<p class="MsoNormal">We open the show with the biggest story in all of sports this week, the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade to the Lakers. Everyone throws out their initial reactions to this huge story, including Rob’s feelings that there were behind-the-scenes factors that played a big part in this trade that no one is discussing, like his entourage, not training with the team and his lack of conditioning. That said, Rob says he’s not that concerned about Luka’s weight because he is still getting the job done on the floor. Defensively there are still a lot of questions, especially when you look at his performance in the NBA Finals just a couple of seasons back, but the hope is that he is able to improve that while playing alongside LeBron.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">The money on the table is also a big angle in this Luka story, as he would be leaving over $116 MILLION on the table due to this trade because he’s not ineligible for a supermax deal. Does Rob feel like the Mavericks might have moved him to save some of that money? Plus the Lakers made a statement to LeBron James by making a move without his consideration, and Rob feels like this is just another indicator that LeBron needs to start moving aside as the leader of the team. Rob and B-Dog both feel like Luka and LeBron will be able to play with each other because LeBron has showed he could do it in a lot of other situations.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio was the other big move of the week, as De’Aaron lands in a great situation alongside Victor Wembanyama as the Spurs try to rebuild around some young pieces. Jenners also loses last week’s bet as Jimmy Butler continues to blow up every deal that’s presented to him, and we were pretty convinced he’d at least have a deal in place by now. <p class="MsoNormal">Rob spent the week in Dubai with NBA legend Michael Cooper, and jokes that it was an amazing place to spend time if he was about 20 years younger. The Lakers are helping UCLA build some hospitals overseas and Rob jokes that Mike made him do all the talking the entire trip. And as we creep in on NBA All-Star weekend, we await to see where Rob will fall in the Hall of Fame class announcements… but Rob doesn’t have high hopes of making the cut his first year on the ballot. Plus Rob tries to put the All-Star snubs of Norman Powell and Trae Young into perspective for the fans.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">The Bronny James saga has again resurfaced as his recent struggles, and Rob feels like the Lakers are putting him in a bad spot by continuing to roll him out there when he’s clearly not ready. And as a father of a son who has NBA hopes, Rob is hoping to have a team invest in him like the Lakers have in Bronny regardless of his struggles. Rob also lays out the scenarios where the Heat actually move on from Jimmy Butler, because he believes that Pat Riley will only do what’s best for the Heat and not what’s best for Jimmy. Plus how are the Kings voluntarily moving on from De’Aaron Fox when he should be the piece they build the future of the Kings around.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Joel Embiid missed the 400<sup>th</sup> game of his career this week, meaning that he’s missed 47% of his CAREER games – and Rob believes that if he ever signs another NBA contract, it will have to come with stipulations about not paying him for games he doesn’t play. We also play the audio of Adam Silver saying he would be a fan of shortening quarters to 10 minutes, and Rob says there is NO way it ever happens because it would affect sponsorship dollars. <p class="MsoNormal">As we close in on our 200<sup>th</sup> episode of the “big” show, we pick Rob’s brain about who he’d want for the 200<sup>th</sup> show. Show 100 was Bill Walton (RIP) and Rob suggests Dodgers manager Dave Roberts or James Worthy, who Rob though was already on the show. There was also some really interesting audio from Dwight Howard this week who is yet again sounding off on how he’s treated by Shaquille O’Neal – and if it’s indeed over the “Superman” nickname, Rob equates it to Chauncy Billups calling himself “Mr. Big Shot” and how it never bothered him. And we try to figure out which SEC head coach (Lane Kiffin) dropped into Sydney Thomas’s DMs!