<p class="MsoNormal">We open this week’s show as Rob laments Alabama missing the College Football Playoff, which spins us into the biggest sports story of the week as we try to figure out if strength of schedule is a myth based on who made it in. We also joke about Notre Dame, as Cam Newton calls out the Irish for consistently letting fans down in bowl season, and how they need to affiliate with a conference in the future or be left out of the Playoff. Rob also asks the show if you were a top prospect whether you’d play in your bowl game, and everyone on the show agrees that you SHOULDN’T if you are a projected first round pick, unless there is language in their NIL contracts stating otherwise.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Rob says his Mom had a blast at Friday’s Lakers-Hawks game, which ended in a while overtime win for the Hawks, which leads us into the current struggles of the Lakers. Rob says LeBron continues to struggle playing one-on-one with guys, how incredible this recent Jokic run as been for the Nuggets, and whether the Brandon Ingram rumor has any merit in helping fix the Lakers issues. We also have some laughs at this week’s insane Mike Brown press conference (which went on painfully long) and whether the Kings need to move on from him in order for this Kings lineup to find their way back this season.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Juan Soto may have brought trouble into Rob’s marriage after he broke off the biggest deal in sports history, because baseball money is for REAL compared to the NBA. That sends us into this conversation about what NBA player you would want to get if you had a blank check to write, and the answers range from Giannis, to Wemby, to Steph. We also debate whether or not ESPN will force Stephen A Smith onto the new Inside the NBA, give out a really inspiring Big Shot of the Week that honors injured veterans and first responders… and we cap it off with our annual round of “Is It a Bowl Game??”</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We open with Rob joking that Jenners is going to lose the Draymond Green less-than 10 technical fouls bet after he got TWO the other night and has already notched four this season. Rob also HATES that the NBA refs continue to put out statements after the games that they missed calls, like what happened on the Jayson Tatum game winner from the other night, and how that doesn’t do anything except upset the fan base. Plus everyone on the show is really happy that Inside the NBA got picked up by ESPN, but to still be produced by Turner, as that show has proved to be a very good spotlight for the league over the years.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Rob also thinks that Mike Tyson just ran out of steam in the Jake Paul fight but does not believe the fight was rigged. We also have some props for Anthony Davis and LeBron James as they continue to dominate early in the season, especially with LeBron at the doorstep of 40 years old. And we all laugh at the farce of the Lakers now saying they DON’T want to trade D-Lo because he’s playing so well off the bench, because that’s exactly the time you do trade him! Plus LeMelo Ball’s $100K fine caught us a little off guard due to the context of the comment he made, but Rob says it was clear that they were sending a message to people not to cross that line, especially when it comes to the league’s sponsors.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">James Harden also made history this week by surpassing Ray Allen for second on the all-time three-pointers made list, which doesn’t really change his legacy until he elevates the Clippers and wins a ring. And with Cleveland entering this week still unbeaten at 15-0, Rob says they could be way better than anyone anticipated down the stretch but might not make it to the Finals as the 15-0 teams of the past have done. We also dive into the rumors that DeAngelo will be used to make a move for another big like Brooke Lopez, and Rob says that as long as AD is healthy he doesn’t think the Lakers need another big. And we try to figure out why AD continues to shy away from wearing goggles, after getting popped in the eye the other night.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Plus the Giannis versus Jaylen Brown saga this week was confusing to us, as Giannis said he doesn’t want to be anyone’s friend but then plays games with guys on the court and is somehow surprised that guys don’t find that cute. B-Dog also lays out the trade scenarios for Dame Lillard to go to the Lakers, which would be so lopsided it would be comical. And the Cavaliers are showing the league just how talented they are, from Donovan Mitchell, to Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, they are deep and talented and play great defense… all leading to an impressive, unbeaten start to the season. Plus the conversation about Chet Holmgren’s injury leads into Victor Wembanyama – “the Skinny Committee” – and whether guys who don’t carry much weight can still be offensive dominators in the NBA.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">There is SO much great audio this week, including a check-in on the Draymond Green technical counter, audio from the cockpit during the Auburn basketball team fight that forced the plane to turn around this weekend, the hilarious and amazing Michelle Beadle Nuggets flub, and Pat McAfee leading the wild LSU fans into cursing on live TV! And the audio of Saints coach Darren Rizzi saying he clogged the toilet in the coach’s office on his first day takes us into a conversation about clogging the toilet at other people’s homes. We also give out a Big Shot of the Week to a Texas firefighter who pulled a toddler out of the second story window of a burning building, and play a classic round of Shot Clock that, as always, ends in controversy.