7 Tips to Enhance Your Performance in Life
[[:encoded, "The need for a balanced life is more important than ever. Too often, our work life and personal life overlaps, so enhancing your overall performance can only benefit both aspects of your life. Having a growth mindset can help you to overcome any challenges you may face, both professionally and personally.\n\nBy following these seven tips to enhance your performance in life, you’ll be more likely to maximize your potential and reach your goals in the timeframe you desire. Are you ready to start implementing changes into your life that will increase your performance and help you grow as an individual? If yes, then keep listening!\n\n1. Set Crystal Clear Goals\nAs a business owner, you may be constantly thinking about setting your team up for success, but don’t forget about yourself! Set yourself up for success by setting clear goals. You set your annual goals and review your progress every month to help you know where you are against your annual goals, so you can course correct, if you are off track at all. \n\nIf you’re not sure where to start, you can start by setting longer term, larger goals and breaking them down into smaller and more manageable goals.\n\nFor example, you can set a goal of running a half marathon in the next year. Break that goal down weekly by starting small and running 3 miles a week, then build up slowly until you’re running more and more each week. By the time the half marathon comes along, it’ll be a breeze for you to do!\n\nAnother example is, instead of setting a goal to “increase revenue for the year,” set a specific goal with an actual number, such as “increase revenue to $120,000 by year end.” Then break that down into smaller goals by month, such as “hit $10k in revenue per month.” Once you have a more concrete goal, you can plan out the actual steps it takes to achieve that goal!\n\n2. Practice Effective Communication\nEffective communication is so important in both our personal lives as well as in business. Practicing empathy goes hand-in-hand with communicating effectively. Whether you’re speaking with a loved one or a co-worker, approach the conversation with empathy and an open ear. Start by trying to see where they’re coming from, and use phrases to describe how you feel, not what you don’t like about the other person’s actions.\n\nListening well is a very important skill that needs to consistently be practiced to be refined. It can be easy to hear something and react immediately. It’s much harder to listen, take tiUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 5 Tips to Trick Your Mind into Overcoming Procrastination
[[:encoded, "Mind over matter, right? Sometimes, that’s easier said than done. When we’re faced with a laundry list of to-dos and with not enough time in the day, it can be easier to distract ourselves and push things off to the next day. And when more items get added to our list, it becomes overwhelming, and we continue to procrastinate even more. A vicious cycle, but one that can be overcome.\n\nIn order to overcome procrastination, we have to first understand it. Start with perspective—procrastination may not be something you can ever fully get rid of. And that’s okay. When you accept that it may be a part of your process, that’s the first step to figuring out how to work through it. The reason why many of us procrastinate is because we choose to do something that’s more immediately gratifying than something we know we need to do, but it is probably not as fun. Procrastination is an emotional reaction, and we put off necessary tasks in order to stay happy in the moment.\n\nSo, how do you overcome procrastination and move on to a mode of productivity? Here are 5 tips to trick your mind into overcoming procrastination.\n\n1. Make It Super Easy to Get Started on Your Task\n\nThe hardest part of completing some tasks is getting started. Sometimes thinking about a task can snowball into feeling overwhelmed because of what the task entails. If you’re going into the task with a dreaded mindset, that will make it harder to get started. It’s much easier to get started if you don’t think about it as much.\n\nFor example, if the task at hand is getting out of bed to go work out, you might find yourself thinking about how you have to find your workout clothes, then you need to make sure you have clean socks, and by the time you work out, half your day will be over—before you know it, you’ve convinced yourself to stay in bed.\n\nSet things up ahead of time so it’s super easy to get started. If your goal is to work out in the morning, make sure your clothes are laid out the night before. Then, when you wake up, just get out of bed. Don’t spend time thinking about whether or not you want to work out, or you’ll fall into the same pattern as before. Just get up, get dressed, and get out.\n\nIf the task at hand is making prospecting calls to potential clients, start with making a list of people to call and the script you will use for what to say. Once you have that list and script, set it next to your laptop (or open it in a notes document on your laptop) the day before you even Unlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 5 Types of Cybersecurity Threats
[[:encoded, "There is an entire industry dedicated to fighting cyberattacks and making sure other companies have solid cybersecurity systems in place. Cyberattacks have become increasingly common, and typically involve some sort of breach of information systems to steal sensitive data or deny users’ access to their data. Many attacks have a financial motive, so it’s crucial to protect your company against the possibility of a breach.\n\nIt only takes one attack to bring down a network and do serious damage to your business, but if you take the necessary steps to protect your systems, you have a much better chance of thwarting any hackers’ attempts.\n\nThere are several different types of cybersecurity threats, and it’s important to know what they are so you can understand how to fight them.\n\n1. Malware\nMalware, or malicious software, is an umbrella term for all sorts of programs designed to hack, disrupt, or damage a device. Malware breaches the security of your device and can steal data or control your device. It works by tricking users into clicking something they shouldn’t click, which then downloads malicious code into their system. Types of malware can include viruses, trojans, spyware, bots, bugs, and ransomware.\n\nYou can prevent malware by using tools that detect a breach early, such as software that scans your network, and removes any malware it detects. Never click on a link you aren’t exactly sure where it came from. Even emails that may seem okay and legit, are not. \n\nMalwarebytes offers a free and an affordable paid version to help with possible malware issues on your computer. Check it out by going to https://www.malwarebytes.com/. I personally use this software on my computer and on my phone. \n\n2. Ransomware\nRansomware is exactly what it sounds like—your data is taken hostage until you pay a ransom to get it back. It can be considered a type of malware, and is spread throughout your network through various ways, such as phishing emails that have malicious code attached, or drive-by downloading, which is when a user visits a site that’s infected with malware and unknowingly downloads it to their device.\n\nOnce ransomware has infected a device, it encrypts the user or company’s data so they can’t access any of their files. It spreads quickly across the database and servers, and the attacker holds a private key needed to decrypt the files until the ransom is paid.\n\nThere may be some situation in which the attacker refuses to release the privUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Using a Goal Setting Vision Board to Reach Your Dreams