</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Listeners call Rob to the carpet on his performance on “World’s Toughest Test” as there is a new season, and Cam Newton and Golden Tate are both performing really well… where Rob really didn’t. Rob also backs up Rick Barnes after the Tennessee men’s basketball coach benched one of his star players, Chaz Lanier, for not shooting the ball as that’s what he’s “being paid to do”, and it just reinforces that the old college sports model is dead and it’s now minor league sports. <p>The guys are BACK after a very tough week for both Horry and Jenners. Rob was obviously touch-and-go all week with the insane California wildfires. He talks about how he could see them from his house, went several days without power and how he and his wife had to pack the items they felt were irreplaceable in case the worst happened. Thankfully Rob's house was fine and his family is okay. Jenners also had an impossibly hard week, as he and his wife lost their son Cody right after the New Year. Cody Corby was only 32, and the Jenners family is trying to find a way forward without him. </p> <p><br>We quickly pivot back to basketball, and we're all a little bummed that we missed out on the Jason Whitlock and Joy Taylor audio from last week (which we play and laugh at anyway). Plus we get Rob's thoughts on the Jimmy Butler drama in Miami, and if the Heat can even find a way forward if he indeed remains on the roster. Rob tries to figure out where it all went wrong for Jimmy in Miami, who had a good run for a while in that city, and why it's not in Miami's best interest to trade him. </p> <p><br>And everyone jumps in on Zion Williamson's suspension for lateness (and fatness) with the audio of the week from Shannon and Stephen A laying into him. Rob says lateness shows a greater disrespect for the team, and characterizes him as a guy who only cares about himself. Harper points out that he's putting unneeded stress on his body by trying to be a high-flying dunker. Plus a look around the NBA standings, with surprise seasons from the Cavs, Rockets and Grizzlies thus far. Stand out players like Zach LaVine, Karl Anthony-Towns in New York, and the wild numbers that Nikola Jokic is putting up AGAIN this season.</p> <p><br>The Tweet of the Week comes from Mad Max Vernon Maxwell who took time to dunk on the Utah Jazz again, we play some hilarious audio from TLC's new show about Tourette's syndrome, and a funny Big Shot of the Week to the Sacramento reporter that got nabbed looking at Rhianna's Instagram during a live shot. <p>The bonus show opens with some love for Ja'Kobi Lane, who caught three touchdowns in the USC Bowl win... but we did NOT expect his voice to sound the way it did! Really it's any excuse to bring back the Dutch runner who sounds like Mickey Mouse. We also get a listener question about Toledo rushing the field three times before they actually won their bowl game against Pitt, as a  listener is convinced they jinxed it. And Rob talks about a time that he was asked to wear NBA Champions shirts before they had actually won, and decided to do it because the money was too good. </p> <p><br>One of the biggest debates of the week in the NBA hits the bonus show, as we get into Wemby shooting a high volume of 3-pointers. Rob wants him to develop his shot from mid-range more than his three. Harp wants him to put on weight. Jenners argues that this is the one time in his career he can goof around with shot selection and build his game outside-in. <p>We are BACK from the holiday break with the news that Robert Horry is on the HALL OF FAME BALLOT! And while he isn't sure he will get in with a crowded nomination class, the fact that he's officially in the conversation is huge. He tells us how he found out, what the reactions have been from friends and fans and why he believes he deserves to be there.</p> <p> </p> <p>Rob also gets into the D'Angelo Russell trade from LA to the Nets (again) and admits that he likes the move for D-Lo's future. Harper thinks Finney-Smith is a great fit for the Lakers if he sticks to his role as a perimeter shooter and defender. And the firing of Mike Brown threw everyone for a loop - and Rob speculates that one of the Kings star players must have sounded off to management and that's what made it happen so abruptly. Mike Malone held nothing back by saying the move shows that Sacramento management has "no class" and how that message resonates to the owners and GMs around the league.</p> <p> </p> <p>Everyone talks about the fun they had on Christmas break, until Rob decided to shoot Jenners a text to remind him that Draymond Green already has 7 techs, as Jenners bet of "under 10" for the season really starts to implode. That leads us into the incident caught on tape where Draymond was cursing out Buddy Hield on the floor and later saying it was his was of motivating him. Rob sounds off, saying he was never motivated by people yelling at him and had a huge disagreement with a teammate in Houston over that. Which spins us into a conversation about how guys choose to motivate their teammates and what really works.</p> <p> </p> <p><br>Anthony Edwards got popped $100K for cursing on live TV, and Rob says the big fine was the NBA trying to send a message to players to watch their language on live TV. And we celebrate the return of NBA fights, after Amen Thompson threw down Tyler Herro - and the Marshall-Nurkic suspensions came down in the Dallas-Phoenix fight. We also jump into the College Playoff picks for the quarter finals games this week, which has us all going in different directions. And we close with a Big Shot of the Week to the National Police of Peru for arresting drug dealers on Christmas dressed as the Grinch - and a hilarious round of "It Happened This Year" where we try to remember specifics about stuff that went down in 2024.</p>

