. He says that liberty for potheads means tyranny for everyone, including the smokers enslaved by the drug. Considering I just interviewed Josiah Hesse about his book Runner’s High: How a Movement of Cannabis-Fueled Athletes Is Changing the Science of Sports, I thought it would be timely to get Doug's take on the topic too. Doug has been a family friend for years, and is the minister of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, which is a member of the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC) and the church I and my wife Jessa attended all throughout my childhood and during college. After his stint in the submarine service of the U.S. Navy, he attended the University of Idaho where he obtained an MA in philosophy. As one of its founders, Doug has served on the board of Logos School, a classical and Christian school (K-12), since its inception. He is also a Senior Fellow of theology at New St. Andrews College, which I consider to be one of the better liberal arts institutions in the country. He is the author of numerous books, including Reforming Marriage, The Case for Classical Christian Education, Letter from a Christian Citizen, and Blackthorn Winter. Doug is also the general editor for the Omnibus textbook series. You can check out his blog here, and his metric ton of grandkids can be found spread across the planet with rapidly increasing frequency. Doug's brother, Gordon Wilson, has also joined me for the podcast "Are Christians Destroying The Environment? A Biblical Approach to Environmentalism and the “Dominion Mandate.”. How Rich Guys Stay Fit, Heart Rate Recovery, Resting Heart Rate Tracking, Heart Rate Variability, Cold Soak Temperatures, Little-Known Pre-Sleep Supplements & Much More With Keith Rabois.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/Keith Keith Rabois is the General Partner at Founders Fund. He has a unique background as an entrepreneurial executive and investor. Since 2000, he has been instrumental in driving five startups from their early stages to successful IPOs. He has provided seed capital to another ten companies that are currently valued at over $1 B, including Airbnb, Lyft, YouTube, Wish, Yammer. Since March 2013, Keith Rabois has served as a senior partner at Khosla Ventures, a technology venture capital fund founded by Vinod Khosla. He specializes in funding early-stage companies with a primary focus in consumer, financial services and health care innovation. At the same time, Keith co-founded Opendoor, a startup which transforms the painful process of selling a home into delightful and immediate experience. At KV, Rabois has led investments in a broad array of startups including, DoorDash, Stripe, Thoughtspot, Affirm, Even Financial and Piazza. Over the prior decade, he forged several of the most important new social and commerce platforms. Keith began his career in the industry as Executive Vice President of Business Development & Public Policy at PayPal [NASDAQ: PYPL, later acquired by EBAY] and subsequently served in influential roles at LinkedIn [NYSE: LNKD] and as a chief operating officer of Square [NASDAQ: SQ]. But he's also a bit of a fitness and optimization nerd, often heard championing the value of fitness, sleep and heart rate tracking, and recently leading 'big tech' scions in Miami fitness bubble, as a recent news article cited "The former PayPal exec, who has invested in LinkedIn, Square and Yelp, is teaching a Barry’s Bootcamp class in Miami with tech industry insiders", where he was quoted as saying that he believes the future of fitness in a post-pandemic world will be a combination of at-home meets in-person workouts. “I think the future will be a hybrid. Resistance training is a critical ingredient for everybody’s workout and it’s very difficult for people to do strength training at home. People need both guidance and form correction. I think some people will allocate some time to training at home just for convenience, then people like to get inspired with in-person classes -- running next to someone on a treadmill urges you to run faster; seeing other people lifting dumbbells encourages you to lift heavier weights, plus you’re in a community meeting new people and engaging with new people. Some people will take one or two classes a week and then exercise on their own." During our discussion, you'll discover: -How Keith measures his health through the heart rate...08:30 -A typical workout for Keith...12:20 -How Ben and Keith track and manage their sleep...22:55 -Keith and Ben's big wins in caring for the body and brain...28:55 -Supplements and biohacks Keith uses to enhance sleep...45:48 -What Keith has for breakfast...50:45 -Hacks in the workplace...54:45 -What a typical day looks like for both Keith and Ben...57:40 -What things in the fitness and biohacking industry excites Keith...1:04:20 -Flaws with the exciting, yet underachieving personalized health services and products industry...1:08:55 -And much more... Evolutionary Herbalism: Part 1 - The Fascinating Science, Spirituality & Medicines Of The Plant Kingdom.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/herbalism When I interviewed Gordon Wilson in the show "Are Christians Destroying The Environment? A Biblical Approach to Environmentalism and the “Dominion Mandate.”, I mentioned a book called The Lost Language of Plants by Stephen Buhner, describing the innate intelligence built into the plant kingdom, and the loss of natural connectivity we rational, scientific humans have developed when it comes to the plant kingdom. In the book, weaving together herbal and medical traditions from around the world into a singular cohesive model, you're guided from an herbal practitioner's point of view to a comprehensive understanding of the practice and philosophy of healing with herbs. Biohacking Muscle Growth: How To Maximize Anabolism & Muscle Hypertrophy Using Targeted Delivery Of Nutrients To Muscle Tissue During Exercise, With Professional Bodybuilder Milos Sarcev.