[[:encoded, "Having dreams and goals is an incredible thing; it keeps you motivated and gives you purpose. But without a well-thought-out plan, a goal rarely executes well. Planning is a fantastic way of staying focused on your goals and achieving personal greatness. \n\nVision boards are helpful and inspirational tools that make your dreams and goals feel more accessible. These boards can be a fun art project that maximizes your motivation and pushes you to try harder.\n\nVision boards are like a sacred visual space that displays all things you want to achieve in life. Therefore, it helps you stay on the right path. Let’s discuss how you can set a goal-setting vision board and effectively use it as a visualization tool.\n\nWhat is a Vision Board? \n\nA vision board is a physical reminder of things you want to achieve in a specific timeframe. Typically, vision board ideas include photos, words, and virtually any other visual displays. \n\nThese boards act as a visualization tool to help you hit your personal, professional, and material goals. By placing visual representations of your dreams in one space, you can look at them daily and even activate the Law of Attraction.\n\nHow Do You Use a Goal Board, Dream Board, and Inspiration Board to Set Goals? \nVision boards are the perfect tool to picture your dreams and goals. Goal boards, dream boards, motivational boards, inspiration boards, and various other different types of vision boards serve the same purpose: to inspire, to motivate, to help you achieve great heights. \n\nVision boards help you set goals in two ways:\n•\tTap into your receptivity and imagine all that could and can be. These visions include color, feelings, words, or sensations\n•\tUnlock your space of intention and find your deepest desires by engaging in expressing, exploring, and representing them \n\nWhat is the Difference Between a Vision Board and Goals? \n\nWe are all guilty of making extensive lists of goals and resolutions. We all create plans, set goals, and make resolutions- but more often than not, our goals may not always be realistic, and our plans and resolutions fall apart. \n\nWhenever our goal doesn’t go the way we planned, we feel defeated, hopeless, and unworthy. And then the next year comes around the corner, and we repeat the cycle. \n\nVision boards help you break the cycle. Vision boards include the big picture of the years ahead and inspire you to take action, so you will be on the path to achieving and enjoying what yoUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! How Believing in Yourself Can Help You Grow Your Business
[[:encoded, "What can give you the “power” to succeed? Belief. Belief in yourself. Belief in your business model. Belief that you have the skills and experience, and tenacity to propel your business products and/or services forward and achieve your dream of even greater success. \n\nYes, you need: \n1.\tResources\n2.\tConnections \n3.\tAnd Maybe Even a Little Bit of “Luck”\n\nThose tools are ideal tools in your toolbox of entrepreneurship, but even with all of those, you still need to believe that you can… and then you will! \n\nOne of the biggest differences between successful people and people who struggle is that those who are successful, believed that they were going to be a success and they moved toward goals to make it happen. \n\nHow can you believe in yourself even more? Let’s explore 6 concepts that can help you.\n\n1.\tWork on your self-confidence. Self-confidence goes a long way toward your achieving the goals you’ve set for yourself. If you don’t have confidence in who you are and what you do, you will be set adrift at the first sign of trouble. As an entrepreneur you will be faced with a myriad of challenges, and you need to believe in yourself enough to know you can navigate the rocky water.\n2.\tWhy would anyone else believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself? There really is no reason, right? If you can’t look at yourself in the mirror and know that you can be a success, you won’t be able to project that belief onto a potential client. That potential client will sense your self-doubt and in turn will worry about tying his or her business to your goods or services. \n3.\tWhen you believe in yourself you have removed an obstacle from your path. Belief in yourself is very powerful and helps you win and succeed. \n4.\tWhen you believe in yourself your positive self-talk and your positive attitude will feed upon itself. Your belief in yourself will help you project a winning attitude into every conversation you have with a potential client and with your current clients. \n5.\tYour belief in the project in front of you will motivate you to action. If you’re frozen in place because you’re not sure if what you’re trying to do will “work,” you will find and make excuses to procrastinate. A strong belief in what you’re doing will have you jumping up to take immediate action and that action will spur further action. \n6.\tYou know that even if you fail, it’s a part of the process. You also know that failure is a temporary setback. 9 Tips to Help You Stop Procrastinating
[[:encoded, "We’ve all had an action item on our to-do list that has been there all week or even all month, and we avoid it like the plague. You know you should be working on it, but you’ve refilled your water bottle 5 times, done your client service work, checked all your social media, completed some online business training, and are reading any blog you can find. And then the activity you have been dreading is now due and the deadline has been missed. For some, this procrastination cycle just keeps repeating. It’s normal to procrastinate, most times because a task is overwhelming or you don’t like doing it even though you are the only one who can do it, but it is probably affecting your business more than you realize. \n\nWhy Do You Procrastinate?\nUnderstanding why you are not working on something can help you to manage it. Piers Steel, who wrote The Procrastination Equation states that procrastination occurs for three distinct reasons:\n1.\tLack of self-confidence to achieve a goal.\n2.\tNot interested in the task.\n3.\tDistracted by impulsive behavior.\n\nAccording to Steel, if you do not value or expect that you will achieve your goal, you are more likely to procrastinate in some aspect of it. If you are influenced by short-term gratifications, you can also be distracted from reaching your goal. These distractions steal time away from what you should be working on and cause you to lose productivity and motivation.\n\nHow Can I Reduce or Stop Procrastinating (you might be wondering)? \n\nLet’s explore 9 tips that will help you.\n1.\tAnnounce Your Goals. Telling people about what you want to achieve holds you more accountable to it. I strongly suggest you also want to write about it or write it down for your own purposes. Revisit or talk about it often, so that it does not stray too far from you mind. Tracking your goals also helps you to not procrastinate because you know where you are at against your annual goals at any given moment in time. You can easily measure the progress you are making. \n\n2.\tBreak it Down. Cut your task into smaller pieces that are more manageable to handle. You’ll find that you feel like your workload is not quite as overwhelming and you will be able to knock off a couple of tasks in no time. It is easier to make progress on tasks when you have them broken down into smaller pieces. \n\n3.\tMake a Timeline. Having one deadline for a project is pure procrastination. When you break your project into milestones, set a deUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 5 Proven Strategies for Overcoming Difficult Issues
[[:encoded, "Whether navigating tricky conversations or counseling employees through conflict, there are always going to be difficult workplace issues that crop up. How you handle these obstacles will go a long way toward determining the atmosphere of your office. Will the office be a space where you and your team can speak and work freely, or will it be a place that stifles creativity and operates out of fear discipline? All workplaces are comprised of imperfect individuals that have good intentions but will still inevitably fail, struggle, or cause conflict. Mistakes happen, errors will be made, and feelings might get hurt. Having a plan in place for how you will respond to these things and mitigate the fallout will set you on a path to a peaceful and successful work environment. \n\nWhen difficult times arise, consider trying out one or more of the following five proven strategies:\n\n1. Practice Patience\nA good rule of thumb when faced with a difficult situation like a disgruntled employee or a grumpy client is to take a deep breath and just listen. Many times, if you can help the person you are interacting with feel heard, the situation will de-escalate on its own. We all long to be understood and valued, so when you patiently give those around you ample space to air their grievances and vent their frustrations (even if they are unfounded or if you disagree with them) you are feeding the side of them that longs to be seen and appreciated. Once they are done talking, take a brief moment to gather your own thoughts; then, calmly restate what they said to you and work with them to achieve a solution that works for everyone involved.\n\n2. Grow in Gratitude\nIf you can cultivate an office culture of thankfulness, you may be surprised at how much the attitudes of everyone in your workspace elevate. Recognizing your employees’ successes and telling them often that you appreciate their hard work will help them feel valued, and will often build a spirit of excitement and congeniality, which acts like a hedge of protection against the small, everyday inconveniences and irritations that can crop up. \n\nIf you need a little help with being grateful more and having more gratitude in your life, download my complimentary Gratitude Journal Exercise, by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/gratitude/. Why Aren’t You More Productive?