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The bonus show opens with some great questions from Big Shot listeners, including Dean who wants to know who our Play-In teams will be based on the picks we made last week. Rob rolls with the Bucks and Sixers in the East, and the Nuggets and the Kings in the West… Jenners has the Sixers and Heat in the East, and Dallas and the Suns in the West… and B-Dog goes with the Lakers and Dallas in the West, and the Hawks and the Nets in the East.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Plus Michael Porter Jr said this week that if the Nuggets don’t win this year that they might have to break up that team, and a look at everyone’s contracts proves that otherwise. But Rob feels like they need to focus on getting the bench pieces back that they lost in order to turn it around. And after impressive starts, listeners what to know who Rob thinks will have a bigger impact on their team this season, Buddy Hield or Sabonis? And Rob is rolling with Buddy because he’s basically become the new splash brother. Rob also agrees with Baron Davis’s assessment that a Doc Rivers team is a “beatable team” and says they may need to blow up the Bucks entirely.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">There was also a weird streak that came to light this week, where the Houston Rockets haven’t beat the Golden State Warriors since February of 2020! That led us to ask Rob about teams he could not find a way to beat, and he says his Houston team couldn’t beat the Sonics because of their iconic lineup. <p class="MsoNormal">Rob joins us live from Napa Valley as he’s travelling again this week, but jumps right into the outstanding play of Anthony Davis so far this season and where he thinks the Lakers need to tighten up. For Rob that’s mostly due a young coach in JJ having no faith in his bench, but he needs to get a hold of that for the Lakers to make a deep run. We’re also surprised at how good the Cavs have been out of the gate, but Rob warns Donovan Mitchell to remember to let his teammates help and not put it all on his shoulders. Plus Jayson Tatum talks about being passed over by the Lakers in the 2017 Draft, and Rob says he understands why that happened because they needed a guard. His surprise came more from them passing on DeAaron Fox and taking Lonzo Ball.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">There are also some sinking ships that need to be discussed early on – and we start with the 1-6 Milwaukee Bucks, who have not looked cohesive to start this season, even though Giannis and Dame have both played well. And with losses like this come the rumors that Giannis is going to ask for a trade out of Milwaukee, so we play some “what if” scenarios with teams like the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls. That also leads us into the Philadelphia 76ers who are also only carrying one win into the third week of the season, and everyone on the show feels like the Sixers live and die with Embiid, and with him sitting out it will get worse before it gets better.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">We also have beefs to get into this week! We start with Kevin Durant vs Stephen A Smith, which is hard for us to understand due to Stephen A’s platform and reach – and Rob feels like KD is way too sensitive for a guy who wants to be the star of his team. The other beef of the week went down between DeMar DeRozan, who was happy to honor Vince Carter during his number retirement, and Drake who of course got himself into the middle of something again. And Jenners brings up the Miami Heat who hoisted a banner in honor of Bam Adebayo becoming a US Gold Medalist, and that sets everyone off on legacy recognition.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">We wrap it up with the funniest poster of the week, which went down in the Baylor-Gonzaga game – Rob shares that the kid that got dunked into the Earth was the coach’s son, which makes it that much funnier! He wanted to know what athletes could excel in other sports – and Jenners asks about NBA players specifically who we think could play in the NFL. Names like LeBron and Ant of course pop up, but Rob goes with the obvious picks of Charlie Ward and Jalen Suggs, who both played college football.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">As the season unfolds, Rob also wants to know what Wemby can do to put on weight before we get too far in, especially after that video surfaced this week of Stephen Adams backing him down in the post and there was nothing Wemby could do to stop him. Plus after Anthony Richardson checked himself out of the Colts game, it reminds Rob of the time he pulled himself out of a game, but not because he was tired but because he was mad at Latrell Sprewell. Listeners also want to know what Rob thought about Chris Paul taking a swing at Dillon Brooks in the scrum this week, and Rob says that if you wanted to fight a guy in his day you just did it, or met at center court like Kobe and Reggie Miller.