It's time to take a deep dive into all things pre-, post-, and during-workout nutrition to maximize recovery, anabolism, muscle hypertrophy, and much more with Milos Sarcev — one of the top bodybuilders of all time. Milos was born on January 17, 1964 in Novi Sad, Serbia (former Yugoslavia), grew up in Bečej, and at an early age got involved in numerous sporting activities—participating in judo, karate, swimming, soccer, and basketball tournaments as a teenager. At the age of 17, he was introduced to weightlifting and immediately fell in love with bodybuilding. Four years later, he started competing, entered and won his province title (Mr. Vojvodina), his republic title (Mr. Serbia), and finally national title (Mr. Yugoslavia) before going on to compete on the international scene (Mr. Europe and Mr. Universe). He won the 1989 Amateur Mr. Universe competition and started competing as a professional in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB). Milos studied nutritional technology at the University of Novi Sad and moved to the USA in 1987 to pursue his bodybuilding career. In 1989 he won the Amateur Mr. Universe title, in 1991 became an IFBB professional bodybuilder, competing in over 110 bodybuilding shows worldwide (72 of which were IFBB professional competitions), and qualified for the Mr. Olympia contest for 10 consecutive years in the hardest era of bodybuilding (1990s). After his competitive career, Milos became known for coaching/advising numerous professional athletes and Olympic medalists. He took a part in famous BALCO Labs "Project World Record" as a nutritionist and strength and conditioning coach for Tim Montgomery—creating the fastest man alive by breaking the World Record on the 100-meter sprint (9.77 seconds) after less than 9 months of coaching. As a bodybuilding coach, he advised over 100 IFBB professional bodybuilders, of which 36 qualified for the most prestigious Mr. Olympia competition. He is a renowned international nutritional expert and speaker; professional trainer; and strength, conditioning, and contest preparation consultant with over 35 years of firsthand industry experience. Milos has become one of the most prominent authorities on nutrition and the human body as relates to athletic performance, earning him the industry moniker “The Mind.” He is considered to be one of the most influential bodybuilders in history, pioneering the usage of specific intra-workout nutritional sports supplementation through his Hyperemia Advantage System, which revolutionized the whole sports supplementation industry. Milos' methods of training and hormonal manipulation for achieving a hyper-anabolic state and maximal hypertrophy are now accepted by millions around the world. During this discussion, you'll discover: -The background on Milos' interest on muscle growth...6:25 -Milos' ideas and theories put into real-world practice...16:00 -The substances Milos uses alongside EAAs during training...29:45 -Proper timing and dosage of supplementation before and during a workout...37:15 -How Milos structures his diet for optimal training...42:00 -Why supplementation during the workout is necessary...45:45 -How post-workout supplement differs from the pre-, and during-workout...49:15 -Milos' carnosine strategy...54:05 -What Milos' training looked like during his peak vs. now...57:10 -Why essential amino acids are so...essential...1:10:05 Milos' actual training - Body split workouts, warm-up, and exercise selection: I always begin my workout with 10 minutes of cardio, then move to leg extensions to further warm up my muscles, tendons, and ligaments. I take three seconds to raise the weight, two seconds to hold it at the top, and three seconds to complete the negative. Although I don't advocate locking out your knees on squats, lunges, and leg presses, I do recommend fully contracting your quads on leg extensions, and this requires a momentary locking-out of the knee joint. I now move to what I consider the king of all exercises: barbell squats. Even though I've already warmed up my quads with leg extensions, I still do two warm-up sets of 10 squats to warm up my hips, glutes, lower back, and calves before my three heavy working sets. My descending speed is still slow, about three seconds, but since squats are a building motion, the ascending motion is more explosive. A lot of people make the mistake of stopping between reps and resting when doing squats, but you must keep continual tension on your muscles for maximal results, and this is achieved by continual motion. Next come leg presses. I alternate from week to week between the unilateral and two-leg versions. I see so many people doing 1,000-pound 1-inch leg presses. That won't help you develop anything. For both single- and double-leg, I advocate a full range of motion. I finish off with hack squats. On two-legged leg press days, I perform the standard three sets of 10, with my feet and knees close together to hit the outer sweep of

