Ep 20Why Evolving (in fitness, and in life) Is Scary But Worth It, with Steph Gaudreau — Muscle Maven Radio Episode #20
This podcast is all about evolution: how scary, difficult, frustrating, and ultimately freeing empowering it can be to figure out how to let go of things that aren't serving you anymore and allow yourself to grow, change, and move on. Whether in fitness, business, relationships, or life in general, the key to authenticity and happiness is being able to learn from your experiences, pick and choose what works for you, and sometimes, take a leap into the unknown. Today's guest, nutritional therapy consultant, podcast host, author, and fitness and nutrition coach Steph Gaudreau talks about her own journey, including her recent significant rebranding and all the fear that comes with rebuilding after the painstaking process of building a brand and a following. Steph talks about shifting priorities, stepping out of a "scarcity mindset," and how staying true to yourself, even when that truth changes, is the best way to live and build a business. Steph Gaudreau's mission is to help women create bigger, bolder, fiercer lives — by building health from the inside out She's a Nutritional Therapy Consultant, author, blogger, coach, podcaster, and the creator of the former Stupid Easy Paleo. Steph wrote the best-seller The Paleo Athlete: A Beginner's Guide to Real Food for Performance in 2014, and her award-winning book, The Performance Paleo Cookbook: Recipes for Eating Better, Getting Stronger & Gaining the Competitive Edge. Her upcoming book The Core 4, due out in July 2019, shares her Core 4 pillars of health. Steph hosts her Harder to Kill Radio podcast, where she talks all things fitness, nutrition and mindset about how to build unbreakable humans. She's also the creator of the Core 4 health program, and the Women's Strength Summit. Steph's an accomplished strength coach (USA Weightlifting Level 1) and is the creator of fitness programs like Made Strong, Basic Barbell, and Oly Lifting Basics. She coached Olympic weightlifting at CrossFit Fortius in San Diego for 3.5 years and holds numerous CrossFit certifications. Minute Breakdown: 0 - 17 Ashleigh starts the podcast by talking about her own health and fitness journey and evolution 17 – 27 Steph talks about what it's like to have a busy online business, how she structures her day, and tips for how to stay focused and avoid distraction when working from home 27 –43 Ashleigh and Steph talk about stepping out of fitness-related comfort zones, including switching from CrossFit to Brazilian jiu jitsu, and how her background in CrossFit and Olympic lifting helps inform her current movement and exercise 43 – 49 Talking about her rebrand from her popular Stupid Easy Paleo platform to her new eponymous brand, with less of a focus on a specific diet protocol and more on helping women with nutrition, fitness, and mindset: helping women find their voices and feel empowered to take up space in their lives and careers 49 – 1:02 Learning about the pros and cons of labels and categories, whether it's labeling your brand or your nutrition or your fitness approach; how it can be both helpful and limiting 1:02 – Discussing the evolution of her fitness and business and how she learned to worry less about making everyone happy and more about making herself happy, through supporting other women in their journeys. So often, women are expected to be "palatable" to everyone, says Steph: not too strong, not too outspoken, pleasing and cute and happy to fit in to the mold others set for them. But doing the hard work of staying true to ourselves, even when it's hard, will reflect positively in our businesses, our relationships, and even our fitness. Ep 18How a recovering perfectionist can find health and balance (and still be fit af) with Jill Coleman — Muscle Maven Radio Episode #18
Jill Coleman coaches fitness coaches on how to build their business, find their passion, and balance their own health and happiness too. Coming from a background of fitness competitions and modeling, she's certainly not the first fitness pro who's struggled with dysfunctional attitudes towards eating and exercise and self-acceptance, but she's done a fantastic job of doing the hard work that it takes to get unstuck from a cycle of shame, self-blame, and overwork to a place where she can help others as well as take care of herself. In this interview, we deep dive into how we can be a contributing, authentic part of the health and fitness industry without becoming obsessive; her experiences from fitness competitions and yo-yo-dieting to finding her version of moderation; how she grew from a scarcity mindset to one based on balance; knowing the difference between ambition and obsession; and how to snap out of a rut, be it in business, life, or fitness. Jill Coleman's journey