<p>We are closing out our final week of the year with the NBA Cup Final, as the Bucks and Thunder match up in the battle of who-gets-paid. Everyone makes their picks and we take turns bouncing around the NBA trade radar. It runs the gamut from the annual Jimmy Butler trade rumors, to the Lakers adding pieces they might not need, and everyone scratches their heads at the state of the Washington Wizards.</p> <p>Plus it’s the first round of the College Football Playoffs this weekend, and everyone makes their picks on all the big games. Arguments arise about the legitimacy of a Mountain West Champion in Boise State, how no one has any faith in Notre Dame, and all the questions about James Franklin’s big game record. We wonder if Ohio State will actually show up in a big spot, and Rob picks against his buddy Dabo Swinney as they get ready to face Texas.</p> <p>Freddie Freeman’s baseball also set a record at auction this week, which leads us to ask what sports memorabilia would you want if you had a blank check – and responses ranges from Kobe game-worn gear, to Rob wanting Hank Aaron’s jersey from the day he broke the home run record. And after De’Vandre Campbell quit on the Niners, Rob admits that he’s done it in NBA games when he didn’t want to play “scrub minutes”. Plus, with the wave of NFL home invasions, Rob is reminded of a time in his day when the NBA started to warn players about a breakout of car jackings in the 90’s.</p> <p>We also give a Big Shot of the Week to Louisville head basketball coach Pat Kelsey, who had one of the best answers to a press question we’ve heard in a while. And we close out our final “big” show before Christmas with a hilarious Christmas-themed round of Rapid Fire!</p>

Rob says LeBron continues to struggle playing one-on-one with guys, how incredible this recent Jokic run as been for the Nuggets, and whether the Brandon Ingram rumor has any merit in helping fix the Lakers issues. We also have some laughs at this week’s insane Mike Brown press conference (which went on painfully long) and whether the Kings need to move on from him in order for this Kings lineup to find their way back this season.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Juan Soto may have brought trouble into Rob’s marriage after he broke off the biggest deal in sports history, because baseball money is for REAL compared to the NBA. That sends us into this conversation about what NBA player you would want to get if you had a blank check to write, and the answers range from Giannis, to Wemby, to Steph. We also debate whether or not ESPN will force Stephen A Smith onto the new Inside the NBA, give out a really inspiring Big Shot of the Week that honors injured veterans and first responders… and we cap it off with our annual round of “Is It a Bowl Game??”</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We open with Rob joking that Jenners is going to lose the Draymond Green less-than 10 technical fouls bet after he got TWO the other night and has already notched four this season. Rob also HATES that the NBA refs continue to put out statements after the games that they missed calls, like what happened on the Jayson Tatum game winner from the other night, and how that doesn’t do anything except upset the fan base. Plus everyone on the show is really happy that Inside the NBA got picked up by ESPN, but to still be produced by Turner, as that show has proved to be a very good spotlight for the league over the years.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Rob also thinks that Mike Tyson just ran out of steam in the Jake Paul fight but does not believe the fight was rigged. We also have some props for Anthony Davis and LeBron James as they continue to dominate early in the season, especially with LeBron at the doorstep of 40 years old. And we all laugh at the farce of the Lakers now saying they DON’T want to trade D-Lo because he’s playing so well off the bench, because that’s exactly the time you do trade him! And the Cavaliers are showing the league just how talented they are, from Donovan Mitchell, to Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, they are deep and talented and play great defense… all leading to an impressive, unbeaten start to the season. Plus the conversation about Chet Holmgren’s injury leads into Victor Wembanyama – “the Skinny Committee” – and whether guys who don’t carry much weight can still be offensive dominators in the NBA.