Recapture the Rapture: Alchemist-Like Cookbooks, Carbon Dioxide & Nitric Oxide Inhalation, Sexuality, Music, Mind-Enhancing Substances & More With Jamie Wheal.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/recapturerapture My guest on today's podcast, Jamie Wheal, first joined me on the podcast episode: "Recapture the Rapture: Biohacking Sex, Tantric Breathwork, Plant Medicines For Orgasmic Enhancement & Much More!", for which the title is pretty self-explanatory regarding the wildly stimulating topics we covered on that show. Today Jamie, a so-called "neuroanthropologist" is back, describing exciting elements from his new book Recapture the Rapture: Rethinking God, Sex, and Death in a World That's Lost Its Mind - a book in which he maps out a revolutionary new practice—Hedonic Engineering—that combines neuroscience and optimal psychology. It’s an intensive program of breathing, movement, and sexuality that mends trauma, heightens inspiration and tightens connections—helping us wake up, grow up, and show up for a world that needs us all. This is a book about a big idea. And the idea is this: Slowly over the past few decades, and now suddenly, all at once, we’re suffering from a collapse in Meaning. Fundamentalism and nihilism are filling that vacuum, with consequences that affect us all. In a world that needs us at our best, diseases of despair, tribalism, and disaster fatigue are leaving us at our worst. It’s vital that we regain control of the stories we’re telling because they are shaping the future we’re creating. To do that, we have to remember our deepest inspiration, heal our pain and apathy, and connect to each other like never before. If we can do that, we’ve got a shot at solving the big problems we face. And if we can’t? Well, the dustbin of history has swallowed civilizations older and fancier than ours. This book is divided into three parts. The first, Choose Your Own Apocalypse, takes a look at our current Meaning Crisis--where we are today, why it’s so hard to make sense of the world, what might be coming next, and what to do about it. It also makes a case that many of our efforts to cope, whether anxiety and denial, or tribalism and identity politics, are likely making things worse. The middle section, The Alchemist Cookbook, applies the creative firm IDEO’s design thinking to the Meaning Crisis. This is where the book gets hands on--taking a look at the strongest evolutionary drivers that can bring about inspiration, healing, and connection. From breathing, to movement, sexuality, music, and substances--these are the everyday tools to help us wake up, grow up, and show up. AKA--how to blow yourself sky high with household materials. The final third of the book, Ethical Cult Building, focuses on the tricky nature of putting these kinds of experiences into gear and into culture—because, anytime in the past when we’ve figured out combinations of peak states and deep healing, we’ve almost always ended up with problematic culty communities. Playing with fire has left a lot of people burned. This section lays out a roadmap for sparking a thousand fires around the world--each one unique and tailored to the needs and values of its participants. Think of it as an open-source toolkit for building ethical culture. In Recapture the Rapture, Jamie takes radical research out of the extremes and applying it to the mainstream to the broader social problem of healing, believing, and belonging. It’s providing answers to the questions we face: how to replace blind faith with direct experience, how to move from broken to whole, and how to cure isolation with connection. Said even more plainly, it shows us how to revitalize our bodies, boost our creativity, rekindle our relationships, and answer once and for all the questions of why we are here and what do we do now? Jamie is also the author of Stealing Fire: How Silicon Valley, Navy SEALs, and Maverick Scientists Are Revolutionizing the Way We Live and Work and the founder of the Flow Genome Project, an international organization dedicated to the