in health and fitness began when she got her first job at a gym at 15 (for the free membership). Jill earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and went on to earn an M.S. in Human Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport. While she learned a lot during her years of exercise science and nutrition education, fitness competitions and modeling, and having her work featured in SELF magazine, SHAPE, Women's Health magazine, and more, she also found herself struggling with food and exercise obsession. Through a lot of hard work and introspection, Jill was able to work on making balance, moderation, and health a priority over six pack abs, and launched her personal brand at JillFit.com in 2010, which has since evolved from a fitness competition prep service to a range of comprehensive online programs and resources for women who want to break the cycle of shame, unsustainable diet, and punishing exercise to create a life they love encompassing mindset, fitness, and business. Minute Breakdown: 7 - 23 Introduction to Jill and her work coaching and teaching other fitness coaches; her thoughts on how you can be a leader in the fitness industry without being obsessive 23 – 33 Her experiences with fitness and bodybuilding competitions, both positive and negative 33 – 47 A discussion of a key moment in her life (the discovery of her husband's affair) and how Jill escaped what she called a "blame culture" and worked on healing through introspection and sharing 47 – 59 A conversation about how to tell your own story: knowing how to market yourself as a coach or trainer by being aware of what you can offer and what people are looking for 59 – 1:07 How she made her way out of a creative rut by writing a full length romance novel – which she doesn't plan on publishing! 1:07 – 1:19 Finding the balance between ambition, challenging yourself, working hard, and enjoying your life; the importance of goal setting 1:19 – 1:28 Talk about the biggest challenges of fitness coaching (spoiler alert, it's expectation management) Getting people to just keep showing up to the process. We are in the trust business, which takes time to earn. 1:28 How to be useful, authentic, and interesting on the internet for your business, and why popularity on social media doesn't necessarily correlate to coaching success; you have to know how to use it effetively. Ep 78Chatting with Tommy Hackenbruck — Real Chalk #78
Tommy Hackenbruck happened to be the owner of the first CrossFit gym I ever stepped foot in. At the time, I didn't even know what the CrossFit Games were or who Tommy really was. He was always a super humble guy who never even made it a point to tell me that he got 2nd place at the CrossFit Games. He later became the Broken Skulk Ranch Champion, an owner of multiple gym locations (which was rare at the time), and worked out alone most of the time at a place called "Gym Jones" which has always been a famous training spot that requires an invitation to walk through the door. I wasn't invited for a few years... Anyway, while I was out in Columbus, Ohio I happened to walk by Tommy as he was getting ready for the "Legends" competition at the Rogue Invitational. I haven't talked to him in years and wanted to catch up and see what he's been up to. He had a few things to say about his career and business life. Things he'd do different and things that helped him succeed. It's always good to hear anything from someone who's been in the game this long. Ep 17Stress Less, Win More. Lessons From One of The World's Best Ultra-Endurance Runners, Courtney Dauwalter — Muscle Maven Radio Episode #17
Ultra endurance runner Courtney Dauwalter is pretty chill for a person who can run more than 200 miles without stopping. She's run plenty of 100 mile + races, often breaking and setting records, often beating the rest of the pack (men and women) by significant margins. Take the Moab 240 race in Utah last year, where she 238 miles in under 58 hours, crushing the male second-place finisher by more than ten hours. In addition to her seemingly superhuman feats of endurance and resilience, Courtney is equally well known for her relaxed, positive, and uncomplicated attitude towards competition, pain, and training. Whether you're an endurance racer or not, we can all learn something about approaching our own struggles, challenges, and goals with a resilient, focused, and positive mindset like Courtney. Listen as we chat about her background in sports, some of her hardest races and craziest challenges, how she trains, how she eats, and how she deals with failure, and why the path to greatness means approaching challenge and pain as "fun problem solving." Courtney Dauwalter is an American ultramarathon runner, who gained mainstream attention in 2016 when she won the Run Rabbit Run 100-miler in Colorado less than one