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">There is SO much great audio this week, including a check-in on the Draymond Green technical counter, audio from the cockpit during the Auburn basketball team fight that forced the plane to turn around this weekend, the hilarious and amazing Michelle Beadle Nuggets flub, and Pat McAfee leading the wild LSU fans into cursing on live TV! And the audio of Saints coach Darren Rizzi saying he clogged the toilet in the coach’s office on his first day takes us into a conversation about clogging the toilet at other people’s homes. But Rob feels like they need to focus on getting the bench pieces back that they lost in order to turn it around. And after impressive starts, listeners what to know who Rob thinks will have a bigger impact on their team this season, Buddy Hield or Sabonis? And Rob is rolling with Buddy because he’s basically become the new splash brother. Rob also agrees with Baron Davis’s assessment that a Doc Rivers team is a “beatable team” and says they may need to blow up the Bucks entirely.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">There was also a weird streak that came to light this week, where the Houston Rockets haven’t beat the Golden State Warriors since February of 2020! That led us to ask Rob about teams he could not find a way to beat, and he says his Houston team couldn’t beat the Sonics because of their iconic lineup. <p class="MsoNormal">Rob joins us live from Napa Valley as he’s travelling again this week, but jumps right into the outstanding play of Anthony Davis so far this season and where he thinks the Lakers need to tighten up. For Rob that’s mostly due a young coach in JJ having no faith in his bench, but he needs to get a hold of that for the Lakers to make a deep run. We’re also surprised at how good the Cavs have been out of the gate, but Rob warns Donovan Mitchell to remember to let his teammates help and not put it all on his shoulders. Plus Jayson Tatum talks about being passed over by the Lakers in the 2017 Draft, and Rob says he understands why that happened because they needed a guard. His surprise came more from them passing on DeAaron Fox and taking Lonzo Ball.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">There are also some sinking ships that need to be discussed early on – and we start with the 1-6 Milwaukee Bucks, who have not looked cohesive to start this season, even though Giannis and Dame have both played well. And with losses like this come the rumors that Giannis is going to ask for a trade out of Milwaukee, so we play some “what if” scenarios with teams like the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls. That also leads us into the Philadelphia 76ers who are also only carrying one win into the third week of the season, and everyone on the show feels like the Sixers live and die with Embiid, and with him sitting out it will get worse before it gets better.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">We also have beefs to get into this week! We start with Kevin Durant vs Stephen A Smith, which is hard for us to understand due to Stephen A’s platform and reach – and Rob feels like KD is way too sensitive for a guy who wants to be the star of his team. The other beef of the week went down between DeMar DeRozan, who was happy to honor Vince Carter during his number retirement, and Drake who of course got himself into the middle of something again. And Jenners brings up the Miami Heat who hoisted a banner in honor of Bam Adebayo becoming a US Gold Medalist, and that sets everyone off on legacy recognition.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">We wrap it up with the funniest poster of the week, which went down in the Baylor-Gonzaga game – Rob shares that the kid that got dunked into the Earth was the coach’s son, which makes it that much funnier! He wanted to know what athletes could excel in other sports – and Jenners asks about NBA players specifically who we think could play in the NFL. Names like LeBron and Ant of course pop up, but Rob goes with the obvious picks of Charlie Ward and Jalen Suggs, who both played college football.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">As the season unfolds, Rob also wants to know what Wemby can do to put on weight before we get too far in, especially after that video surfaced this week of Stephen Adams backing him down in the post and there was nothing Wemby could do to stop him. Plus after Anthony Richardson checked himself out of the Colts game, it reminds Rob of the time he pulled himself out of a game, but not because he was tired but because he was mad at Latrell Sprewell. Listeners also want to know what Rob thought about Chris Paul taking a swing at Dillon Brooks in the scrum this week, and Rob says that if you wanted to fight a guy in his day you just did it, or met at center court like Kobe and Reggie Miller.