research and training of human performance. His work and ideas have been covered in The New York Times, Financial Times, Wired, Entrepreneur, Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Inc., and TED. He has spoken at Stanford University, MIT, the Harvard Club, Imperial College, Singularity University, the U.S. Naval War College and Special Operations Command, Sandhurst Royal Military Academy, the Bohemian Club, and the United Nations. He lives high in the Rocky Mountains in an off-grid cabin with his partner, Julie; two children, Lucas and Emma; and their golden retrievers, Aslan and Calliope. When not writing, he can be found mountain biking, kitesurfing, and backcountry skiing. During our discussion, you'll discover: -What the heck is a "neuroanthropologist?"...07:34 -What does it mean to "recapture the rapture?"...15:15 -A contrarian view of the end times...23:56 -Jamie's creative writing process...31:55 -How prostate massages bring one to a new level of consciousness...43:25 -The 5 big techniques for achieving a peak state of flow...48:35 -Why sex, drugs, rock and roll mark the beginning of civilizati

Runner's High: How a Movement of Cannabis-Fueled Athletes Is Changing the Science of Sports.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/runnershigh I recently read the book Runner's High: How a Movement of Cannabis-Fueled Athletes Is Changing the Science of Sports. As kind of a mash-up of Michael Pollan's How to Change Your Mind and Christopher McDougall's Born to Run this immersive, investigative look at the hidden culture of cannabis use among elite athletes (as well as weekend warriors) reveals the surprising emerging science behind the elusive, exhilarating "runner's high" they all seek. Author of the book and my guest on today's podcast - Josiah Hesse - believes that "pot makes exercise fun", or at least, easier or more productive. The link between performance enhancement and cannabis has actually been an open secret for many years, so much so that with the wide-sweeping national legalization of cannabis, combining weed and working out has become the hottest new wellness trend. Why, then, is there still a skewed perception around this leafy substance that it only produces the lazy, red-eyed stoner laid out on a couch somewhere, munching on junk food? In fact, scientists have conducted extensive research that uncovers the power of the "runner's high" - the true holy grail of aerobic activity that was long believed to be caused by endorphins. In an extraordinary reversal, scientists believe marijuana may actually be the key to getting more Americans off their phones and on to their feet. In Runner's High and in this podcast, Josiah takes you on a journey through the secret world of stoned athletes, describing astounding, cannabis-inspired physical and mental transformations, just like he experienced. From the economics of the $20 billion CBD market to the inherent inequalities in the enforcement of marijuana prohibition; from the mind-body connection behind the "runner's high" to the best way to make your own cannabis-infused power bars; Runner's High takes this groundbreaking science out of the lab and onto the trail, court, field, and pitch, fundamentally changing the way we think about exercise, recovery, and cannabis. Josiah is an author and journalist from Denver, Colorado, whose work has appeared in Vice, Esquire, Politico, and The Guardian. Hesse casts a wide net in his journalistic curiosities, covering everything from science, crime and politics, to pop culture, the arts, sex and drugs. After a decade of covering the slow-burn legalization of marijuana, Hesse finally wrote the book we discuss today. In this episode, you'll discover: -How the "420 games" inspired Josiah's book...07:15 -Josiah's history w/ cannabis prior to the 420 games...12:20 -An ultra-marathoner that has taken edibles during his runs for years...17:15 -What to expect in cannabis-inspired fitness classes and events...21:20 -How prevalent is cannabis use in professional sports...25:30 -How, when and why cannabis became "persona non grata" among natural herbs...34:15 -What is the best dosage to increase the efficacy of exercise...50:25 -Does cannabis help altitude performance?...59:55 -Is cannabis a true performance enhancing drug?...1:04:00 -Is cannabis a crutch for Ben Greenfield?...1:11:05 -And much more... Is This The World's Most Efficient, Biohacked Workout? The New Full Body Electrostimulation Science by Katalyst (& How To Build Muscle In 20 Minutes).