minute off the course record and set the record on the Javelina Jundred 100K. In 2017, she set the record for the longest run in 24 hours, at 155.391 miles during the Riverbank One Day Classic. She also won the 2017 Run Rabbit Run during which she battled temporary blindness for the final 12 miles. In 2018, she ran 279.2 miles in what's known as Big's Backyard Ultra, a grueling race during which runners have to complete a 4.16667-mile loop each hour: the last person standing wins. By the third night of that race, only Dauwalter and Johan Steene remained. After going mile for mile with Steene for 67 hours, Dauwalter conceded. At that point, she and Steene had run 33 miles farther in the race than anyone had before. Also in 2018, she finished the Moab 240 race in Utah in 2 days, 9 hours, and 59 minutes, faster than any of the men or women in the pack and beating the second-place finisher by more than 10 hours. Courtney is equally as well known for her baggy running shorts, penchant for beer and candy, and positive, easygoing outlook in the face of near insurmountable challenges. Here's a short YouTube documentary about Courtney and article about her in the New York Times. Minute Breakdown: 4 - 13 Introduction to Courtney and her most recent race, what her training and racing season looks like 13 – 16 Her background in high school cross country and other sports, and what fuels her competitive streak and drive to push and compete, even when it's only against herself. What kind of strategy does she employ to keep pushing boundaries, even when she's winning by hours? 16 –24 What does her pre-race week look like? What does her sleep look like? What time does she train, how does she train? Find out why she doesn't listen to music on her crazy long training runs 24 – 42 A deep dive into her mindset around training and her notably relaxed attitude towards the details: why she isn't putting a lot of thought into recovery, diet, or new technology 42 – 52 How do ultra runners eat and fuel themselves during training and during actual races? 52 – 59 How she thinks about mental resilience: how she talks about herself, how she deals with failures 59 – 1:04 We talk about some of her scarier injuries and experiences during races, including falls and suffering corneal edema (temporary blindness) during a race – which she still finished 1: 04 – What upcoming races and goals is Courtney working on? Ep 16Finding Your Authentic Self Through Physical Movement – What We Can Learn From Competitive CrossFitter, Surf instructor, Firefighter, and Coach Vanessa Lambert — Muscle Maven Radio Episode #16
Ashleigh chats with Vanessa Lambert, co-founder of Bee the Wellness, a health coaching and luxury healthy adventure retreat business, about her varied and eclectic background in fitness ranging from gymnastics to competitive surfing to CrossFit to firefighting and beyond, about the ways in which challenging yourself through physical activity can teach you who you really are. A health and fitness enthusiast since childhood, Vanessa came into coaching quite accidentally. As a promising young gymnast, her coach asked if she would instruct the introductory classes at her gym. Her natural love of the movement was only deepened by sharing it with others. No stranger to competitive sport, Vanessa played soccer, basketball, swam competitively, and was also co-captain of her cheerleading squad. In her early 20's she moved to Maui to improve her surfing practice and became one of the first female surf instructors in the Hawaiian islands. She and Adam were also an integral part of the CrossFit NorCal team that took third place in the affiliate games in 2009. It would be her years at NorCal Strength and Conditioning training under the tutelage of Robb Wolf and his wife Nicki, and later working with Mark Sisson, that her ancestral wellness practice would deepen. Working closely with Mark at the Primal Blueprint headquarters over four years, Vanessa developed their personal coaching program and luxury retreat vacations. This experience is what motivated her to co-create the Bee The Wellness program with her husband Adam, whom she met through their mutual work as firefighters. These days, her focus is to help as many people as possible become the very best version of themselves. Minute Breakdown: 2 - 15 Introduction to Vanessa and how sports helped her build confidence from a very young age 15 – 19 The sports Vanessa and Ashleigh think are ideal for young people in terms of body awareness, strength, and confidence 19 – 35 Vanessa's experience learning about surfing and moving to Hawaii to compete in surfing and become one of the first female surf instructors in Maui at the time 35 – 45 Why she decided to get into firefighting, and the challenges of the job as a 5'3, 125 pound woman; why the job is incredibly hard on your health and