[[:encoded, "Do you walk into your office armed with an ambitious to-do list then watch the day fade away with your having not completed the tasks you’d set forth? Why aren’t you more productive? \n\nThere are a myriad of reasons you’re not achieving the goals you’d set for yourself and I’m going to help you explore some of them. \n\nBefore you can determine why you’re not more productive you need to measure your productivity if it was where you believe it should be and why and where you think you may be missing the mark. \n\nWhat does productivity mean to you? \n\nDoes it mean: \n1.\tChecking off items on a to-do list?\n2.\tGetting out of the office “on time”?\n3.\tBringing in X number of new clients per week/day?\n4.\tGenerating X amount of revenue each month?\n\nTo truly measure your productivity is to look at the larger picture when it comes to your personal productivity. \n\nDetermine what productivity means to you and your business goals. Are you focusing on those items that are necessary to grow the business or are you more focused on checking items off a to-do list? For some entrepreneurs, the feeling of satisfaction that comes from having completed a plethora of tasks is more fulfilling than having tackled a large project that may not have an immediate pay off of ticking it off your task list. If that’s the case with you, take your large project and put it on your list – if checking off an item makes you feel productive and keeps you motivated, then don’t deny that internal feeling. \n\nTrack which items are necessary to your business growth. If you spend your time on a myriad of administrative tasks to the detriment of the large business growth tasks, you need to concentrate on your highest payoff activities and not pursuing activities that will not produce results in your business. \n\nAlways Prioritize Your Tasks \n\nWrite down all the tasks you need to complete to grow your business. These tasks include the mundane (order office supplies) to the necessary (meet with potential clients, find speaking engagements, perform follow up calls, ask existing clients for referrals, send proposals). Once you’ve written down all of the tasks you need to perform in your business on a daily, weekly, or monthly timeframe you need to prioritize them. \n\nTo prioritize you need to determine which are tasks: \n1.\tOnly you can do and nobody else can do.\n2.\tThose you could delegate. Interview with Dr. Vic Manzo, Business Mindset Coach
[[:encoded, "I think you will find my guest to be helpful in helping us with our mindset, so you can break through any barriers that are holding us back from reaching our next level of success (and we all have a next level). \n\nDr. Vic Manzo is a former Certified Pediatric Chiropractor who has become a business mindset coach. 5 Reasons Why You NEED to Make Time for Health and Fitness
[[:encoded, "As a successful business owner, you probably realize how difficult it can be to make time for yourself. After all, you did start a successful business from the ground up! You are also needed to oversee the day to day functions of your business, which can really cut into personal time. You might not mind working long hours and never getting time to yourself, but there are a few ways in which such a schedule can really impact you… and one of these is in the realm of fitness and physical health. \n\nThere are a number of good reasons to stay physically active, fit, and healthy… and I’m going to talk about five of them. There may be more good reasons (many more, actually), but these are probably five of the most important. Taking these five reasons into account will DEFINITELY help you to see that it is in your own best interest to stay in good physical condition. \n\n1… You Will Improve Your Overall Health\nEating right and exercising helps you in a lot of ways, and keeping you healthy is at the top of them! If you don’t eat right and naturally replenish your body’s energy and rebuild your immune system, you are going to have far less energy and be far more susceptible to diseases and sicknesses then you would otherwise. By exercising, you will get your body up and moving, which will decrease your odds of developing conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease. Three of the most IMPORTANT things that you can give your body to ensure that you will be as healthy as possible are…\n\n1.\tAdequate sleep\n2.\tNutritious foods\n3.\tDaily physical exercise\n\n2… You Will Lose Weight and Keep it Off\nExercise and a healthy diet will also help you to shed those unwanted pounds that you have wanted to get rid of. Losing weight is important if you are overweight, but even if you aren’t, it is important to remember that sitting at a desk all day (as a lot of business owners do) can quickly work against your natural metabolism and cause you to gain weight. Getting at least 20 minutes of exercise per day, and eating sensible with well-rounded meals (most of the time) can greatly reduce the risks of you gaining more weight than is healthy or beneficial. \n\n3… You Will Have More Energy\nAnother great reason to take care of your body through exercise and a healthy diet is that you will have a lot more energy when you do so. Do you drink a lot of soda? Do you drink enough water every day? Do you fail to exercise on a daily basis? 10 Consistent Habits of Successful Entrepreneurs
[[:encoded, "The most successful entrepreneurs have a foundation of creating good habits or setting up a system to make tiny changes that deliver big results.\n\nWith everything you have to do each day, your time is very precious, and it’s incredibly important for you to be intentional with each minute that you have. Creating daily habits will not only help your efficiency, it will also help you to grow and become a better person over time.\n\nHere are ten habits of successful entrepreneurs that you can implement into your daily life or implement even better.\n\n1. Create a Routine\nWhen you have a set routine, you know what comes next and don’t need to spend time figuring out how to make the most of your day. Start with a set morning routine, whether that’s exercising in the morning, taking the dog for a walk, enjoying breakfast with your family, or going straight into your workday.\n\nIf you’re a morning person, your routine might start with a 6am jog, breakfast, and coffee while you read a motivational blog or watch a YouTube video. Whatever your routine, stick to it for success that lasts.\n\n2. Use Time Blocking for Ultimate Productivity\nTime blocking is the act of scheduling out each moment of your day on your calendar (https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/how-to-increase-your-business-efficiency-with-calendar-time-blocks/). You can set aside time for your morning workout, a time for emails (which I strongly recommend is not first thing in the morning), or a time to work on the vision for your company. By focusing on each activity during a specific time block, you can and will increase your productivity, rather than being pulled in many directions. \n\nDid you know that some of the most productive people in the world swear by time blocking? Ever heard of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Michael Hyatt, or Cal Newport? Yep – all time-blockers. They’re squeezing every drop of productivity from their days, and so can you.\n\n3. Push Yourself Out of Your Comfort Zone\nThe most successful entrepreneurs are constantly pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. Make a habit of going out of your comfort zone, whether it’s saying yes to things you normally wouldn’t, or taking something just one step farther. Do something that scares you—if you have a healthy relationship with fear, you will grow as both an individual and a successful entrepreneur.\n\n4. Break Down Large Goals into Smaller Goals\nWhen you create habits for yourself, you want to make sure you’re setting yourUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! He has a popular YouTube channel called MasterTalk, with the goal of providing free access to communication tools everyone can use. \n \nHere are just a few of the questions I asked Brenden that you will benefit from by listening to his interview:\n\n•\tCommunication is critical if we want to get anywhere in business and in life. So, what do world class communicators do to be world class?\n•\tWhat should we start practicing tomorrow for being even better communicators?\n•\tWhat daily exercises can we use to practice effective communication?\n•\tIf we have call reluctance, what would we need to know to be better at communicating with prospective clients?\n•\tI have clients who say they don’t want to be salesy in how they communicate. How do we communicate in a way that isn’t salesy when we feel this way, even though we might not be salesy?\n•\tHow can we communicate even better in a virtual situation or environment to a few people and to a group of people in a live environment?\n•\tHow would our written communication be different than our verbal communication to be effective?\n•\tAny advice on how to communicate even better if you're introverted?\n•\tThere is I focused language and YOU focused language when communicating. For example, when someone asks you what you do, most people say, I do this, We do that, Our firm does this, etc. You focused language would say something like, When you work with us, you will experience ____, You will enjoy having ____, People who work with us experience ____, In order for you to get the best experience in our time together ____, The next logical step for you is to ____. Any thoughts on what language (I, We, You) is better to use and when?\n\nYou can find my interview with Brenden at https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/my-podThe Fresh Patch Podcast - Where Good Pets Get It. 6 Cybersecurity Tips to Protect Your Business
[[:encoded, "Making sure your business has systems in place to withstand cyberattacks is one of the most important actions you need to do. As a business owner, you have an obligation to protect your company’s sensitive information, as well as your clients’ information.\n\nThe Equifax data breach of 2017 exposed the personal data of millions of people. As a result, Equifax had to pay $700 million in settlement fees. This is just one of many unfortunate examples. Smaller businesses may be even easier targets, which is why it’s very important to have a solid cybersecurity strategy in place.\n\nIf you’re not sure where to start, let’s review 6 tips to help you increase your company’s cybersecurity to protect your business.\n\n1. Use Secure Passwords and Multi-factor Authentication\n\nNot only should you have a strong password to sign into the various platforms and software that your business uses, it’s also good practice to change those passwords regularly and use multi-factor authentication.\n\nLonger passwords are better—at least 8 characters, with a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Passwords can be hacked with automated software that tries every possible combination, so the longer your password is, the more combinations it has to try.\n\nMulti-factor authentication is when you need a password and an additional step. It’s also called two-step verification. This reduces the likelihood of a successful attack because there is additional information needed. Typically, this is a code sent to the user’s cell phone, or a code generated by a two-factor authentication (2FA) app such as Authy.\n\nYou can use a password manager to manage the various passwords for your accounts, so you’re not reusing the same one, or having to try and remember all the passwords you have for all your accounts. If one account gets hacked, then any other account using the same password can also more easily get hacked. And whatever you do, avoid using the word “password” as your password at all costs.\n\nThere are many password manger options. Some are:\n \n•\tDashlane\n•\tLastPass\n•\tLogMeOnce\n•\tKeeper\n•\tNordPass\n•\tBitwarden\n•\tRememBear\n•\t1Password\n•\tPasswordBoss\n•\tEnpass\n•\tRoboForm\n•\tZohoVault\n•\tTrueKey\n\n2. Secure Your Wi-Fi Network\n\nMake sure your Wi-Fi is secure and hidden. While your router typically comes with a pre-set password, make sure to change it immediately to something more secure. Additionally, if you offer free Wi-Fi to your guestUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Procrastination is the Thief of Time