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/katalystpodcast In a recent weekly roundup, I reported on what I called "Possibly The World's Most Efficient (New) Workout: The "Katalyst", and told you to get ready for the next frontier of electrical muscle stimulation. In my Boundless book, on my podcast, and elsewhere, I've talked in the past about how I use electrical muscle stimulation, also known as “EMS,” ...but with all other forms of EMS I've used in the past, although getting great results for injury rehab, muscle growth, targeted muscle "re-training" and more, I've also had to deal with all sorts of wires, time-consuming electrode attachment, confusing user interfaces, and a pretty clunky experience that takes up a lot of time. But this brand new electrical muscle stimulation suit called the “Katalyst” is a total game-changer. You literally just pull on the suit and select from any of the workouts on the app and a personal trainer not only walks you through the entire workout, which involves functional fitness moves like squats, side lunges, presses, cardiovascular and power movements, and a whole lot more… …but the intensity is automatically adjusted by your trainer as you go, and so it also creates a highly customized workout. This is one of the coolest time hacks for exercise that I've discovered in a long time and—coming from a guy who has done a lot of different workouts—I can tell you that this thing is not some gimmicky “As Seen On TV” technology that you use to get a six-pack while you're sitting on the couch eating Twinkies. Instead, I think this technology is going to take the fitness world by storm. Pro athletes can train muscles they've never used before and retrain injured muscles while complete exercise beginners or those in rehab can lift weights without excess stress on the joints. Again, the Katalyst suit is a total game-changer, and this thing is flying off the shelves now as folks discover the magic of EMS. Here's where you can get the Katalyst suit today (that link gives you "early access" to getting a unit for yourself). But I also wanted to get the Founder and CEO of Katalyst - Bjoern Woltermann - on the show to take a deep dive into exactly how this new technology works. Bjoern is the Founder and CEO of Katalyst, a revolutionary home fitness product that can actually improve your fitness through every phase of life. Using proven Full-Body EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) technology, Katalyst removes common barriers to fitness like time, ability and motivation, and replaces them with a 20-minute, full-body workout that works with your body rather than against it. Because there are no weights and no joint impact, Katalyst empowers all people to live longer, healthier and happier lives. A startup veteran and economist by trade, Bjoern was introduced to Full-Body EMS as a way to fit strength training into his busy travel schedule and to rehabilitate a back injury. After training every Monday for six weeks, Bjoern was amazed to find himself both pain-free and in better physical shape than he had been in years. He soon realized that this technology had the potential to significantly improve millions of lives. Driven by an innate desire to serve people, Bjoern founded Katalyst in 2015 to bring Full-Body EMS to the United States. Aside from Katalyst, Bjoern is a devoted husband and uncle who loves to travel the world and is committed to a healthy lifestyle. During our discussion, you'll discover: -How Bjoern got interested in EMS...8:54 2012, had a corporate job flying all over the world This resulted in chronic back pain Advised to strengthen core and lower back, otherwise serious injury would be incurred Introduced to an EMS clinic (20 minute treatment is too good to be true) Two different reactions: horribly uncomfortable or relatively manageable Breathwork is important for the comfort level After 6 weeks, he was pain free, no pain meds, etc. Body Street studio EMS EMS is far more popular in Germany than the U.S. -Brief history of EMS training...15:10 BGF podcast w/ Jay Schroeder (old, may not be available) Science discovered by Russians in the 60's TENS treatment is a different treatment than EMS Early 2000's, body transformer was a more efficient means of delivering EMS First commercial device was around 2007 Used by elite soccer teams (athletes signed NDA's because of it worked so well) -The science that backs up the efficacy of EMS...19:10 FDA-regulated category Hurdles too high for manufacturer's to expand in the U.S. Some European universities carry out 2-3 full-blown studies on EMS per year Hockey players 1.5% faster after EMS New way to activate muscles; easier to target specific muscle fibers -Why EMS induces a high amount of soreness...23:20 Previously unused and dormant muscles "No muscle left behind" Much more complete muscle activation Increasing the recruitment of muscle fibers in each rep Get to exhaustive state of the muscle faster Activate more muscle fibers at the same time - subconsci