how to work around its challenges 45 – 55 How she and her husband got into CrossFit in the very early days, and what competing in the sport taught her about strength, capability, and goal-setting 55 – 1:07 How Vanessa and Adam developed their coaching business and luxury retreats company; a discussion of some of the coaching programs they offer, including her Authentic Self program 1:07 – 1:16 How she combines spirituality and mental health with physical health 1:16 – 1:19: Why "adventurous" retreats are so revelatory, especially for women who may be traveling or going on an adventure alone for the first time 1:19 - What she's learned about the human condition and physical and mental strength through her work coaching and going on adventures for a living Learn more at beethewellness.com and follow along on Instagram @beethewellness Reach out to me on Instagram @themusclemaven to say hi and tell me what you thought of the podcast, head to ashleighvanhouten.com to sign up for my weekly health and fitness newsletter, and if you enjoyed the episode please share on social media and leave me a nice rating and review on iTunes! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Show notes: http://www.shruggedcollective.com/mmr-lambert ---------------------------------------------------------------------- @Hylete- Hylete.com - MMR15 for 15% ► Subscribe to Shrugged Collective's Channel Here http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedSubscribe 📲 🎧 Listen to the audio version on the Apple Podcast App or Stitcher for Android Here- http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedApple http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedStitcher Shrugged Collective is a network of fitness, health and performance shows that help people achieve their physical and mental health goals. Ep 15A "Strong First" Approach To Improving Performance And Combatting Autoimmune Disease with Dr. Emily Kiberd- Muscle Maven Radio Episode #15
This week Ashleigh talks with Dr. Emily Kiberd, a chiropractic physician and founder of the Urban Wellness Clinic in New York City, about what a strength-focused, holistic chiropractor actually does and does not do; what is hypermobility, why it can be problematic for stability and athletic performance, and how to address it; and how strength training can improve mobility and stability, and (surprisingly) address issues like autoimmune disease, a complex and varied health challenge that disproportionally effects women. Dr. Kiberd is a chiropractic physician and founder of the Urban Wellness Clinic in New York City; the clinic's mission is to optimize every patient's health, so they live—sprint, lift, race, or stand—without pain. She is a 200-hour-certified yoga instructor, and develops wellness programs for corporate clients, including Fortress Investment Group, Corbin Capital, Sundance Channel, and Fortune 500 companies. Ep 134Neuromuscular Re-Education — The Bledsoe Show #134
Garrett is the founder of NeuFit in Austin, Texas. But that didn't happen overnight. Growing up as a hockey player, he struggled with his own injuries and lack of natural athleticism. These experiences inspired him to do thousands of hours of research and try almost everything that's out there. During that process, he met disappointment after disappointment, and became extremely frustrated. In parallel, he ended up studying to become an Engineer. Seeing nothing but dead ends in the physical therapy realm, Engineering was going to be his "day job" and allow him to build real solutions to problems. Fortunately, in his last year of college ice hockey (he ended up making some progress and become a practice-squad player), he had a chance encounter with a Functional Neurologist. The new approach he encountered ended up being a big "Eureka!" moment, and he healed torn ligaments on their own - without surgery! He finally learned about the power of the Nervous System, and found a way to turn his passion for the human body into a way to make a difference in people's lives. After some formal apprenticeship and more self-study, he opened his first facility in 2009. It was a very humble beginning: just Garrett and some equipment in 250 square feet. He continued to evolve, studying with various mentors, performing lots of experimentation, and even entering a Ph.D. program in Neuroscience. Fortunately, his work had a big impact in people's lives and started to catch on in the community. Now, the business has grown to one of the premier fitness and rehabilitation facilities in the country. On any given day, you will likely see some professional and Olympic athletes, along with executives and homemakers, all working to improve their health and fitness. In addition, dozens of other facilities around the country have adopted the NeuFit technology and approach. During that time, Garrett