[[:encoded, "It's Friday afternoon, the clock is ticking, and your fingers are jumping from one key to the other. You're working furiously, your five o'clock deadline is nearing, and the weekend is just around the corner.\n\nBut you've still got so much to do and less than an hour to finish. You silently curse yourself for not starting sooner. So, what happened? How did you end up running out of time? \n\nWell, there were hours you spent scrolling through social media, your multiple coffee breaks, re-reading emails, and completing tasks that you could've started later.\n\nProcrastination haunts all of us. We're all guilty of procrastinating and saying, 'I'll do it later,' or 'I'll start in a while.' But the negative impacts of procrastinating can steal dreams, cause missed opportunities, and even destroy lives.\n\nSome people are lucky enough to pinpoint their tendency to procrastinate and how much it holds them back. Let’s discuss how procrastination can wreck your dreams and how you can combat it.\n\nThe Origins of the Procrastination is the Thief of Time \n\nOften, Charles Dickens gets the credit for coining the term 'procrastination is the thief of time.' However, the truth is that Dickens popularized the proverb by putting it into the mouth of Mr. Micawber. \n\nIn 1850, Mr. Micawber said, 'My advice is, never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time.'\n\nWhile Mr. Micawber became a widely quoted character for pronouncing the proverb' procrastination is the thief of time,' he was hardly original. In reality, the phrase is an adage created by English writer Edward Young. \n\nYoung wrote a 10,000-line poem known as 'The Complaint' or 'Night-Thoughts on Life, Death, and Immortality or simply 'Night-Thoughts.' In this extensive poem, the poet muses over death over the courses of nine' nights,' i.e., nine sections.\n\nYoung's use of the proverb 'procrastination is the thief of time' goes beyond caution against putting things off. Instead, the poet suggests that time wasted procrastinating one thing is time wasted doing nothing of any consequence. \n\nIt goes to say that if we delay filling our taxes by arranging our spices alphabetically, the fact remains that we should have done something of far more importance. \n\nHow Does the Proverb Describe 'Procrastination'?\n\nEdward Young describes a procrastinator as someone who procrastinates in doing things at the right time and finds themselves in situations where they had little time to cUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 5 Small Habits that Secretly Affect Your Productivity
[[:encoded, "Time management skills and external obligations have been known to be directly linked to productivity. What many professionals don’t know is that your habits also have a direct impact on your productivity.\n\nRegardless of how well you plan out your long-term and short-term goals, ensuring that every activity is carried out effectively and efficiently while rejecting distractions and intrusions, is an important step.\n\nWhen running a business, it is easy to ignore the small habits that bite into your time. The assumption that taking a few minutes every day to indulge in these small habits won’t affect your general productivity is a dangerous notion for busy business professionals and entrepreneurs.\n\nThe value of these negligible minutes adds up to a significant number of hours that can be felt weekly, monthly, and even yearly. When studying the efficiency and productivity of the year, the collective minutes or hours allocated to these small habits could have been utilized effectively to improve your business’ performance.\n\nLet’s explore 5 small habits that secretly affect your productivity.\n\n1. Failing to Plan Your Day\nMany times, you may want to wing it. Take the day as it comes. When thinking of facing your daily challenges by writing it out and planning ahead with specific time blocks, you may choose to forgo this part of your day and attend to activities as they come.\n\nThis small habit has a much larger impact on your productivity than you can even begin to fathom. This is because by failing to plan your day ahead, you cannot organize and prioritize your daily activities; therefore, not being as productive as you can and need to be. \n\nThis leads to overwhelm, postponed tasks, lack of focus, multiple intrusions, and distractions that greatly affect your productivity and overall efficiency.\n\n2. Continuously Checking Your Emails\nEmailing is one of the preferred choices of communication amongst businesses and their clients, partners, and suppliers alike. Due to its ability to instantly search and receive messages, emails remain a trusted mode of communication to keep you informed at all times.\n\nThe challenge business professionals face with emails is that continuously checking emails has become a habit that chews away at a lot of your very valuable time. Sometimes, you can spend hours searching and refreshing your emails and responding to emails and messages. Doing this continuously has a negative impact on your productivity.\n\nThoughUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 6 Top Routines of Highly Successful Entrepreneurs
[[:encoded, "Every businessperson typically follows some kind of routine. Whether this routine means getting out of bed at the same time every day, taking a hike every weekend, or simply going to the same place for their coffee.\n\nRoutines are created to give order in a disorganized world. It brings clarity and focus to your daily life. It also provides the absolute satisfaction of having laid-out steps and processes to follow every day.\n\nRoutines feel like a planned-out day where everything is scheduled to go ahead without a hitch.\n\nSuccessful entrepreneurs make use of routines in their lives. This has helped them organize their activities, improve their productivity, and give them a clear and uncluttered focus of their life and business goals.\n\nTo align your business goals with your daily activities and tasks, these are 6 routines of highly successful entrepreneurs you can emulate.\n\n1. Morning Routine\nDo you have a morning routine? Do you wake up early in the morning, or do you sleep late into the morning?\n\nMost successful entrepreneurs wake up very early in the morning and have a morning routine. It can be meditating, exercising, or having a leisurely breakfast. A routine can be responding to emails, or reading business memos and industry updates, which I don’t recommend you do first thing after waking up. It can also be reviewing and planning their time blocks and scheduling other activities for the day.\n\nWhen you get up early, you have the advantage of being aware of an unencumbered peace and quiet. This can allow you to focus on personal or business activities without interruption. It also allows you to be available and ahead of demands. \n\nHaving a morning routine also helps you feel confident and focused on the challenges the day may bring.\n\n2. No Limit on Workdays\nThough it is very important to have rest days, successful entrepreneurs are known to work when they don’t have to. \n\nWeekends blur into holidays and vacation days blur into workdays for many successful businesspeople. This shows that they are highly focused and committed to the tasks that they are ready to achieve.\n\nThey have no set limitation on a day and are set to work whenever inspiration strikes. \n\nCarry a notepad and a pen to jot down innovative ideas that may strike when you are doing something unrelated to work, or take notes on your phone (whichever works the best for you). The best ideas cannot be controlled and confined to a specific time slot.\n\n3. 5 Limiting Beliefs That May Be Holding You Back
[[:encoded, "It’s all about perspective. Whether you’re facing a business challenge or a physical one, having the right mindset can determine how successful you are. In fact, studies by Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck have shown that the power of mindset lies in whether you have a fixed or growth mindset.\n\nA fixed mindset is the belief that you are who you are, and nothing can change that. This encompasses a level of intelligence, talents, and creative abilities. When you have a fixed mindset, it may lead to feelings of failure if you don’t think you are smart enough or capable enough to handle the obstacles that you will inevitably face as a business owner.\n\nA growth mindset, on the other hand, is the perspective that you can continue to learn and adapt to different situations that may arise. Even if you fail, you tend to learn from those failures and turn them into future successes. People with growth mindsets are curious and actively seek to keep learning, a characteristic that is necessary for success.\n\nWhile a growth mindset is more conducive to a successful business, it’s not always easy to change your mindset. The first step in changing how you view yourself and the world around you is identifying what limiting beliefs you may have that are holding you back.\n\nWhat is a limiting belief?\nA limiting belief is a false belief that something is impossible based on one’s own limitations and abilities. Limiting beliefs often keep you from pursuing or setting bigger goals for your business and is a mindset that can hold you back from reaching your potential.\n\nHere are five examples of limiting beliefs that you can identify and overcome.\n\n1. “I can’t compete with [INSERT a COMPETITOR for you].”\nMaybe your product or service isn’t the first of its kind. There may be hundreds or thousands of competitors out there. But guess what—none of those are founded by YOU. When you focus on how to do something better than your competitors in the same way they’re doing them, you lose out on the potential to be uniquely you and attract clients who connect with your voice and brand.\n\nThere’s nothing wrong with a little healthy competition. But take a step back and ask yourself, are you motivated by your competitors, or do you feel defeated by them before you’ve even started? If it’s the latter, here are some strategies for fostering healthy competition and using it as fuel:\n\n•\tDelegate competitor research to someone on your team. Are You a Procrastinator? Learn to Stop it!