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">We have even more listener questions on the table, including – Are the Magic poised for a breakout season? Is Russell Westbrook cooked, or just in the wrong system in Denver as Rob suggests? <p class="MsoNormal">Rob is live from Houston as the Rockets celebrate the 30<sup>th</sup> anniversary of their 1994-95 NBA Championship, which breaks into a conversation about what teams are beholden to their last championship and need to find a way past it. And of course we open with the wild conversation about the Dwyane Wade statue – as we all think it was really bad, but it appears that Wade had a hand in approving it before it was unveiled. We love that D-Wade got his statue, and Rob jokes that he ever were to get one he would want to make sure it looks exactly like him.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Plus the Lakers have come out of the gates strong, winners of three of their first four games, and Rob is happy with the system he’s seeing so far from LA. JJ is now the front runner to win Coach of the Year which is a hilarious “way too early” prediction for Harper. Rob likes the limited look of plays that the Lakers have rolled out, which is keeping the offense simple. Joel Embiid also got T’d up even though he hasn’t played a game yet this season, due to “left knee management”, which scares everyone about how the Sixers season will play out if he remains on the bench. Jenners also has a wild NBA stat about Ben Simmons that further infuriates the show.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Everyone on the show rolls out their homework for Rob, which was to lay out the six teams from the East and the West that will make the Playoffs this season… and of course everyone’s opinions waver wildly, with a few exceptions. We also touch on the Indiana Fever parting ways with Christie Sides, the WILD end of the OKC-New Orleans game with two buzzer-beater threes, and the total meltdown from the Washington Commanders radio booth after last week’s Hail Mary to win the game. Plus an inspiring Big Shot of the Week to a woman in LA who saved a young girl’s life, and a round of “Build me a Statue” as a salute to D-Wade’s wild one that was unveiled this week.</p>

And could Anthony Edwards really leave the NBA to go play football after winning a ring? <p class="MsoNormal">Listeners want to know if Zach LaVine is back for the Bulls after a monster preseason performance, but Rob doesn’t have any for Zach because it all depends on his health. Plus a question comes to the show on whether the Bulls should retire Derrick Rose’s number, and what it takes to reach that achievement, because none of us think he’s done enough to have his number retired. We also joke about how Lethal Shooter finally got an amazing picture with Michael Jordan that was out of focus and how he made the mistake of turning to the Internet to fix it. And while we’re on the Lakers, we try to figure out how JJ and Rob can sell Bronny to the fanbase if he continues to underperform in the preseason. Rob and B-Dog both try to convince Jenners that it isn’t about basketball, it’s about the story of playing with his dad, and that doesn’t sit right with people who care about wins and losses and not storylines. Kwame Brown also weights in on the Bronny situation and makes some very strong points from a basketball perspective. We also discuss JB Bickerstaff’s new “no hoodies and jewelry” approach to practice and we agree with it so much that it makes us feel like old men. Mike Malone also enters the conversation after calling his guys “soft” as they come into the preseason, which takes us down a road of figuring out if the Nuggets are “stuck” as some have suggested. Everyone also has some congratulations for the inductees into the Basketball Hall of Fame, and Rob thinks the Liberty are going to win the WNBA Finals amidst record ratings for that series. Eminem having a grandchild made us all feel old, and we relate that to seeing other people from our youth get older that makes us feel old. Plus Rob offers up his thoughts on the young Rockets roster going into this season, and how he’s excited to see what they can put together. And we close out the show with the strange story of Rashee Rice’s mother being a porch pirate, and what was stolen from our homes by porch pirates.</p>