also patented and launched a new electrical stimulation device, the NEUBIE. It is a very powerful tool that allows NeuFit practitioners to accelerate their clients progress in fitness and injury recovery. The NEUBIE has now helped people of all ages and in almost all situations, helping them get out of pain, improve performance, sometimes avoid surgeries and get out of wheelchairs, and live life at a higher level. He maintains a limited practice schedule in Austin, and spends more time teaching other practitioners and presenting his work around the country. Garrett breaks down the benefits of the Neufit sessions and how it stimulates the body while training. Discussions on how Neufit tapps into nervous system in a different way . Teaching you how to activate different muscles. Instilling new patterns for engaging muscles and benefit than more traditional methods and technologies. Neuromuscular rééducation. Minute Breakdown: 0 - 18 Discovering where the biggest problems are in the body and correcting those. What was the first injury that started a domino effect to cause other injuries and pain? How to understand and fix that. The importance of how we respond to injuries is just as important as fixing injuries themselves. 18 - 29 Breaking patterns to help with injuries and prevent them. The importance of flexibility and lengthening muscles. How the body tightens up to avoid injury. Protective reactions and why they are good but also counterproductive for healing and movement. 29 - 42 How one treatment helped a man's back feel better over the last year than the last 15 years. Empowering people to know you can improve an you don't need to rely on drugs or people. You can do it now. 42 - 50: Garret touches on his journey from inventor, scientist, to running a business and wearing different hats. How Neufit has changed so many lives and the growth it has seen. 50 + The progress people have made from a rehab perspective. The neurological approval to Neufit and how this has helped people with spinal injuries, brain injuries. How people have walked out of wheelchairs from these sessions. Ep 14Foxy, Fit, and Functional – You Can Have It All with Marcus Filly's Functional Bodybuilding Approach — Muscle Maven Radio Episode #14
Marcus Filly grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and had a collegiate career in soccer at the University of California, Berkeley. There he earned his degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Nutrition and Physiology. After Berkeley he complete a year of graduate work at the Ohio State University School of Medicine. His interest in both athletics and human health and performance eventually led him to CrossFit in 2007. He has gone on to compete at the CrossFit Games 6 times, three times as an individual (2016 12th fittest) and three times as a team member (2012 6th fittest team). Marcus has been a health and fitness coach for ten years since leaving medical school in 2009. He was formerly a CrossFit facility owner for five years, has completed all five of the OPEX CCP courses, and has coached clients remotely from all over the world. Marcus founded Revival Strength, based in San Rafael, California, to help clients from diverse fitness backgrounds fall in love with their training. Revival Strength also offers remote and online group training programs. What better way to work on looking, feeling, and performing better than to learn from someone who's had a lot of success doing it. Elite CrossFit athlete, gym owner, and trainer Marcus Filly talk to us about the evolution of his own approach to training, mindset and coaching as he went from his twenties to thirties, and his shift in approach from maximum intensity competitive CrossFit to longevity, recovery, and functional training, while still maintaining a high level of performance (and beach bod muscles). We talk about the growth of functional bodybuilding, his personalized approach to coaching, how he works, trains, and eats, and how to shift your mindset: stop comparing your current self to your former self, and instead embrace new challenges, goals, and training paradigms. Minute Breakdown: 0 - 19 What is functional bodybuilding? We dive straight into a meathead discussion on injury prevention, hybrid training, and how to manage our desire for intensity and tendency for overtraining. How can high performing and recreational athletes alike still chase goals, challenge themselves, and look good in different phases of their life? 19 – 29 How to remove the ego from training; why pain is a powerful motivator; why comparison rarely has the positive outcomes you hope it will; and how exploring new training methodologies can improve your fitness as you get older 29 – 33 Talking about his experience training under James Fitzgerald and taking all 5 of the OPEX CCP courses and how this informs his