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">We have even more listener questions on the table, including – Are the Magic poised for a breakout season? Is Russell Westbrook cooked, or just in the wrong system in Denver as Rob suggests? <p class="MsoNormal">Rob is live from Houston as the Rockets celebrate the 30<sup>th</sup> anniversary of their 1994-95 NBA Championship, which breaks into a conversation about what teams are beholden to their last championship and need to find a way past it. And of course we open with the wild conversation about the Dwyane Wade statue – as we all think it was really bad, but it appears that Wade had a hand in approving it before it was unveiled. We love that D-Wade got his statue, and Rob jokes that he ever were to get one he would want to make sure it looks exactly like him.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal">Plus the Lakers have come out of the gates strong, winners of three of their first four games, and Rob is happy with the system he’s seeing so far from LA. Joel Embiid also got T’d up even though he hasn’t played a game yet this season, due to “left knee management”, which scares everyone about how the Sixers season will play out if he remains on the bench. <p>We open the bonus show this week with audio of Stephen Adams - who appeared on a podcast this week and admitted he claimed to not speak English to avoid Kevin Garnett's trash talk. Rob talks about getting into it with KG on the floor but it was actually Charles Barkley who talked the most trash to him. Plus with Nike releasing Michael Jordan's eye-popping earnings from 2023, we ask Rob about missed investment opportunities, and Rob admits he had the chance to get in on the ground floor for Under Armor and Home Depot and missed out! Donovan Mitchell said this week that Stephen A's critique of his game is what motivated him, and Rob had a similar encounter with the legend Dick Vitale. And was Rob ever as unqualified as the Olympic break dancer that went super viral this week? He says his first times on TV were the only times he felt uneasy about doing something in sports. And with Cee Dee Lamb being a friend of Rob's family, we pick his brain about where that young man stands with his holdout, and how Dallas has fumbled this process with a few of its biggest stars. Finally a weird southern moment on the Tennessee Titans broadcast puts Rob's southern vernacular to the test, and we wonder how good will Spaceball 2 be now that it's announced.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We open a huge show this week with Rob having missed all the closing ceremonies, the idea of renting his house out for the Olympics in LA, and how he was taunting us from the front row of a Dodgers game last week. And of course we get into a huge breakdown of Team uSA, who won the gold but not without a lot of drama. Rob sounds off on the leaded audio of LeBron calling out Steve Kerr in the locker room, and agrees that on both the men’s team and women’s team there was a lot of bias from coaches who were playing the players they know. And Rob challenges the idea that only NBA coaches should be coaching Team USA, but if it has to be an NBA coach then it should be someone who doesn’t have any of their own players on the team. Recapping the gold medal game was easy, as we just relive Steph’s amazing daggers against France to bring it home. And amongst all that drama, B-Dog feels like LeBron is still the leader of that team… but Rob says it isn’t enough to be a leader on the floor, it has to count in the locker room too. But it didn’t mean much to Steve Kerr, who was anxious to throw flowers at the GOAT’s feet, even though LeBron was undermining him to the entire team. And we put the wraps on the Olympics by debating who the next group of guys are to pick up the mantle of Team USA. In NBA news, the Christmas Day games were announced – some great, some just okay – and how the NFL is coming for the NBA’s Christmas Day tradition. Giannis feels some sort of way about the Christmas schedule, as the Bucks weren’t included, and Rob is really in “show me” mode with that team now because they are always hurt. Plus Noah Lyles had a week, after he won the gold, then got Covid, then went clubbing, and finally having an article drop about how disrespected he felt to be invited to Anthony Edwards Adidas event. That even spurred the Cheetah, Tyreek Hill, who went from wanting to support him, to wanting to race him and beat him. Preseason football brings us the new kickoff rule, and with the Carolina Panthers plane sliding off the runway, Rob recounts a college plane flight where they all thought they were going to die. Finally the Big Shot of the Week to Magic guard Cole Anthony for giving back to his community, and very funny and odd round of a new game called Bet On Yourself.</p>