Microdosing Psychedelics, How To Use LSD, Shrooms, Iboga & Other Plant Medicines, Legal Psilocybin Retreats, Truffles & Much More With Third Wave's Paul Austin.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/paulaustin Paul F. Austin is a pioneer in the 21st century responsible use of psychedelics for healing, leadership and personal transformation. He has been featured in BBC, Forbes, and Rolling Stone for his accomplishments in entrepreneurship regarding social awareness towards the benefits of microdosing psychedelics. Paul is the author of the book “Microdosing Psychedelics: A Practical Guide to Upgrade Your Life” and the founder of two companies in the emerging psychedelic space, Third Wave and Synthesis. ‍ It all started with his personal 7-month microdosing protocol, through it Paul experienced the tangible benefits of microdosing LSD, including an acceleration of learning ability, easier access to flow states, and an improved sense of presence. His experience with microdosing inspired him to push for legitimizing psychedelic substances via the topic of microdosing. ‍ Most importantly, intentional psychedelic use helped him to further uncover his own truth, enabling an alignment of purpose and mission with contribution to community and society. Paul’s unconventional path has now placed him in a position to serve the lives of many millions through psychedelic education and literacy. Two companies have been borne of Paul's mission: Third Wave and Synthesis. This led him to create “Third Wave” which explores pragmatic ways to change the cultural conversation around psychedelics, focusing on the intersection of science, psychedelics, and self-actualization. ‍ Within Third Wave, Paul leads his team in building an educational platform to ensure psychedelic substances become responsibly integrated into our metamodern cultural framework. Currently, Third Wave offers long-form psychedelic guides, online training focused on the skill of microdosing psychedelics, and an industry-best network of clinics and retreat providers, creating a space for individuals to come fully into their own agency, power, and autonomy. In 2018, he co-founded Synthesis, and led several high-dose psilocybin truffle retreats, leading branding, marketing, and public relations before stepping back to focus on Third Wave full-time. Setting off at the age of 21 from West Michigan, Paul lived in five countries and traveled to 60+ over the span of six years before moving to New York City in August 2017. Propelled by an insatiable curiosity for the unknown, Paul's travels led to an incredible expansion of being and growth, setting the stage for his professional career in psychedelic leadership and advocacy. Paul is often seeking balance between city and countryside: the unrelenting energy of big city life pared with the tranquility of nature. When not working, he loves to read, camp, drink espresso, steam himself silly in eucalyptus, and laugh at the irony of life. Third Wave began in 2015, with an intent of changing the cultural conversation around psychedelics. They offer free education, paid online courses, and peak performance coaching. Paul's work there has been featured in the BBC, Forbes, and Rolling Stone. Synthesis is a legal psilocybin retreat outside of Amsterdam. For many clients, attending Synthesis is a profound and meaningful experience, one that leads to improved well-being and significant clarity on purpose and direction. Outside of Paul's entrepreneurial endeavors, he speaks about the intersection of psychedelics, personal transformation, and professional success. The 2 Most Potent Hair Growth & Hair Loss Reversal Molecules Known To Humankind: C60 & GHK-CU - A Big Hair Podcast With Auxano's Jay Campbell & Nick Andrews.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/hairgrowth As I was recently reading in a fashion magazine, hair has always been the primary indication of confidence for most men. When you consider that two-thirds of men see hair thinning by the age of thirty-five, and men’s hair restoration is a $1.5 billion industry, you began to understand how much confidence is contributed to a man’s hair. But why? In a Canadian survey conducted by researcher Rosemary Ricciardelli, men identified hair as being the primary link between their youth and attractiveness. Ricciardelli observed how men with a full head of hair — even the ones who weren’t particularly otherwise attractive — go out of their way to bring attention to their hair when meeting someone new. These full-haired men tended to be more relaxed and confident in demeanor when dealing with other individuals because they feel like they represent the standard for the ideal man. Ricciardelli helped prove this theory by asking the participants to physically describe their ideal male figure. All of the participants described men who were clean-cut with a full head of hair. We’re unconsciously groomed (pun totally intended) and conditioned (ha!) to think that a healthy man has a full head of hair. But how does this psychologically affect the way men actually feel in their