[[:encoded, "There’s nothing wrong with taking a break, but you know procrastination when you see it. Let’s talk about how to recognize the signs of procrastination and stop the cycle of excuses and delays, so you can achieve more success in life and in business.\n\nIf you have ever been a leader, manager, or business owner with employees, you’ve experienced what it’s like delegating an important task under deadline. From experience, you’ve probably learned who you can trust to complete the task well, and on time, when others fall short.\n\nHave you ever delegated a time-sensitive task to an employee only to find them making excuses, waiting until the last minute, or wasting time when they should be working on your project?\n\nIt probably got you fired up.\n\nSo, here’s a question for you: If you don’t tolerate procrastination from others, why would you ever tolerate procrastination from yourself?\n\nFirst, let’s establish that no one is perfect, and no one is completely procrastination-free, every moment of every day. However, you can spot a habitual procrastinator anywhere. Listen closely as I share seven common signs of a procrastinator.\n\n1.\tProcrastinators are often overly optimistic about completing complex tasks in little time\n2.\tThinks and says they work best under pressure\n3.\tEasily distracted and loses focus when there is no urgency\n4.\tDelayed start (because they have a false sense that everything is under control, so there’s no need to jump into it immediately)\n5.\tWhen no progress has been made, they offer reassurance that everything is under control\n6.\tAction driven by panic (the realization that everything is not under control)\n7.\tScrambles last minute, working hours on end to complete a project minutes before the deadline.\n\nTaking what I just mentioned about a procrastinator into consideration, answer these 3 questions I’m about to ask you.\n\nQuestion #1\nDo you recognize any of these signs in employees or coworkers? \n\tYes\tNo\n\nQuestion #2\nHow many of the seven characteristics I mentioned have you experienced at any time in your personal or professional life? \n\t0-1\t\t2-4\t\t5-7\n\nQuestion #3\nHow often do you find yourself exhibiting these habits? \n\tRarely\t\tSometimes\t\tFrequently\n\nThere’s no right or wrong answer to Question #1 – procrastination is a common characteristic and often encountered in the workplace.\n\nIf you answered 0-1 in Question #2 – you probably tackle every day and professional tasks head on wUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 8 Tips to Hack Your Way to Greatness
[[:encoded, "Rarely is anything an overnight success. It can take years of hard work before it pays off, and that can be a hard truth to accept. But there are tips and tricks, or habits really, that you can implement into your daily life to pave the way to a successful future for you and your company.\n\nThese tricks, that I’m about to share, are a mix of productivity hacks as well as personal life hacks to help you perform at your best and build an extraordinary legacy. With practice, they’ll become second nature, and allow you to free up your mental bandwidth to tackle the tasks that will grow your business exponentially.\n\n1. Prioritize Taking Accountability\nAs a business owner, you’re responsible not only for your own outcomes, but the outcomes of the people you hire. A great leader has insight into the day-to-day operations of their business and has the ability to empower their team as well as step in when needed. Additionally, you can’t expect your team to take accountability for their actions and decisions if you don’t set an example first.\n\nTaking accountability in everyday situations helps you to learn how to take responsibility for your destiny overall. You are in charge of your success, and when you get into the practice of taking action instead of making excuses, you’ll go further than ever.\n\n2. Take Care of Yourself\nGreatness can’t be achieved when your body and your mental health aren’t performing optimally. The idea of hustling 24/7 and wearing burnout as a badge of honor is outdated. In order to succeed, you need to take care of your body.\n\nThat might mean incorporating a consistent workout routine into your day, whether that’s early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Some people prefer to start their day by getting their body moving, which may actually promote greater productivity.\n\nPay attention to how your body feels throughout the day. Are you getting enough sleep? Or are you powering through on a bad night’s sleep? According to a 2016 business school study, leaders who prioritized sleep were perceived as more charismatic.\n\n3. Turn Off as Many Notifications as You Can\nPhones can be the primary way in which you do your work, but they can also be incredibly distracting. Turning off notifications to the apps that you don’t need to be looking at can help you focus and be more productive.\n\nEven if you use social media for your business, block off some time each day on your calendar as the designated time to engage with your socUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 6 Tips for Effectively Managing Your Team
[[:encoded, "Managing a team is not an easy feat. People aren’t plug and play templates—there’s no formula for the best way to do it. The best managers lead with empathy and kindness, communicate clearly, and empower their team members.\n\nAs a team leader, it’s your job to inspire people and help them reach their goals and their potential. Continue listening to learn how to improve your team management skills and reach success together using one of all the six tips I’m about to share with you.\n\n1. Lead with Empathy\nIn Gary Vaynerchuk’s book, Twelve and a Half, he talks about how empathy is a central part of how he operates. When you leverage empathy, he argues, it “makes you a better business person, CEO, manager, or leader.” To motivate your team, you need to understand them, and to understand them, you need to lead with empathy.\n\nIf someone on your team makes a mistake, instilling fear in them and being angry with them immediately can lead to more mistakes. They lose the ability to learn from their failures and will approach future challenges with trepidation, not from a problem-solving perspective.\n\nInstead, take the time to understand what happened and where they were coming from. As a business owner, you’re ultimately accountable for anything that happens under your watch, so understanding your team can help you to better understand how to guide them to better outcomes.\n\n2. Clearly Communicate Goals and Expectations\nEffective communication includes clearly communicating things like deadlines, tasks, and deliverables. When your employees know exactly what’s expected of them, they have a better chance of success. The goal for you is to set them up for that success.\n\nDon’t assume that someone knows what their role entails. You may have a different picture in your mind than they do of what needs to be done. To avoid any confusion, write out a clear job description, but here’s the trick—check in regularly and continue to communicate what your expectations of them are. Have an ongoing process to reassess performance and make sure you’re both aligned. Once you can clearly communicate these goals, it’ll lead to the next tip, which is to provide honest feedback.\n\n3. Provide Honest Feedback\nProviding feedback, especially negative feedback, is not an easy task for any manager or business owner. But it’s much more beneficial to both you and your team member for you to provide honest feedback that’s delivered with kindness, than to dance around the subject Unlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 3 Proven Ideas for Working Smarter and Not Harder
[[:encoded, "We are all looking for ways to streamline our efforts at work – after all, who doesn’t want to get more done in less time? The idea of working smarter and not necessarily harder is not a new concept. It is one that the business and self-help industries have spent years tackling through thought leadership and research. \n\nUnfortunately, many people falsely assume that smart work can completely override the need for hard work, which simply isn’t true. It takes hard work to learn how to work in a smarter fashion. It takes hard work and discipline to implement new business strategies and perspectives. \n\nIt is only when working hard and working smart find a symbiotic relationship that true power in business productivity and effectiveness are found. With that said, I’m going to talk about 3 principles that you need to implement in order to strike a beautiful balance between the two.\n\n1. Delegate Non-Essential Tasks\n\nThis one should be a no-brainer, but time and time again people get stuck in the rut of doing things that aren’t the best use of their time or their talents. Outsourcing mind-numbing or repetitive tasks can be an immediately effective and a smart way to free up your workday time, so that you don’t have to work so hard to complete everything on your, probably lengthy, to-do list.\n\nIf you could cut that list of daily obligations from 10 things to 6, would you find yourself less stressed and with more bandwidth to truly pour your heart and soul into your day’s workload? Chances are good that that answer to that question is a solid, “yes!” But yet so many people refuse to let go of those things that someone else could easily handle.\n\nPerhaps it is because of a need to feel in control, or worry that the person handling those tasks would not do it properly. Regardless, if you put in the hard work upfront of hiring the right person for the job the first time around, you will be saving yourself an incredible amount of time down the line. \n\nDownload a Free Delegation List Sample Exercise to help you identify more activities to delegate, by going to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/delegation-list-sample/.\n\n2. Avoid the Siren Call of Multi-Tasking\n\nWhile multi-tasking tricks our minds into believing we are getting more things done at one time, we are actually just taking longer to accomplish small tasks, while simultaneously overloading our brains and producing subtle levels of stress that our bodies struggle to release. \n\nScientificaUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 6 Stages for Changed Behavior and Achieved Goals