Plus we dive into Snoop Dogg’s format attire at the Olympics, and how Rob owns a LOT of tuxedos and suits, while Jenners doesn’t even own one. And after a French pole vaulter knocked off the crossbar with his junk, we ask Rob about his most embarrassing moments on the court. <p class="MsoNormal">We have lots more Team USA Basketball to talk about as we roll into the final week of Olympic play, and Rob is getting tired of Steve Kerr manipulating the starting line-up so much. He feels like you should be able to fine tune your best line-up and go dominate teams and show them you aren’t scared of match-ups. And when you have guys who are respectively the best players on their teams, they need to learn to check their ego and roll with the game plan so we can bring home gold for the USA. We also talk about just how close that 100M men’s race really was, Rob’s thoughts on Devin Booker saying that winning Olympic Gold is easier than winning an NBA title, and how beautiful the new Kobe and Gianna statue is in the pictures and how it hit us personally. Plus Rob sounds off on Draymond Green dressing down high school players for crying about fouls, when all he (and other NBA players) do the same thing on national television every night. And everyone has feelings about Chris Canty saying that LeBron would never command the respect from other pro players that Michael Jordan gets from generations of guys. We give out a big “party in the back” Big Shot of the Week, and play another hilarious round of Shootout.</p>

Plus after a Red Sox fans drops a ball over the Green Monster and embarrasses his wife on national television, we talk to Rob about the last time he embarrassed his wife in public… and he says when he got hammered at his birthday party. And we close out with some superhero talk after Deadpool & Wolverine killed it at the box office, because Rob is a little upset by the new Dr. Doom casting announcement.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We open this week’s show on the Summer Olympics, with Rob watching a lot of fencing, volleyball and of course hoops. We immediately dive into the story of the week surrounding Jayson Tatum’s lack of playing time in Game 1, and while Harper thinks it’s a non-story, Rob disagrees because Derrick White got minutes and he’s not even better than Tatum on his own team. And Joel Embiid feels like he’s the most “hated player in the league” and Rob says he’s not even close to that, and the pressure will continue to mount on him until he gets a title to Philadelphia. But Rob does not feel he’s overrated, as some have said this week, but he does feel like we’re all looking past Milwaukee in the East which makes Philly’s road to the Finals that much harder. And none of us like the TNT lawsuit against the NBA, but we also understand why the NBA folded to tech company money over Warner Brothers Discovery’s traditional broadcast money. Plus we touch on Zack LaVine staying in Chicago, the Paul Pierce vs Durant debate that Keyshawn Johnson spawned on Undisputed, and how Durant got into a scrap with everyone on Twitter over that debate. We also dish out an inspiring Big Shot of the Week to the young man who helped save his family during the Oklahoma tornados, and play a hilarious Olympics-themed version of Who’s Bigger!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We tip off the bonus show this week by talking about Kobe’s old locker from Staples Center going up for auction, as it could go for upwards of $1 million. Rob lets us know that Kobe and Shaq actually had TWO lockers because the lockers were small, and Rob says it was Portland that started the trend of bigger fancy lockers and recalls Denver had the fanciest locker room in his day. Plus Rob weighs in on Landon Miller – the son of OSU alumni Braxton Miller – getting offered a scholarship from FAU at 11 years old, and says the extent of his early recruitment was a bus trip to Kentucky for a small school called Cumberland College. The Suns and Celtics will actually have luxury tax bills in 25-26 that are higher than their actually team salary owed, and Rob feels like Boston can swing it but the Suns really can’t. And we are all in shock about the voodoo of Nick Castellanos hitting a home run during every major world event and wonder if this is worse than the Madden curse. And the Audio of the Week comes to us from an apartment resident who hilariously caught a couple having sex in the shared apartment pool!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We’re back in the regular routine this week – and we open the show with some talk about Team USA as the Olympics start this week. LeBron James gets the honor of carrying the flag for the USA during the Opening Ceremonies, and justly so as he’s been the best player on the floor for Team USA so far. And with LeBron and AD playing at this level, Rob tries to figure out why everyone is discounting the Lakers chances… and it all boils down to the surrounding cast of the Lakers. We also get into Evan Mobley’s HUGE deal in Cleveland, and Rob dissects what it’s going to take for that Cleveland line-up to take a step up and improve now that both Mobley and Spida are locked up. Plus Westbrook is on the move to Denver and Rob thinks it’s good fit, and probably his last shot at a title. But Rob wants to see Denver start replacing the talent they’ve lost, and Russ is just one piece to get them back to what they’re missing. Steve Ballmer’s halo board in the new Intuit Arena is AMAZING, but is that enough to lure talent to LA to play with Kawhi and Harden? We also go around on the state of New Jersey have NO CHANCE to steal the 76ers from Philly, how EA College Football 25 broke the bank, and Harper goes on a rant about how this is something every woman should get for his man to earn some brownie points. We discover that Rob loved to play Madden with Dabo Swinney in their college days, and Rob says he used to beat him all the time. There’s also some amazing audio of the week as Lane Kiffin burns Paul Finebaum down on his own show – and we debate how college football’s new conference alignment really screws over so many student athletes. Plus a Big Shot