We are in Leon in the lead up to Palm Sunday.

Cam reviews results from the 2026 NRL NT Territory Junior Championships.

Day 28: a cold start walking 19 km from Mansilla de la Mulas toward León, now at 329.5 km remaining to Santiago de Compostela.

Day 27 of the walk: a 20-kilometre day from El Bergo to Mansilla, with the first 12 km to Religios and a shorter second stretch into town. A quiet morning walk past houses with chickens, a long coffee-less first stretch, and a warm tortilla lunch followed by sweetbread.  

Jono and Cam recap a chaotic early AFL season: big wins, surprising losses, and key injuries that are already shaping contenders and underachievers. They discuss the confusing impact of byes on the ladder and review notable performances from last weekend. They then preview round three matchups, examine team changes and injuries, and share their tips and predictions—highlighting the uncertainty as the season struggles to find its rhythm.

The SRA Territory Stingers women’s team is locked in for the 2026 Malaysian Hockey League, with the squad featuring the return of Territory Stinger and Hockeyroos great Brooke Peris, the signing of former Hockeyroos defender Penny Squibb, Black Sticks quality through the Northern Gateway Initiative, and seven young Territorians set to make their Malaysian Hockey League debuts.

Leaving Sargun after a generous breakfast from friendly hotel owners, the walkers reflect on how small comforts — like hot water — shape the Camino experience. A shorter 16 km day felt tougher, and today they face 20 km to El Burgo Ranero across flat, agricultural terrain.

Camino Francés - Day 25: Ledigos to Sahagun (16 km).

Day 24 on the Camino: a 22–23 km day dominated by a long 17 km stretch across the flat Meseta with icy tailwinds, passing tractors and a repetitive landscape. The group stocked up at a small supermarket, kept extra water and snacks, and refueled with peri‑peri drenched chips at a roadside albergue.

Day 23: walking from Fromista to Carrión de los Condes. We stop for a riverside lunch with baguettes while tractors amusingly circle around. The day felt manageable at about 19 km, though detours took us closer to 22 km.

Day 22 of the Camino: a 25 km walk from Castrojeriz to Frómista featuring a steep climb up an 'alto', wide panoramic views of valleys, windmills and distant villages, and a hot, dry day across the Meseta.

Day 21: a 19-kilometre walk from Hornillos to Castrojeriz with an early start alongside fellow pilgrims. A welcome stop at Fuente Ciedras albergue/bar offered big mugs, warm drinks and peanut butter-and-banana on toast before continuing. The route passes impressive abbey ruins and finishes in Castrojeriz, a long village at the base of a hill topped by a medieval castle — a striking example of centuries-old stone architecture.

Day 20: First day walking after a rest day — 21 km from Burgos to Hornillos del Camino.

Cam and Jono wrap up Round 1 and preview Round 2 of the AFL, as well as getting massively sidetracked as usual.

Day 19: A rest day in Burgos after walking about 280 km — roughly one third of the Camino. The walkers reflect on sore legs, a welcome pause, and how their bodies anticipated the break.

Day 18 walking from Atapuerca to Burgos.  

Day 17, 19 kilometres from Villafranca, Montes de Oca to Atapuerca.

Day 16 of the walk covers 14 km from Belorado to Villafranca Montes de Oca in cold, muddy, and uncertain weather. Apologies, wind did cause some interruptions to the audio quality.

Day 15 of the Camino: a 23-kilometre walk from Santo Domingo to Belorado in cold, rainy, and windy conditions. The route stayed close to the main road, crossed quiet towns and rolling green farmland, with long steady inclines.

Day 14 on the Camino — a 21-kilometre walk from Nájera to Santo Domingo de la Calzada under big blue skies, passing vineyards, rolling green fields and distant snow-capped peaks.

Day 13 of the Camino: a 16 km walk from Navarrete to Nejera, hitting the 200 km mark overall. The group reflects on pace, fellow pilgrims and not racing to Santiago for Easter.

WCBH Mini: The Hockey One League has confirmed the Melbourne Cobras will join as the eighth franchise from the 2026 season, while the Territory Stingers were not granted entry.  

Day 12: a short 12 km stroll from Logroño to Navarrete through a long promenade and a nature reserve filled with bold ducks, tiny squirrels and hundreds of large fish.

Day 11 follows a deliberately shorter walk from Viana to Logroño. The slower pace is part of body management after several long walking days.

It's day 10, March 9. We left Los Arcos and walked about 19–20 km toward Viana, passing through long, flat 'picture frame' countryside and rolling hills.

Day 9 on the Camino, walking from Estella to Los Arcos (about 21 km). The episode highlights the quirky Fuente del Vino wine tap, a forked decision to take a hillier scenic route, and varied terrain from wet forest climbs to wide rolling vineyards.

Day 8 of the Camino: a 21 km walk from Puente la Reina to Estella in wet, muddy conditions.

Day seven of the Camino covers about 23–24 km from Pamplona to Puente La Reina.     Puente Lorena, moving from the old city through suburbs and rolling agricultural hills. The walkers note lighter trail shoes, muddy paths after rain, vast lines of wind turbines, and abundant cherry blossoms as they climb and battle brisk breezes and a light spit of rain. After roughly 35–40,000 steps they arrive in a small stone town, rest, and plan to explore before continuing the journey.

After five days of walking we take a rest day in Pamplona, visiting the Plaza de Toros where the Running of the Bulls is held.

Hockey Northern Territory has confirmed the Territory Stingers men’s squad to represent the Northern Territory in the 2026 TNB Malaysian Hockey League (MHL), with the selected group set to compete across May 3–17 in one of the most demanding short-format campaigns in modern national league hockey.

Day 5 of the Camino: a 20-kilometre walk from Zubiri to Pamplona, made easier by using a porter service and lighter day packs.

Day 4 on the Camino, Cam and family follow a mostly bush trail from Bizkarreta to Zubiri.

Only segments 1 and 5 could be published due to strong winds impacting audio quality: On day three the family leaves Roncesvalles for Biskarreta following a touching Pilgrim's Mass, limited sleep and lively smells.