[[:encoded, "One of the most difficult challenges of sticking to your goals personally and professionally is changing your behavior. Goals like improving your health, reaching a milestone, or revising daily routines aren’t easy. In fact, studies show that our brains don’t like change, are wired for laziness, and have a limited capacity. Ouch! And we often fail because we don’t practice the correct steps.\n\nAs with any process, there’s an order to follow. For example, when administering first aid, it’s vital to work sequentially. Before caring for an injured or ill person, you should call for help. Then you check for breathing and a pulse to determine if CPR is needed. Next, if a wound is present, you must attempt to protect yourself from bloodborne pathogens before trying to stop bleeding.\n\nOr let’s say you’re painting a room in your house. Obviously, you need to choose your paint color (will it be Arizona Dust? Blissful Blue? Soft Candlelight? Gallery Gray?) and purchase the proper amount. You should then prep the area. You’ll likely move furniture, tape off the trim, and cover the floor with a drop cloth. After all, you wouldn’t want to open that fresh can of paint on unprotected carpet! Putting in the time for preparation saves you a big headache (and extensive clean-up) later on.\n\nLikewise, there are steps to changing behavior in order to successfully reach your goals. Let’s take a closer look at what’s required.\n\nAwareness in Changing Your Behavior\n\nTo make any significant changes, you’ll first want to understand what’s going on in your brain when trying to stick with your goals. There are six possible stages that you’ll go through:\n\n1.\tPre-contemplation. At this point, you’re not interested in making any changes. In fact, you don’t consider your actions as problematic or lacking, and you’ll likely continue in your normal everyday behavior. You’d probably feel defensive if someone approached you and suggested change.\n\n2.\tContemplation. By now, you’ve contemplated, or thought about, making changes. You’re open to suggestions but a bit ambivalent. And you may not be entirely sure that you want to move forward. Often, this stage lasts the longest because spurring yourself to action can feel like an overwhelming battle.\n\n3.\tPreparation. Here, you’ve committed to change. You’re researching resources and strategies to be successful. You’re preparing to move forward with changes. You actually take the needed steps to reach your goal. 6 Ways to Develop a Success-Oriented Mindset
[[:encoded, "Running your own business is not always easy, as you already know. There are challenges from the start, and you’re constantly being faced with fires to put out. Developing a success-oriented mindset can help you change your perspective and take your business to the next level!\n\nYou can accomplish a lot more when you feel like you can do anything you put your mind to. Having confidence in yourself changes your mindset from “I’m not sure I can do this” to “I know I can do this; I just have to figure out how.” Perspective is everything, and when we can control our outlook towards challenging situations, we can harness a positive mindset and unwavering determination to accomplish goals that we set for ourselves.\n\nLet’s explore six tips for how to develop a success-oriented mindset.\n\n1. Regularly Take Yourself Out of Your Comfort Zone \nOne of the ways to gain confidence and to grow is by regularly taking yourself out of your comfort zone. Do one thing each day that makes you uncomfortable, whether that’s eating something new, trying a new workout, or testing out a new marketing initiative.\n\nTaking yourself out of your comfort zone could also mean delegating more tasks to employees that you would normally take on yourself! To develop a success-oriented mindset, you need to be able to let go of some aspects of your business, no matter how uncomfortable it makes you feel.\n\nI believe successful people are comfortable with being uncomfortable all the time. That is how they got to be successful. You too can learn how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable; however, you might have to initially get outside your comfort zone a bit. \n\n2. Never Stop Learning\nA success-oriented mindset is synonymous with a growth mindset. The determination that drives you towards success is also one that pushes you to learn along the way. When you run into things you’ve never faced before, having a growth mindset allows you to ask questions and explore, so you can discover new solutions, and this, in turn, helps you on the path to even greater success.\n\nLearning new things doesn’t need to be restricted to business topics—it could be learning a new skill, learning how to navigate through a new city, or learning how to focus on and solve a challenging situation.\n\n3. Set Smaller, More Achievable Goals\nIf you start by trying to tackle larger goals, you may get discouraged if you don’t reach them as soon as you’d like. By setting smaller, more achievable goals, you caUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 7 Simple Ways to Turn Procrastination into Productivity
[[:encoded, "Productivity versus procrastination is the ever-present angel and devil on our shoulders. The one voice in your head telling you that you should be more productive, and the other voice whispering devilishly to go ahead and watch another episode of your favorite show, that task can wait. But procrastination doesn’t always have to be a negative thing, despite its bad rap. In fact, there are ways you can use it to your advantage!\n\nJohn Perry, an emeritus philosophy professor at Stanford, proposed an idea in 1995 called structured procrastination. His belief was that people who procrastinate are still doing useful things—they just need to learn how to be intentional about the little things they do to put off larger tasks. He argued that by putting structure around everything you do, important or not, you could trick your mind into getting the larger tasks done.\n\nLet’s explore 7 simple ways you can utilize structured procrastination to turn procrastination into productivity.\n\n1. Put Off Morning Tasks by Time Blocking\n\nIf you aren’t a “morning person”, it can be hard to get started in the morning, especially if you start your day early. Instead of diving into a larger task right away, try doing some time blocking as your first small task. Time blocking is blocking off time on your calendar for all your tasks, even breaks! It helps you to structure your day, so you know exactly what to work on in a given time block, so you don’t need to waste your mental energy thinking of what to do next.\n\nYour time-blocked calendar could look something like:\n\n•\t6:00am to 6:30am – Work out\n•\t6:30am to 7:00am – Shower\n•\t7:00am to 7:30am – Coffee and light breakfast\n•\t7:30am to 8:00am – Time block calendar\n•\t8:00am to 9:00am – Make prospecting calls\n•\t9:00am to 9:15am – Prep for client meeting\n•\t9:15am to 10:15am – Client meeting\n•\t10:15am to 10:30am – Finish any actions from client meeting\n•\t10:30am to 11:00am – Respond to emails\n•\t11:00am – 12:00pm – Make prospecting calls\n•\t12:00pm – 12:30pm – Eat Lunch\n•\tEtc.\n\nHaving a laundry list of to-dos can be overwhelming, so setting aside a specific time for each activity takes away the burden of deciding when to do that task and makes you more intentional with how you utilize your valuable time.\n\n2. Break a Larger Project Down into Smaller Tasks\n\nAs you’re blocking time on your calendar, you can break larger projects down into smaller tasks which makes them much easier to do and you feel likUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Maintain Morning Routines\nWhen successful people get up early during the week, it extends to their weekends too. To be more productive, maintain your morning routine. Get up early, plan your day, and follow it through if you don't have a morning routine.\n\nWhen you tackle everything that may be time-consuming in the mornings, you build a habit that improves your productivity tremendously.\n\n3. Take Things One at a Time\nWeekends are the best time to try and multitask in order to get things done you don’t have time to do during the week. Everyone gets extremely tempted to multitask during the weekend in order to get as much done as possible. You may want to run on the treadmill while scrolling through social media or your newsfeed.\n\nPlease stop doing this. Instead, immerse yourself in every activity. If you are working out, be present in mind and body. Commit to each activity, and you’ll be able to run a mile longer, read 3 more chapters, or meditate for one more hour.\n\nWhen you are present for every task, you can be fully refreshed when you go back to work on Monday. \n\n4. Have a Plan\nJust because it is the weekend doesn’t mean that you should tUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 5 Ways to Manifest Confidence in Yourself