And it wouldn’t be a wild week of college football upsets if we didn’t dance on Rob’s grave after Alabama’s epic loss to Vanderbilt, and we have some laughs with the audio of Diego Pavia after the game and how much money he just made for himself. Pat Bev also chimes in on the “disrespect” for Doc Rivers which cracks Rob up, as the played for Phil Jackson in his prime and the comparison of Doc and Phil is wildly unwarranted. That also segues us into Pat’s take on Ben Simmons and how none of us have any expectations for him on the floor. Rob sounds off on the leaded audio of LeBron calling out Steve Kerr in the locker room, and agrees that on both the men’s team and women’s team there was a lot of bias from coaches who were playing the players they know. And Rob challenges the idea that only NBA coaches should be coaching Team USA, but if it has to be an NBA coach then it should be someone who doesn’t have any of their own players on the team. Recapping the gold medal game was easy, as we just relive Steph’s amazing daggers against France to bring it home. And amongst all that drama, B-Dog feels like LeBron is still the leader of that team… but Rob says it isn’t enough to be a leader on the floor, it has to count in the locker room too. But it didn’t mean much to Steve Kerr, who was anxious to throw flowers at the GOAT’s feet, even though LeBron was undermining him to the entire team. And we put the wraps on the Olympics by debating who the next group of guys are to pick up the mantle of Team USA. In NBA news, the Christmas Day games were announced – some great, some just okay – and how the NFL is coming for the NBA’s Christmas Day tradition. Giannis feels some sort of way about the Christmas schedule, as the Bucks weren’t included, and Rob is really in “show me” mode with that team now because they are always hurt. Plus Noah Lyles had a week, after he won the gold, then got Covid, then went clubbing, and finally having an article drop about how disrespected he felt to be invited to Anthony Edwards Adidas event. That even spurred the Cheetah, Tyreek Hill, who went from wanting to support him, to wanting to race him and beat him. Preseason football brings us the new kickoff rule, and with the Carolina Panthers plane sliding off the runway, Rob recounts a college plane flight where they all thought they were going to die. Plus Rob sounds off on Draymond Green dressing down high school players for crying about fouls, when all he (and other NBA players) do the same thing on national television every night. And everyone has feelings about Chris Canty saying that LeBron would never command the respect from other pro players that Michael Jordan gets from generations of guys. <p class="MsoNormal">Right out the gate we jump into Snoop Dogg calling Badminton at the Summer Olympics in Paris, and everyone feels like we need to hear him do a full quarter of a Lakers game! Plus Shaq made some noise this week by trolling Rudy Gobert, and everyone feels like he’s set everyone up to pick on him by performing so poorly after his Defensive Player of the Year award. And everyone on the show loses it with laughter after Frank the Tank’s epic and utter meltdown over the Mets and Sal Licata in the audio of the week! Plus after a Red Sox fans drops a ball over the Green Monster and embarrasses his wife on national television, we talk to Rob about the last time he embarrassed his wife in public… and he says when he got hammered at his birthday party. And we close out with some superhero talk after Deadpool & Wolverine killed it at the box office, because Rob is a little upset by the new Dr. Doom casting announcement.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We open this week’s show on the Summer Olympics, with Rob watching a lot of fencing, volleyball and of course hoops. We immediately dive into the story of the week surrounding Jayson Tatum’s lack of playing time in Game 1, and while Harper thinks it’s a non-story, Rob disagrees because Derrick White got minutes and he’s not even better than Tatum on his own team. And Joel Embiid feels like he’s the most “hated player in the league” and Rob says he’s not even close to that, and the pressure will continue to mount on him until he gets a title to Philadelphia. But Rob does not feel he’s overrated, as some have said this week, but he does feel like we’re all looking past Milwaukee in the East which makes Philly’s road to the Finals that much harder. And none of us like the TNT lawsuit against the NBA, but we also understand why the NBA folded to tech company money over Warner Brothers Discovery’s traditional broadcast money. Plus we touch on Zack LaVine staying in Chicago, the Paul Pierce vs Durant debate that Keyshawn Johnson spawned on Undisputed, and how Durant got into a scrap with everyone on Twitter over that debate. We also dish out an inspiring Big Shot of the Week to the young man who helped save his family during the Oklahoma tornados, and play a hilarious Olympics-themed version of Who’s Bigger!