hair? Perhaps a full head of hair reassures them of their healthy biological standing. Maybe the loss of hair reminds men of their mortal vulnerability. Even men with gray hair prefer the color change over balding. Beards also matter, as facial hair is also a key part of men’s self-identification. In one study, men with facial hair were considered more aggressive than clean-shaven men. Both men and women found men with facial hair to be more masculine, with a higher social status, than men who were clean-shaven. More interestingly, men who are bald tend to accentuate their facial hair as compensation for balding. With the double whammy of baldness and facial hair, a man’s masculine appeal could be through the roof. So, to continue on the topic of hair and beard health in men (and the former in women too) that I visited on my recent podcast with Dr. Cameron Chesnut, I decided to continue to explore the topic of hair optimization. My first guest, Jay Campbell, who first joined me on the podcast "Is Metformin Really Dangerous, Little-Known Peptides For Muscle Gain & Fat Loss, Testosterone Replacement Therapy & Much More!" is a 4x international best selling author, men’s physique champion, co-founder of Aseir Custom and founder of the Jay Campbell Brand and Podcast. He is also a a Champion Men’s Physique Competitor and the best selling author of the Testosterone Optimization Bible and of The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy Manual: How to Optimize Your Testosterone for Lifelong Health and Happiness. He also wrote a very popular article on my website entitled Testosterone Decoded, Shattering Testosterone Myths (& Everything You Need To Know About Testosterone Optimization Therapy). As a global influencer on health optimization and raising human consciousness, Jay is no-nonsense, authentic, and fearless in his servant mission of leading humanity towards the Golden Age. Since returning from 12 days in The Sacred Valley of Peru, he's recently experienced a profound awareness of the importance of #RaisingTheVibration of humanity to reach planetary consciousness aka unconditional love. How To Become A "Sheepdog," Grappling With Weapons, Making Yourself Harder To Kill, Are There Fringe Navy SEAL Smart Drugs & Much More With Tim Kennedy.

BenGreenfieldFitness.com/timkennedy My wife and I recently immersed ourselves in a three-day close quarter combat and firearm and personal defense training course called "Sheepdog-Response". We experienced hours upon hours of grappling, close quarter combat, situational awareness, firearm training and much more. We were feeling a bit sore and beat up at the end, but definitely more prepared for any “curveballs” life may throw at us. I think these types of skills, along with skills such as wilderness survival, plant foraging, hunting, etc. are really good ways to ensure that one is prepared for life in general. I was so impressed with the course, that I decided to get the founder of Sheepdog, Tim Kennedy, on the podcast to talk about it, and much, much more. If you haven't heard of Tim, then you definitely need to know about this guy. Tim is a retired American mixed martial artist and current soldier. A fighting professional from 2001 until 2016, he has fought in the UFC, Strikeforce, the WEC, ShoMMA, HDNet Fights, and represented the Chicago Red Bears in the IFL. Kennedy is one of the few fighters to simultaneously serve in the United States Army while also fighting professionally. He also is a television host, producer, and entrepreneur. Tim completed Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, Airborne School, Special Forces Assessment and Selection and the Special Forces Qualification Course. In 2007, he completed Ranger School and was assigned to the 7th Special Forces Group, where he served on an Operational Detachments Alpha. During this time he was also a sniper, sniper instructor, and the principal combatives instructor for C Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group. Kennedy deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom multiple times. In August 2009, Kennedy transitioned from active duty to the Texas Army National Guard's 19th Special Forces Group and served in the position of Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. Among Kennedy's multiple awards are the Army's Bronze Star Medal with V device, which was awarded for valor under fire. He is now an active, Ranger qualified, Green Beret, Special Forces Sniper with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other locations around the globe. He was host of the History Channel television series Hunting Hitler which explores alternative theories about Adolf Hitler's death. He also hosted the show on Discovery Channel Hard to Kill, which he attempted to explore a day in the life of the world's most dangerous occupations. He produced the TV documentary Not a War Story in 2017 and helped co-produce Warriors in 2014, and also produced and hosted Iron Dragon TV. He’s made appearances on Deadliest Warrior and The Ultimate Soldier Challenge.