[[:encoded, "Confidence. Some people have it aplenty. Others struggle to be and act confident. Others of us are in the middle of the road; we are confident in certain situations, and in others we take a backseat because we don’t trust ourselves enough to embrace confidence. \n\nHaving self-confidence is important in our personal and in our professional lives. Many of us, however, struggle to find it and use it. When you struggle with confidence, you find you continue to struggle to pull forth your self-confidence, and this lack of confidence can make it difficult for you to success or to inspire others toward success. \n\nWhen you’re self-confident, you feel good about yourself and your body responds by secreting hormones that give you a further boost. One way to boost confidence is to recall a time when you were at your most confident – that will help! \n\nWhen you feel self-conscious, your confidence will lag. Determine why you’re self-conscious and take the necessary steps to alleviate that feeling. Learn more, take charge, talk with someone to help you gain confidence, so you can move forward. \n\nLet’s explore five ways to help you build your self-confidence even more.\n \n1.\tBe aware of how you talk to yourself. If you criticize yourself and your actions, your confidence suffers. Challenge any assumptions you have, determine where you are, and in what circumstances you criticize yourself. Find ways to treat yourself to better self-talk. \n\n2.\tKeep a “negativity journal.” This may seem counterintuitive, but stick with me. When you feel negative about yourself or your abilities, write it down. Look at what you’ve written and determine whether it’s true. For example: I can’t talk in front of a group. Is that true? Of course, you CAN talk in front of a group, but you may be nervous or anxious about talking in front of a group. That is a different task entirely. Once you write down your self-defeating belief, you can move forward and find a way to defeat it. If you’re nervous to talk in front of a group, join Toastmasters, for example. Start small and practice on friends or colleagues. When you have to talk in front of a group, choose a topic about which you are fully confident. \n\n3.\tHow do others see you? Do people come to you and ask for your advice? Do they seek your help with projects? When you’re dealing with low self-esteem and your confidence is lagging, write down your skills and those areas in which you are an expert. This will help you build confidUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 6 Tips to Keep Moving Toward Your Goals
[[:encoded, "Have you ever been driving and realized just a bit too late that you missed your exit? Have you ever traveled somewhere just to find that you’ve seen the same street corner three times, and you realize you’ve been going in circles? Perhaps you took the wrong turn because you were distracted by your favorite song on the radio. Or maybe your GPS routed you the wrong way. These inconveniences can be enough to forget why you started in the first place! You might veer off course or give up altogether and go home. As a business owner, these same annoyances can crop up when working to achieve your goals.\n\nHow you approach your goals isn’t that different from traveling! Your motivation is the fuel that powers you and gives you the focus and follow-through. Let’s explore six mile-markers, or tips, to help you stay on course from start to finish.\n\nMile Marker #1: Goals vs. Values\nLet’s take a closer look at this traveling analogy: if a goal is like a destination, then your values are the reason to hit the road. If you don’t know why you’re traveling to a destination, it’ll make it much harder to get there. \n\nNo matter the venture, make sure that you understand why you’re pursuing your goals. Check that your sales align with your core principles and values. Coordinating these will set you up with a full tank of motivation.\n\nTo download my complimentary Values Clarification Exercise to help get you started on defining and getting clarity on your core values, go to https://www.accountabilitycoach.com/values-clarification/.\n\nMile Marker #2: Picture It\nWhat does reaching your goal look like? More and more, visualization is vital for achieving goals. While you don’t have to break out glue or clippings for a vision board, having a clear image in your mind is crucial to jumpstart your motivation. Taking some quality time to look inward and imagine reaching your goal can hone your focus and keep you feeling inspired to follow through. \n\nVisualizing can be the tools or methods that help you maintain motivation. Tools like calendars, Gantt charts, or spreadsheets can give you a literal vision of a goal and your progress. This also keeps your motivation burning strong.\n\nMile Marker #3: Make Pit Stops\nEven long-haul truckers need to rest and refuel. In the same way, break your goals down into smaller parts to keep your energy up. When you break a massive goal down, it also feels less daunting and more manageable. It gives you a chance to celebrate the progreUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 7 Habits to Help You Beat Procrastination
[[:encoded, "Procrastination hits at the most inopportune times and halts progress, makes us miss deadlines and causes overwhelm. There are a myriad of reasons for procrastination and in order to help push past its potential downward spiral, you need to understand the reasons you procrastinate. Once you understand the reasons behind your procrastination, you can take steps to alleviate and eliminate it, so you can move forward. \n\nProcrastination can be a threat to your professional productivity and your livelihood. \n\nWhy do you procrastinate? \nThere are many who believe procrastination is a time management issue, but it’s not – it’s an emotional issue. When you delve into the emotional reasons you procrastinate you can move past it. \n\nHere are five reasons people procrastinate: \n1.\tYou’re not sure the project is worth the perceived effort you need to put in. If you’re not invested in the task you can tell yourself “it’s not worth it.” You may be right, but you need to determine how missing this deadline could impact your future self and business. \n\n2.\tYou fear failure. This is a major reason for procrastination – if you don’t start, you can’t fail. Your fear keeps you frozen. Lack of training or knowledge of the overall project could add to that fear. \n\n3.\tYou are already overextended, but still you said “yes” to a new project. If you are already overwhelmed, and you add another project, procrastination is almost sure to follow. \n\n4.\tYour perfectionist tendencies rise up. If you’re concerned that your efforts won’t yield 100% satisfaction, you are afraid to start. The desire to produce a perfect project helps assure you don’t work on it. \n\n5.\tYour time management skills are lacking. If you procrastinate because you are overwhelmed, it could be because you truly do have too many tasks on your plate. However, you could be procrastinating because you don’t know how to properly manage your time and your tasks. Additionally, if you haven’t written down all of the tasks you need to do, you could be imaging you have more to do than you truly do. Write down everything you need to get done and you may see it’s not as overwhelming as you imagined. Prioritize everything on your list with the most important items that will help you make progress on your goals (revenue generation, for example). How many items are on your list that can be delegated – and delegate them?\n\nTo help you be even more effective and efficient, so you can achieve your goals at an aUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! 7 Ways to Improve Your Communication Skills
