Released in 1998, Saving Private Ryan is set in 1944, over a short period from the D-Day landing, starring Tom Hanks as the unlikely captain set a task that's hard to fathom. Does Ryan want to be saved? It's a question that raises a moral dilemma for the audience as much as the characters.