training and coaching 33 – 38 Why the key, as a trainer, is to listen and truly understand what clients want; being able to support both elite athletes and the majority of people who just want to look and feel better without simply pushing your own personal approach 38 – 52 What's a day in Marcus' life like? How does he balance work and health, and how does he turn his challenges—in life and business—into learning opportunities 52 – We chat about nutrition and his personal approach, including some testing he had recently that informed him that he shouldn't be drinking coffee – Ashleigh offers an alternative ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Show notes: http://www.shruggedcollective.com/mmr-filly ---------------------------------------------------------------------- @Hylete- Hylete.com - Mavin15 for 15% off ► Subscribe to Shrugged Collective's Channel Here http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedSubscribe 📲 🎧 Listen to the audio version on the Apple Podcast App or Stitcher for Android Here- http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedApple http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedStitcher Shrugged Collective is a network of fitness, health and performance shows that help people achieve their physical and mental health goals. Ep 73Why Branding And Vibes Are Everything With Games Podium Finisher, Gym Owner, And Clothing Brand Entrepreneur Justin Ahrens — Real Chalk #73
In this week's episode I visit my friend Justin Ahrens (@justin.ahers) in Eugene Oregon and chat about his new gym and clothing brand that have been doing quite well in a short period of time. We discuss a lot about how he runs his gym, why branding is important, and how the vibe is everything. Did I mention that Justin just happens to be a CrossFit Games podium finisher for the team division? And he's been in the game for just as long as I have. Side note... In college he was a competitive golfer. Weird huh? Anyway, this is a great easy listen that reiterates how important the "little things" are in business and life. Hope you enjoy it and follow Justin and his new clothing brand called Treeline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Show notes: http://www.shruggedcollective.com/rc-ahrens ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ► Subscribe to Shrugged Collective's Channel Here http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedSubscribe 📲 🎧 Listen to the audio version on the Apple Podcast App or Stitcher for Android Here- http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedApple http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedStitcher Shrugged Collective is a network of fitness, health and performance shows that help people achieve their physical and mental health goals. Ep 389John Cena: The One Ton Challenge - The Greatest Weightlifting Challenge of Your Life — Barbell Shrugged #389
Looking for a fun event for strong people? Look no farther. The One Ton Challenge is the most fun weightlifting competition you will ever complete. It tests your lifelong pursuit of strength and leaves out the unnecessary formalities...and cardio. The One Ton Club — A club at Cena's gym of people who can lift a total of one ton or 2,000 lb. in 48 hours doing 6 lifts: squat, clean, jerk, snatch, deadlift and bench. Anders Varners made it to the one ton club! Cena created the One Ton Club as a way to make training more fun by gamifying it. If you made the One Ton Club, you get a special shirt, and your name will be on the door or wall. Set up the BBQ, get your friends, turn up the music, and use The One Ton Challenge as your motivation to pursue strength! There's no need to qualify. You don't have to be in the top 1% to participate. Strong people don't run from a challenge, they attack it head on. The purpose is not achieving a certain number. The purpose is to get better. With a goal specific program designed to build strength and perfect technique, you will get better. The One Ton Challenge Starter Kit is your step-by-step guide to testing your lifelong pursuit of strength. To ensure you get results, we have developed The One Ton Training Program with the most successful strength coach in the country, Travis Mash. This program is broken down into six, eight week training blocks. Each training block builds full body strength in the major weightlifting (snatch, clean, jerk) and powerlifting lifts (squat, bench, deadlift) with a focus on a specific lift that you will have to master in order to reach your goal of One Ton or 1500 for women. Coach Travis Mash is no stranger to strength. He is 46 years old and still front squats over 500 pounds. He had more athletes compete in the Weightlifting World Championships than any other coach in America in 2018. He has many freakishly strong athletes include Hunter Elam, Nathan Damron