of the Week for a woman who got a sundae named after her at her favorite restaurant, from which we discover that there was a Robert Horry drink to be at PF Chang’s in LA. <p class="MsoNormal">We’re running a couple of days late this week, but we makeup for it with a huge show full of great topics! And we start with the post-credits scene from last week’s show, as Kawhi Leonard steps away from the Olympic team and Jaylen Brown gets the snub by Nike. Rob also offers up his opinion on the Bronny James narrative that has dominated the Summer League conversation, and says it’s important to remember that second round guys like Bronny are being evaluated for their potential, not that their current level – but Jenners disagrees, because he’s never have a shot at an NBA roster if his last name wasn’t James. We also debate if Jaylen Brunson leaving money on the table was the right move, because it largely depends on how management in New York handles using that money. And what kind of big could teams like New York and LA lure with the right coaching and situation? Paul Pierce taking credit for LeBron’s “next step” has Rob wondering why any player would take credit for another player’s hard work and talent – and how you can learn from a team of guys, but never just one guy. And how Barkley calling out the league for their new TV deal was spot on, whether John Wall deserves another shot in the league, how slanted Enes Kantor Freedom’s take is on LeBron James, and the destruction of Hard Rock Stadium by COPA America fans has us reminiscing about the craziest crowd we were ever a part of. <p>We open the bonus show this week with a great listener question, about which team made the best move in free agency. Rob says it was definitely Paul George to the Sixers, but B-Dog and Jenners both feel like you can't sleep on Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans. And speaking of the Sixers, with them bringing back the black jerseys from the Iverson days, we talk about our favorite throwback NBA jerseys... and the Magic pinstripes, 90's Hornets and old school Supersonics looks all make our list. Rob thinks this trend of "raw dogging" a flight by doing nothing at all is psychotic, he can't juggle like Wemby after video of him has gone viral, and how much Kevin Bacon hated being "a regular person" as Rob reflects on the few perks he gets from being well known. And with Futurama coming back again this month, we talk about the TV shows that we'd love to see another season of, including The Wire, Boondocks and the Sopranos.</p>

<p>As we approach the start of the Summer Olympics in Paris, we get heavy into the Team USA lineup and how Anthony Edwards has the big confidence going into the games. Rob also brings up the question about whether or not Joel Embiid should be on Team USA considering he's been a US citizen less than two years. Rob says he should NOT be on the team but is probably playing for the US, instead of Cameroon, because it's his best chance to win gold. And we argue extensively about who we believe should make up the starting five for Team USA. Paul George breaks down the circumstances that lead to him leaving the Clippers for Philly, and how disrespected he felt by the offers LA put on the table. Rob also feels like Philly was a better landing spot than Golden State, which is where PG almost landed in a sign-and-trade. Plus Steph finally spoke out about losing Klay, and we all believe that while Klay didn't get a heritage contract, Steph Curry would definitely get that deal to stay. We also ask Rob how disappointed he is in the Lakers free agency moves, and he says the Lakers are fine because no one ever wants to help them. And we debate if the Caleb Martin move is indicative of the Heat's decline, a shout out to Angel Reese for breaking a WNBA record, and a cool Big Shot of the Week to a 4th of July hero. Plus it's the return of Walmart or Waffle House!</p>

And after Cubs pitcher Justin Steele flipped out in the Chicago Cubs dugout, we ask Rob who gave one of his teams the loudest and angriest talk during or after a game. Plus after the Gladiator trailer dropped we talk about movies and shows that everyone else loves… and our Mount Rushmore of NBA greats that have never won a title.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">It’s an ENORMOUS NBA show this week, as free agency and extensions have gone insane! We start with the story that had us confused all weekend, as the Lakers draft Bronny James with the 55<sup>th</sup> pick… and not because the Lakers drafted him, but because Rich Paul was calling teams telling them “don’t draft Bronny.” We get into the business decision of it all, and how Bronny doesn’t get his “draft moment” on stage, and it might hamper his growth as a player. But Rob is excited to see what he does for the Summer League. Of course we discuss Paul George signing with the Sixers, as people believe that Philly is the one team in the East to compete with Boston, and Rob says that solely rests on the health of those Big 3. We also get into Jayson Tatum’s record breaking deal, with his five-year $315M contract… and when you look at the money, the Celtics roster will be owed upwards of a BILLION dollars. And the Luxury Tax bill is also a record setter! And how about Klay Thompson turning down more money from the Lakers! Rob says he likely feels like Dallas has a better shot to win, and of course there’s no state tax! But was Klay owed a legacy contract from Golden State? Plus Donovan’s Mitchell big extension with the Cavs, KCP’s move to Orlando, Chris Paul to the Spurs, Dejounte Murray teaming with Zion Williamson in New Orleans, and the Nets continue to try and move on from Ben Simmons. And a Big Shot of the Week goes to the Dodgers ball boy who saved Shohei Ohtani’s life on a foul ball!