[[:encoded, "You don’t have to be an amazing orator to be an effective business communicator, but you do need to have communication skills that are finely honed. If you’re an entrepreneur or a business team leader, your livelihood or your paycheck could depend upon your communication skills. \n\nWhen you talk with a business owner who has effective communication skills you simply know it. That person is: \n1.\tSuccinct\n2.\tClear\n3.\tA Good Listener\n\nIf you aren’t certain whether your communication skills are as effective as they should be, or if you know they are lacking, I’m going to share seven ways you can easily improve your business communication skills. \n\n1.\tBe complete in your communications. There is no room for being vague when you’re speaking with a client, a potential client, or a team member. Don’t leave the conversation hanging to the point where the individual has to fill in the blanks because you haven’t given all the pertinent facts. Being succinct and direct is always ideal. \n\n2.\tYou need to be clear. This goes hand-in-hand with being complete. If you are delivering a communication and you’re stumbling over your words, backtracking to fill in the blanks of the earlier part of your conversation, and being unclear, you need to take a step back and work on your communication style. When you see the eyes of the listener glaze over or if they stop taking notes, you can be rest assured they aren’t certain where the talk is going, and they have lost track of it. \n\n3.\tYou need to consider the feelings of the individual to whom you’re speaking. With whom are you speaking? Is the person on the same page or at the same level of information for the discussion you’re having? Make sure there is no information spoken that could be misunderstood as that will put the listener at a disadvantage, and he or she may feel you’re withholding information. \n\n4.\tOffer concrete details. If there are steps in a process or in a project that cannot be wavered from, you need to offer those concrete details and back it up with examples. A concrete detail will leave nothing to chance and will help clarify the overall message. \n\n5.\tAll your business communications need to be correct. This is especially true if you’re communicating via email or other written forms of communication. There is no place for spelling or grammar errors. Don’t take shortcuts or do “shorthand” in your business communications. Every written communication you send should be as factually accUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! The Power of Your Mind for Overcoming Limiting Beliefs
[[:encoded, "The idea to establish your business came from the belief that you could do it, that you had it in you. But then somewhere along the journey, you lost the conviction in yourself. Perhaps you wondered things like:\n\n•\tI’m too old to be venturing into this. It’s not within my capacity. \n•\tThis will consume all of me. \n•\tI won’t be able to pull it off. The risks are too great!\n•\tThe last betrayal was too great. I can’t trust people again. \n•\tI’m too old to keep doing this.\n•\tWith continual change, I can’t keep up.\n•\tIf I ask for referrals and introductions from my clients, they will think I’m too pushy.\n\nDo you know what all these statements are? They’re your limiting beliefs. They do nothing but incapacitate you and make excuses for not achieving goals that you desire. The solution for a big change and a big break is only a step away. Do you know what that step is?\n\nIt is overcoming your limiting beliefs and tapping into the power of your mindset. If you don’t know how to do that, keep reading. \n\nInitiating a Shift in Mindset to Overcome Limiting Beliefs\n\nBy overcoming your limiting mindsets, you can earn the freedom, meaningfulness, productivity, purpose, and the fulfillment you deserve. The truth is that nothing is beyond a human being’s reach, only if they put their mind to it. \n\nAll the power rests in the mindset and how you mould it to drive your success and fulfillment. Your mindset is how you think and your intuition regarding certain things. If only you could acknowledge one fact deep into your heart and mind, that limiting beliefs trigger unhappiness, you wouldn’t have difficulty changing it.\n\nIt is often an ignorance of this one vital fact that renders us incapable of overcoming the limiting mindset. A powerful and an unrestricted mindset can take you a long way. It helps you destroy all those barriers that inhibit your achievement of goals and your progress. \n\nLimiting Beliefs - Where do they come from?\n\nFirst of all, let’s understand that limiting beliefs are merely unconscious thoughts that sneak into our mind before we’ve had a chance to block them. These thoughts actually have a very cunning way of using our past bitter experiences to remind us why failure is more likely if we proceed with what we want to. \n\nHence, they stem from our past bad experiences in life or of those in our circle. 7 Tips to Creating Better Goals You Are Inspired to Achieve
[[:encoded, "You’ve probably read it all. You’ve opened multiple pages and tabs on the internet in pursuit of that crucial knowledge on how to create even better business goals, so you can accelerate your results.\n\nAs a business owner, your goals represent more than numbers on a scale. They serve as important milestones that motivate you and immortalize your contributions to your business, and to those you serve.\n\nWhen setting your goals, you have to pay attention to what your business stands for, what services or products you provide, who your target market is, how you hope to speak to that market, what solutions you want to provide, what milestones you want to set, and at what point to tick those milestones as complete.\n\nOther than these points, you should be ready to ask for help when your business needs it, hire valuable help, gain important skills, make tough decisions, and put in the work that’ll help you achieve these goals.\n\nEven while doing this, you are not assured of the success of any of these goals. Some goals may make a comeback year after year because they are not attained. When goals make a comeback regularly, it is possible to get frustrated to the point of quitting.\n\nThat’s why these seven tips for creating better business goals comes in handy.\n\n1. Rationalize the Results\nBefore setting your goals, it is best to think about the results you want to achieve. Take a longer look into the future and be reasonable with your expectations. In a year, what do you want to have achieved business-wise? \n\nAre these goals what you truly want? Are they also important enough for you to commit your valuable time and resources to? Are they worth investing in?\n\nWhen you think of the results you want to achieve, you should have absolute confidence in the path you are about to set yourself upon.\n\n2. SMART Goals Are the Key\nWhen creating better goals, you need to apply the SMART principles, which I’m sure you are familiar with. Your goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound. \n\nSome people think their goals have to be ‘realistic.’ Realistic is somewhat relative. I believe that setting a goal that may seem a bit out of reach or a challenge works to motivate most people even more. If you don’t achieve this stretch goal, you will feel better because you will have achieved more than you would have originally set as a realistic goal. \n\nWhen your goals meet these principles, you have chalked off the greatest challeUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today! Benefits of Setting Goals
[[:encoded, "As a business owner, you’ve certainly heard by now that setting goals, both personally and professionally, is an endeavor of the highest quality and leads to prosperity. It might even start to sound a little cliché, but why does goal setting really matter? After all, you probably have a general idea of where you want to go. Isn’t that enough? \n\nActually, it’s not. Come along with me as I show you why.\n\nLet’s start with your personal life. Maybe there was a point when you knew it was time to take action. Perhaps you wanted to shed some pounds, get more sleep, or eat better. Or maybe you wanted to save more money, give back through volunteer work, or carve out more time for your family and friends. All worthy goals…but where to begin?\n\nEven though it can be challenging to implement substantial changes, the advantages are nearly always in your best interest! But as you probably know, just wanting to achieve goals like these won’t get you very far. \n\nNo, you’ll need a plan.\n\nNow let’s switch gears and consider your life as a professional. Maybe your career is rocking along. You’re exactly where you want to be. Perhaps you’re t-h-i-s close to where you want to be. Or maybe you’re just getting started. No matter the phase of your business, the benefits of good ol’ goal setting can’t be overstated. In fact, it’s essential to your success as a business owner—just like it is in your personal life.\n\nWhile setting goals at work may not trim your waistline like a healthy diet would, it’ll point you in the direction of your dreams. And as a business owner, you really can’t succeed for long without it. Let’s take a closer look.\n\nBenefits of Goal Setting\nAs author, philanthropist, and coach, Tony Robbins, once said, “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible”. That’s a pretty powerful statement. With this in mind, remember that goals are what gives direction and wings to your dreams. \n\nThere are five benefits of goal setting we’ll consider here:\n1.\tYou’ll gain clarity. Without clarity, you may experience a scenario like Abbott and Costello’s famous skit, Who’s on First. While their confusion is undoubtedly entertaining and memorable, you don’t want to create this absurdity in your own workplace. In fact, leaders who don’t set goals are likely to have subpar results, unengaged employees, and a company culture lacking initiative. On the other hand, by having clarity, you’ll better understand the purpose of your goals aUnlock a blueprint to creating and having your ideal business and ideal life by scheduling your free consultation with me today!