and Morgan McCullough. The One Ton Challenge Training Program is a 4-6 day/week program that provides strength training, technique drills, and movement specific accessory work to build full body strength, while mastering each lift to smash through the 2,000 pound goal using just 6 lifts (again… snatch, clean, jerk, squat, bench, deadlift). Are your strong enough to be in the One Ton Club? Are you ready to take on the One Ton Challenge? Get ready. -Anders and Doug ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Show notes at: http://www.shruggedcollective.com/bbs-prologue ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ► Subscribe to Barbell Shrugged's Channel Here ► Subscribe to Shrugged Collective's Channel Here http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedSubscribe 📲 🎧 Listen to the audio version on the Apple Podcast App or Stitcher for Android Here- http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedApple http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedStitcher Shrugged Collective is a network of fitness, health and performance shows that help people achieve their physical and mental health goals. Ep 72The Terrifying Truth Of The "School Lunch" — Real Chalk #72
5 billion lunches are served annually through the National School Lunch Program. In this podcast we touch on the quality of food that your kids are actually eating at school, the macros in the food, and the terrifying statistics that follow when digested. Obesity rates have tripled since 1980. Something needs to be done. At the current rate, 40% of girls in elementary school right now will one day be diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. About 3 out of every 4 students is either overweight or obese right now and they will retain that weight as they get older. In addition, students who eat school lunch are more than 4 times likely to obtain significantly less information than their healthy lunch brining counterparts. They are less likely to want to do physical activity. And they downright just don't have the same brain development as kids who are eating healthy. I'm personally sickened by this. I'm hoping this podcast will help educate many and scare them just enough to do something at your next school meeting or force parents to help meal prep for their kids. YOU are helping create your children's future by the food you feed them everyday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Show notes: http://www.shruggedcollective.com/rc-maher ------------------------------------------------------------------------------► Subscribe to Shrugged Collective's Channel Here http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedSubscribe 📲 🎧 Listen to the audio version on the Apple Podcast App or Stitcher for Android Here- http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedApple http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedStitcher Shrugged Collective is a network of fitness, health and performance shows that help people achieve their physical and mental health goals. Ep 387Biohacking Your Way To A World Record Bench Press with Emily Hu and Halo Sport CTO Brett Wingeier — Barbell Shrugged #387
Halo Sport is the first-ever brain stimulator used to accelerate movement-based learning. Ep 71Hard Work Beats Talent: My Story of Couch Surfing to a 7 Figure Business — Real Chalk #71
We all need inspiring stories to keep us motivated and remind us of what is possible. Sometimes we settle with mediocre and forget what our original goals were. We forget what we were put on this earth to do. We get scared. We fail. We make excuses. We put ourselves in a place with limits. But what if... What if our soul has another plan the whole time? What if we don't know what it is, but it keeps us awake at night? It reminds us that what we are doing is either right or wrong. It consumes our every movement, breathe, thought, and action. It is a gut feeling that never steers you in the wrong direction. It is... Everything you were meant to be and more. You just have to trust it. This is my story. It always gets me emotional, so I'm sorry for the sad parts, but it's enough to light you up for the week and it's real shit that we can all accomplish. Enjoy! I love you all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Show notes: http://www.shruggedcollective.com/rc-fischer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ► Subscribe to Shrugged Collective's Channel Here http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedSubscribe 📲 🎧 Listen to the audio version on the Apple Podcast App or Stitcher for Android Here- http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedApple http://bit.ly/BarbellShruggedStitcher Shrugged Collective is a network of fitness, health and performance shows that help people achieve their physical and mental health goals.