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We tip off the bonus show this week by talking about Kobe’s old locker from Staples Center going up for auction, as it could go for upwards of $1 million. Rob lets us know that Kobe and Shaq actually had TWO lockers because the lockers were small, and Rob says it was Portland that started the trend of bigger fancy lockers and recalls Denver had the fanciest locker room in his day. Plus Rob weighs in on Landon Miller – the son of OSU alumni Braxton Miller – getting offered a scholarship from FAU at 11 years old, and says the extent of his early recruitment was a bus trip to Kentucky for a small school called Cumberland College. The Suns and Celtics will actually have luxury tax bills in 25-26 that are higher than their actually team salary owed, and Rob feels like Boston can swing it but the Suns really can’t. And we are all in shock about the voodoo of Nick Castellanos hitting a home run during every major world event and wonder if this is worse than the Madden curse. And the Audio of the Week comes to us from an apartment resident who hilariously caught a couple having sex in the shared apartment pool!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We’re back in the regular routine this week – and we open the show with some talk about Team USA as the Olympics start this week. LeBron James gets the honor of carrying the flag for the USA during the Opening Ceremonies, and justly so as he’s been the best player on the floor for Team USA so far. And with LeBron and AD playing at this level, Rob tries to figure out why everyone is discounting the Lakers chances… and it all boils down to the surrounding cast of the Lakers. We also get into Evan Mobley’s HUGE deal in Cleveland, and Rob dissects what it’s going to take for that Cleveland line-up to take a step up and improve now that both Mobley and Spida are locked up. Plus Westbrook is on the move to Denver and Rob thinks it’s good fit, and probably his last shot at a title. But Rob wants to see Denver start replacing the talent they’ve lost, and Russ is just one piece to get them back to what they’re missing. Steve Ballmer’s halo board in the new Intuit Arena is AMAZING, but is that enough to lure talent to LA to play with Kawhi and Harden? We also go around on the state of New Jersey have NO CHANCE to steal the 76ers from Philly, how EA College Football 25 broke the bank, and Harper goes on a rant about how this is something every woman should get for his man to earn some brownie points. We discover that Rob loved to play Madden with Dabo Swinney in their college days, and Rob says he used to beat him all the time. There’s also some amazing audio of the week as Lane Kiffin burns Paul Finebaum down on his own show – and we debate how college football’s new conference alignment really screws over so many student athletes. Plus a Big Shot of the Week for a woman who got a sundae named after her at her favorite restaurant, from which we discover that there was a Robert Horry drink to be at PF Chang’s in LA. And it’s the return of Black Crime or White Crime!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We’re running a couple of days late this week, but we makeup for it with a huge show full of great topics! And we start with the post-credits scene from last week’s show, as Kawhi Leonard steps away from the Olympic team and Jaylen Brown gets the snub by Nike. Rob also offers up his opinion on the Bronny James narrative that has dominated the Summer League conversation, and says it’s important to remember that second round guys like Bronny are being evaluated for their potential, not that their current level – but Jenners disagrees, because he’s never have a shot at an NBA roster if his last name wasn’t James. We also debate if Jaylen Brunson leaving money on the table was the right move, because it largely depends on how management in New York handles using that money. And what kind of big could teams like New York and LA lure with the right coaching and situation? Paul Pierce taking credit for LeBron’s “next step” has Rob wondering why any player would take credit for another player’s hard work and talent – and how you can learn from a team of guys, but never just one guy. And how Barkley calling out the league for their new TV deal was spot on, whether John Wall deserves another shot in the league, how slanted Enes Kantor Freedom’s take is on LeBron James, and the destruction of Hard Rock Stadium by COPA America fans has us reminiscing about the craziest crowd we were ever a part of. Rob says it was definitely Paul George to the Sixers, but B-Dog and Jenners both feel like you can't sleep on Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans. And speaking of the Sixers, with them bringing back the black jerseys from the Iverson days, we talk about our favorite throwback NBA jerseys... and the Magic pinstripes, 90's Hornets and old school Supersonics looks all make our list. Rob thinks this trend of "raw dogging" a flight by doing nothing at all is psychotic, he can't juggle like Wemby after video of him has gone viral, and how much Kevin Bacon hated being "a regular person" as Rob reflects on the few perks he gets from being well known. And with Futurama coming back again this month, we talk about the TV shows that we'd love to see another season of, including The Wire, Boondocks and the Sopranos.</p>