</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The bonus show opens with the audio of Udonis Haslem saying the Heat are the biggest threat to the Celtics in the East, and Rob disagrees because he’s overlooking Milwaukee and Philly, as well as the future of Jimmy Butler in Miami. We also take a look at the game-changing amount of money that Stephen A Smith is asking of ESPN, and with Stephen A on the table we discuss his reaction to the Kelly Stafford admission that she dated Matt’s back-up at Georgia – and Rob did the same thing to a teammate! Plus we joke at the “Nuttin But Azz” tournament getting cancelled in New Jersey, the real impact of low prices at sporting events, and a UK cooking host that can’t say “microwave”.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We go big with Robert Horry on the Lakers hiring JJ Redick, who brings no coaching experience to arguably one of the biggest coaching positions in the NBA. Rob has said previously he thought the hire wasn’t the best move for the Lakers, and says he thinks for the Lakers to find any success with this hire is to have some amazing and experienced coaches on his staff. We also debate whether those assistants are putting themselves in line for when JJ fails, how much the podcast with LeBron influenced this hire for the Lakers, and what truth there is to the concept that LeBron and JJ had no discussions about this job before it was offered. Monty Williams getting dismissed from the Pistons with 5 years left on his deal also hits the floor, and how surprised we are that the Lakers didn’t take a look at Monty before hiring JJ. Plus we dive into the Cavs hiring Kenny Atkinson over Borrego, the massive extension for Scottie Barnes in Toronto, the Caruso-Giddey trade being a steal for the Thunder, and all the strangeness headed into Wednesday’s NBA Draft. And somehow the Rockets are being presented as in “win now mode” which we’re not really seeing, and if they have the clout to lure another star to Houston. Finally a really dope Big Shot of the Week to a New Orleans reporter, and a game based on JJ called “First Timers”.</p>

Listener questions this week include whether or not the NBA should start showing the introduction of the starting players on TV, and Rob says he didn’t even realize they don’t do it anymore because he used to love seeing them. And do the Lakers NEED to have a head coach by the Draft? Rob says maybe not this season but you always want a coach’s input on the picks you make for the future. We also debate if the New Orleans Pelicans should pay Brandon Ingram his $55 million a season extension, and dive into the wild LEGO theft ring in Rob’s neighborhood in Southern California.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We kick off this week’s show fresh off the Celtics winning the NBA Championship, and Rob says Boston’s coaching and defensive effort is what got it done against Dallas. And despite a dominant season, Rob does NOT believe the Celtics will win it again, as he thinks that bigger teams from the West will break through and match up better against them then Dallas did. As for the Mavericks, Rob thinks this was a “one shining moment” for them, because teams like Denver and Minnesota will be back in the mix and will find a way to get better. We also discuss Jaylen Brown winning the Finals MVP, Doris Burke making history, and Joel Embiid saying that Boston is not the new dynasty in the NBA, because he will get healthy, and so will Milwaukee in the East alone. We also debate who teams like Philly and the Bucks can add to take that leap to eclipse Boston in the East. It’s also starting to look like Klay Thompson will hit free agency (if reports are to be believed) so Rob weighs in on where Klay would be the best fit. Plus with Charles Barkley announcing he’s retiring from television after next season, Rob believes it will change the landscape of sports television, especially NBA, because of his dynamic personality. Audio of the week is from Snoop Dogg who was in the booth for the Brewers and the Reds, and him calling baseball is electric! We also feature some classic audio from NBA history with Ron Artest shooting a huge three in the Lakers-Celtics finals 14 years ago, and a really inspiring Big Shot of the Week from a doctor in Africa. And we’re all waiting for either Luka or Kyrie to take over a game or two and extend the series. Rob also weighs in on Shaq’s comments that he wasn’t the best player on the Lakers during their title runs, as he disagrees with the big fella, saying he was both the best and most dominant player on the floor. Dan Hurley also shot down an offer to coach the Lakers this week, leading Rob to reaffirm that JJ is going to be the hire, as he does not think Borrego is a good coach. And Rob feels like Caitlin Clark needs to earn her stripes in the WNBA before expecting a spot on the Olympic team, because as he goes through the roster of all-time greats that are playing, she just doesn’t stack up yet. Plus some more Hall of Fame love from Rob from Rudy Tomjanovich, a really cool Big Shot of the Week, and Rob and Harper square off in a hilarious round of Shootout!</p>
