Following up on our earlier mass-storage support announcement for TinyUSB, we just added WebUSB support! You can now send and receive data over Chrome (or other WebUSB) browsers with Javascript or whatever else is your favorite web programming language. This can make for really interesting interactions where people don't need any drivers or software to send/receive commands, or perhaps to expose some sort of REPL. The example code is here: https://github.com/hathach/tinyusb/blob/master/examples/device/webusb_serial/src/main.c and here's what the webpage code looks like: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_TinyUSB_Arduino/tree/master/docs/examples/webusb-serial We'll be adding this to our Arduino library shortly, and will follow up when we have the library committed and updated tinyUSB currently supports SAMD21, SAMD51, nRF52840, various LPCs, and STM32F4 - more chips will be supported soon! tinyusb is an open-source (BSD-licensed) USB Host/Device/OTG stack for embedded micro-controllers, especially ARM MCUs. On ASK AN ENGINEER, our founder & engineer chatted with Pete Warden, the technical lead of the mobile, embedded TensorFlow Group on Google’s Brain team about what would be ideal for a board like this. What did we come up with? We saw these ultra-low cost (20 cents!) 3-axis accelerometers on LCSC a few month ago and have been experimenting with them. They've got +-2/4/8/16g range, and 14bit resolution according to the datasheet. There's also tap & freefall detection which makes them a good alternative to accelerometers that are 2 or 3x the price. We have written an Arduino library to start, so far so good! On the PCB we're also experimenting with adding JST-SH connects, like Sparkfun qwiic boards. learn guide - https://learn.adafruit.com/neotrellis-soundboard/ This is a sound board using Adafruit’s NeoTrellis. This lets you trigger audio files so you can play it like a musical instrument. Each button can have different sounds so you can build your own sample kit. All of the electronics are housed in our 3D printed enclosure. The top and bottom covers snap fit so it’s easy to put together. It’s designed to be portable, compact device and it’s open source. In previous build we used several boards to make a similar project. For this one we can use Adafruit’s Feather and the Prop Maker Feather Wing. Check out the learn guide for documentation. You can follow along step by step to wire the electronics and build the assembly. You Can Shake the device to shuffle the audio. Pressing the button on the side will reset the arrangement. We think it’s a fun demo of what you can with the accelerometer.
