On Monday the North Carolina 4th Circuit heard arguments in the ongoing battle for a seat on the North Carolina State Supreme Court, the challenger in the race, Judge Jefferson Griffin is asking that around 60,000 votes be thrown out. Earlier this month, the State Supreme Court blocked certification of the race in which the incumbent, Justice Allison Riggs holds a lead of over 700 votes. Mike Causey (R) North Carolina Insurance Commissioner
Homeowners in North Carolina will see an increase in premiums of an average of 15% over the next two years, that is according to a settlement announced by North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey and the North Carolina Rate Bureau last week. This settlement comes after the rate bureau had requested an increase of an average of 42% that would have started this month and would have doubled in some coastal areas. With Chris Edwards to discuss this in depth is North Carolina Insurance Commissioner, Mike Causey.

Medicaid plays a larger role in providing health coverage to people living in small towns and rural communities than it does in metropolitan areas, a trend that is particularly striking among children, according to an extensive analysis by the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families (CCF) and the University of North Carolina NC Rural Health Research Program. The report found that non-elderly adults and children in rural areas and small towns are more likely than those living in metro areas to rely on Medicaid for their health insurance.
