This is a wearable case for the Adafruit Monster M4SK. The 3D Printed case snap fits together and lets you add a headband so you can wear it. The case has all of electronics so it’s nice and portable little package. The open frame design shows off the silkscreen so you enjoy the lovely artwork. You can wear it as a pair of goggles or work it into your costume projects. They can be worn over your eyes, just be careful as you won’t be able to see very well. The Adafruit monster Mask packs a ton of awesome stuff into one single board. It’s running a cortex M4, it’s got 8 megabytes of flash storage, USB charging and 2x IPS TFT displays. It also has buttons, light sensor, expansion ports and accelerometer. Be sure to check out the product page for the full run down. For a quick start, definitely check out the learn guide. The board has native USB support, so you can upload code and recharge the battery. It works like a USB drive so you can drag and drop bitmaps to change up the graphics. You can modify the look and customize the eyes by editing a special config file. There’s lots of great project examples so you can get started right away! This week we're building on last week's Machine Learning project where we run the MobileNet v2 1000-object detector on the Raspberry Pi 4 + BrainCraft HAT (video). This time we're running MobileNet V2 SSD Lite, which can do segmented detections. in this case it has only 90 objects it can detect but it can draw a box around the objects found. That's displayed on the 1.5" TFT on the HAT for human verification. This model's not as fast as the non-segment object detector, about 1.5 fps. The idea behind the BrainCraft board (stand-alone, and Pi “hat”) is that you’d be able to “craft brains” for Machine Learning on the EDGE, with Microcontrollers & Microcomputers. On ASK AN ENGINEER, our founder & engineer chatted with Pete Warden, the technical lead of the mobile, embedded TensorFlow Group on Google’s Brain team about what would be ideal for a board like this. And here’s a first look! We’ve started to design a BrainCraft HAT for Raspberry Pi and other linux computers. It has a 240×240 TFT display for inference output, slot for Camera connector cable for imaging projects, a 5 way joystick and button for UI input, left and right microphones, stereo headphone, stereo speaker out, three RGB dotstar LEDs, two 3 pin STEMMA connectors on PWM pins so they can drive NeoPixels or servos, and grove/stemma/qwiic I2C port. This should let people build a wide range of audio/video AI projects while also allowing easy plug in of sensors and robotics!
